Scott Rasmussen: Americans Against Unpopular Health Care Reform
by Washington News ObserverRenown pollster Scott Rasmussen discussed the reason a backlash against Democratic health care reform is brewing. Rasmussen also discusses Obama, Evan Bayh, upcoming Republican victories and various other topics.
“I think the other thing that is hurting Democrats on the health care issue right now is sort of the sense of they were going to push it through regardless of the fact that it was unpopular, and I don’t think that’s the kind of responsiveness that people are looking for.”
“Right now you’d have to say the likelihood is the Democrats will lose 5 to 8 seats in the Senate, which means the Republicans would not gain control. That’s probably good news for the GOP because I don’t think they want to be in charge heading into 2012. Also expect that the Republicans will pick up maybe 25 or 30 seats in the House.”

I have great respect for Scott, but I think he's been a teensy weensy bit conservative here.
5-8 seats in the Senate might be accurate, and I agree, the GOP doesn't want control of the House and Senate going into 2012 unless they want to guarantee an Obama re-election. (It's called balance of power, folks.)
But 25-30 in the House? Sheesh… I'd say 70-80. Although I expect the GOP to lose 20-30 as well since the anti-incumbent mood will rid us of some of them as well. (And good riddance it will be!)
The average mid-term loss for the first term of a Presidency is 41 seats. We have the most angry population possibly since the founding of the country, and he's predicting only 25-30?

I am a little concerned latest poll shows Specter is leading GOP challenger, Toomey. I wonder if the "dumbing down" of America has been so successful that there are just not enough people out there who get it.
I wonder if obama has come to terms with the fact that he isn't going to get everything he wanted. And I wonder if he will sit in the corner of the oval office yelling "I won, I won, why won't those mean republicans let me have my way."

Make sure that you include in your prayers that some disaster does not occur that will give the OBAMATONS reason to postpone the Nov. elections. I may be being paranoid here but "NEVER LET A GOOD CRISIS GO TO WASTE" especially under pressure of loosing all they hold dear could drive the Progressives into all or nothing mode. I disagree with Rasmussen on the idea that most American's don't know what Cap and Trade is, or that it will have no impact except in certain districts. The American people are smarter than we are given credit by the political pundits. We realize that it will grind our economy down even further than it is now and we will not let Climategate go without a fight. I believe that is why Cap and Trade is just sitting on the table for now….and it will only get worse if they cram the HC bill down our throats…..which will also cause greater losses in the fall.
No he didn't have a lobotomy. That would have required more than half a brain to start with, and I can guarantee you he never had anything close to that.
Scott Brown was just a fluke. Nothing to see here, folks. Chris Cristy? Just another fluke. McConnell? Just another "perfect storm," right?
Every time I hear someone downplaying the momentum of the conservative movement, all it does is motivate me to double my efforts. Maybe this is what Rasmussen knows will happen. Maybe not. Doesn't matter. Nothing will stop the momentum of the Patriot Movement currently under way.
Forget all the back and forth bickering why isn't anyone asking WHY BHO Pelosi Reid and company are hell bent on getting this through? Let's ignore the fact that they have a majority vote, why are so many willing to put their careers on the line for something the American people DO NOT WANT? Why not come up with some program for the 30 million that are uninsured, but IMO half that number is more or less illegals…. only matter of time till the immigration issue takes the stage. Wouldn't it be better to fix whats wrong with the HC system rather than destroy it and take it over? Take it over by an 'organization' who is clearly incapable of running it; if you haven't heard the other "business" they run, the Post Office, is looking to stop saturday delivery "to cut Saturday delivery as part of a wide-ranging plan to close a multi-billion dollar budget gap".
DC is filled with real world inexperienced bureaucrats how is it they know better? Why do they think they know better? What is the real goal of ramming this HC bill down our throats, power & control?
Sorry but something else is at work here as each day goes by and the will of the American people is ignored I grow more and more concerned. There is some radical agenda in place to fundamentally change America, we see it in the headlines, the puzzle pieces almost fit together. Healthcare, Cap & Trade, Immigration etc they are all tied together one way or another and these people IMO are positioned to gain financially when they get them through.

I am so fed up with the POSs running our country. I would not buy a used car from Schumer, Pelosi, Specter, Waxman, Crist, and on and on. If someone would actually vote to put Specter in for 4 more years they are not even a sentient being and should have their citizenship revoked. The Health Care Reform is a GREAT deal. It continues to build government dependence, it will degrade the quality of health care throughout the nation, it allows us to bail out people that are irresponsible and redistribute the cost to those who behave responsibly, and could ultimately lead to the financial collapse and ruin of our nation, allowing us to rebuild it in a much more socialistic fashion. I’m not sure where anyone is seeing a down side. (sarc)

Are you sure you're not confusing the PRIMARY poll which shows Specter handily beating Sestak?
With the health care bill being on the bottom of America's list of priorities people don't want to waste the time or the money that could help bring back the economy. The economy is on the top of the list for most Americans and we need to remember this, so does Congress and if they aren't willing to make real change a priority then we will get rid of them. Remember America is also worried about the money that we are printing or borrowing from places like China and their influence over us.

Ignore the poll. Quinnipiac polls registered voters, not likely voters, and they don't weight the responses.
44.7% of respondents were Democrats — WAY too high, even for PA.
And there is absolutely no way, even with registered voters, that Specter leads amongst professing to be Independents.
Finally, 52% oppose the Healthcare plan, but Specter is winning? Come on, this is stretching the incredulous…

Why won't Rasmussen do a poll tracking how many Americans believe Obama should release all of his records, or a poll tracking how many Americans know about Obama's day one Executive "GAG" Order? Wonder why? hmm his website says "if its in the news, its in his polls"?
The records which have not been released by Obama, or anyone else, include; Passport records, Obama kindergarten records, Punahou School records, Occidental College records, Columbia University records, Columbia thesis, Harvard Law School records, Harvard Law Review articles, University of Chicago scholarly articles, Illinois State Bar Association records, Illinois State Senate records/schedules(said to be lost), Medical records, Obama/Dunham marriage license, Obama/Dunham divorce documents, Soetoro/Dunham marriage license, Adoption records and of course the long-form Certificate of Live Birth.
Scott hit's the main point right off, how well will the economy is doing going into November. The progressives are going to go on a spending spree about May in the hopes they can take off the edge of a bad and getting worse economy, it will fail at worst and at best sputter and die.

Tell people what's going to happen and what needs to be done to stop it
Balanced Budget with prioritized hard stops – To stop massive inflation and special interest hand outs
Flat Tax- To curb corruption, place power back into individuals hands, and stimulate job growth
Accountable and Open Government – no ear marks, maximum 10 page bills, limited executive orders, force judges to abide by the constitution or be unseated, video all senate/congress transactions outside of national security, only citizens can vote.
They will ignore us, until it does happen, then they will scream for Obama and the progressives heads, and we will offer them up

Specter 49%, Toomey 42% : Quinnipiac University poll, Feb. 22-28, 1,452 Pennsylvania voters. However, poll also finds that PA voters say (by 52-38 percent) that Specter does not deserve another term in the Senate. Sounds like there's a bit of cognitive dissonance going on in the Keystone State …
