Why Obama Will Be Clinton Without The Comeback
by Thomas Del BeccaroThe retirement of Evan Bayh is the latest heralding of difficult 2010 election year for the Democrats. It is also a symptom of Obama’s mid 40s approval rating. Smart Democrats know that the average midterm election year losses for the President’s party, when his approval rating is below 50%, is 41 seats in the House. Three Presidents in the modern era suffered such a fate – Johnson, Ford and Bill Clinton. Of those three, only Clinton went on to win a second term. While it is likely Obama will suffer huge mid-term losses, it is more than unlikely that he will enjoy Clinton’s revival.

Clinton suffered the loss of 54 House seats in his first midterm election, despite a growing economy, because he broke his middle class tax cut promise – and the Republicans were smart enough to unanimously oppose that and run on the Contract With America. Despite the loss of the House for the first time in 40 years, Clinton won reelection.
Clinton was able to win reelection in part because Bob Dole was not an effective candidate for the Republicans on the tax issue. Clinton also famously triangulated in 1995 and 1996 with the help of longtime strategist Dick Morris. Dropping ideology for practicality, in 1995 and 1996, Clinton pushed a national campaign to prevent teen pregnancy, issued an order clarifying the rights of religious expression in schools, supported uniforms for public schools, banned human cloning, signed Megan’s law and welfare reform to name a few less than ideological triangulations. Even before that, Clinton incurred the wrath of unions by pushing the ratification of NAFTA.
Of course, as the Governor of a swing state, Bill Clinton leaned an early lesson in pragmatism after he was defeated in his bid for a second term. After apologizing for the policies that led to his reelection defeat, he regained the governorship and went on to enact mandatory competency testing for teachers and granted tax breaks to businesses – again with triangulating guru Dick Morris by his side.
Clinton’s revivals, especially at the Presidential level, can be directly tied to the fact (1) that he had executive experience, (2) that he dealt with the need to build consensus out of division, (3) that he had advisors pushing him to do that, AND (4) that he was smart enough to have such advisors and to listen to them.
Obama, quite frankly, has none of that going for him.
First, Obama has had no executive experience and has never worked in setting which required consensus building. That is because Senators don’t have to govern and community organizers preach to their own. That inexperience is now showing in spades. As I wrote in my article, How Many Fights Will Obama Pick With America, Obama’s first strategy was divisive not consensus building. His deficit exploding Stimulus Package, Cap and Trade, Health Care and Civil Terror trial initiatives are and remain ideologically based and unsuccessful. Beyond that, President Obama’s agenda is being whipsawed by Congresswoman Pelosi. Simply stated, an effective, experienced chief executive never would let a member of congress control his fate to this degree.
As for his advisors, the radical ties of his Czars are well documented and David Axelrod and Rahm Emanuel are no Dick Morris. Indeed, notwithstanding the loss of the Kennedy seat (as Democrats view it), Obama’s budget belies any claim to moderation as does his continued push for health care, cap and trade and now tax hikes. Beyond that, Obama has already lost control of the jobs bill and Nancy and Harry are committed to legislating from the Left – a big factor in Bayh’s retirement. Dick Morris never would have let that occurred – apparently Axelrod and Emanuel either don’t understand that or can’t prevent it.
In sum, we have met Barack Obama, we now know Barack Obama and he is no Bill Clinton. Let’s just hope Republicans recall the lessons of 1994 even Obama can’t.

Obama is a marxist/statist ideologue who has already been running to be secretary general of the UN and Clinton was a liberal selfish pragmatist.
Obama's only piece of legislation while in the senate was to tax the USA a percentage of our GDP to be paid to the UN so it could be distributed to rest of world via the IMF.
How could the media miss this little factoid if they could look under every rock in Wasilla, AK?
.
It's common knowledge that Bill Clinton was the first black President…!
Maybe Barry needs to have an affair? That may be the only thing to coalesce his party back around him…?
It's like, he's not just a Socialist — he wants to be THE socialist of the entire world.
