So This Is What Change Looks Like
by Rep. Thaddeus G. McCotter (R-MI)So this is what change looks like. If he were here, Mr. Speaker, in this time of momentous national distress, I would remind the President of the United States that he is not the leader of a party or an ideology; he is the leader of our country—one founded, not to emulate others, but to inspire the world.
As families lose their jobs, their homes, and their dreams for their children; as our troops fight and sacrifice in foreign fields for our liberty and security, President Obama’s obsessive-compulsive pursuit of an abominable government takeover of health care has defied the public’s objections, despoiled this, “The People’s House,” and further alienated Americans from their representative government.
As President Obama’s campaign mantra of “hope and change” has degenerated into “tax and hate,” reputable surveys prior to this vote report: the public overwhelmingly thinks that the U.S. Government is broken. Only 21 percent of the public thinks it is being governed with its consent. Only 26 percent of the public trusts the Federal Government most of the time or always; 56 percent of Americans think the Federal Government has become so large and powerful that it poses an immediate threat to the rights and freedom of ordinary citizens; 70 percent believe the government and big business typically work together in ways that hurt consumers and investors; and 71 percent of Americans think the Federal Government is a special interest.
In the wake of this health care debate’s despicable, dysfunctional process and product, it is clear: The most dangerous special interest is Big Government and President Obama is its lobbyist.
In contrast to Americans’ faith in themselves, every major piece of legislation proffered by the President and his Democratic Congress expands and empowers Big Government at the expense of the people. Possessed of a smug, cynical, patronizing view of Americans as dependents desiring State benefits, this arrogant administration and its enablers have defied the American people and bi-partisan opposition in Congress to unilaterally jam through a trillion-dollar government takeover of health care.
Why? For so many Americans, the answer is that this President and his Democratic Congress think they are smarter than you; want to run your life; and want to make government your ruler, not your servant.
Such hubris threatens not only our health care system but it tears the social fabric and political contract of our Nation. Instead of working for a more perfect Union, the President’s ideological obstinacy exacerbated the disorder and divisions within our Nation, and wrought a crisis of consent—one that puts America’s exceptional experiment in human freedom and self-government on the precipice of implosion.
To do so the President has the power, but not the right. Thus he has merely scored a Pyrrhic victory over the American people. Ultimately, his government-run medicine scheme will be repealed and replaced with free- market, patient-centered wellness, because America’s strength and salvation remains her free people, not a person.
And this November, America’s sovereign citizens will remind the President and his Democratic Congress that We the People do not work for government; the government works for us.
No, the President and his Democratic Congress will not break us beneath Big Government. Devoted to our freedom and a more perfect Union, we will keep the faith, trust the public, calm the times, and heal our country.

……as our troops fight and sacrifice in foreign fields for our liberty and security,….
The wars have reduced our liberty and security as well as our prosperity.
I think I'm on information overload! Days like this I feel like my head will explode, from the absolute insane activities going on in Washington!! I want my country BACK!!!!
Dhassey, you're completely out of your mind……………..if you ever had one to begin with.
Tha: "In the wake of this health care debate’s despicable, dysfunctional process and product, it is clear: The most dangerous special interest is Big Government and President Obama is its lobbyist."
Right brother. Keep pointing out these issues and show how Big Gov't doesn't have to abide by this new law like us commoners; like this retired, disabled, veteran.
Rep. McCotter,
With all due respect, for the first time in my adult life, I no longer believe. I no longer believe in our, and my elected officials, I no longer believe in my Government, and I no longer believe in America. America, the idea, is representative of Her people. You people, in Washington, in power, no longer listen to the people.
I love my Country. I fear my government. You all, collectively have placed US on a slippery slope.
"Thus he has merely scored a Pyrrhic victory over the American people"
Let's hope that is the case.
Asselhoff – take a hike.
So was Smedley Butler?

