Drillgate: Internal Emails Shows Obama Team Lying to Public
by Vince HaleyIf you’re the President of the United States or one of his political appointees and you’re ideologically opposed to new oil and natural gas development offshore, what do you do when the public registers its overwhelming support for new drilling in public opinion polls?

You dance, delay, and deceive. You speak melodious words about seeking the wisdom of the public in making these decisions and then ignore evidence of the public will when you get it, or worse, you hide it.
First came the dance. In August 2008, after soaring gas prices and a dramatic shift in public opinion caused President Bush, Florida Governor Charlie Crist, and Republican presidential candidate John McCain to reverse their positions on offshore drilling, then-Senator Obama also changed. The Democratic presidential nominee reversed his own position and that of his party, saying he was open to offshore drilling as part of an overall energy plan. The Democratic Congress followed a month later by quietly dropping the 25-year Congressional ban on offshore drilling.
Then came the delay. In January 2009, President Obama inherited a draft five year offshore drilling plan prepared by the outgoing Bush administration. The plan was already receiving public comment as part of the elaborate rule making process followed by federal agencies. Ken Salazar, Obama’s new Secretary of Interior, determined the decision about new offshore drilling was so important that he ordered a six-month extension to the comment period.
Third comes the dishonesty.
In April of 2009, during a discussion about offshore exploration in San Francisco, Salazar said that President Obama directed him to “to make sure that we have an open and transparent government” and that “these are not decisions that are going to be made behind closed doors.” Salazar went on to say that President Obama wanted to make sure that DOI was “maximizing the opportunity for the public to give us guidance on what it is that they want to do.”
Yet, more than four months after the comment period ended, the Department of the Interior has failed to make any public announcement about the results, even though sources have told American Solutions for months the comments show a 2-1 advantage in support of offshore drilling.
It took American Solutions almost four months and the power of the Freedom of Information Act to finally uncover indirect confirmation that, out of over 530,000 comments submitted, pro-drilling comments outnumbered anti-drilling comments by a 2-1 margin.
In an email dated October 27, 2009, Liz Birnbaum, director of the Minerals Management Service, informs other Interior officials that a preliminary tabulation of the results of the comment period had not yet gone to Secretary Salazar, adding “[s]o the Secretary can honestly say in response to any questions that he’s [SIC] has not yet seen the analysis of the comments – staff is still working on it. I did, however, confirm to him the 2-1 split that these guys [at American Solutions] are emphasizing.”
When a public employee is on record condoning purposeful deception of the American people, the taxpayer should no longer have to fund his or her job. Secretary Salazar should immediately fire Liz Birnbaum for purposefully deceiving him, and in turn, the American people. It’s not possible for the Secretary to honor pledges of openness, honestly, and transparency in government if his staff is going to deliberately undermine such pledges.
Public opinion polls already measure near 70% support for offshore drilling, so the results from a public comment period that reflect the same public sentiment should not be surprising. But after all this talk of wanting the public’s input, Secretary Salazar and his team must find it a real stumbling block to have to explain all their anti-energy development actions in light of the comment period results to which they previously attached such great importance.
This newly gained insight into the anti-energy exploration mindset within the Department of the Interior allows a new perspective of President Obama’s mention of offshore development in his recent State of the Union address. Here is the one paragraph in which the President described offshore development:
But to create more of these clean energy jobs, we need more production, more efficiency, more incentives. And that means building a new generation of safe, clean nuclear power plants in this country. It means making tough decisions about opening new offshore areas for oil and gas development. It means continued investment in advanced biofuels and clean coal technologies. And, yes, it means passing a comprehensive energy and climate bill with incentives that will finally make clean energy the profitable kind of energy in America.
To the passive listener, it sounded like President Obama expressed at least rhetorical support for offshore drilling.
But the President only says we must make “tough decisions” on offshore drilling, deliberately refusing to apply that standard to other decisions on energy.
But tough for whom? Certainly not for the public that overwhelmingly supports more offshore drilling.
Indeed, the only person facing a tough decision is the President since an important part of his political base is opposed to new American energy development.
Bucking public opinion would indeed be a tough decision for this President, but he has shown himself quite comfortable with bucking public opinion to pursue stunningly unpopular policies on health care and cap and trade.
In short, it’s a fair conclusion that the tough decisions the President identified in his State of the Union was his intended decision not to pursue any new offshore oil and gas development. The actions by Salazar and his team are entirely consistent with that conclusion.
