The Educated Idiots Award (Vol. 1, No. 2): ‘Hurt so Good’
by Rep. Thaddeus G. McCotter (R-MI)The people have written!
After sorting through scores of nominations from readers, I am dyspeptic to present another recipient of the “Educated Idiots Award” (EIA), which is given to the arrogant intellectuals unacquainted with real life who foist their insane ideas upon the “unenlightened” rest of us.

Nominated by former State Department Official, John Tkacik, this week’s EIA goes to the Obama Administration’s “smart power” savants. (Okay, that’s not quite what John called them, but the sentiment is simpatico.)
To witless:
Per a March 5th Washington Post article, the Obama Administration’s “smart power” savants want the People’s Republic of China (PRC) to get a sweetheart sanctions deal: If the Beijing regime relents and supports tightened UN sanctions against Iran, the PRC will be exempted from tightened US sanctions against Iran.
This dysfunctional case of “the enemy of my enemy is my enemy” bemuses our allies who have steadfastly supported sanctioning Iran due to its nuclear program; and have already been divesting from the mullah’s murderous regime.
For example, while supporting sanctions Japan has reduced its investment in Iran’s Azadegan oil fields from 70% to 10%. While opposing sanctions the PRC has invested over $80 Billion in Iran’s energy sector, including
$3 Billion in the very same Azadegan oil field.
So let’s recap: The PRC can simultaneously vote for and escape from Iranian sanctions; our allies can vote for and follow sanctions; and the Obama Administration can claim a talking point victory for “smart power.” (For those unfamiliar with the term, in educated idiots’ parlance “smart power” means “peace through speech.”)
In an analysis by the Monty Hall Institute for Deal Making, the PRC gets door number one and our allies get the shaft.
Still, nothing in life is entirely without merit. This sordid episode in smarty pants diplomacy does provide an answer to those confounded Leftists wondering why America’s standing in the world has diminished under the Obama administration:
At least when Neville Chamberlain pursued appeasement, he was sincerely deluded.

It's no secret the ChiComs are callin' the shots for this country's foreign policy. They OWN us and are getting a little nervous about the amount of debt they're holding. The Maoist in the WH are feeling quite comfortable with their station in life these days. It has been widely reported that the ChiComs are really, really skeptical about the FauxGlobalWarming-thingy…….So, Chairman bin Obama, how long before they convince you of the same or will they order you to cease and desist!
…sanctioning Iran due to its nuclear program….
Iran's nuclear program is legal since they signed the NNPT. That is part of the deal. In fact, if we HELPED them build the nuclear power plants it would be a good way to monitor them…..if that was indeed the goal. But it isn't – our bloated Federal government is simply trying to start ANOTHER war much like they did in Iraq. The last gasps our of government that is determined to follow a suicidal path that does NOT place AMERICAN interests very high.
If those Iranians don't start to listen to Obama and start behaving better, he is going to write a really mean letter to them. And if that doesn't work, he will write another one only yhis time he will give them a real mean look and stamp his feet. Now that should do the trick!!
The libs must be so proud to have such a smart man in the white house! "We are the world, we are the children, lets share a Coke and a smile, and make it all worthwhile,,,,,
It would be mighty handy to have our next administration led by an American for starters…
These morons need a real example of "smart power". If you are going to use it, do it right! Reagan knew how.