I heard about the Obama Tax on USA — Would have been 250-300 billion every single year. That's a lot of hope and change.
With contributions like that, guess they couldn't say no to him if he said he wanted to run the UN. And he's been campaigning already in Europe and the Middle East!
Creepy dude is already running to be the global dictator now, like he was running for president before his seat was warm in the senate. Good thing he's never been anywhere long enough to figure out how to run anything.
Did anyone really listen to what Obama was saying during the campaign?
Did they read his books?
Did the Media follow up on ANY issue concerning his LACK of experience?
Did the Media ask him a SINGLE tough question?
The answer to all the above is NO!
The information was there for everyone to see. We have a Media that despises all America stands for and ran to the first Marxist canidate they could find.
Oh and by the way did I mention – He's Black so you can stop feeling guilty about Americas racial past now too!
The preplanned riots of 2012 are not going to be fun. When Obama loses in 2012, there will likely be riots, looting, burning, and other acts of mayhem, nationwide. ACORN, Jackson, Sharpton, and Chris Matthews will do their level best to make sure this happens. Bet. I mean listen to them already, three years out.
Its all GW's fault !!! just ask them LOL
"Obama is not a socialist; rather he's a far-left secular progressive bent on nothing short of revolution."
~Dr. Charles Krauthammer
The UIC (under-achiever in chief) will undergo a "rebranding" in an effort to:
1. Attack those who do not agree with his agenda in a more timely and frequent manner.
2. Try to give the illusion that he is not so much a progressive as he is a populist liberal.
Neither will work. The average American does not subscribe to the methods of Alinsky or other radicals like John Podesta. The UIC does not comprehend or respect our Constitution.
Apparently the "Second Black President" is going to go down in flames and be another one term wonder.
Thank God!
While it appears that Obama is in serious trouble right now, who knows what tricks are up his sleeves. Have we have seen with the Black Panther Community Organizing brigade, ACORN and SEIU purpleshirt thugs, and Franken's "found" election ballots the Democratic/Progressives/Socialist are not above dirty tricks to further the Revolution. And also, do not discount the MSM. I am sure they will be looking through rose color glasses, and will tell the public that the United States is in the best condition EVER. So, keep an eye out.
So there it is, he's black. But don't let our racist past stop you from hating him for no reason except the color of his skin. But never say the N word…. use code words like Nazi, socialist, Marxist or Hitler. That way people won't know we really hate him because he's black. I appreciate your honesty Carl.
George Washington? How so?
Everyone knows black men can't keep their hands off the ladies… ey einy? And Barry makes him sound much blacker that Barack… but you're not a racist.
Once again the only executive experience Barry has, is what he’s read in a book. And to expect this guy to adapt on the fly, not likely. His job as president, was to read the teleprompter, and his leftist minions would take care of the dirty work. But, like the apes in 2001, and the discovery of the monolith, the American economy confuses hard core leftist, and the American people pushing back so hard…don’t they know we’re going to give them free stuff? 93% of the people surrounding this guy have zero business experience, perhaps he should talk to the 7% that have been in the private sector. Politically the Democrats have created a demigod, the ultimate narcissist, no way he’ll moderate his positions for political expediency, what you see, is what you get. In ‘96 it was Dole’s turn, ’08 was McCain’s turn, I don’t believe we have any more dinosaurs in the wings at the RNC? …we’ll see!
Einy, Dr. Krauthammer has disavowed saying that:
http://www.americanexperiment.org/events/2009/200...
Apparently an email went around after he spoke at the American Experiment annual dinner, and they put out a statement for him.
Hitler is what the left often called George W. Bush.
Nazi is the term for Tea Partiers according to Mrs. Pelosi.
President Obama's policies do lean to the Socialist side of the political spectrum.
I saw nothing in Carl Tyson's post that infers racism. Hell, liberal commentators have called President Obama the post racial president so why can't Carl Tyson say the same thing.
The more the racism/race card is played the less value it has and more people are ignoring those who use this tact.