Enough! The time for talk is over. Personally, I think that we could just start ignoring these Bolsheviks. They can write all the bills they want. They can congratulate each other until Armageddon. They can pretend they care about you. They will not be able to enforce their will on people who simply refuse to go along. This isn't Germany in 1933. And it is no longer 1965. This is now and we will not accept their will over our own. How in the world can we? We are free and will not live in any other type of society. 80 year old grandmothers are incensed and appalled at the turn of events. When you get that demographic mad at you, look out.
"So this is what change looks like."
Ya think? !?
Wait till November. Then you tell me!
I have a question:
"In the wake of this health care debate’s despicable, dysfunctional process and product, it is clear: The most dangerous special interest is Big Government and President Obama is its lobbyist."
The question is this. It is all over the news today, that the biggest "selling point" in the Health Care Hoax, they FORGOT to write into the bill. No how exactly in hells name, when someone inept enough to FORGET their key selling point, can they be competent enough to manage a TRILLION Dollar piece of legislation. It simply defies all the laws of economics, and gravity.

I'm watching Cavuto right now, he had Rep. Woolsy D Ca. they were talking about the pre-existing for children and the fact that it is NOT in the bill.
What angered me is Cavuto kept dancing around the question, "DID YOU READ THE BILL BEFORE YOU VOTED?" He would NOT ask her straight up, you could tell by what she was saying that she didn't read the bill !!!!
That pisses me off !!!! Come on Neal ask the fricking question!!!!!!
CHANGE?
They couldn't change an diaper on an infant. Nor would I trust them to.
Excellent thoughts, well expressed. Thank you for the message. It's truth is not even debatable.
OMG…………….Smedley Butler? Don't use old Smedley for refutation! And I don't need a link to know who he was.
Dhassey, just out of mordant curiosity, did/do you also post to other forums? I've seen old Smedley used before and he never wins the day. LOL
So if war isn't ever the answer, then, by your lights, we never should have fought the Revolution, any of the French&Indian Wars, the War of 1812, etc.; right?
We will either take back this country with votes in November or it will be a cival war. I am glad I am on the side that is very well armed both with the constitution and with lead and brass if need be. I am comfortable that Lib / Progressives don't have or believe in guns.
I saw that.
I really like Cavuto.
Sometimes though, he goes right up to the edge, and blinks, taking a step back.
I liked his interview with Gov. Haley Barbour.
Though most of ObamaCare doesn't kick in for four years, but taxes and cuts kick in right away and yes, everyone aged 65 and older is being hit……………BIG TIME !
The ONLY way to stop this Government Gestapo before it is to late is to create an escrow account to hold the peoples tax money outside of the Government until our Government returns to Governing from with in the mandates of our Constitution. This means claim Max. Deduction and NO IRS filing.
Our Employers must refuse to act as Agents for the IRS and stop with holding the peoples money from payment of the employee's earned Dollars.
The Democrat Party has proven that aside from killing Babies who do not vote. The Democrat Party is the anti-Choice Party. Democrats have also proven they can not Govern out side of a Marxist Nanny type of Status under a perverted term of Social Justice. The US Government Breaks it so they can take it. The American Tax Payers can no longer flip the Bills for the Thieves in our Government and a real Tea Party of de-funding these Tyrants using their own IRS against them needs to start now.
That was a thoughtful and well-presented speech, Representative McCotter.
Got that right.
All you have is the Waterloo strategy, Sir. This country needs more than Republican games to fix the disaster called the "Bush Years."

Dear Rep McCotter-
With all due respect, it wasnt that long ago that one couldnt throw an empty can down a K Street ally without hitting a Republican congressman.
Even now, the head of the Republican party, Michael Steele, is no where to be seen the complete rejection of the will of the people. Why isnt he screaming bloody murder?
In debate terms, "silence is compliance."
If the American people return the House to the RNC,
to what extent can we expect them to be diffrent?