BTW, Mr. McCotter, I'm trying to rectify your "bio" here with reality.
He has steadfastly supported winning the War on Terror and increasing our homeland security, tirelessly fought to reduce taxes and the size and scope of government, and, most importantly, Congressman McCotter has dedicated every effort to listen to and serve his constituents.
Do you believe your constituents want more temporary and permanent visas – especially those designed specifically to take away American jobs and lower wages like H1B does?
Do you believe your constituents want this "war on terror" at all? I'm not talking about some silly catch phrase but do they want to spend a TRILLION dollars on wars in the Middle East that really have no benefit for Americans but is simply a boondoggle for the MIC, oil companies and a "special" ally we have in the region (who are themselves breaking international law on many levels and occupying land.)
Barrack Obama, flim flam man. Back in the late 1800's he would have been selling snake oil out of the back of wagon to ignorant frontiersmen. During the dust bowl it would have been rainmaking.
This administration practices some of the most egregious faults of lawyers: Obfuscation and misdirection.
McCotter for Prez!
I see you're back under your old name.
Have you been here using the monicker "Anon" for the last several days? You all never show up at the same time.
I almost choked on my coffee when I read that last line. Too funny….
Hope is not a strategy.
I suggest you photo shop the trophy and replace the "thinker" with a picture of "the won" … seems a little more appropriate.
Frankly, we need to send the Chinese a memo, telling them that Iranian, and middle eastern gall bladders are an aphrodisiac. Like rhinocerous horn……..
Let me make this perfectly clear, if you don't listen to me, the great Obumble, I'll
fly over to Iran in my great big plane and bore you silly with 50 lectures about
your bad ways, and if that don't work, I'll have to go home and convince those
Tea party people why my trip was successful…Everyone else will think I was
successful, cause I'll make it perfectly clear to all of my robots and zombies. lol
Even "ignorant frontiersmen" would have see through BHO's BS.
this smells like a chow mein prepared by obamasoros, there's plenty of buck$ in this one.
So, you view them as sub-human? Interesting.
PS: not too much salt as per bloomberg or a scoop by conde nast (newhouse) billionares club menu
Or perhaps educated him with one round from a Peacemaker.
Yeah, like they are going to allow ANYONE to monitor them! Give me a break!
They are already 'experimenting' with progressive ideas in our children's classrooms. For real truth in advertising they need to re-brand CSPAN to Comedy Central
Well heck, they signed that treaty so what more do we need? I think if we just ask them to pinky promise we can trust them with anything nuclear. They're nice guys and I'm sure they wouldn't harm a fly.
Wow, I just had a moment of total clarity, "wars in the Middle East that really have no benefit for Americans". I can't believe I didn't see it before. I think that if all those terrorist guys want to die for their belief, they should come to America and do it. The Land of Opportunity. We should bring our troops home and if those nutters want to die, let them do it here, on American soil, around American citizens (women and children and all). That would be a tremendous benefit for all of us, wouldn't it Hoff.?
Israel does not allow monitoring and we know they have nuclear weapons. That doesn't seem to be a problem despite Israel's short and violent history (or long and violent history if you insist that the UN creation of Israel and the kingdom that existed there 2000 years ago are somehow connected – funny how violence seems to be a hallmark either way.)
I think that if all those terrorist guys want to die for their belief, they should come to America and do it.
That is half of the Bush doctrine which is:
1) create enemies all over the world and
2) allow massive uncontrolled immigration to the US
The goal of that doctrine is the grow government by creating and abetting threats to Americans. And look what he did – grow government.
Not really sure what you are proposing – that occupying foreign countries somehow equates to protecting our border? Seems the opposite is true as our resources are so poorly allocated such that our border is unguarded (shouldn't that be the highest priority?)
So, let me get this straight, YOU don't want foreigners coming here and committing violence. And in the name of that, you want our troops to invade other countries where they see us a foreigners committing violence. Riiiiiiight. No Christian or even a person with common sense can defend this.
You are 110% right….I don't know why I didn't consider that point when I posted…I've
been railing against the brainwashing going on in schools for years now….You are
right, thanks, blame it on my age….lol
We can monitor them and keep them from making nukes the same way Clinton did with North Korea? I see how well that idea worked out. *snort*
Thay have the weapons … and yet despite being bombed by random rocket attacks from people funded by some of Israel's neighbors, those nukes haven't ever flown.
In fact, the Israelis are so warlike that they've not broken their treaties with Jordan and Egypt.
Sorry, I'm not buying your anti-semitism.
And you found that doctrine where? I'd like to see a copy of that if you could provide the link, please.
Occupying foreign countries – who exactly are we "occupying"? The definition of occupy means to " to take or hold possession or control of". We certainly don't have possession or control of Afghanistan, or Iraq for that matter. While we maintain a presence there to assist their government in reforming, we do not control it.
Our borders are more protected today than they were prior to going to war. Not that they don't have problems, but they have much more attention than they did in the past.
Our troops are fighting enemies of not only the US, but enemies within their own country. The taliban and Al Qada are ruthless groups committed to the suppression of anything that offers their countries progress and democracy. As a Christian I wholeheartedly have and do defend this!