Just my opinion, though.
I dislike him because of his policies and actions. ONLY those reasons!
Unfortunately, there's people out there who ONLY see the color of his skin. And, this is a big issue for them. Either to get him elected in the first place, or to get rid of him. He was supposed to unite and put racism behind us… I haven't seen that yet.
Barry-Oh is (surprisingly) keeping it together… on the verge of meltdown at any moment but stick a totus in front of him and off he goes. The State of the Union was likely the final straw for many of his useful idiots in the Dem/Rep central party. Gee, for liars, cheaters, and thieves they sure do offend easily.
For some reason I keep having this recurring dream of John Roberts wailing on B-O's face right in the middle of that speech shouting "you should be more polite!". Twisted or patriotic?
After reading your thoughts two words came to mind: Mitch Daniels
"another one term wonder."… A WONDER about how he got elected in the first place…
Me…A racist? You're more of a fool than I first imagined. Troll along now…
I'm sure there are plenty of articles over at the Puffington Post that are more up your alley…!?
Patriotic in a fun, twisted way.
Oh…Thanks Maggie. I wasn't aware of that. I actually heard it during a conversation over the weekend, and looked it up, but didn't see that he retracted. Nevertheless…It's a poignant statement that has plenty of merit.
Thanks for the correction…!
I don't blame his failure on inexperience. Our government is supposed to be "of the people", which means regular people SHOULD be in there. The problem lies in his beliefs.
He believes in Socialism, Communism, etc… He believes in classes… government class can get away with anything they want, rich class is there to finance the government, middle class is there to convert to lower class, and lower class is there to suck America dry and give him votes.
He does not believe in a free market. He wants to CONTROL everything. His beliefs contradict everything America is about.
But, he's a good, charismatic speaker, so he gets elected…
Actually, Barack is much more "ethnic" than Barry, but that's splitting hairs.
He was comparing him to Clinton, a white guy and the last Democratic president with sinking poll numbers, who couldn't keep his hand soff the ladies. But don't let the obvious conclusion keep you from playing that race card earl and often. Ass.
Bush was compared to Hitler for attacking a country that was not a threat to us. Pelosi talked about the Nazi tactics of the teaparty rallies whose members walked around with Nazis symbols on their posters.
Obama's only sin is he happens to be black. To the teaparty, post racial just means it's ok to hate the blacks, just don't get caught.
ACORN.
I sure agree that the comment has plenty of merit!
Here's a hint: look at who he ran against.
NEVER imagined I'd be saying this, but I'd take The Slicker right now.
O'Bambi has exceeded Jimmah injust one year. Imagine 3 more?
Good point.
A senile moron.
Mik,
Your are working overtime to prove your idiocy lately.
Impossible for the ultimate puppeteer to shift his position on anything, and even IF a miracle happened and he did pretend to traingulate, it won't work – too many now see the arrogance, the lies, the deception and to me, the downright disdain for our country. A revolution in the making? I'm afraid it is and it won't be pretty.
But if we can just stir up the racial prejudices that live in all of us, perhaps we can create a racial wedge that will ensure a white president…. teaparty 101. But let's use code so we don't scare off those who are not as racially pure as we…
You lay with dogs, you get the smell on you. Look around you.
okay, obama is no clinton…………..but is palin a perot? your whole analysis of clinton's recovery failed to recognize the effect perot had on the election
You're too right, but hopefully they will be the last race riots. This will be Obama's legacy — his presidency was so bad, his skin color couldn't save him.
The coming conservative administrations will have their hands full undoing his aberrations and restoring our representative democracy to its proud traditions.
Have you invented a language using only non sequiturs?
I hadn't even mentioned your hatred of the g -ays. You won't find a lot of them at your rallies either.
What we need is a "good, charismatic speaker", but one with an operating brain.
Did the author, Mr. Thomas Del Beccaro, ever hear of H. Ross Perot. No where in this article does he mention that Clinton was elected for only one reason and one reason only — Perot's name on the ballot. If our side can't get things straight, what can we expect of those who oppose us.