As I remember it, we Americans once revolted due to taxation without representation. Well damn it, I'm and you are taxed to hell and back. I don't believe we received representation in the past or recently for the matter. Could it be time for a tax revolt. We are goin to lose the country we've known anyway. I'm all for withholding of taxes until the bill is killed.
Enough of us and alll they coul d do is apply proper penalties, I think.. No expert here. Anyone else?
Oh yeah and what problems were those? Hmmm? Spell them out.
Mr. Welk stick to the bubble machine, and playing the accordion.
“The American people will
never knowingly adopt
Socialism, but under the
name of ‘liberalism,’ they
will adopt every fragment
of the Socialist program
until one day America will
be a Socialist nation without
knowing it happened.”

(1884-1968) U.S. Socialist Party Leader
Thank you, thank you Rep.Thaddeus G. McCotter,
You have put our beliefs and feelings to words in a succinct to heartfelt address.
" The most dangerous special interest is Big Government and President Obama is its lobbyist."
Never more true words were spoken. We are now seeing the first rounds being fired at our side, the protectors of the Constitution, in a new campaign of accusations of violent threats and hate crimes. MSM (including Shepard Smith at FOX) and bloggers are reporting death threats and other actions as fact without substantiation, and again laying claims that conservative radio hosts and commentary are instigating violent behavior.

~ Saul Alinsky's "Rules for Radicals" ~
RULE 3: "Whenever possible, go outside the expertise of the enemy." Look for ways to increase insecurity, anxiety and
uncertainty. (This happens all the time. Watch how many organizations under attack are blind-sided by seemingly
irrelevant arguments that they are then forced to address.)
RULE 12: Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it." Cut off the support network and isolate the target
from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions. (This is cruel, but very effective.
Direct, personalized criticism and ridicule works.)
I don't like to do this but this is a repost from the Bachman post and it really is a msg to ALL of them.
Dearest Republican Representative,
"We the people" appreciate the stand you take, HOWEVER what have you truly done to stop this machine? How many walkouts have you initiated? How many govt "shutdowns" did you start? How many sit-ins have you sponsored? How many investigations into your questionable "colleagues" on the other side did you initiate?
Talk, talk, talk is all we hear from you Ms. Bachman, Mr. King and Mr. Boehner and NO ACTION. When will the republicans in DC get spine and take a stand with the corrupt socialist party (formerly democratic as of 3/21/10)? The American people are tired, tired of the lies, deceit and empty promises. Tired of hearing "we are going to fight this" yea with words again and whining? We want to see actual actions no threats of/ or silly letters being sent b/c your opposition DOES NOT CARE WHAT WE SAY, LET ALONE WHAT YOU SAY. The republicans are the only ones right now who can start something of a "physical" nature. So tell me, us, when will the repubs be staging a walkout? Hmmm? WHEN? When will criminal charges be filed at those you know darn well belong behind bars for dodging taxes or taking bribes? When will the repubs start outing those who are corrupt? Our founding fathers signed a death warrant for what they believed, it was called the Declaration of Independence. They had the guts to put their lives on the line for what they believed WHEN WILL YOU DO THAT? When will republicans literally put their lives/careers on the line if need be? Are you prepared to do what is necessary to save this Republic? Correct me if Im wrong but didn't each and every one of you TAKE AN OATH to this country to defend it and DIE for it if need be? No, we aren't asking you to start violence but to put yourself, your career, your reputation on the line to that degree as our founding fathers HELL YES!
So when should "We the People" expect this rising up of the republican party?
We are waiting………..

It's time for the common man to make sure he's got his own six. The elected officials clearly do not.
Now Cowboy there you go with that logic thingy again!
Thanks, Rep. McCotter. Your speech was heartfelt and well crafted. I am a registered Democrat who has been so disaffected by the Democrat party that I voted for a Republican-for McCain- for the first time in my life and I then subsequently voted for a Republican governor for our state. At this rate, it's likely that I will never vote for a Democrat again-certainly not in 2010 or 2012. Please keep up the good fight. I'm not from MI, but after the behavior of Stupak, I'm glad that there is a fine Congress Rep. of integrity from MI. God bless you.
