Global Generation Republicans: The Next Birth of Freedom
by Rep. Thaddeus G. McCotter (R-MI)They were “Wide Awakes” – scores of torchbearers marching through sleepy hamlets to herald the emancipation of a people from the bonds of slavery into God-given liberty. These despised and decried champions of human freedom and defenders of American Union proudly called themselves “Republicans.”

Through the ensuing decades of political triumphs, falters and defeats, we Republicans never forgot our honorable heritage – until today. Amidst the stormy present, some of our compatriots suffer from an apocalyptic intimation that America’s revolutionary experiment in human freedom and self-government is over. They are wrong.
Throughout the life of the exceptional nation we’ve inherited from our parents and must bequeath to our children, America’s strength and salvation remains her free people. They have and will never let her down.
Indeed, through history’s lens Global Generation Republicans glean the transformational challenges confronting our nation.
In their time, the Greatest Generation faced and transcended four transformational challenges:
1. The social, economic and political upheavals of industrialization;
2. A world war against evil enemies;
3. The Soviet Union’s strategic threat and rival model of governance; and
4. The moral struggle of the civil rights movement.
In our time, our Global Generation faces and must transcend four transformational challenges:
1. The social, economic and political upheavals of globalization;
2. A world war against evil enemies;
3. Communist China’s strategic threat and rival model of governance; and
4. Moral relativism’s erosion of our self-evident truths.
Despite the parallels, one significant difference exists: The Greatest Generation faced their challenges consecutively; our Global Generation faces our challenges simultaneously.
To transcend these challenges, our Global Generation’s Republicans will lead. Amidst a communications revolution that empowers people to extents undreamt, we understand America’s indispensible role in the 21st Century is to continue proving and expanding the ability of human beings to self-govern and control their destinies.
The antithesis of the Left’s antiquated statism that usurps self-government to empower big government, Republicans realize the decentralization of communications and its concomitant empowerment of individuals must be matched by a decentralization of government that equally empowers individuals.
Pursuing this imperative goal, we will conserve our cherished way of life and its foundations of faith, family, community and country; and empower Americans to channel the constructive change needed to transcend our quartet of transformational challenges.
In this noble, necessary service, Global Generation Republicans are guided by our party’s five enduring principles:
1. Our liberty is from God not the government;
2. Our sovereignty is in our souls not the soil;
3. Our security is from strength not surrender;
4. Our prosperity is from the private sector not the public sector; and
5. Our truths are self-evident not relative.
Understanding “politics is the art of the possible,” we embrace our members’ variety of opinions regarding the application of these principles to contemporary challenges; and we never forget that the Left disdains our five enduring principles. Therefore, we do not mimic Leftists’ intellectual rigidity and internecine purges, because they are an anarchic luxury America can ill-afford in this chaotic age.
Instead, Global Generation Republicans will lead an American Restoration that transcends our transformational challenges by expanding self-government within our free republic’s environment of just and ordered liberty. Ultimately, Republicans know America is not an economy or a bureaucracy; America is a country. We will respectfully govern her as such to ensure she remains our shining sanctuary of liberty, inspired and guided by the virtuous genius of her free people; and eternally blessed by the unfathomable grace of God.
This is our duty. This we will do. Then, when the mists of history envelope the final, fleeting moments of our mortal passage, we will recall the day we echoed the indomitable spirit of Rupert Brooke in answering freedom’s summons:
Now, God be thanked Who has matched us with His hour,
And caught our youth, and wakened us from sleeping.
Wide awake in a benighted time, we are Global Generation Republicans fighting for the newest birth of freedom!