What makes all of this dispiriting, especially this month, is that with 15 million Americans out of work and with the President’s recently submitted budget projecting trillion dollar annual deficits for the next ten years and a near tripling of the national debt by 2020, the President is throwing away a golden opportunity over the next three decades to create millions of new jobs and generate more than $270 billion in annual economic growth from new oil and gas development, including $54 billion annually in federal tax receipts that could help lower the federal deficit and the national debt.
These extraordinary benefits of job creation and economic growth – all without requiring any federal spending – are, sadly, not on President Obama’s agenda, notwithstanding all the phony rhetoric to the contrary.
Indeed, we can look forward to the President’s continued strategy of dance, delay, and deceive.

Obama lying to the American people?
Must be a slow news day.
It didn't take a rocket scientist to figure that one out. Good thing too! They're all over in Iran working on payload equations.
"Secretary Salazar should immediately fire Liz Birnbaum for purposefully deceiving him, and in turn, the American people."
Yeah…We'll get Eric Holder right on that. Just as soon as he prosecutes the New Black Panthers, ACORN, KSM, the Fort Hood shooter, the Panty Bomber, Osama Bin Hidin, Charlie Rangle, Chris Dodd, Van Jones, you get the idea…
Let's put this as simple as possible.. President Obama "YOU LIE"…
Yeah, and that scares the SH!TE outta me…!!! I have a bad feeling that Israel may cease to exist after Thursday…I pray that Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is just a blowhard, and they are actually just bluffing…God I pray…
HI there! I'm John Doe and Im starting an oil and gas company. I have 75 million saved as start up money and plan to hire 300 people to get the company off the ground.
Could someone loan me a billion dollars so i can get permission from the government to stick a pipe in the ground?
Thanks in advance for all your support!
How obtuse and ignorant can one man, one congress, one political party be. Jeez, what if there were one thing, a silver bullet if you will, that would create jobs, stick it to terrorists, reduce the deficit, reduce energy costs for millions of americans, all with minimal negative consequences. Hey Drill for Oil in America, wow. Wait, but alas, no, we would risk the possiblility of offending our friends in the Sierra Club. Give me a break, get these people out of power in DC and put in people with the common sense to offer solutions that work.
The Left's fear of off-shore drilling (or nuclear energy for that matter) is like the people who decorate their house with white leather furniture and white wall-to-wall carpeting, then don't want anyone to wear shoes inside or eat or drink anything anywhere but in the terra cotta-tiled kitchen. Life is not pristine and if accidents happen (and they would be rare), they could be cleaned up. We can't turn our entire way of living upside down to accommodate those with incredibly high/impossible-to-meet standards.
MARXIST=DEMOCRATS=TERRORIST All the same ask the Liar and Chief Obama……YOUBETCHA
This is just another example of how this President relentlessly dissembles to deceive! "Man speaks with forked tongue!" His whole tactic appears to be to constantly say one thing to lead people to believe one thing, while he takes opposing ACTIONS once the cameras and teleprompters are turned off. Turn off the television, America, when he comes on, and pay attention instead to what he DOES!
And what does this say about the way he views most Americans? That he thinks we're a bunch of stupid imbeciles who are too dim-witted to understand, too ignorant to pay attention to what he's really doing, and complacent to care! That's why his response to public rejection of his agenda is to hire a CAMPAIGN MANGER! Elitism personified!
Obama is so utterly, contemptibly, and irredeemably deceitful that not a single syllable from his mouth can be believed!
He thinks we're too busy clinging to our guns and our bibles to notice…
This (and many other) actions/inactions may not be considered "high crimes" but, IMHO, they are definitely "misdemeanor(s)" as originally intended by our founding fathers when they outlined what constituted grounds for impeachment. Why is there no talk of impeaching an incompetent president who seems hellbent on destroying our Republic???
I honestly believe O has every intention of taking our country down. I agree that he will continue to "dance, delay, and deceive." He is about distributive wealth and socializing this country. That is what he meant when he said, "We are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America."
He will tell America what they want to hear and move in the direction he has mapped out with no regard for the "we the people." We have ten more months before he is a lame duck and it is none to soon for me.