The Iraq War – People pleaded not to go there but we still went there (If you can't call Iraq a mistake, then you are insane) – after massive tax cuts for the highest earners – Lunacy – and for what?
So long Dittoheads – see you in the fall after the report cards come out.
And automatically putting the words "tea party" in the same sentences as mentioning these things. No Tea Partier I know advocates anything violent whatsoever, period.
Michael Steele was just on Hannity & it was clear he only showed up to promote his book. Half
the answers he gave to questions he was asked began with, " Well in my book I wrote". Hannity
let him get away with a damn lie too. A caller asked if he would work to help the TEA Party get
candidates they supported recognized bu the GOP. His answer was BS, shuck'n'jive. something
to the effect, the GOP can only work with the candidates the local party gives us, WE DON'T SELECT
THE CANDIDATES. I was screaming at the radio. You DO select the candidates, ala Dede Scozaflave,
you gave her how many million $, & what did she ultimately do? Doug Hoffman anyone???? Steele
is a damn phony liar.
The 2nd Ammendment may be our only hope my friends.
My sentiments EXACTLY. I will NEVER trust another politician. You republican politicians knowing that MOST americans were totally against this law should have brought down the house. But all for the sake of order
you squandered the chance to stop this. Words without action mean nothing. Time for statesmenship
and calling politicians "my friends" on the other side when you know how destructive this law will be really pisses me off. I was a republican for 30 years until I finally figured out that 99% of all politicians are in it for themselves. No more will I vote party line. Of course the destructive hate filled democrats will never get my vote but a simpleton with common sense surely will.
If you all have not followed McCotter's speeches, they are all filled with these heartfelt concerns for the citizens of America. His consituents say he is a man of his word. I suggest you follow him on Twitter. Rightfully, this was the most re-tweeted speech of the night. Thank you, fine sir.
Yeah.
That logic thingey-ma-bobbie normal throws them a curve.
If it doesn't, common sense will assuredly trip them up.
The SCOTUS should claim that this bill is unconstitutional, If they don't, citizens will take this to the courts ourselves with the Constitution in hand (The Law of the land)!
I AM SCARED OF OUR GOV!!!! I AM PISSED ABOUT OBAMMY CARE! THE SCOTUS HAS TO STRIKE THIS DOWN!!!!!
I DO NOT LIKE THIS CHANGE!!!
GO GOP! We need some HELP!!!!
This ObamaCare scares me more than anything else. I mean they passed this UN-CONSTITUTIONAL bill against the will of the people (70% opposed), so if they can do that and force us to buy a product from them what can they NOT do? I mean they have shredded the Constitution and Bill of Rights, I just wonder what is next? I do not want Socialized Health Care, I do not want Communism / Totalitarianism! I do not want too be told what to do, eat, drink or anything like that! I DO NOT WANT THE GOVERNMENT TAKING CARE OF ME BY FORCE!
This is AMERICA DAMN IT!!!!!!!! If we have to live by the law of the land (Constitution) then our Government should have too also!
No one said war is never the answer. It is more true that those on your side say it is always the answer.
It took you 30 years to figure that out? You sure are slow.
/sarc off
That "My Friends" crap just sticks in my craw.
I want a Senate like they have in Japan or Korea. i want them throwing desks and furniture at each other, and having an old fashioned slug fest with "their friends". I want more bang for my friggen buck…..
Man, I agree with you 100% I can't believe more people are not PISSED OFF about what is going on!
We need some help and we need it FAST!!!!
I am tired of all the talk also, actions speak louder than words, but I am afraid that this November will be too late!
The demonization of Roved, by those who, in fact, are truly evil, won’t stand the test of time.