Bravo! We cannot take our freedom and liberty for granted. Our disastrous experiment with liberal governance has only started to rear its ugly head.
The seizure of 20% of our economy through nationalized health care, taxing energy, and confiscating the banking system are only a taste of how far liberals will go to put our cherished individualism and exceptionalism into the hands of the few.
Keep fighting, Rep McCotter. Maybe the White House will ban you, too!
Thank you Rep. Mc Cotter for the very nice article. Now may I ask you one big favor? Please stand up to these tugs in power. Yell loudly in the chamber and challange them. Fight the corruption all the way to the top. Ok, so that was actually more than one thing, sorry.
Until we weed the Republican party of the Fabian socialists disguised as 'populists' yes, Snowe and Colins- but literally dozens more nothing will be accomplished. There has been little difference between Obama and Bush other than Obama is worse.
So, choosing between one that will kill you off while another just mortally wounds you isn't much of a choice, now is it? We must get away from the east coast establishment ivy league internationalist school of leadership. They are Republicrats.
THIS is why Sarah Palin is so damn popular. At least a housewife from Wasilla isn't a clone of Kissinger/Kerry/Bush/Gore etc. We will only take our country back when the politicians represent US. And as disgruntled Republicans we say 'show us the freedom'…
Until then no votes for you…
Hey Thaddeus– I live in Chesterfield, grew up in Rochester Hills and my brother was a constituent of yours before he left the state.
As a Gen X'er born in 1969, it comes down to one thing for me: liberty. Our nation was founded on liberty, and that fact is the touchstone that resonates with the most people in my generation and the millenials. Reagan depended on evangelicals, but I don't think they'll ever be the force they were. If you guys want to win the day next year and beyond it's liberty, liberty, liberty.
This is a little good news, I hope they carry it out and get the school czar canned…. sorry for the pun.

It is happenning now… The AWAKENING ! I have never seen such rage and anger of freedom loving Americans as I have seen the last several months. It is ALGEBRAIC in growth. The legislative and executive branches of government are so self focused on their corruption that they have completely and totally lost their perspective on the citizenry. They shall pay dearly for their ignorance of the inalienable rights of the people of this great country.
God bless the military !
Time to step up our game boys and girls! The Progressives are back in full Alinsky attack mode. Perhaps we need to surprise attack from behind while we bring up our flanks. Come on people. Time's a a wasting.
Viva la Revolution'!
Long live the Republic.
Awesome essay. I hope you are one of Glenn Beck's secret "Re-Founders" already, but if not then I hope you sign up soon.

BREAKING…. I heard that a tape was being driven from Washington D.C. to Glenn Beck's NY offices. It arrived a short time ago. It will be aired this evening at 5:00 p.m. EST. Beck had to have a legal opinion before he could air it. Might be hype but probably not. It's a "jaw dropper" according to Beck's staff.
Nice speech, Nice Points, Preaching to the choir. Where's the beef? Where's the plan? Where's the Republican Party?
Anita Dunn, WH Communications Director is being thrown under the ObamaBus this week. Stay tuned, folks… It's all coming unraveled just as Rush predicted !
The Republican Party is in disarray momentarily. A minor reorganization. Currently there are only five or six of US left, we meet in my barn every Saturday at noon; where we play cards, clean our guns, sip a little bourbon and plan for the future. Don't count US out, we will be back…………..

"The Next Birth of Freedom"?
Freedom isn't free; it isn't an entitlement. Freedom will not survive as long as Socialism lives here. That brings up a question; George Soros is the root funder of many of these Progressive organizations: ACORN, SEIU, the Open Society, the Shadow Government. It is a known fact that George Soros is a Hingarian Jew, and a Nazi Collaborator. Why was Soros never tried for WAR CRIMES?

BO is speaking in New Orleans right now. It is funny how every line he has thrown has gotten rave applause,,,until he mentioned freeing up 1.8 Billion to help get the locals 'working' again. Nuthin but crickets followed. Of course he had to throw in that it was the mess Bush made. Nothing said about the generations of corupt dems who put the levee repair and maint. money in their own pockets.
New Olrleans, just like all third-world locations, the more money you dump on them the more dependency is created to the point that the locals will do nothing to help themselves. Just give me another government check!