Emanuel's "F—–g retards" comment about the left in the Democratic Party last week shows that at least one of Obama's closest advisors is at the very least, realizing that maintaining ideological purity against all the polling showing Americans don't what what the White House and Congress are pushing is political suicide.
Rahm's the only top advisor to Obama who came out of the Clinton Administration, and he is the one who recruited all those Blue Dogs to run for the House in 2006 and 2008 (and reportedly is trying to make sure Blue Dog Barron Hill is the Dems' nominee to replace Evan Bayh in the Indiana Senate race), so he at least has the dawning recognition that in order to win again in 2012, Obama's going to have to start triangulating like Clinton. The problem is right now, there is no Republican power base in Washington to triangulate against (the closest thing being the five Supreme Court judges Barack went off on in the SOTU speech), and even if the GOP does regain the House and/or Senate this November and Emanuel realizes the need to triangulate, the next question is does Obama want to do it, or can he do it without coming across as a complete phony to swing voters. Barack's just as likely to jettison Rahm, keep Axelrod and the Chicago gang and hire a new CoS who's a true hard-line leftist and wants to run a scorched earth policy against the Republicans.
I LOVE that quote.
If that statement is true, then what are you doing here? You must enjoy the smelll…?
No matter…As long as you keep posting, and keep complaining, I know what I'm doing is working. Thanks for playing…!
Actually, the main reason Clinton was elected the first time was Bush's broken tax pledge. His tax hike led to a higher deficit and Perot appeared on the scene. The second Clinton election again had less to do with Perot than the Republicans decision to nominate the Republican that had voted more times than any other to raise taxes – Bob Dole. In other words, twice in a row Republicans ceded the prosperity issue by nominating candidates that were terrible on taxes – Perot was the resultant symptom – not the cause. As it relates to Clinton's second term, he adjusted dramatically and that is why he was elected a second time. Wihtout that adjustment – no reelection. Perot's numbers dropped off significantly and it is unclear that Dole could have made up the difference even without Perot.
Imagine Whirled Peas.
As Larry Elder said, more people voted FOR Obama because of his skin color than voted against him. I do not seem to live in a world world defined by race. Where on earth do you reside that this is still a problem for you?
Sir, frankly, I agree with you. Teaparty 101 is motivated by race. And tapping into, stirring up and proliferating the racial prejudices in all of us.
It's simple and plain to see.
Teapartiers keep turning to the Constitution as their bedrock, or bible, if you will. This is not simply a patriotic effort to uphold the legislative, executive and judicial fundamentals that this country has followed for low over two centuries. No, it is a direct effort to sublimate and effortlessly evoke the racial prejudices that live in all of us.
The Constitution was written by wealthy white landowners. Written at a time when people of African descent were not considered people. Written to be applicable to white people. So, clearly, the teaparty's effort to wrap itself in the Constitution is an effort to hold tight and bind to a specific time and ideology of American history. It is an invocation of a happier time for white folks. A time when Black's were slaves and wealthy white land owners espoused decrees of governance and were the only ones who could vote on them.
We can all see this clearly.
The additional negative effect of this effort to use the Constitution to stir up racial prejudice is that it provides a psychological barrier for minorities to overcome. The constant reminder that this country was founded by white people, founded for white people and is governed by white people creates a sense of despair and impotence that is not easily combated within the collective psyche of the minority population.
Constantly beating the Constitutional drum is a means of enforcing a a new form of segregation in this nation.
And while Mikatollah is spot on in his statement that 'racial prejudices live in all of us'; I think it is amazing the Black folks are able to (in spite of the constant reminders of slavery, inequality and hatred provided by the Constitution) have the courage to look past race and support a Black president based on his previous contributions to government, fitness for office and the political agenda and plan he communicated so openly and effectively during his campaign for office; rather than simply support him because he is black.
Kudos to mikatollah for pointing out what a divisive and subjugatory document the Constitution truly is.