Obama is the ILLEGAL anti-American President of the U.S.! He fails to be President because he does not meet ARTICLE 2 SECTION 1 standards! ANY LAW SIGNED INTO LAW BY AN ILLEGAL PRESIDENT BECOMES NULL AND VOID AUTOMATICALLY! Stand up and fight for ARTICLE 2 SECTION 1!
We all understand, rckmom. If you need to, take a couple days off from the news. We all need time to clear our heads once in a while.
Stop being a weasel, Dhassy!
Tell me just which wars, America has fought, were worth it and didn't take away liberties and made us secure. And while you're at it, do so in explicit detail……………………..war by war.
So sad yet so true – I vow to not call anyone a liberal – they are all progressives, or marxists, or socialists – I remove liberal from my vocabulary -
I know Cowboy everything’s emotion with “those people,” Ba…Waa…what’s in it for me, as they stuff another Bon-Bon down their pie hole. How did we grow such a crop of worthless people…excuse me, “parasites.”
I think I have turned into a political junkie!! I can't seen to tear myself away from the chaos!!
Rep. Thaddeus G. McCotter , truer words have never been spoken. And for this I salute you. Thank You.
I got their CHANGE for them. They'll have to change their shorts by the evening of 4Nov10 and every day after that because of having the crap scared out of them. Perhaps it is time to use that old program for juvenile delinquents on our politicians, you know, SCARED STRAIGHT!!
When debating with Leftwingers/Dems/Radicals, as soon as they start the name calling and such, I politely inform them that the conversation is over…that they clearly can not revert to 2nd grade tactics. My favorite line to tell them is "you can ignore the facts all you want, it still doesn't make you right"…I had a great facebook debate going..someone asked if the people who opposed this bill were around during the civil war and civil rights act, which side would they be on? I told them to ask the 21 Democratic Senators who opposed the Civil Rights Act of 1964 or the Dem Senators who ran the 20+hr fillibuster against the bill…they IMMEDIATELY switched to talking points and bashing Republicans
can totally understand your bitterness there Cowboy,..when a team finishes in last place,………..
you make some trades,………you do not change the game,…and the game is America.
"I fear my government"
The only thing to fear is when folks like you give up the fight.
Personally I think the best thing that is happening in this country is the awakening of the people and,……
a new understanding of the importance of our Constitution.
Yes Washington has stopped listening to the people,………..but
We have started listening to ourselves,……….see ya on the deck of the USS Missouri some time soon.
They probably had Jobu's help when writing it and answering you. (Old movie, Major League, when dude couldn't hit a curve.)
stating that they thank republicans for NOTHING….I said you should thank republicans for fighting and winning the Civil War, and for the passing of the Civil Rights Act…then his buddy said that all Repubs are rich white guys…to which I responded, "even if I were a millionaire, why should my success be punished?"..then the name calling and insults came, and I ended the discussion. The point is to keep your cool, present them with FACTS, and stop the discussion when they go to the Alinsky playbook.
Throw out your couches people. You don't need them anymore. You have work to do.
And the ones that do, can't shoot straight. This will be a cakewalk.
And why wouldn't the Republicans offer an amendment to the reconciliation bill in the Senate that adds the language to cover kids with preexisting conditions? (the "selling point")
Either the amendment passes and they force another vote in the house, or they force the dems to vote against their own "selling point" from the original bill.
Hey Cowboy
Re: Your idea yesterday for the Obama urinal liner
I have a line extension for you. You could make this into a potty trainer as well. You know, the targets that new parent put in the toilet for the toddler to aim at when toilet training. This way, we could get a head start in training them before they go to indoctrination school.
Mr. McCotter,
Superb article, as always. Also, I never miss your appearances on Red Eye. Keep up the good work!