Rep. McCotter, great read, and inspiring. I only hope that your political brethren in Washington get the memo. “We the People,” are awake and we’re pissed. If you are in the political business be certain you find yourself on the right side, because when the music ends in 2010 you may find yourself without a chair.
I saw that. I thought it was just me with my racist, right wing slant. For a minute I thought the batteries on my hearing aid died.
On another nore, do ya reckon while Borat was there, if he was gonna met with Wade Rathke? A council of war perhaps?
Set down the cards and bourbon the Republican Leaders are supporting those industries enough. Go with the plan you have and act now. Just leave the guns and ammo at home, scratch that off the list. You may need to save the ammo for later.
It was a CAT 5 hurricane … Geez!!! I guess everyone forgeta about all the floods up north in MO, OH, IL – yea we barely heard from them becaue they got up and worked as a group and took care fo themselves…..
We need to elect conservatives in this upcoming election and take back the congress. This will gut the power of these leftist malcontents and make Obama a lame duck. We can't stop there. We need to investigate this entire mess going back to FDR and repeal every dem bill that has ruined this country. We need to go after Obama and impeach him and this time we throw him out even at the risk of a race war, civil war with the commie moochers. We need to destroy this Wilson/FDR cancer that the statist thinks they own us, our money and our lives. These bums work for us and we all better start acting like Bosses and fired all these crooks and throw the ones in jail that have stolen from the public trust. We must break up Acorn, the ACLU, the unions and their thugs, we must end PC and all the nonsense that goes with it. We have to bust up the teacher's union. We have to bring back God into this country because what we have now isn't working. We need to control the judges to rule as interpreters of the law and not activist. If they can't rule they way the founders wanted. We change the constitution to be able to throw then off the bench or they work for nothing, they lose their pensions. Lets see how long they will be activist. They all love OUR money. Cut all politicians pay by 50% or more. Put them on SS and get rid of these full pensions. Put them on the same healthcare we have to be on. If they leave their district in a deficit, they lose everything, they have to give back every dime they were given while they were working, Since they FAILED the district they have to pay it all back and do jail time. Treat these pigs the way you would treat executives that run a company who are responsible to the stockholders. We are the stockholders and congress men are the general partners and they are responsible 24/7 to make this country work. What we have are drunken sailors spending OUR money on leave. Time to do an accounting and start putting these people in jail for life with no parole or pardon. This is OUR country and our money, time to call in the bill and make then PAY for have a party of over 100 years.
I believe this is going to happen, because the leftist malcontents are always consistent. IF we don't take back the congress, they will become more emboldening and grab more power and more money until we don't have any say in anything. WE THE PEOPLE have two choices, one to take back the country and have the courage to clean house. Our other choice is that the left will drive us all into the streets for another civil war or a complete revolution. The malcontents and what they are forcing down our throats isn't going to fly with Americans who believe in liberty. They offer us NOTHING but poverty and we can't complain, none of this is up for any negotiations. They are doomed in the end because like everything about this cult of leftist malcontents we are not buying what they are selling. Only the moochers, slackers and free loaders are supporting this massive extortion racket called the Democratic party. Its time for Americans to take back this country and we need new, passionate blood in congress and people who are not afraid to through these leftist animals in jail along with their quislings republicans. Just asked yourself, would the founding fathers put up with this Obama misprint we have in the White House along with the freak show called Pelosi/Reed hour. It is either our country or theirs…..
Can you feel it Cowboy? I can feel the energy building almost daily.
Huzzah! I'm ready to sign up. Excellent points about the power of the internets (sic) to thwart our Ossified Leviathan DC Establishment.
Because he has money and many in power want some of it, make that all of it.
Something is coming. It is in the wind.
Outrageously pertinent and accurate analogies as it relates to us "average" Americans. You are dead on, my friend ! They would not last a year as a freedom loving normal working American !
You get a gold star, kudos and 100 points !

Is this a joke, McCotter? You support the taking of my money to "loan" to the failed auto industry and now you're talking about some new birth of freedom? Give me a break! It's people like you and Snowe that are the problem.
"Republicans realize the decentralization of communications and its concomitant empowerment of individuals must be matched by a decentralization of government that equally empowers individuals."
…which is why you're "decentralizedly" empowering pet owners with the HAPPY Act?
Sorry, Mr. McCotter, but giving people "carrot" Federal tax breaks for keeping pets is not a decentralization of government. Could we have a little less rhetoric and a little more action, please?
I cannot bring myself to watch him any longer. I have had it! I cant even stand to hear his voice so I will read all about it in the news.
I had a chance to speak with this gentleman, one on one.
I walked away with my hair standing on end. He had me pumped up.This man is the real deal .
We're gonna win this war.

