Republican Leader John Boehner hosts Economic Roundtable on Jobs
by Washington News ObserverWashington News Observer today covered Republican Leader John Boehner’s economic roundtable which featured economic experts such as Doug Holtz-Eakin and Larry Lindsey. Our coverage may be viewed below or on our website, www.washingtonnewsobserver.com
Boehner stated: “You have to remember that President Obama, Speaker Pelosi, and Majority Leader Reid, have never run a business, much less ever had a real job in the private sector. So how would they know what it takes to create real jobs?”
“It’s no secret that unemployment is now over 10%. Three million Americans have lost their jobs this year alone and the biggest problem we heard from our economist with regard to why employers aren’t hiring. It’s all the job killing policies that being offered by this Administration and this Congress and creating an awful lot of uncertainty for American employers.”

You want job recovery? Then stop meddling with the private sector. Let businesses run as they see fit and you'll have more jobs created than there are people to fill the positions (unless a union is involved then those jobs will still be tanked).
When Obama had all the car dealers cancelled, he told us what he thought about small companies. When he inspected banks and told us he knew who was naughty or nice and they better nat make loans, small business capital dried up. When Obama said he would burden them with a 1,000 dollars healthcare expense mandate per worker per mklnth, he told them to not hire or expand. We have a horrible small business climate and it is getting worse. Joe the plumber got to hear Obama's opinion on smaller employers. It is really that bad.
Representative Boehner, how dare you say that these people don't know how to run a business, you racist. Wait… Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid are Caucasions. Hmm.

Liberals try really hard to reverse common sense. Many don't fall for it.
If you don't know how much the government is going to cause an employee to cost you over the next two years, would you hire one? BO. Pelosi and Reid just need to STOP and STAND STILL. Let us breathe, give us a break.
Idiots.
Folks, WE, are REALLY in trouble.
But Barry reads a teleprompter so well!
Here is where WE have deteriorated to:

"Boehner stated: “You have to remember that President Obama, Speaker Pelosi, and Majority Leader Reid, have never run a business, much less ever had a real job in the private sector. So how would they know what it takes to create real jobs?”
I don't think many people realize the risks involved in starting and running a business. Your financial future may involve bankruptcy and years of hardship if the business is not successful. Threat of lawsuits and theft from employees. It can take a lot of courage.
When the government imposes more regulations and taxes, many people will decide it is not worth the risk.
Rep. Boehner, a Republican controlled congress was perfectly happy to supinely oblige President Bush in massive deficits, not nearly as massive as Obama's but massive nonetheless, and No Child Left Behind, and the Medicare Prescription Drug Program etc. etc.
In short, you have a credibility problem. If you wanted to be a conservative you would have opposed Big Government no matter who was in office. Please don't run for reelection. Please just go back home and take a good long look in the mirror. If the Republican Party wants to become credible again it needs new people with a new message. The Neocon agenda is unwanted anymore.
Great.
So, genius, what's YOUR solution?
biggovernment.com SHOULD BE ON THE BUMPER OF EVERY SAVED (For the poor to transport in) "CLUNKER" IN AMERICA, THE NEW OWNERS OF THEM NEED TO BE POINTED IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION!!!!! SEEK AND YE SHALL FIND THE ANSWERS TO THY TROUBLES!!!!!! Listening to rational theory (Validated by history) is invigorating, to say the least!!!!!!!!
Did you miss the part about "new people with a new message"? Or do you just vote for anyone with an "R" after their name? Because a lot of people don't. I know it might be hard for you to comprehend, but a lot of voters would like to find leaders who actually have principles and conviction independent of party affiliation. The current Republican leadership has destroyed their credibility. They preached small government, but when they were in power they were the same as Democrats. People like me who want small government want new people not empty new rhetoric from people who have let us down.
the problem is when he talked to Joe the plumber people did not hear what he was saying, they kept hearing yes we can ringing in their pea brains. They had no idea what they could, now they are about to see what they did.
Cowboy please don't be so "positive". Yes we are.
Oh great!!! Yet another $40,000 golf outing? OK everybody, right down the number of lobbyists involved with this "round table" and throw it in a hat. Who ever guesses accurately wins a $40,000 golf junket with the number of lobbyists you picked. At least this way, your tax dollars can actually work for you as opposed to what Boehner normally does with your tax dollars.
At this juncture, I can see only one positive. In every generation, there must be a Jimmah Carter, to prepare the path for the next Ronald Reagan. Obama is the new Carter, and the road is being paved for the new Reagan to appear and step forward into the breach. Unfortunately, the new Reagan has yet to emerge.
Funny. Those jobs saved numbers? Nobody has noticed that does not include the Chariman of Obama Motors (GM). Since Barry Hussein has been in office, GM has gone through two Chairmans. Obongo fired one, the latest just quit. How is that for CON-fidence?
People like you James were silent for the past eight years when Repubs "did the same as Democrats". In fact, you were quite loud and assertive when others questioned policies and labeled people like Ron Paul "whack jobs" before his Tea Party movement got hijacked by the same fanatics that were the cause of our problems to begin with. People like you James would wholeheartedly support Sarah Palin who has a proven track record of doing the exact same thing as what's been done for the past eight years and naturally, we can count on your silence again? Naturally, you'll be supporting Sarah "George Bush III" Palin for 2012. Not assuming, just asking.
Syn,
I know we don't normally agree, and I know you don't think much of the Canada Free Press, but CBS has also picked up on the story:
http://www.wtvr.com/news/wtvr-veteran-flagpole,0,...
Quite fraknly, I'd be prepared to stand at that flagpole, with a gun, and defy them to take it down. That is the least somebody could do for that old man.
See, people like me and you can agree on occasion. At the end of the day, we need each other, everyone who loves jousting, needs a partner.
I actually Googled it and saw a few hits of this story plus a lot of traffic on Twitter. If any American and not just the most decorated veteran alive, wants to display their patriotism on their own piece of America than to hell with anybody who has a problem with that or can have the nerve to say "it's not aesthetically pleasing to the eye". That blows my mind.
I'd be standing at the flagpole with ya! We'd be bitchin' and bickerin' about ACORN but I'd be standing their with ya!
Here is another photo, with him wearing the medal of Honor.
You would find, that you and I probably would have more to agree about, than disagree about. I won't even argue with you about ACORN anymore, they are done.