Want off-shore drilling to commence? Require all off-shore platform constuction and drilling jobs be SEIU unionized. You will have so many platforms that ships will have a hard time getting to port. Somehow the oil will be more expensive that any other oil in the world but…
Enjoy…

Because, you Know the Obama won't do a damn thing either to help Israel or to dissuade Iran…
At least the Israelis will give better than they might get…
I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the Democrat majorities in the House and the Senate…but the winds have changed direction and November is coming…
It's all part of the plan of the obamasoros plan. Wake up America!

" What makes all of this dispiriting "
Dispiriting? Read all the comments on this thread.
Doesn't sound like people are disipirited at all . . . sounds like we're all pissed as hell and ready to throw the bums out
in a spirited fashion.
We may need to find a more eco friendly alternative to tar, but I like the idea nonetheless…LOL
That's why the M134 mini-gun was invented.
Ahmadinejad is just a mouth piece, he bows to the will of the Supreme Leader & fellow Twelver, Grand Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is the SOB with the itchy trigger finger & the Twelvers is one of those groups so scary that even the Grand Ayatollah Ruhollah Mousavi Khomeini was afraid of them
Seems to me this is part of the left's grand scheme to make the U.S. more, not less, dependent on the rest of the world. It's not enough that our manufacturing jobs are being driven to other countries with over regulation now they don't even want us able to access our own natural resources. If they had their way we would be buying our gasoline from over seas as well.
The left thinks of the U.S. as greedy and selfish and all along they overlook the fact that Americans have always worked for what they have. It's what made our nation great. Real Americans never asked for free ride and only even asked for hand outs in shame and disgrace. Today free rides and hand outs are a way of life for many and the Left only seems to encourage it.
California has some of the largest nartural gas reserves in the country. It is estimated that the state would receive about $13 billion a year in royalties. What do the politicians do? Push to legalize pot so they can get a few $million in sales tax revenues.
Under BHO, the sun has set on drilling here. Previously determined BS.
It really seems that everything this administration does goes against the people, the Constitution, and the American way of life! Any reasonable person must conclude that either the administration is full of the dumbest people one could find or is trying to remake the country into a third world nation based on failed Marxist, Socialist, Communist, Progressive policies in direct conflict with the Constitution. Of coarse most here know this but, come on people we need to make more noise and wake up those who are still asleep!
And Obama will set in the west.
To get the building to fall; one must first knock down the supports.
Speaking of legalized pot, the fellow on the recent US Air flight who got high and dropped his pants, only to then be dropped by a black belt stewardess, is an artsy type.
Take a look at a piece he recently sold…

Irony, thy name is Ganja.
Question: Have behind the door deals been made with countries that allow them to tap into our oil supplies?
Just asking because none of this makes sense.
Well-played, sir!
obanocchio rules the kingdom of lies. That headline was some revelation.
I am reminded of ol' Slick Willie declaring our greatest reserves of clean-burning anthracite coal a national park, thereby rendering said reserves unusable. He was just helping out a Malaysian friend and big time donor, who so happened to be sitting on the other major world reserve of anthracite.
Obama lied? shocking absolute shocking!
Excellent Article: Somewhat obvious in other similar articles published here that this is happening. After approvals by the Fed will come the 'court cases'. But in all seriousness what is suggested that We the People do about it, and I'm not talking about 2010 elections in November. Since it's the executive department doing these things and that will not change for at least 3 years, how DO we leverage to push Oil which we will need for at least another 50 years best case? Nuclear which is the best solution to electrical generation!
BREAKING NEWS: Obama Tells No Lies For 24 Hours
ANY republican who is taken in by the Oblama's rhetoric needs to be ousted from office, (Graham) Every time he mentions nuclear and oil just know that he is lying. Drilling for our own oil IS the silver bullet for our economy. But in some ways I am glad they are not doing it. If they had additional revenues they would merely expand their socialist agenda. The only rational solution is to get these pretenders out of office.
There's no excuse, but there are reasons. One is that a strong, independent and sovereign America is an impediment to international rule. One way to weaken America is to make it dependent on foreign energy sources.
I'll say this; if this country committed to developing domestic oil and gas, we could change the world in a decade. Commodity prices for oil would drop around the world. "Rich" middle eastern countries would be forced to develop real physical economies or face bankruptcy and civil unrest. Terrorist support would dry up as American dollars would no longer go to enriching islamic sheikdoms. Our own military could be deployed to defend our own shores instead of the oil fields in the middle east. Europe would have an alternative to purchasing resources from russia, diminishing that stranglehold. Venezuela would lose the petrodollars that support its communist regime.
