Exclusive: Rep. Michele Bachmann On Health Care
by Washington News ObserverYesterday, Big Government contributor Washington News Observer sat down with Rep. Michele Bachmann to discuss the latest twist and turns in the health care debate. Rep. Bachmann has taken the lead in calling for citizens concerned about a government take over of health care to rally at the U.S. Capitol on Thursday, November 5th and make “house calls” on their members of Congress. Info on that event can be found here.

Regardless of one's take on Michelle Bachman, I don't think anyone could call her insincere. I believe she is a Patriot, and is definitely someone to watch.
She is someone to watch, but we really need people to listen to the issues she is raising. 9/12 and the tea parties need to step up now. I will do what I can.
Bachmann would make a good president. She gets it.
That's what a leader looks like people. Honest, passionate leadership.
But we have to act. Go to DC. Make a phone call. Write a letter. You have to contribute more than blogging.
What they really want is health CONTROL.
The commie playbook teaches that if you control a people’s healthcare, you control the people,
Let’s help wake people up by calling it health CONTROL.
Honest answers that actually make sense. Michelle Bachman is a breath of fresh air in Washington. Let's help her get this done!

Maybe the GOP leadership needs to take some lessons from the female side of their party….
Which is why she's under such attack in Minnesota…

Sarah Palin / Michele Bachmann / Marsha Blackburn: in my fantasy, Sarah is Pres., Michele is Speaker, and Marsha is Sentate Majority Leader in a world where every single RINO (those that accept the premise, then proceed to hope they get eaten last) has been disembowled, eviscerated, and gibetted (metaphorically).
I agree with xmanvietnam: women like this have more balls then the entire male Republican leadership combined, and, for good measure, can actually COMMUNICATE, and have normal voices (have you heard, for instance, Boehner and Cantor? The former sounds like he is eating pie continuously, and never fails to fail to make a clear point, whilst Cantor whines and slavvers like someone in the throes of an atomic wedgie: as for the Senate…sheesh).
is this the same lady who called for joe mccarthy/red scare tactics in calling for "patriotism" investigations against all congressmen then retracted?
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/10/22/gop-repr...
why yes it is.
i like how you and your kind are actively purging the republican party of all moderates. this will make democratic party rule that much easier to maintain.
thanks in advance,
all four of them

Michele Bachmann is one of the few voices of reason left in congress.I agree you have to call, write and e-mail your rep's frequently.2010 is a year away so it's time to see if you made the right decisions in 06 and 08.Make sure you know who's representing you.Check who's running and who actually walks the walk and not someone who's all flash and no substance Like Obama.
If your not already become a part of the Tea Party movement and get involved in your districs. The Tea Partiers and the voters of Dist.23 are the reason that Hofmann will win.Not the progressive Rino's that not only put up but endorsed the Liberal Democrat Scozzafava.Rest in Peace Newt.
With the exception of Reagan, Washington sucks! From The Great Society to the EPA to the CRA, to Read my lips, Don’t ask, don’t tell, No child left behind, Drug benefits for seniors, Immigration, TARP, Stimulus, to Healthcare Reform. We’ve been moving towards the nanny sate for decades in both parties, now we have serious choices to make.
Note: Reagan did grant amnesty to 4.5 illegal’s!

We hope you keep thought going Scott….. no need for you Lib's to worry about us hick conservatives. Kick back and sip more Obam-aid while the train comes down the track.
The opposite is true. Socialist "rule" will be harder to "maintain" once the cover afforded by those who accept the premise (but try to limit the effects), is ended, and those who have actively infiltrated conservative organizations have been asked to leave. We're no longer going to play by your rules; no longer "how high?", but "why should I jump at all?".
There is nothing moderate about moderates – they are simply slow-motion Socialists that speak out of both sides of their mouths, whilst elevating concensus to the status of an ineluctable truth, who believe the only absolute is there are no absolutes.
I can always tell when people like you are losing it: it starts with racism, moves to class warfare, then faux concern about the state of the Republican Party, the composition thereof, and how we will enjoy only a Pyrrhic victory if we rid ourselves of people without principles: you use the same template today you've been using since Reagan, and we're on to you.
In other words Scott, I'm interested in hightening the contradictions in the developing correlation of forces. I'm sure you recognize the thought.
'Socialist "rule" will be harder to "maintain" '
still lamenting agains 'socialism' are we? keep beating that worn down overplayed drum filled with hyperbole.
at any rate, that's the exact opposite of what Sen. Hatch believes
http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/...
"There is nothing moderate about moderates – they are simply slow-motion Socialists"
lol. that's hilarious. everybody who does not pass your own personal ideological purity tests is a socialist!
Hi Scott. I think you will be very surprised to learn that the whole Tea Party movement is being spearheaded by mostly very educated women (a lot of whom are mothers) that really care about their kids and grandkids. I am always happy to listen to well reasoned, articulate arguments from anyone from any political ideology, but the facts are what matters. And I live in California, and more and more women are signing on to the conservative movement, as a matter of principle, and as a matter of ideology and love of country. You would also be surprised how many of these women are new to the political process (working and raising a family does not normally include making homemade signs, showing up at rallies and being politically active). They have been awakened, and you would be smart to realize that that's what is happening (oh, and we are NOT racist, and invite all colors and creeds to join).
Just as I was wondering if there were any Republicans in Congress worth saving from the "Big Purge," one shows up.
Good job!
You are exactly right. Women who care about what we are leaving our future generations, because of the past decades of action and nonaction by Congress, are trying to make people realize that the happenings in our goverment over the past year have us on a slippery slope where there may be no going back.
The present healthcare bill is the greatest abomination of all and if passed there WILL be no going back. By the time people wake up to what has happened reversal is impossible and socialism is here.
Scott, idiot, Michelle Bachman is in the House of Representatives, not the US Senate.
Talk about proving your stupidity…