I am a resident of New York state. I am a proud U.S. Army Veteran. I am a business owner and entrepreneur. I am a gun owner. I am completely in love with my country, the United States of America! This is the place where people come to make their dreams come true. I've worked hard all my life, and I've been completely responsible for my own welfare, and everything that entails, since the age of fifteen. I have put myself through college. I've served my country in the U.S. Army, and I continue to do so by adding much-needed dollars to New York state's tax rolls. I am a registered Conservative (don't tell the neighbors!). Despite all of this goodness, and a helluva lot more, I know my country is in trouble. We have crossed a progressive threshold, and I am worried. We must have fiscal responsibility in government, and we must have a much smaller government. I am tired and frustrated beyond comprehension when it comes to the "welfare state" in which I live. I am tired of having to pay to raise the babies of the babies (aka teenagers who continue to have children) via generational welfare. I am tired and yet, I AM energized!
Mr. McCotter, I'm asking you to run for President of the United States in 2012. You've got the goods, the brain power, and the ideals our country needs. You've seen how Washington works, and you know it's time to change. I am very serious in this regard, and I thank you for reading this comment.
Respectfully,
Lori D. Hurley
Proud American
Proud Veteran
Proud Conservative
You made me laugh. Thanks!
Very well said Mr. McCotter. While I appreciate every word you'll forgive me for speculating that those in attendance were probably busy looking at their Facebook pages without so much as looking up to acknowledge you. In my humble opinion a true representative would find it hard to restrain themselves and would have, at some point, slammed their hand on the podium while speaking with a raised voice. We heard the words but the conviction and passion were not there. I want my representative to be as pissed off as I am and more importantly I want it to show. Honestly I've seen more lively and involved discourse in the British Parliament.
The time for being proper has passed. Unless we get passionate about how things are being run they will continue use procedure to muzzle the real patriots and the real leaders. At this point it wouldn't matter whether or not they censure you because they aren't lightening to you in the first place. And lets be honest, if they were listening it would only to be to rebut and criticize your opinion. I would want my fellow citizens, not just my constituents, that I am serious and that I mean what I say.
You think the people are mad now? It's bad enough our "leaders" insist we give our hard earned money to those who feel entitled. Just wait till the government starts force-ably taking it from those of us still willing to work for it.
You mean the Iraq War that Obama was going to end as soon as got into office,……………..
The Afghan War that he was going to end………..
the Gitmo that he was going to close,………………….
the wire tapping that he was going to end……………
Obama sure makes a pretty good,………"Dittohead" his own damn self ,….ay ddaichiro.
In November of 2010 it will be the only game in town…………..
"… he [Obama] is the leader of our country."
No he's not. He's the head of one branch of our government, which has three in total–all of equal importance.
Don't underestimate this point. The idea that we have a singular "leader" in this country is poisonous. It's one of the primary reasons power has been centralized in Washington instead of spread equally among the states. The president was intended by the founders to act as the chief sheriff, for lack of a better term. If we were supposed to have a king, that's what they would have given us.
Do not misread me.
I am not giving up the fight. Ever. As long as I can stand up, and have a breath left, I will continue our fight. The only thing sensible to do, after a major defeat, is to retreat and regroup and re-supply.
Sometimes, some major battles must be lost, in order to win the war. As I recall, Washington lost most of his battles, for several years, before reaching a rallying point. The trick is, we need to end up like Washington, and not like Custer……..
post them on trees and fire plugs…they'll definitely get some use….lol
American Revolution – which doesn't really count since it was fought by the militia – that tells you something. It is the BIG GOVERNMENT solution of the CENTRAL GOVERNMENT conducting war which is suspect….and the Founders are on MY side of that argument. How am I being a weasel?
War of 1812 seems justifiable.
I believe there were some skirmishes with Mexico that were justified. But that is about it.
I am not a baseball fan, so miss your analogy. I do remember when Nolan Ryan kicked Robbie Venturas ass……
If you could shed some more light on this man, please do so there sybill,………'
the natives are getting restless and they seem to be taking out on the wrong guy,………..
as for, I have never heard of him but just from his article, I think he is on our side and not two sided.
Some people pleaded not to go and we saw that in the votes by Congress and an overwhelming approval. You really should not exaggerate. On the other hand, the health hoax vote had a bi-partisan disapproval from the PEOPLE as well as bi-partisan disapproval in Congress.
