Dateline NBC: To Catch an ACORN Organizer
by Tim SlagleI’m not sure why I bothered to sign up for MySpace. My manager assured me that it would be good for my career, but that was a long time ago, way back when it was okay to call the President a liar. I signed up too late, because MySpace just isn’t cool anymore. The idea behind my page was to introduce a new generation to my stand-up comedy, and help me develop a fan base. Instead it’s making people think I’m a sexual predator.
I get friend requests all the time now, from shirtless teenage boys who are into skateboarding, and old dudes, and I can tell right away, that it’s a cop. (I’m beginning to think there isn’t anybody really on MySpace anymore, just pedpophiles and cops.) Every police force in America has at least one or two full-time officers pretending to be teenagers, and trolling through MySpace at all hours of the day. They’re looking for depraved lonely men, longing to do something despicable, and arranging meet-ups at the mall. The next thing you know, they’re starring on “NBC Dateline: To Catch A Predator.”
Over the four years the NBC series was on the air “To Catch a Predator” host Chris Hansen made a lucrative career out of setting up old men with fictional teenagers. He also got a lot of those men arrested. Apparently, intent to contribute to the delinquency of a fictional teenager is a crime in many jurisdictions.
The show was cancelled in December 2008. I’m guessing the producers were finding it hard to trap perverts anymore. With so many cops on MySpace, and the teenagers moved on to other social networking sites, I would guess they were starting to get cops hooking up accidentally. I was always hoping to catch the episode where two cops at the mall suddenly realize they had spent the last month online, having cyber-sex with each other.
Yet, MSNBC, home of Keith Olbermann, cannot get enough of the Predator series. A popular feature there is “Predator Raw: The Unseen Tapes.” This is a collection of previously recorded stings from the series, which never aired during its network run. In fact, on September 21, 2009 MSNBC will run another episode of the show.
Which leads me around to my point: If soliciting a fictional teenager for sex is a violation of the law, then CERTAINLY, aiding and abetting the importation of fictional teenagers into a US sex ring, is a crime at least as heinous.
So where is MSNBC on the ACORN scandal? Where is Chris Hansen? Where is Olbermann? Certainly “Predator Raw” viewers would be just as shocked and entertained watching ACORN employees being cuffed and led away, as they are watching fat old pedophiles. And if the ultimate reason behind the NBC series was to protect youth, certainly protecting the youth of El Salvador, kids who might have been kidnapped and brought into this country as slaves, is a mission equally noble.
Keith Olbermann has a very devoted fan base. People who watch him religiously, watch him exclusively. They also consider themselves well informed, despite only getting the news that Keith is willing to report. So why is he keeping them in the dark?
Come on Keith, you can’t hide it from them forever.

Personally, and in my opinion, the reason MSNBC cannot get enough of the predator, is because there are more than enough sexual freaks and perverts at MSNBC, that none of them could go within 1000 feet of a school.

I stopped watching what they call the local channels over ten years ago except during football season.After NBC got NFL games I had to stop watching halftime on NBC because of Keith Doofusman.

I loved that show though… once in a while someone runs a channel looping episodes of it on justin.tv… but it hasn't been on for a while…
Keith Olbermann strikes me as a fairly smart guy, too smart to believe the nonsense that he spews. It's possible that he has become so partisan as to be completely delusional, but I will give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he knows that his show and much of MSNBC is simply a farce.

In response to the article why they run TCAP and not the acorn videos -we all know hypocrisy is normal for the msm,hollywood,and most government officials.Perhaps NBC doesn't run them because most of what they show on TCAP is overwhelmingly white guys-purposely.Acorn has an aweful lot of minorities in it's organization.It's not in their best interest to show any minority committing any crimes anymore.I personally dont see everything in color,but with NBC,White House,Acorn,etc always want to make it about race.So when I wrote the above it was trying to put myself in their "everyone should be equal in every aspect of life,(except for us of course)" mentality.

There seems to be an obsession on the left to understand the mind of evil people. All of MSNBC's programming between their daytime and primetime anchoring duties is devoted to analyzing either Charlie Manson's mind, being inside of a high security prison, or catching a sexual predator. On the other side of the coin FOX looks at war heroes with Oliver North. If you ever want to understand the difference between a mind of a liberal and a mind of a conservative, this is it. No wonder the left seems so open to evil people like Chavez and Castro, and willing to bring people like Ahmadinejad from Iran to the table. They're walking into the abyss and don't know the way back.

I try to be open minded, listen to all sides of the issues, Cable and Network TV but Mr Olbermann offends me. He is just to childish and closed minded.
I was shocked to see him duing the Super Bowl, he had to grow up fast to talk to those other men. He seemed to mature just for that program. Or maybe he was just scared.

Will MSNBC ever throw in the towel, or just continue to go down in flames? Their prime time line-up is consistently being beaten by Fox's morning show….and yet, they don't do anything to correct their course. Actually, Perverted Justice is sill performig stings and catching predators all across this great nation of ours. Recently, they caught nine pedophilles in a Michigan sting. I know several members of this organization and I am going to see what they think of ACORN. If they are allowed to say anything considering their ties with MSNBC. I'll let you all know what I dig up.

Although with Keith's ratings he would have done better to stay at ESPN rather than venture out into the tired, old, and might I add quite large arena of left wing media who only report on what is either negative to conservatives or positive to liberals. See, the thing with the Fringe Media (what I'm calling MSM, now because they are irrelevant) is that we watch them every once in a while to see not only what they are doing, but what they aren't. We aren't foolish enough to believe a "Glenn Beck" or "Hannity" that the Fringe Media isn't doing its job, we have to check for ourselves. It just proves FOX right and makes us more loyal to their programming.
The ones on the other side don't do this so they are only getting one point of view. They are the lemmings here.

Actually, the Old Media's non-treatment of this blockbuster is the most significant story here. Because along with the Van Jones fiasco, this story signals the imminent death of the old media. In both cases, the government responded (albeit reluctantly – at least on the left side) before the old media did. How backward is THAT???
As much as exposing the dirt, depravity and nuttiness of the left, these stories exposed the lengths to which their chief enablers – the NYT, WaPo, ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC and all the rest will go to in order to protect them – which, in itself is not surprising. Old news, really.
What IS surprising is that these "news" outlets actually thought that by NOT reporting these stories, they could keep the rest of us ignorant of them. Fool us once, shame on us. Fool us a thousand times, shame on you.
O'Keefe and Giles are this generation's Woodward and Bernstein. Only, far beyond taking down a mere administration, their work (and Andrew Breitbart's part cannot be overstated) has the potential of – or at least laying the groundwork for – taking down an entire party, as well as the 4th Estate itself.