Probably a good(bad)time to show that this administration has only 8% of appointees with ANY experience at all in their line of work. Half(Obama)wit, nit(Biden)wit and dim(Pelosi)wit have yet to clue in on this fact. Suffice to say the ship of state has morons at the helm.
I'm not sure I got that from his statement, but I'm sure you'd have had no problem if he had replaced Iranian with Israeli.
Smart power? Oh, I get it. In Odumbo's case; apply enough power to make it 'smart'.
Sorry, I'm not buying your anti-semitism.
LOL! Right on cue.
They can't hide behind their false "enlightenment" anymore. Our "universities" have been converted into indoctrination centers that give people sheepskins for being angry. While thankfully real degrees in real sciences still exist, we can no longer ignore that these institutions are handing out degrees in "Mean people studies". Degrees in the emotional sciences if you will.
Basically these "mean people studies" consist of remembering where and when some white person or persons was mean to someone who wasn't white. Thats it. People are given lofty titles and tons of ass kissing respect just to perpetuate our differences. These are the types that currently infest our hallowed halls of government. To me, having a degree that proves you know white people can be mean is a complete joke.
They're nice guys and I'm sure they wouldn't harm a fly.
If we can trust Israel who has repeatedly attacked us and plotted against us, then we can trust Iran.
Huh??? When did Israel attack us and plot against us? Now I do recall Iran's declaration to destroy Israel and the "infidels" who support Israel (uh, that would be us).
And you found that doctrine where? I'd like to see a copy of that if you could provide the link, please.
Why bother with words. Words are cheap. Actions don't lie. And that is what it is based on.
We certainly don't have possession or control of Afghanistan, or Iraq for that matter.
You can't win. OK, we will play your little game – it only shows we are in another Vietnam style war – TWO of them. So, we still haven't won? Maybe that isn't the goal.
Our borders are more protected today than they were prior to going to war.
I doubt even you believe that.
The taliban and Al Qada are ruthless groups committed to the suppression of anything that offers their countries progress and democracy.
So, you are a progressive? Maybe the Democrats should learn something and use violence against the anti-democratic and repressive Republicans? It is all in the eye of the beholder.
We are there for money and for Israel and for politics. Why aren't we fighting in Africa if you are right?
USS Liberty
Lavon Affair
Selling our Patriot Missile technology to China (even Cheney says this.)
A multitude of spying often centered around AIPAC
Allow me to point out for you the schizophrenia that is Dhasselhoff:
He believes Nazi Germany didn't commit genocide, but Israel does.
He is a committed racist who would like all non whites to be expelled from the United States and wishes the Apartheid and slave-owning Confederate States of America still existed, but regularly condemns Israel as being like Apartheid South Africa due to their convenient, short-lived alliance.
He regularly posits any action taken in support of either defeating Jihadism or supporting Israel as being anti-Christian, yet believes and/or apologizes for anti-Christian things like racism, bigotry, stoning of adulterous women, shooting of adulterous women, execution of homosexuals, religious hatred of Jews, terrorist attacks and mass murdering dictators.
He regularly decries any use of American power abroad, be it to destroy terrorists or fight dictatorial regimes, but would gleefully get behind a war against Israel that ended with its annihilation.
You can see the pattern here: Everything he hates is bad, unless it's against those damn Juden.
Since you would rather argue opinion versus facts, I'll just let it go there.
Have a great weekend.
October 2000 – "the Palestinians struggle and the Moslems' support for them will bring us to good results and will eliminate the enemy.” "
and just as many events that seemed impossible occurred, the establishment of a Palestinian State and the destruction of Israel will certainly occur.”
December 2000 – "The only way to restore calm to the region is the destruction of the root of the crisis and implementation of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.”
“ Israel will disappear from the world map, and a Palestinian state will come in its place, if the Arab states unite against it . If guns from Syria, Jordan, Egypt and Iran start to shell, Israel will not continue to exist. Iran will not change its position regarding Israel or the US.”
I can go on and on if you like.
Yea, I've had the "pleasure" of his discussions in the past. Thanks the the synopsis though.
Please do because NONE of that is a threat….unless you want to call Bush's word against the REST of the Middle East (at least those that don't bow down to Israel) threats as well. I seem to recall the term "axis of evil" used.
Since you are in the quoting mood – do you know what terrorist said this:
"We are benefiting from one thing, and that is the attack on the Twin Towers and Pentagon, and the American struggle in Iraq,"
Oct 2005 – "Israel must be wiped off of the map," ""As the Imam said, Israel must be wiped off the map," said Ahmadinejad
Addressing a conference in Tehran on Wednesday, entitled "The World Without Zionism", Ahmadinejad said, "To those who doubt, to those who ask is it possible, or those who do not believe, I say accomplishment of a world without America and Israel is both possible and feasible…" http://www.militantislammonitor.org/article/id/11...
Whos radical idealogies call for the total destruction of other countries?
Whos radical idealogies call for their followers to strap on explosive and walk into markets, schools, town centers, and kill anyone and everyone around them (old, young, women, children)?
Being labeled among the "axis of evil" is also not a threat. It's labeling a country a being destructive to the peace and stability of their regions.
Ever hear of EMP?
That will be the end result.
ObamaCare won't matter.
No, in the late 1800's he would have been picking my cotton.
Your talking points never vary do they….you hate Israel…we get that! You love the Muslims…we get that…move a long little piece of sh!t…