I agree, we will see in the fall after the PEOPLE realize that the Bush tax cuts provided millions of jobs, real jobs while the taxation party of the progressives keeps people out of work and on the gov't run plantation.
How does it feel to be on the plantation of the Obamassiah and your Congressional master?
Here we go people. The democratic party has now begun to wail about feeling threatened. First they SUBVERT THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE and now we have to worry about thier jackboot antics all in the name of keeping ORDER. All those that supported this bill I now consider my enemy and rightly so.
OUTSTANDING. Rep. McCotter gives me hope that we will win back this beloved country. I am so very thankful for men like him who speak the truth, and do so with intelligence and true eloquence. God bless this man.
He has his own YouTube channel, and I highly recommend checking it out. He makes some really powerful speeches, and it saddens me when the view count only measures in the 100's. He is gold. Spread the word.
Okay, the Iraq War. The Iraq War was a bi-partisan effort to go after the people who helped facilitate Terrorist Attack on the WTC on 9-11-01. BI-PARTISAN.
WASHINGTON (CNN) — In a major victory for the White House, the Senate early Friday voted 77-23 to authorize President Bush to attack Iraq if Saddam Hussein refuses to give up weapons of mass destruction as required by U.N. resolutions.
Hours earlier, the House approved an identical resolution, 296-133.
The president praised the congressional action, declaring "America speaks with one voice."
"The Congress has spoken clearly to the international community and the United Nations Security Council," Bush said in a statement. "Saddam Hussein and his outlaw regime pose a grave threat to the region, the world and the United States. Inaction is not an option, disarmament is a must."
While the outcome of the vote was never in doubt, its passage followed several days of spirited debate in which a small but vocal group of lawmakers charged the resolution was too broad and premature.
The resolution requires Bush to declare to Congress either before or within 48 hours after beginning military action that diplomatic efforts to enforce the U.N. resolutions have failed.
Bush also must certify that action against Iraq would not hinder efforts to pursue the al Qaeda terrorist network that attacked New York and Washington last year. And it requires the administration to report to Congress on the progress of any war with Iraq every 60 days.
The measure passed the Senate and House by wider margins than the 1991 resolution that empowered the current president's father to go to war to expel Iraq from Kuwait. That measure passed 250-183 in the House and 52-47 in the Senate.
It was a comedy and they had a player who practiced voodoo and had his idol set up, making supplication every day because he couldn't hit a curve ball.
Perhaps a better analogy is that are trying to get milk from a bovine, unfortunately they keep grabbing the male bovine and yanking. Celebrating what they get because it is liquid but somehow it just isn't what they said they would get.
You know, I think some of the big republican bashers on this site are really agitators. It's a deception.
You need not only mental help, but courses in American history.
YOU DIDN'T ANSWER MY QUESTION, AT ALL, DHASSHAT !
Because there was no such a thing as the United States of America, when we fought the Revolution, there was NO STANDING NATIONAL MILITARY. And no, it wasn;'t fought bny a "militia"; it was fought by the ARMY.
Oh, so the French&Indian Wars were not any good and neither was WW II? How about the Civil War and the one against the Barbary Pirates ?
Nope, the FFs weren't on YOUR pathetic side at all.
You're not just a weasel, you're an ignorant, stupid, bigoted weasel !
Watching Beck, today and yesterday he is warning us to not resort to violence, and he is right!!!!
We can't and must not play their game !!!!
It will destroy what we are trying to do……Take our country back !!!!
Heard about the death threats to congress, don't know if they are true or not, but they might make this crap up, just to make us look like the radicals they were back in the 60's.
They know it didn't work for them, so they know it won't work for us either !!!!
We need to stay calm be patient, we will eventually win, and take our country back !!!!!
Hey dumkopf, You seem to forget, or perhaps it is the public indoctrination, that big governments fought for us during the American Revolution.