Hatch is a career politician; every time he opens his mouth he lies, just like all career politicians.
indeed. but the post i was referring to did not mention the House. you can look above to see it, but quoting word for word:
"Maybe the GOP leadership needs to take some lessons from the female side of their party"
so i took the opportunity to point out that 25% of the republican women in the senate voted for Obama's health care reform. indeed, maybe the GOP leadership does need to take some lessons from the female side of their party.
Scott, you aren't familiar with The Communist Manifesto or Das Kapital are you? Have you ever read The Theory and Practice of Communism? Marxism has a hierarchy of values, and structures accompanying same. Moderates support the very structures (after buying into Marxist premises) that define Marxism qua Marxism, only they are too ignorant to recognize it; and simply because they cannot recognize it for what it is, doesn't make their support any less than what it IS – a slow, decades-long march into total monopoly power over the means of production (where the true means of production are human beings and their animating principle, not a machine or a factory or capital). Moderates are co-operating in their own enslavement, one day at a time: they have been co-opted, they forge their own chains one link at a time, whilst thanking their would-be controllers for at least giving them the freedom to determine iron or stainless steel. Average Americans have been indocrinated to see revolution as a discrete event, a singular moment of bloodshed and turmoil, but the truth is (in so far as Lenin spoke "truth"), is that monopoly-power over humans, taking place in a moment, is the exception, not the rule.
Dude, you screwed up.
>> "Maybe the GOP leadership needs to take some lessons from the female side of their party"
>> all four of them… (one of them being Olympia Snowe)
There are clearly more than 4 women in the GOP. Admit it, you made a mistake. It will make you feel much better.
It's called personal responsibility. It's a conservative trait. Oops! I guess that's why you can't admit it…
[...] A video interview with Michele Bachmann, discussing Pelosi health care bill, provided by Big Government: [...]
"the whole Tea Party movement is being spearheaded by mostly very educated women"
not really. the national "teaparty express" is spearheaded by a handful of conservative think tanks like multi-million dollar AFP, wholly owned by coch industries, a.k.a. the coal lobby. check out their "touring partners" on their website. it's a literal "who's who" of the fat cat conservative political action committees.
http://www.teapartyexpress.org/
or is that not the REAL teabag party?
the link i provided was specifically to the US senate. i did not mean to imply that there were only four women serving in various elected positions in the entire GOP in all offices across the entire country.
if that is what you think i meant, i am deeply deeply sorry that i confused you.
You didn't confuse me at all. You made a mistake. But you can't admit it. Because that would be taking personal responsibility. Liberals don't do that. (And you're proving it right now.)
At least your congressman isn't Cohen. I would be happy to trade.
yep, i read the communist manifesto in high school. by free choice.
and i do believe that if you base your world view through a lens that portrays everyone that disagrees with you as a marxist bent on destroying your way of life, you are indeed a paranoid, scared, and foolish little man.
the link clearly and plainly states what i was referring to.
i'm not used to audiences full of 12 year olds where i have to spell everything out… if overestimating the mental capacities of this forum was my mistake, i fully own up to it and pledge to try to never to do so again.
Members of Congress,
Are you listening? We don't want government control of our healthcare.