Iran with a nuke,………
and please no cumbaya response.
I don't unconditionally support Israel on every issue, but it's not about Israel, and you are clearly an Anti-Semite.
It's about Iran, and they're killing their own people, they won't stop there, and Obama is aiding and abetting them and so are you. This is "dumb power" because it will set off a nuclear arms race in an unstable Middle East.
Smart bombs are smart power. Carter gave the mullahs Iran and Obama will give them the bomb.
Carter gave the Mullah Iran. Obama will give them the bomb.
These are Dumb People for "dumb power," for dumb people to follow.
Hmm, claim moral equivalence between Iran and Israel and act like you don't deserve an "anti-semitism" title… come on.
Man, how can anyone take you seriously?
Fact is Republicans are the educated class and earn 60% more college degrees than dems every year since 1955 since records were kept. It's not even close, and if dems could just keep up there would be no national debt. That's why dems need free stuff form the government, they can't take care of themselves.
"Universities are the only place where liberals can talk and talk and never have to actually prove their theories actually work." Thomas Sowell. Up to 90% of college professors are in academia.
Meanwhile, Republicans are real world doctors, lawyers, engineers, research scientists in private industry — where the real brain power is at, not subsidized by taxpayer funded grants.

McCotter Rocks — he is very smart and has a great sense of humor and humility about him. He is one of those that are there for the right reasons and I see him as senator before long.
Catch him on Red Eye frequently, you'll see what I mean.

No, THEY view them as sub-human…."Humans" are permitted to make their own reproductive decisions, and welcome both daughters and sons!

You should realize that there is no document. Dumkopf appears to be running for the Uneducated Idiots Award.
No, he views you as sub-human due to numerous observations of your writing.
Kinda reminds me of newly graduated engineers that can't figure out why their perfect world solutions to an engineering problem just doesn't work under practical application.
Don't forget wit(Reid)less.
Or in the words of Forest Gump: Stupid is as stupid does.
Why choose? Both with nukes means stability in the region.
claim moral equivalence between Iran and Israel and act like you don't deserve an "anti-semitism" title… come on.
That would be neither anti-Semitic nor logical. Iran is a legitimate country. Israel is a UN created parasite nation depending on welfare dollars from the US tax payers (98% non-Jews) and German tax payers.
Israel is occupying land and in defiance of international law. Iran is not.
Israel is an Apartheid state. Iran is not.
"Although the main solution is for the elimination of the Zionist regime, at this stage an immediate cease-fire must be implemented," he said.
Far cry from what you and the paper claims. Hmmmm, isn't this the same MSM that claims Gingrich wanted to starve kids and such nonsense????? Suddenly you become a trusting fan of the media when they say something that fits your prejudices. Ending the Zionist regime is like ending Apartheid in South Africa. They still have a branch open in former Palestine that must close.
America is a race?
It's about Iran, and they're killing their own people,
You tried that with Iraq and it was hogwash then, too. They don't kill their own people any more than our government does. That is just shrill rhetoric.
Try getting past your bigotry –
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-28842323...
Your constant defense of them betrays you Dhassel….I don't hate them either…just their agenda to destroy the USA and Israel….
I see from at least two posts of yours now that you have a lot of learning to do. Carter may have failed to PROP UP AN ILLEGITIMATE KING in Iran. Maybe you are the one that needs to go to Saudi Arabia or something – you reject the American culture of opposing KINGS. The KING in Iran was put in place by OUR GOVERNMENT (big fan of the federal government, too, I see). Iran had a revolution much like in the US. Good for them. It is called "self-determination" – look in to it.
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-28842323...
I defend them because they are under attack by Zionism and Israel and they are using MY money to do it. If not for US policy being hijacked to suit Israel (see video below) the US and the rest of the Middle East would not be at odds. Americans pay a huge price for this support of Israel and it is to no benefit to them.