I'll take that bet. I think people will be so so very tired of Barry that his support will be near zero. And don't forget that race riots aren't about race any more than sports team riots are about the fact that your team won or lost. They're about turning over cars and breaking store windows and a lot of booze.
I do believe you have hit the nail on the head…!
Completely agree, but you forget the Republicans' contribution to Clinton victories: RINOs.
How can you claim to know anything the teaparty is about? Do you not think that there must have been some white people voting Obama into office?
His sins have nothing to do with his skin color…they have everything to do with his efforts to destroy our country via deficits and redistribution of wealth on a scale unimagined!!
It defies logic…especially Cowboy Logic!
You should try going to a liberal blog and defending your ideas. But be warned, those folks know stuff and won't let you get away with talking points.
One difference between the left and right is the right loves to have its political views parroted back to them. They don't want a lot of conflicting opinions. Why is it that Rush never invites liberal politicians onto his radio show. Because polls tell him you don't care to hear what they have to say. You watch only f o x news and would never turn on MSNBC. A case in point is a guy who posted yesterday that he had blocked the channel so that his kids couldn't watch it. You get all of your climate information from foreign sources because the American research doesn't fit your world view. Finally, you blame the shortcomings of right wing politicians on the "liberal media".
Liberals on the other hand get information everywhere. I watch f o x news everyday. Left wing radio brings in lots of dissenting opinion and we hang out on right wing blogs to see if what we are being told by the "liberal media" it true. It is…
Actually (as you narrowly avoided pointing out), the subject of slavery was a topic of discussion during the constitutional convention. Jefferson himself was in favor (as he had tried in Virginia previously) to put in language that would eliminate slavery within a generation. Unfortunately, at that time it was just as divisive an issue as it was in future generations.
The Constitution is sound. Not perfect, but sound. The issue of slavery was resolved and the 'racial prejudices' which you believe still exist are gone in just about every citizen of the United States. Calling President Clinton the first black president isn't racist- is reaffirming a title that his own supporters bestowed on him
Your reference to Ross Perot is far more appropriate to Clinton's first election – not his second. This article deals with his comback. Keep in mind Perot's numbers dropped dramtically for the second election – from 19% to 8%. meanwhile, Republicans nominated Dole who inspired very few and he trailed the entire election in the polls and badly in fundraising. A close review of the history showed Dole was doomed in May as the Democrats pounded him with ads and he had no money to respond. There is no clear data that say that Dole would have overcome Cltinon but for Perot in 1996 in part because for two elections in a row Republicans nominated tax increasers – Bush I broke his pledge and Dole voted to raise taxes perhaps more than any Republican in Congress. That combination depressed Republicans votes and pushed people away fromt he Party. So, no Perot did not deliver Cinton's second victory – Clinton's adjustments and the Republican mistakes did.
Black folks are able to (in spite of the constant reminders of slavery, inequality and hatred provided by the Constitution) have the courage to look past race and support a Black president based on his previous contributions to government, fitness for office and the political agenda
WOW! 96% Black voters looked BEYOND race and voted for him anyway? What are the odds?
Of Course in you figure in "past contributions to government", that 18 months of voting "present" is probably what won them over.
You are delusional.
Yes, Perot helped elect Clinton. That effect on the 1992 election was discussed in a previous article (I believe it was on this site). The Perot effect actually emphasizes Thomas' point.
Clinton was elected mostly without the help of the liberal establishment, thereby being free to move to the center and win another term. Obama, however, is completely tied to every last organization which helped elect him- thus making it even worse for him if he tries to move to the center.
The vast majority of whites are not blatantly racist. The vast majority of members of the teaparty are not blatantly racists. So where are the black faces at the teaparty rallies? Why can't you attract minority support? Surely there are minorities who love the Constitution as much as yourself, and worry about budget issues…. but something is stopping them. It's not a mystery. They see the disrespect and vitriol that you attack the president with. They know that you never questioned the legitimacy of a white president. And it is the vocal birthers and others like them who are the face of the movement.
obama is on a course of destruction. your point on senators with no governing experience is exactly why they should never be selected to run for POTUS. of course, there are a few that were governor of a state. three senators were candidates for POTUS in 2008…how in the hell was that supposed to be good for the country?
will obame be clinton? no, he will become his own catastrophic entity equally on terms with a cat 5 hurricane.