CM = a wilful misunderstanding of human nature, and a selecting facts to fit theory, rather than theory developing organically from observable, measurable, repeatable phenomenon. I don not care if anyone disagrees with me, it's not about "me"; and surely you can see the irony in "base your world view through a lens"? I do not categorize "everyone" that disagrees with "me" as a Marxist – do you think I am a friend of monarchy, or Fabianism, Jacobins or Fascists? I oppose their (several) thought on it's own terms, as I oppose Marxists (regardless of their unwillingness to honestly describe themselves). Scott, if I reduced Marxism to a set of 10 structural units, and a person supported eight of them, how would you describe that person? The person might not describe himself as a Marxist – he may never have even heard of the drunk, wife-beating, bitter, pervert – but that doesn't mean I am about to engage in games calculated to obfuscate the truth of the effect of his adherence merely because he – analagous to the Greeks on Mars Hill, worshipping the Agnostos Theos (the unknown god) – is himself unable to locate his beliefs by name and number.
Scott, seriously, are you that stupid? Your link is irrelevant. You responded to a call for the GOP to listen to the women in the part with "all four of them" which is clearly incorrect. Yes, your link was about the Senate, but so what? There's more than the Senate involved here.
Frankly, I think your response denigrated women and as a liberal you should be ashamed of yourself for doing so.
And, again, you can't admit the mistake; instead you hurl an insult. Wow. How "inclusive" of you…
she did retract.
but i wont. the next democratic congressman that goes to Cuba should stay there.
Oh … my … God …
OK, so liberals chastise the NATIONAL GOP for ignoring it's local GOP chapters/leaders, etc., saying how the NATIONAL GOP is marginalizing the party, i.e., (spelling it out for Scott who wont understand the point if I don't) that the NATIONAL and LOCAL parts to the GOP are different …
YET! The NATIONAL tea party (i.e., the people trying to co-opt the movement) is the SAME as the grassroots.
And yes, we are grassroots. Unlike the ACORN astro-turfers.
Scott, in war, you need to know your enemy. We know you, because you follow the manifestos that the first loonies on the left wrote for you.
You have no idea how to understand us, because you've spent your entire lives interpreting the Constitution, the Declaration of Independence and Federalist papers to suit your own needs, missing the truth in those documents.
You simply don't get it, because your eyes are sewn shut. And you're not alone. The media doesn't get it, neither does the Republican leadership. They seek to co-opt, which will lead to their downfall. But we will be there to pick up the pieces of this fine nation.
I pity you, because you have no idea what's coming, because you are in constant denial.
I just made my reservations!
None. Even the good ones.
And you will recognize the good ones because of the purge. Because they will be the ones supporting their successors as we clean house. The ones who are the wolves in sheep's clothing will be the ones crying foul, saying its unfair because they are good.
The good ones will accept that the purge is necessary to return the government to the people. The good ones will re-apply for their jobs in the next cycle, if their successor is failing in their duty the people.
Folks, it took me a long time to subscribe to this theory, but it is the right one. We will only take back control of Congress (and I mean from the faceless bureaucrats and career politicians, not the Democrat party per se) by sending a message loud and clear to them that they work for us.
And the sad fact is, that LIBERALS should agree with this, but are too scared to take the necessary steps.
Bachmann and Palin in 2012? Send a chill up the legs of conservatives and ice cold fear down the spine of liberals.
Why does that thought put a cheshire cat like grin on my face? Why can't I stop?
Muaaahahahaha.

Have you actually been to a tea party? You might find yourself having fun, enjoying the company of hot, smart chicks that show up, and learn a good civics lesson about personal responsibility, the pride of believing in the American people, and the values on which we were founded. Go sometime, I'm not kidding, you may have some revelations that are contrary to what the media has and is showing you.
You have it backwards, in that the Tea Party Express is not doing the funding and organizing, but they have come where they were INVITED by locals. I mean, good for them, but a couple of buses going around the country (whoever funded) do not represent the whole of people who call themselves conservative. Sure, there will be party-types-tail-hangers-on who want to get in front of the parade, but the parade started and is marching on without the GOP at its head or helm.
Yes, Scott, Really. Really. Our tea parties are not funded, organized or conducted in any way with the Republican party, as opposed to conservative individuals who are putting their time and wallets on the table because they care about their country, and are appalled at the current march to the left. I can speak to that which I have personal knowledge of.
Don't confuse scotty boy with facts; it makes his head hurt.
If he can't pull out any DNC talking points, he gets lost and resorts to posting insults.
The poor dear needs help, which is why he can't wait for ObamaCare.
You can't spell, neither can you explain your positions, but instead, rely on posting error filled links.
You really have now delved into hysterics. Off your meds again?
There are far more Americans calling themselves CONSERVATIVES than Liberals.
Even James Carville isn't as deranged as you are and that's saying a lot !
Lies, all you post are lies, DNC talking points, and crap from lefty sites/blogs.
You may vclaim that you're having "fun", but in reality, all the rest of us are laughing at YOU !.
Michelle Bachman has bigger balls than all the others on Capital Hill! I am proud of her and happy that someone in DC is speaking out about the truth. Anyone that doesn't get on board with her, contact their state rep's is going to find uncle Sam breathing down your throats with everything you do. And it's happening FAST. Don't wait.
I second that emotion.
McCarthy WAS a patriot — read a book that wasn't given to you at your publik school.
GOP Rep. Michele Bachmann has put out a call for a march on Washington DC at noon this Thursday to stop the government health care takeover.
Meet her on the steps of the Capitol.
More from Tea Party Patriots.