These are just a few of the consequences of domestic energy development. Imagine what we could accomplish if we sewed up our borders.
Actions speak louder than words, except when those actions are willfully ignored by the media. The great Oblamer cannot even take his morning dump without deceiving the public on,,,,,,,,,anything!
Hey. I saw that headline on a tabloid at the supermarket. It also read, "Aliens teleport ferret's brain into Joe Biden's head. His IQ doubles."
Encourage it??? Government dependency is their core belief!!!
Look no further than the democratic utopias of Detroit and New Orleans for a glimpse of our national future. Oh yeah, and look to California as the model for fiscal responsibility.
Costa Rica is looking better and better every day……….
must have been one dumb ferret to only double his i.q.
can i instead just mouth not true?
That makes sense to me. What else could be the possible reason for not tapping into out won resources. We have the means within our borders to be self-sufficient in the very near future.
Well, they didn't teleport his old brain out, you see. There was plenty of unused space in his skull. The article said they also set up a Starbucks in there.
RW&J, you beat me to it!!!
That was one of the slickest moves that Slick willie ever did, though there were many close seconds. His having done that scored him big points with the 'watermellons' (green on the outside) and helped the chinese at the same time. Side note: It seems rather amusing that the left is so irrate over the Citizens United decision because of the 'possible' influence of foreign interest in our national elections when it is already happening. Don't you recall how Oblamer shut off the identifiers on his 'internet donations' so we could not find out how much was being bundled from foreign nationals. they are all just a bunch of HYPOCRITES.
DEFUND THE EPA!!! Even oblamer does not appreciate how destructive the EPA is. Assuming his loser idea of windmills ever gets going, the EPA will stop it because the trenching for the power lines would violate some other EPA directive. Even 'green' energy will not be 'green' enough for these EPA vigilantes.
how about all gas stations need seiu members to punp gas? we will never see more oil in our lifetime. but a gallon will cost 20 bucks, but well woth the investment, do you have a problem with that?
True that! ONe has to wonder about the motives. He's either as dumb as a box of rocks or evil. I believe he's both.
the dispiriting, is we need to wait until november!
Obama being the opposite of truthful? Wow. Color me surprised. (was that racist?)
None of this surprises me, but what I fail to understand is, why is our govt so opposed to energy independence? We have the oil and gas to power our nation, but we refuse to take advantage of it. Is it really easier to wage war all over the world in order to "protect our interests" (access to oil and gas). Alternative energy for the future sounds like a great idea to everyone, but the reality is that current technology is expensive, inefficient and will take many years to implement. Why not do both? Make the oil and gas resources that we have available now while at the same time encouraging development of alternatives for the future. When these alternatives are ready, market forces will bring about their implementation without any force required by big govt.
When Obama speaks; there are always two meanings. One for the multitude of optimists to buy into and the other for the co-conspirators. Teleprompters insure precision.
I’ll not listen to such blasphemy, Barry is our savior…right?
The state of California will eventually go into default and seek a federal bailout to stay afloat. But they will not develop their resources that would benefit the country. Natural gas, oil, and even food production are being strangled in that "progressive" state. If the people of California will not use their own resources to benefit themselves and the rest of the nation, they simply don't deserve any help from the rest of the country.
With the Oblamer shutting down NASA and 'outsourcing' our space program, can you blame the scientists and engineers looking overseas for work? Their other choice is to cross train into window caulking for the green jobs.
If that turns out to be the case,,,who do you think will be paying top euro (not $) for this talent???
Achmangetajob or Kim little wong IL.
People won't believe that MAD won't keep these people in check until it's too late. See, the Soviets wanted to actually rule the world, but the Iranian leadership simply wants to end it.
TOTAL AGREEMENT, let them fail!!!
There's even a technology out there that allows us to make cleaner oil and coal out of both existing stocks of oil and coal _and_ out of organic debris. They had a test plant out here in MO for a while that churned out roughly 80-100 barrels of oil a day from turkey guts. Last I heard, they'd been chased overseas and were only working to improve the efficiency of the process. Now imagine if we actually pursued that technology with a will. We could theoretically turn our raw sewage into cheap oil and gas, mine our waste dumps for organic materials to recycle, etc. Of course, it means staying with a petroleum-based economy and therein lies the rub.
