The Communist States of America: The New Stimulus ‘Math’

Trying to count the number of jobs created or saved may have been a fool’s errand that needlessly undermined the credibility of the overall reporting effort.”
No kidding. Now, the AP reports that the White House
has abandoned its controversial method of counting jobs under President Barack Obama’s economic stimulus, making it impossible to track the number of jobs saved or created with the $787 billion in recovery money. Despite mounting a vigorous defense of its earlier count of more than 640,000 jobs credited to the stimulus, even after numerous errors were identified, the Obama administration now is making it easier to give the stimulus credit for hiring. It’s no longer about counting a job as saved or created; now it’s a matter of counting jobs funded by the stimulus.
I see. So like in Communist Russia, from now on, in America, economic growth and efficiency or wealth creation won’t be the goal of public policies. It’s all about hiring someone to dig a hole and hiring another one to fill it up and counting it as two jobs.
The administration must be aware of how bad this would look since the “new rules” were “quietly published last month in a memorandum to federal agencies. . . . The new rules are intended to streamline the process, said Tom Gavin, spokesman for the White House’s Office of Management and Budget.”
Way to go team Obama!

I heard Obama created over 44 million jobs all by himself. Too bad those jobs were in China, India and Kenya.
The Democrats aren't even trying to create jobs in the US, if they did, it would erase their efforts to take over health care system and they would have cut taxes across the boards already.
Government spending stops job growth at every level. It never ceases to amaze me that the Left doesn't get it.

Statistics are to politics, as the 'Hope and Change Index' is to Obama. Both are irrelevant.

Import all our products from China under a stupid theory given the propaganda term "Free Trade."
Lose our wealth and our security and our sovereignty in the process of above.
Give BILLIONS of dollars to a foreign country that attacked us: Israel
Have to deal with the BILLIONS of enemies we create by supporting Israel
Have to deal with higher oil prices because of our support for Israel (and that drains the economy enormously.)

Can you imagine someone in the 50's voicing this plan? No. Because then people were loyal to this country and had common sense. In short, a neocon would have been skinned alive then. Now they are given positions in universities and in the media.
Let's not forget that the self-employed who lose thier businesses can NOT collect unemployment dispite that they have paid unemployment insurance. How about factoring in all small businesses that have had to close. They aren't even counted. Unemployment is much worse than our comrades in the gov't tell us.

Statistics was the only "math" class I ever failed. I took college Calculus and received a B and still failed Stats 101. It was the most f'd up math I had ever dealt with.

If I savvy this new Obama math, that would equate to two jobs: a hole digger, and a hole filler. Add in one supervisor, to supervise the two manual laborers, and an assistant supervisor to gopher, that tallys up to four jobs. Include a Union Representative, and a Shop Steward, and we are now at SIX JOBS created, or saved, to dig and fill a hole that we didn't need to start with.

Exactly, you can make numbers look anyway you want, it's all in the presentation, don't like the real unemployment rate, OK, we will break it up into 6 groups & make a complex math formula that looks impressive for each group & give a hollow, long winded explanation of why we should look at the smaller number & ignore the larger number that makes us look bad.
I guess Obama never learned that when you find yourself in a hole; you stop digging.

Team Obama could take credit for creating a LOT MORE jobs by analyzing how many people die in America and subtracting the number of retired persons from that.
When a worker dies, someone needs to fill the position. It's like a "job created", right?

Checked my local paper this week for job listings. There was ONE listing. Yes……. ONE job listing along with a number of scams. If he keeps creating jobs at this rate, next week there might be TWO listings. What will he think of next?
A friend of mine recently visited Copenhagen. Denmark is the land of seventy-five percent tax-rates. Doctors, business owners, etc. live comparably to the construction worker, truck driver, etc.
My friend was impressed with the overall cleanliness of the city, but one day as he was walking down the street he reached down to pick up a candy wrapper to deposit into the trash can. His Danish host scolded him, "Don't do that! We have people here whose responsibility is to pick up small debris from the street."
Which made me think, that's what we need here – A "Wrapper Picker-Upper Czar". Just think how many jobs can be created or saved.

Cowboy you forgot the critical governement oversight committee that was enacted to ensure that the hole dug met the required specifications, the dirt analyzed, sifted, and moved to a mutually agreed location during the digging process, then a competitive bidding process for a company to be hired to move the dirt back to it's original location…in the hole.