Ridiculous. More fear based "do it or you are not a patriot" propaganda that has yet to offer any proof of socialization other than personal opinion and say so. How many Tea Party protesters out there actually DON'T have health care insurance? How many of you have been denied health care for any reason or know someone who has been? I'd be willing to bet none of you. And somehow I feel confident in assuming that you all suffer from the social sickness of "not-enoughness" for which, unfortunately, there is no pharmaceutical magic drug. Where is the faith? Where is the Christianity to love and help thy fellow man? I support health care as a basic human right that is equivalent to liberty and justice for all. Enough with the scare tactics – just the facts please.
Wow! After listening to the Republicans new proposal on Health Care , thought I was watching Comedy central . That is not a proposal it's a joke . I support the Democrats Health care program , it may not be perfect but it is a step in the right direction. The loss of the life of any one child due to the lack of Health care is more important than all the money in the world, but I guess that the party of "no" does not seem to care.
Tom
god you people are idiots. can't believe I have to share this country with you.
As plan B, the republicans and Independents need to be working on a plan to repeal this bill (if passed) as soon as we regain control of the congress. Make no mistake, the Democrats will be left reeling after the Nov. 2010 elections. Probably to such an extent that they will not recover for decades.
I cannot believe how unbelievably insensitive this group is to the majority of Americans………………..They are about to learn a very hard lesson.
[...] I believe Rep. Bachmann does a good job at explaining things on this video clip from BigGovernment.com. [...]
Michelle:
Please take time to read the bill. Do not throw it on the ground, read it! Where is your alternative??? Do you want to meet with the President? Come up with something that is viable. Quit throwing tantrums, and present a plan to prevent thousands of Americans from dying from lack of health care.
Scaremonger.
“I believe she is a Patriot, and is definitely someone to watch.”
Yes. I like to watch.
She's a paranoid wackbat. Does she honestly believe that this isn't about health care, and that its just about government takeover? Jesus. "This is it for freedom and rejecting tyranny?" Doubtful. You want my respect? Lay out the pros and cons and I'll evaluate what is best.
Why doesn't Michelle Bachman realize that when she quotes from the Constitution, she's really quoting from the Declaration of Independence? Also, when she spews hatred and has a picture of Dachau in the picture, that she talks to someone who is a Holocaust survivor? She's not a breath of fresh air, she's a bitter taste of hate.

Michelle Bachman has it all over Sarah. I like Sarah, but, she just needs to get some more experience, and be up on anything that can be thrown at her. Michelle would be a far better choice of nominee for Prez in my humble opinion. And her good looks definately don't hurt her chances.
I wish we didn't have Amazed. I'm tired of paying for people like you, and for the deadbeat, freeloading scum you elevate. All the liberal States are bankrupt, and rely on the common-sense of the red states. Stick that in your pipe and blow it out your A..!
Stop using fear mongering and the false banner of socialism to incite the ignorant majority of Americans. Any of you who buy into the big government b.s. and the socialism b.s. are simply products of a failing public education system that did not properly educate you on what is reality, and what is fiction. All this talk of a government take over of health is false. We do not have the best healthcare system in the world in fact we are not even top ten in outcomes, we only have the best specialized medicine like plastics and other specialized procedures. Also insurance companies are not operating in a free market if you call two companies or in some cases 1 controlling almost the entire market free market then you also didn't learn standard economics. Finally, if you and Michelle Bachmann have such a problem with socialized programs an socialism, then please make sure when you reach retirement age you send back your social security checks to the government, ohh and dont go to the doctor on medicares tab.
Just E. Rife with violence and sexism. This woman is nuts.
“This [health care reform] cannot pass…What we have to do today is make a covenant, to slit our wrists, be blood brothers on this thing. This will not pass. We will do whatever it takes to make sure this doesn’t pass…Right now, we are looking at reaching down the throat and ripping the guts out of freedom. And we may never be able to restore it if we don’t man up and take this one on.” M.B.