I’m in agreement with your ideas, Mr. McCotter, but I also feel that we could use more deeds than words right about now. For instance, signing the GOP letter that calls for the removal of Keith Jennings might have been one act to challenge the erosion of moral relativism we face. Where was your signature?
I'm so glad to see my thoughts echoed in this article. We need to begin to deconstruct and decentralize the power that has been concentrated in Washington. It has become obvious that this kind of centralized power inevitably results in totalitarian tendencies, even when it occurs within a Constitutional Republic.
Correction to above … Kevin Jennings
Dear Republican leaders,
Please adhere to the five principles listed above. We need you to be strong and fight the good fight, because we are willing to fight with you. If you do not lead by republican principles, then we hereby reserve the right to oust you from office.
We want our country back. Please help us.
Can't wait. I hope its good!
1. Our liberty is from God not the government.
I would argue that liberty comes to those who seize it. Our forefathers created their own liberty and, hence, ours as well. But, today's American's are letting that liberty slip away while taking sides in a political war ("repulicans" vs. "Democrats" that is nothing more than a side show politicians use to stay in power.

Agreed!
Couldn't have put it better Gerard. The social conservatives need to take a back seat and get on the Freedom Bandwagon!
"We have to bring back God into this country because what we have now isn't working."
So we're gonna kick out the Jews and the towel heads, right? And we'll just burn the secular humanists and atheists at the stake, right? Do you see where you admission of religion into the political calculus will RUIN this country. Go read Jefferson's "Virginia Statute of Religious Freedom".
Enough with the God crap already…you're never gonna get a plurality of votes through a religious political platform; it's too divisive. The issue is LIBERTY. Sorry to offend the pious, but you need to get real. The politics of religion is a recipe for disaster if you push it too far.
See the latest video found of Anita Dunn talking to high school kids – guess who she admires the most ….wait for it …. Mao Tse Tung
Everyone call your sentaors and spread the word…. Wonder how CNN is feeling now ….
But, the number 1 mass murder in the shortest amount of time is;
Mao Tse Tung: During the years 1958 and 1959, China experienced what was hailed by Marxists as the "Great Leap Forward." During this time, Mao Tse Tung's regime was directly responsible for between 30 and 40 million deaths."
How is Robert Gibbs going to explain this one ? How can any true Americian that has ANY verteran members past or present be for this administration !!!! How ?
who said anything about kicking anyone out? Didn't America have religion and God in our schools from 1789 until the atheist took it out in 1963 and since then we have lived ins such a wonderful world of anything goes. Also isn't the God of the jews the same as christians??? Isn't islam a copy of both jewish and christian religion. A little religion won't kill anyone, we might end up changing the idea of killing the unborn. I wonder what Jefferson would write about killing the unborn. I have read Jefferson Statute, America still taught kids some kind of moral standards. Today we have no standards, we have a mess. Religion was brought into the political calculus during the writing of the Declaration and drafting of the constitution during that 8 year debate. Our founders were all religious men, even the deist who didn't belong to any organized religion. All of them prayed in public and where nothing like we are today. Religion didn't seen to hurt them while they were debating the constitution and bill of rights. They established a constitutional republic, it wasn't perfect, but what is on this useless planet. The non-believers, the agnostics, christian haters, God haters have yet to come up with a better system. All they can do is yell how religion will ruin this country. What do you have to offer?? What the baby boomers came up with, we this after they crawled out of the mud in woodstock or before? What we have today is a disaster, the cultist of malcontents that created this leftist paradise only know how to tear down what has been built and worked since 1776 and they have replaced it with nothing. Absolutely nothing…. all we have is a section of self-loathing Americans who just want to destroy the greatest Republic made by man. If you find another one out there lets us know so we can follow their lead.
I go along with everything but the global part. We are not global. We are a constitutional Republic governed by the rule of law. At least the Republicans are.
Anita Dunn love Mau… wow