Some skirmishes with Mexico? You mean the country of Texas fighting against Mexico?
Although, it does make for a target rich environment.
Perhaps we should emulate our founders and go back to unconventional warfare. And throw in a little Sun Tzu by selecting the time, place, manner for our engagements.
God bless Socialist America!
Hey dumkopf, You seem to forget, or perhaps it is the public indoctrination, that big governments fought for us during the American Revolution.
Incorrect. It was mostly the militia. If history is too hard for you to read try watching "The Patriot" with Mel Gibson.
Some skirmishes with Mexico? You mean the country of Texas fighting against Mexico?
That isn't what I meant, no.

The condition of our nation at the end of 2008 was as pitiful as can be imagined; feel free to condemn somebody for not snapping their fingers and performing miraculous feats instantaneously. I'm willing to cut him a little slack since he has a group of lunatic righties screaming for his head 24/7. Conservatives just want to create a movement of knuckle-draggers willing to support a corporate takeover of everything where 80-90 percent of humanity will be begging for bread crumbs. Thankfully, the leaders of the alliance are not near bright enough to fool enough voters to pull it off, but they'll still be happy to settle for getting stinky rich from the maneuver… Right Mr. Breitbart?
That wasn't a "war", Dhassy. Hell, it was even less of a one, than our engaging in the Spanish-American War.
Because there was no such a thing as the United States of America, when we fought the Revolution, there was NO STANDING NATIONAL MILITARY. And no, it wasn;'t fought bny a "militia"; it was fought by the ARMY.
I am speechless. Once again someone with no knowledge of history invoking it! Simply amazing. But that is par for the course – the government-run schools have not taught about how the MILITIAS are the reasons you have freedoms since their duty has been to vilify them.
Oh, so the French&Indian Wars were not any good and neither was WW II? How about the Civil War and the one against the Barbary Pirates ?
The French Indian wars, maybe. Nothing else for sure. Barbary pirates were not a war – more like the exercise I listed below – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pancho_Villa_Expedit...
Great show AGAIN Mr Glenn Beck !!!!
I love how he uses their own words aganist them … Everyone wants to go off on Glenn but NOT HIS FACTS !!!!!
Amazing …..
Study Proigressives just like he talsk about – you WILL be amazed … My God or education system has been hijacked !!!!
If you are capable of looking up you will see I referred to it as "skirmishes" – I did so for a reason.
Ok.
I follow you now on both cases.
I vaguely recall the voo-doo thing being in the news. That was a few years ago, before the current witch doctor in chief.
http://www.moonbattery.com/obamacare_witchdoctor….
I savvy the cow milking party. You just described CONgress…..
I understand the frustration. Bush's spending got out of control, then the RNC gives us McCain as a candidate? Both deserve a swift kick in the ass. But, McCotter is one of the best Conservatives, and sadly, some Conservatives won't get deep enough into the weeds to ferret out the keepers.
hippies of the 60's … they are now in charge – Remember, Charles Manson was also one of those "hate America" hippies !!!!
Study who Obama surronds himself with .. not rocket scientists folks
In the declaration of independence, the federalist papers and in the constitution itself, it is described that We The People have the legal authority to use force to take our government back from a tyranical government.
At what point do we do this?
Smedley Butler….wasn't he a character on the Rocky & Bullwinkle show?
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm………………..oh ye who are dumber than a box of rocks…………..then WHY, did General George Washington refer to the troops he led as :
THE CONTINENTAL ARMY and not THE MILITIA ?
If I were you ( and thank GOD I'm not ! ), I wouldn't go about impugning others' knowledge.
The Barbary Pirates case was exactly the SAME thing as our current WAR ON TERRORISM; you abject idiot !
Oh, so maybe the French&Indian War was "okay"? WHY ?
And the skirmishes between the USA and Pancho Villa was fine and and dandy, but WW II wasn't ? Yep, you truly are insane; not to mention stupid !