Oh if only that were his only sin there Mickey……
Please tell me you are defending Obama because he is Black and thus grudgingly earn the respect (secretly) of all us racists.
But Mickey I do not believe the thrust of this conversation is this man's race but rather his errant politics, hence if that is what you are defending….
Get up against the wall…… Do you have any last words?
Obama's done his part to set up Democrat defeats in 2010 and 2012. Now let's hope that the GOP can catch a clue and not snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
The code words are all about his race. And they are what prevent you from ever having any hope of attracting a minority constituency. And the racist will continue to gravitate to you as they have found a friend in the teaparty.
Get out while the getting is good.
Never is a long time ago…and a long time before you showed up at this site. Questioning and disagreeing is not disrespect.
I respect your right to opinions also mik.
Yet, as I see comments here, you are not attacked and labeled in the same way that you attack and label others. Of course some do, but with you being such a visible and easy target, why don't the majority?
…Moonbat 101
Well, of course you are going to find 'racist hate' in ANYTHING you read if you go in determined to….
sheesh. You could read Mother Theresa's autobiography and come away convinced she is a racist if you so choose….
key word: choose.
Meaning, you come in determined to derive an intent that is NOT what the writer/author had in mind…..but it is in YOUR mind.
And, I am no righty.
Whenever I hear the name, Dick Morris, I feel the need to take a shower.
I look back on when Dole was our best chance and I thought it could never get any worse than this. It only took 12 years to prove that wrong.
Sir, my delusions are completely practical.
Liberals get information everywhere? Yeah everywhere is liberal propaganda 24/7. This is the funniest thing I've read in a long time. Why did liberal radio go under? They stole funds from the boys club, they got government funds and money from billionaires. CNN has fewer viewers in prime time than a Fox news show on at three in the morning.
Give it up.
Conservative radio and television like all conservatives make money the old fashioned way, we earn it. You guys depend on handouts which will be in short supply very soon. Even Soros and his billionaire club can't keep all of you in arugula indefinitely.
You mean like the Black guy beat up by the SEIU thugs? Or the Black man with AR15 at the rally? The MSM carefully edited the picture so you can't tell his race and then called him a angry white racist
"His only sin is he is black?" Of course HE is THE MESSIAH, Infallible and Omniscient (patent pending) Yep got me there. HE hasn't made any mistakes. ROTFLMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's difficult to tell what your politics is because you have no history. You should sign up for an account.
"One difference between the left and right is the right loves to have its political views parroted back to them."
Agreed.
While the right is busy reciting passages from "Mein Kempf" and hating Black people; the left is holding rigorous and thoughtful discussions which allow for the creation of consensus and the inclusion of differing ideas to reach broadly supported conclusions.
While the right is busy repeating the same things over and over ('Obama is a socialist'), the left is intellectually debating conflicting ideas from such a broad ideology base that left leaning media is a veritable online/on air/in print university assuming the much needed task of educating the population.
While Rush is busy not inviting liberals on his show because polls say that his listeners don't want to hear what they have to say (aside: do the polls also say that liberals don't tune in to listen to them either?); MSM/Leftist media say damn polls and bring in 'conservative' guests because they believe in getting opposing views out there and aren't concerned with ratings (even tho rating indisputably show that conservative shows do far far better).
"You watch only f o x news and would never turn on MSNBC"
Ratings indicate that almost no one turns on MSNBC. They get less than a million viewers for almost all their programming. Looks like liberals don't watch either.
"You get all of your climate information from foreign sources because the American research doesn't fit your world view"
If you are referring to 'climate change' in the context of AGW, then 'fit' is an apt term when referring to the research, for a science that is on the verge of going the way of the flat-earth theory.