The seeds for future Republican success are already here in the likes of Thad McCotter, Sarah Palin, and Bobby Jindal, to name only three from a multitude. All that's neccessary to make it happen is to get the small, stupid dinosaurs like Olympia Snowe, Susan Collins, and Lindsey Graham to get out of the way.
Hmmm What's Glenn up to ?
http://politics.theatlantic.com/2009/10/whats_gle...
You are correct.
To this day, people confuse Republic and democracy, and use them simultaneously. They are not interchangable.
FYI, not everyone who hasn't forgotten the "endowed by their Creator" clause in the Declaration of Independence are pushing for a religious political platform.
All seems mute though soon as you throw in the topic of the auto companies, doesn't it? Until you practice what you preach against the auto-companies and local interests, just another funny guy to listen to on Red Eye.
" “I also remind our critics that earlier this year economist Mark Zandi concluded that a full-blown bankruptcy of our American-based automobile industry would cost taxpayers about $240 billion in just two years of social safety net programs – over $150 billion more than the auto industry’s bridge loan. Thus, I am again compelled to further remind our critics that the estimated $240 billion in social safety net spending would not have been repayable to the taxpayers, as is the bridge loan."

Stay active. Defeat the fascist corrupt democrap.
Ya, but "endowed by their Creator" is nothing but a postulate to make claim to what the other person stated above about "to those who seize it". I would say, to be more accurate, "to those who seize it back".

I just tore up more Socialist Security check. Guess what the amounts was? $666.32
32 cents stands for the year that socialist Nazi FDR was elected I think. Scary huh? (besides my equivalent contribution was exceeded when I turned 67 so it's only right as a Jesus fearing pro-capitalist to stand to opt out of this collectivist system. I image my funeral will be sometime in January considering the corporate bank that I worship says I can't live here anymore. But those guys are the new poors of America with the loss of their life giving profits and all. At least i won't go to the grave sucking on other people's labor fruits. the founderers wouldn't have frowned on that. I live like the founders except without the huge tracts of land and slave owning. Although there are a few asian whores in my neighborhood who probly would like to live in my house wink wink. Anywho i even own one of them three corner hat deals. It's blue and made of felt just like John Handcock wore.)
Thank you Rep. McCotter. I wish you were my Rep., but I live in the Michigan 15th District.
Keep up the good work, and hold the progressive liberals accountable until we can vote them out.
An inspiring piece of writing.
And an interesting concept into the bargain. The Global Generation. It's easy to understand, accurate, appropriate and catchy.
BTW the late night appearances on Red Eye are hilarious.
Yes, great on Red Eye…..*thumbs up*
What was it?
Cowboy Logic, Soros' Nazi collaboration, while sickening, was as a Hungarian teenager when he provided identities of Hungarian Jews (I'm citing Ann Coulter on this; I have done no research myself, so can't swear to anything), with no information apparently provided as to exactly who/where those identities were given or under what circumstances. I doubt whether there's a chargeable crime, as the information about this collaboration is attributed to Soros himself during an interview, and it isn't likely there's any independent evidence still laying around the Hungarian archives (his own interview admissions would not likely be admissable in a legal procedure). According to Coulter, there are tapes or videos of the interview on the Net (I don't have a URL and haven't seen/heard any of it). However, if someone could revive the Alien & Sedition Act, I'd sure like to see him dangled from that rope.