This Liar and Chief never will have the intention to allow this country to be governed by the People of the United States. These idiots cannot even tie their own shoes, much less determine the ability to become self-sufficient in energy production. They’d rather send money to our enemies, making them stronger and more aggressive towards us than keep us safe and self-sufficient. It should be no surprise that these morons chose to put a halt the efforts originating with Bush on increased drilling off our coasts which ultimately allows foreign countries coming near our turf and capitalizing on our own energy sources.
These boneheads will never realize that alternative energy originates from the private sector and to demand alternative energy applications while refusing to provide incentives to these private companies will not move forward any energy alternatives. And it’s because they are clueless idiots, plain and simple. The Oil and Gas Industry IS this country’s life-blood and to constantly criminalize their efforts plays in with their socialistic agendas. America, it is way past time to become involved in the political process and take back this country which is rightfully ours to control. Repeat after me: America is a country of, by and for the people!
Kim little wong IL…
Thanks for the smile…!
Are you kidding? I doubt it when the House and Senate are both controlled by his party and they happen to be even less competant than he is.
CA is becoming the perfect argument and example of what the Founders had in mind. Let them doom themselves with their disastrous policies, but when they finally collapse, keep them insulated so that the rest of the nation doesn't go down with them.
Outstanding post.
I would just rather Barry come out and say, "I know you all think that drilling for offshore oil -or even drilling in ANWAR or within the continental US- is the right thing to do to bridge the gap to reliable forms of renewable energy. But -now wait a minute- but, if we were to do that -now, now, hold on- if we were to do that, then I would simply be allowing some future president to get all the credit for that transition. Hold on, now, wait a second, now… Look, I know that this is going to painful -and, wait, now- painful and expensive (pausing for interruptive catcalls) but…but…but it is important that we do this right! I ran on this, I won the election, I should get credit for setting the country on the path to reliable renewable energy! So no, I've made the tough decision already -in fact, I made that decision during the campaign- and I have no intention of altering it, regardless of what some silly polls or focus group studies show. Thank you. No questions."
At least we'd be seeing some level of honesty from the man.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xtS6K43np9o
I'd like to see this as part of our comprehensive energy policy. Not only does it remove the chemical impurities from the oil it creates setting those aside as pure chemicals to be sold, but it also feeds itself, using it's own energy to power the process.
Neither the Obama administration, nor any other Democrat administration, ever will support more drillilng. An open market conflicts with socialist aspirations.
Sometime during the next few years, gasoline prices will again rise sharply thankfully sealing his fate as a one term president. Americans are currently asleep on this issue because gas prices have remained relatively low since the big spike in 2008. Obama's and the Democrat's duplicity on this issue will come to the forefront further diminishing their standing with the American people.
No.
This admin does so love drilling!
We've invested $2B of US taxpayer dollars in drilling offshore….Brazil. And, we don't get any oil. Just whatever interest that George Soros is willing to pay us for the use of our money.
This is the other story that can't get any real play…
That is not an accurate statement—-We are the party of HELL NO
I think we should all remember that weaning ourselves off of foreign oil will not reduce the price of the oil. That is set by the commodities market. Also, how do we refine the oil that we draw out of the ground? We haven’t built a new refinery in over 30 years. That is due to environmentalists and their lawsuits to stop the construction of new, safer ones. Note that this has nothing to do with generating electricity. It only affects transportation. But, if they get their way, we will all be driving electric cars that will need recharging on a regular basis instead of building a better electric car that generates its own power. That should be the “holy grail” energy independence. Finally, oil supplies are a national security issue. Take a lesson from history, the battle of the bulge ended mostly because German forces ran out of fuel for their tanks and trucks.
Reality is a difficult thing to deal with when you are a crack-head or a kool-aid drinker. These are Somethings Californians have far too many of.
California is a communicable mental disease that need erradication, a simple innoculation is not enough. When a limb atrophies you need to CUT-IT-OFF
I remember when it was called the GAU-2 A/B…
GE…when they brought good things to life…
I would assume that headline to be a lie.
Boy oh boy have you got him down! I could just hear his off TOTUS stuttering while reading your words. Every now and then he does let the curtain drop but those losers in the media let every opportunity to expose his (naivity, stupidity, marxist leanings, redistributive beliefs, hate america attitude,,you name it) gaffs go by the wayside.