"Saddam Hussein's forces reportedly killed hundreds of Iraqi Kurds with chemical agents in the Kurdish town of Halabja in March 1988. The poison gas attack on Halabja was the largest-scale chemical weapons (CW) attack against a civilian population in modern times. Halabja had a population of about 80,000 people who was predominantly Kurdish and had sympathised with Iran during the Iran-Iraq war in the 1980s."
"The Iraqi CW attack began early in the evening of March 16th, when a group of eight aircraft began dropping chemical bombs; the chemical bombardment continued all night. The Halabja attack involved multiple chemical agents — including mustard gas, and the nerve agents SARIN, TABUN and VX. Some sources report that cyanide was also used. "

Don't worry, the US is recouping some of that money selling arms to all sides in the middle east…
"Smart Power"–powered by idiotic career students with very soft silky hands.
I love your prose and dry wit. Everybody rules over O, they know all they have to do is raise their voice, and he'll bow, scrape and apologise for the US. A country like China, with their horrific treatment of human beings, doesn't seem to be a priority for either him or his SoS.
Rep Mc Cotter, I've been hearing the Stupak may be wobbling on human life. This is of great concern to those of us who are pro-life. Please talk to him (again) and let him know we're following both himself and his other pro-life colleagues very closely. I understand he may be pressured, we're all pressured in regards to our convictions in our daily life, that's no excuse. He has a choice, which is more than little babies in the womb have, he follows this pro-infanticidal man or he follows Thee Man. Thank you all for fighting this monstrosity of a commiecare bill. We're praying hard here for all of you – God bless.
PS: Also tell him that if he should weaken, which on reflection is understandable amongst that den of thieves, tell him to say an aspiration to St Stephen. Thanks again.
There's a big difference between Book Smart, and Common Sense Smart….
Let these morons do their experimenting in the classrooms not with this
great country!!
I would have thought that "Smart Power" was USA nuclear, USA coal, and USA oil.
Why don't we declare war on ourselves, see how many allies we get to fight ourselves and see if we can destroy our country faster that way than the Obama regime is doing through the back door in the cover of darkness. At least this way we can identify all of our enemies, and have a fighting chance.
The biggest threat to our country isn't Islamic Terrorism, its cockroach in the dark Obama and his Marxist desciples.
Look at the side benefits: China can now become Iran's big trading partner and we won't be the only dump point for poisoned Chinese goods. Maybe that will bring down Iran … I can hope.
I'm not buying your anti-Asian racism.
well Mr. McCotter I've got a candidate for next week's MORON of the week – it's Dhasselhoff I'm not going to

I don't love Muslims – I just don't share you hatred for them. Big difference. Oh, and I don't have loyalties to foreign countries that subvert us…..
Oh I know. He has the tendancy to confuse his opinion with facts and I called him on it.
He is certainly "trolling" for votes here.
Great post. It reminded me of this clip from the movie Team America. Crappy movie, funny scene. If you are at work or have kids around I would suggest not watching due to language.

Lots of bs in college for sure, but a lot of individual professors still get it. On election day 08 I had an early class where we were getting tests returned to us. Every single test was marked with a C-. Everyone that thought they had done better freaked out, and a few people were just excited they actually passed something. After a few minutes of trying to calm everyone down, and get their attention, the professor said "Spreading the wealth around is never good for everybody" He let us know our real grades were posted online and walked out.