I sincerely hope that you mean every word you said in your article, Congressman. The true patriots of this precious country badly need some hope right now – not the superficial, silver-tongued, follow-me-to-socialism kind that Barack Obama is shoveling. We desperately need the kind of hope that our forefathers clung to and nurtured in the darkest days of our young country, when evil men stood poised to stab freedom through the heart. We need to know that you believe in our founding principles enough to die for them – because we are prepared to do the same to protect our families, our lives and our sacred honors. If you are one of those men, then God bless you, sir. If we all band together, we can surely defeat the evil that is liberalism in this country.
Get out of here Larouchies. You dont get to be a parasite on our movement. Take your Hitler-mustache-Obama posters with you.
Since McCotter represents a district part of Greater Detroit, he cant afford to be that pure and stay in office. I've been following him for awhile and he is one of the best we got. (Albeit a bit too prolix; that blogpost needed a firm red pencil.) Take his actions as a whole.
Glad to see that someone is reading Saul Alinsky's book "Rules for Radicals". I recommend everyone to get a copy and read it. Knowledge is power. You can use the same rules against the progressives. Everything that comes out of the White House is so transparent, stop the nonsense, I read the book. Pick any subject and Alinsky will extrapolated to some form government intervention( e.g. global warming, extrapolated to cap and trade) One of these days "smoke detectors" will extrapolate to having your house/apartment to be inspected every year and a little sticker will be placed in your window, of course, if it fails the inspection you have move out until it's fixed—–just like your car. Now you pick a subject and see how quickly it comes out that some form of government intervention will occur. READ OLINSKY'S BOOK AND USE THE SAME RULES AGAINST THEM!
Arby, you're exactly right. Listen up, my Christian brothers and sisters. Thomas Jefferson was a Deist, not a Theist, not a Christian. Deism is next door to atheism, in that Deists don't believe in a personal God who watches over us and answers our prayers. They believe God kick–started the universe and adopted a hands-off stance ever since.
When you say, "endowed by our Creator," you could just as easily substitute "endowed by Natural Law." I know this doesn't set well with many, and I truly don't wish to offend. Although I'm an atheist (no-theist), I can easily support my Christian brothers and sisters who run for public office, as long as they're conservative.
When you start pounding the Bible and pushing religion, you turn off loads of voters. We're a constitutional republic, which guarantees the rights of the minority. In the sense of religious freedom, the minority is composed of atheists, many of whom are sick of hearing how Jesus would vote Republican. We're here in the material world. It's time to make a go of that and worry about the supernatural world with like-minded people.

"The seeds for future Republican success are already here in the likes of Thad McCotter, Sarah Palin, and Bobby Jindal…"
Republican success = American failure.
The elephant is as dead as the donkey. Make it into tankage, and have free, open and fair elections in the USA.
Love seeing people amped up here. We need to get this around to other conservatives. Twitter it. Blog it. Mark my words, this guy is going to be President someday.
Definitely was a "jaw dropper". Absolutely unbelievable that no one else is picking it up and running with it. Thank God for Glenn having the guts to stick with all this.
Priceless! I lived in McCotter’s district a few years ago. He was good then but he has really become the voice of reason over the last year or two and even my daughter said how eloquent he is. I completely agree with Jeffrey JoeBlough about his RedEye appearances – they remind me of being home. Also, Visionary is right about him being President someday. I’m sending this to our Tea Party list as it finally articulates what everyone else thinks.
Well said. It was hundreds of years of sectarian strife on the Continent that helped to shape the Founding Fathers' vision of religious liberty. The truth of the matter is, that religious freedom grew out of a desire to protect minority religious sects from the larger sects, mainly Protestantism. The more we tear down the wall between church and state (as the previous president attempted to do) the LESS freedom we will all (believer and non-believer alike) will become.
…and there I was, thinking that I was the only Atheist on this board.
Excellent. Now when does the Republican party actually come out and proclaim this and condemn the big government spending and deficits under GWB?
Larry, you found the right place. We all feel that way. Plus, when I went back to visit my parents in McCotter’s district – he was saying how wrong GWB’s spending was on local TV and people were getting really mad at him for it. Even some hard right GOP’ers were mad when he was the first to come out against the Wall Street bailout against the other leaders in DC. My parents and I loved it. Oh how a year changes things….
Right! A price for Big Government Conservatism must be exacted! I don't think the '08 election was driven by fiscal conservatives giving up on the GOP. See Michael Tanner's "Leviathan on the Right", it's exasperating.
This is why the Democrats will NEVER lose power again. While the Republican base is (justifiably) infuriated over their representatives' decision and refusing to support them, the Democrat base are all slobbering and ingratiating and slavishly supporting Democrat politicians.
The Republicans couldn't get conservatives to vote for them if they tried, but the Democrats have only to say "Hi, we're Democrats" and the liberals RUSH to the voting booth.