The government's hard push to pass the healthtax bill began in March; exactly when the stock market recovery began. And because they have been too busy with it to meddle with the private sector, we have seen a 60% rise in stock prices. Rather than letting the recovery take it's course, the administration is starting to focus again on the economy and will attempt to "fix" it right into a double-dip recession. Take your profits NOW people!
And thank God for that 60% rise in stock prices!!! I was actually able to gain back the massive losses in my 401K and IRAs suffered under Bush's regime AND it was nice to have a year where I didn't have to pay $5 a gallon for gas. Sweet!
"Take your profits NOW people!" — That certainly wasn't an option 10 months ago.
"did Obongo dye his hair during the campaign" — Possibly? I'd say yes and he still does I believe. Being the President ages a person big time. Look how young Bush looked in 2000 compared to just a couple of years later. Same with Clinton. A big user of the Clairol was Reagan. He may have been bats##t nuts by the time he left office but his hair looked exactly like it did in the '50's.
"was he banging the blonde bimbo chick that crashed the White House Party" — I sure hope so. It would justify the blatant stupidity and unlike the last administration with Jeff Gannon, at least it would be a member of the opposite sex. lol
Economic roundtable = I have not idea what to do, but this may get me some press coverage.
You know Mr. Logic, you and I don't agree on a lot but this story is absolute BS!!! Not aesthetically pleasing to the eye? What kind of BS is that?
Well I can't speak for other people like me, but you are right that people like me were silent during the Bush years and I thought Ron Paul was a whack job during the election. But after McCain went down in flames I really started to ask myself why it happened and I looked for different answers. I started to actually listen to Ron Paul and think about what he was saying instead of just thinking he was weird for not saying the same old Republican lines. My ideology changed almost over night and once you realize how wrong the system is there is no going back. I am now a Ron Paul supporter and a member of his Campaign for Liberty and Young Americans for Liberty. In fact, I felt so bad about my positions before that I hand wrote Dr. Paul a letter to apologize and tell him he was right and thank him for waking me up. I had the pleasure of hearing him speak when he came to Columbia, SC. I also joined the Mises Institute and went to the October conference in Greenville, SC to meet Tom Woods and hear him speak. I have and cherish many Mises Inst. books including Human Action. My favorite Mises Inst. book is What Has Government Done to Our Money, and The Case for a 100% Gold Dollar by Murray Rothbard.
I do not support Palin, or Romney, or Gingrich, or Huckabee, or Pence, or McConnel or Cantor, or any of the other establishment Repbulican leadership. I will never vote for an establishment candidate again with the exception of maybe DeMint because of his policies on the Fed, but I don't think DeMint will run in 2012 anyways. If Paul is not on the next ticket I will write him in. And no, you can't count on MY silence again.
Also, I hated that the Tea Parties were hijacked by the Neocons and Fox News etc, but Campaign for Liberty/Young Americans for Liberty still seems to be getting it's message somewhat through them. I think this is a good thing.
Lawyers posess a unique role in our economy. They specialized not in the creation of wealth, but the redistribution of it through the court system. It's what they are trained to do. Their training becomes evident when they write bills. It soon becomes clear that they have no idea how a free market economy operates. One need look no further than today's failed indicators as proof.
We can stop the decline of our country by refusing to elect lawyers into office and start electing folk with common sense instead.
Just wondering what businesses Boehner has run? That's not a slam, I just want to be able to use his quote without fear that someone will point out that he hasn't done what he's criticizing others of doing (or, in this case, not doing).
It is a good thing. Being a Left leaning Moderate myself, I have a great deal of respect for Dr. Paul. I believe he'll be on the ticket again and probably gain a lot more traction than last run. The Tea Partiers need to steal their party back from the Tea Baggers. Good luck with that. lol
Boehner should host a summit on things he has knowledge of: tanning and golf.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Boehner
Business background there, because I was wondering too. Been a president of a plastics firm.
Pelosi, Reid and Obama probably think he's evil b/c he's part of the revolving door between industry and government that has gone on far too long.
Also, why did he not bring his ideas to the job summit that Obama hosted? Was he even invited?