On the plus side, the TEA party is getting traction and the idiot dems can't help but keep screwing themselves whilst they screw us, November will be a rude though well anticipated awakening for the scum, but we cannot let up for even a minute, too much at stake.
Exactly. Libs want us to be interdependent, not independent. If we are independent, we are free, and can therefore think and act for ourselves. Freedom of thought is the enemy of liberalism.
Let's hope there is still something to save. I love this country and all it used to stand for!
Castrate the EPA is the ONLY WAY
The American people are fed up. Get ready for Revolution2010 and the greatest turnout of office of career politicians in American history.
Price is a matter of supply and demand thus if we increase our production prices may fall if they (OPEC) don't decrease their production. We would be able to use our refineries as the amount of oil refined in the USA would remain the same; more crude from the USA less from OPEC/ foreign countries. And yes it is a national security issue if we can't provide the fuel we need then our supply can be shutdown even a small reduction in supply would/could cause huge problems for the country.
Haven't we gotten past the "OUR OPINION MATTERS" discussion yet. We are well on our way to Progressive paradise so PLS shut up and let your betters decide for you.

This Liar and Thief never will have the intention to allow this country to be governed by the People of the United States. Even our experts are not qualified enough to convince this government on energy. It's because this administration considers us all illiterates. They'd rather send money to our enemies, making them stronger and more aggressive towards us than keep us safe and self-sufficient. Spain went into the green job gambit some time ago and a recent study found that for every 1 green job created, 2.2 jobs were eliminated in other sectors of their economy. Spain has an unemployment rate approaching 20%. Green jobs are related to the manufacture, installation and operation/maintenance of windmills, solar panels, etc. Our doofus in chief is so entrenched in his ideology, he is incapable of learning from the experience of others. He also does not care what green energy costs. A few months ago, he went to a solar energy installation in Florida which cost $150 million to provide power to 3000 homes. That came to $50 thousand per home. Most green energy is not cost effective and is made possible only with heavy taxpayer subsidies which is in line with Obama's spread the wealth around approach to everything. Yes, he is a socialist. In his own words, "nobody can dispute that".
I only stated that so it doesn't become part of the discussion, I hope< because it really won't change the price, but their are those who sell that as an implied benefit.

This certainly is typical of everything else this administration has done from the get go.Joe Wilson was right. You will never be able to trust ,not only what they do But also what they say.I`m not a teabagger but imay have to take that under consideration. We have to have some sanity from the top down.
All we have to do is look at Brazil. They are thriving because of the exploration and extraction of oil. We are being left in the dust and will soon become a nation of the poor and so dependent on government to take care of us. Isn't that the agenda the left is hoping for? Wake up and be heard America! Drill Baby Drill!!!
sounds like you're willing to believe anything that is put in front of you. I say wait and see. Call the whitehouse because i am going to after i write this.
based on an article that def is red meat for people who are already against the whole idea of the Obama Admin…be honest you don't like him and would believe an article with words
"[Left-leaning Hollywood personalities] are uninteresting, they’re vicious, they’re vitriolic, they’re really, really not good people. I’m willing to say that on the record. You could probe them scientifically and anthropologically and prove that they’re not good people….[The Hollywood left] is a stale group of people who are recycling the same old bad ideas that don’t work. Why else would those people go to the stinky side?"
—Meet Andrew Breitbart, self-proclaimed rebel-king of L.A.'s underground conservative movement (interview), 2008[1] the comment above is from a guy i would not listen to,get the facts before you decide if what he wrote is legit
Before resigning as Governor of Alaska Sarh Palin signed a contract with Trans Canada to build a natural gas pipeline. And a contract with Exon Mobile to move natural gas from underground to the pipeline. There is enough natural gas underground in Alaska to power the Entire U.S.A. for 35 years. Of course it will 1) take time to get it done, ( so, starting NOW would be wise). 2) It doesn't all have to be used at once. The current methods can be used in conjunction with the Natural Gas when it is ready. 3) Other states like the Dakotas & Nevada also have Natural Gas reserves. Someone, like President Palin in 2012, need to get that started. Add 4) wind, solar, nuclear etc. in the future, as it will take years to develop these sources.
The current administration will do NOTHING to create NEW energy sources. While Sarah Palin already got the ball rolling in Alaska. Right after she rescinded Exon Mobiles 25 year lease which allowed it to OWN the oil in Alaska. She said Sorry, no renewel, and no one will own Alaskas oil or natural gas.