The Republicans couldn't get conservatives to vote for them if they tried… but the Democrats have only to say "Hi, we're Democrats" and the liberals RUSH to the voting booth, all squealing like teenage girls and furiously masturbating.
The Republicans at the very least give lip service to the law. The Democrats are a law unto themselves, as far as they're concerned, and they've stopped trying to hide it.
Don't forget the auto industry the Government "owns". And
don't kid yourself into believing the current administration
was right in the middle of the bankrupcy.
Anybody else enraged that only liberals have civil liberties?
Rush can't co-own a NFL team? Where is the ACLU now?
Who cares what Al or Jessie feel about it? Isn't it Rush's
right… this is very scary to me. I feel like we are living
"Animal Farm".
it should read "wasn't" meaning they very much were in the mix.
Great one, bravo!
If Obama can't support the constitutional republic of Honduras, it's fair to question his commitment to our own.
Very good essay Rep. McCotter. But one thing was missing, the Federal Reserve. It's the Federal Reserve that steals our freedom by stealing our money. The conept of a central bank that can just continue to print money at will is the antithesis of a free society. As long as freedom loving government representatives like Rep. McCotter don't face the issue head on, we have no hope of securing our freedom. We are doomed to be slaves to the statists. All the authoritarian regimes throughtout history have been based upon a central bank. When we did not have a central bank we were free, no longer.
Rep. McCotter. excellent, excellent, excellent!!! if only your state had another dozen of you in power…
distilled and analyzed and applied extremely well… keep it up and keep the pressure on.. we will prevail..
Thanks for your principals and your hard work…
One disagreement with the article:
"Our sovereignty is in our souls not the soil"
Our sovereignty is ALSO in the soil, in the form of our borders, which the illegal incursion from practically every other nation on earth, through the southern border, and visa overstays, threatens.
Those entering legally, and becoming a productive part of society, and NOT attempting to "fundamentally transform" it into exactly what they left, STRENGTHEN us. Unfortunately, FAR too often, this is not the case, and our sovereignty is compromised.
We can nit pick all we want but this is the 1 guy from RedEye and the Tea Parties to the House floor that doesn’t seem like an empty suit. I’m going to memorize this article so the next time someone asks me why I am a conservative – I can say this without a teleprompter. LOL.
Why do we need Mitt or Sarah or Pawlenty or another retread? We’ve got something here that is intelligent, hip and new! McCotter for President!!!
Liberty; Most Liberals don't understand this word. How much of your money does the Government control? The answer is ALL OF IT!!!. Without your money you have No Liberty. You only think you do.
Sad to say but 43% of Americans would Still vote for this CORRUPT Administration again. Is it just Ignorance, Stupidity or are these voters just as Corrupt?
It's the American Revolution, Part II.
maybe not- their hardcore support- both parties actually- is 17%… the other 63% of the people are somewhat maleable. And they are scared right now. Anything is possible…
I sure believe in everything Thaddeus says, except the part of freedom coming from God. See, I'm an atheist. Can I join anyway? I can almost make it work if I substitute the words "the life force of the universe" for "God". But maybe you have an acid test where you have to really believe in GOD -God, not "for all intents and purposes" God. I'd like to know how many who subscribe to this philosophy actually believe in God, and how many go along with it and button their lips about it because it's so much closer to what they believe in than what the other party espouses.
Jack, please. So many believe that prayer in the schools was universal. It was not. And that prayer was, more or less, compulsory. My uncle learnt to fight at an early age because, being Jewish, he got attacked by gangs of "good Christian" children on his way to or from school.
Prayer in school was not outlawed. Compulsory prayer was, as well it should have been. The fact that school administrators are busting kids for saying grace of their lunch shows how much power these dime-store martinets like to exercise over folks who cannot push back, and nothing more.
My view is this: if one's faith is so fragile, so delicate, so weak, that it cannot survive from 8AM to 3PM without being reinforced, then perhaps it is time to rethink one's beliefs. A strong faith will not be overcome by the blathering of some NEA or AFT marionette.

[...] Rep. McCotter shares his thoughts on Global Generation Republicans. [...]
There is one thing that would absolutely get the attention of, not only the members of Congress, but also the fringe media: Have a huge Tea Party EVERY WEEK in Washington DC like we had Sept. 12! There’s no way that could be ignored.
The Republican party needs to remove the shackles of Gov't from our feet. Turn us lose and let us run free.
And to all the dead beats out the there that thinks the Gov't can and will take care of them, get a life and get a job.
You don't get it. The automotive companies make things. Banks don't, government doesn't, speeches don't, promises don't, and socialists have always failed.