You are just not paying attention. It is easy to read what I say on these blogs, but far more time consuming to see what I'm responding to. I prefer not to make it personal, but politics is personal. It took me a month to stop calling the party members teaba@@@rs… but I promised I wouldn't use that word again and I never will.
I must respectfully demur. Even though Dole was an awful candidate and the outrage over Gingrich's not to be believed hypocrisy trying to conceal his own affair while criticizing Clinton, without Perot in the mix, I believe Dole would have made a far better showing, especially if the leadership got behind him.
The problem in my opinion is that the Republican leadership then and now prefers the "Go along to Get along" model rather obtaining and using real power to restore our country to the representative democracy free market country we all know and love.
It’s crucial now that this kind of GOP leadership is ousted along with the socialists.
Now the Dems are jumping ship! What happened this summer when there were town meetings? They turned a deaf ear to what the people were saying! They maligned the people calling them domestic terrorists; They thought they had a mandate to fundamentally change the capitalist system of the United States, and when the American people got wise to their agenda, they rebelled and opposed everything that came out of Washington. The liberal and blue dog dems were caught in the middle and when Scott Brown rode into the Senate in his pick up truck, they knew it was time to jump ship…The GOP has an opportunity to change the dynamics of the deadlock in Congress, by putting up people for election in 2010 with the values; and political conservative agenda that the people want. Cutting taxes, rein in fiscal spending; pay off our debt and get back to basics…if they do that, then the people will support them, if they get back into complacency and the status quo, they will lose what they have achieved. We have a chance to return our country to the values we hold dear….
"But, he's a good, charismatic speaker, so he gets elected…"
because getting elected has become the same as getting on American Idol, except there was no "Simon" in the MSM to point out the flaws in the act, and I do mean act. Now that everyone knows what obnoxious ass he is we can "vote him off the island"
Liberal radio is alive and well. I listen to Stephanie Miller everyday, and you will still find Bill Press, Ed Schultz, Rachel Maddow and Thom Hartmann on the radio and internet streaming everyday. I do miss Ron Reagan. He was an exclusive employee of Air America, but I expect he will be back on the air soon.
I never give up.
Pretty sad when every black in your movement is famous. It only makes my point.
Yes. "vote him off the island" !
K – ya beat me to it. Blacks are ostracized for speaking out, so like conservatives in liberal enclaves, they keep their opinions to themselves.
Nice try mika, but 96% of black voters didn't vote for Obama.
I really don't give a rats behind what color he is, nor do I care what color Bush, Clinton, etc… are. I observe that others DO give value to that! Such as Mik…
Voting FOR him because of skin color is a form of racism.
A world where protesters of NObama's administration are labeled racist is a world where racism still lingers. At least its used as a tool to defame others.
"Voting FOR him because of skin color is a form of racism."
Agreed
Code words? LOL
Do a little research. There were minorities at the Tea Partys. There are minorities on the website.
Speaking for myself… I read and post here because I agree with the message, the direction, the belief, and the POLITICS here.
I like discussing opposing views too. I just don't like being called a racist by someone who doesn't know me. Like you, its the Democraps and lefties that use the racist card against others. I understand and accept that's the only tool you have.
Mik,
Can I have some of what you've been smoking?
I'm no fan of Bush, but NObama shares more in common with Hitler than anyone else. Sorry to 'P' on your parade…
You say "Obama's only sin is he happens to be black."… wow. sounds like you have an issue with his skin color to me.
Please share with me some photos of the "Nazi" symbols you claim the tea party used. I'm sure I can find some photos of Panthers intimidating voters…
I've never called you a racist. I said you are the member of a racist organization.
I'm not playing any cards on the teaparty… I'm calling them out.
"Well, this polemic exposes that lie."
Sir, you have again misinterpreted my intentions. And, this was no 'polemic'.
My argument in this case is not of the ideology of left versus right. You have chosen that argument. Not I.
In relation to media, what you took as a 'polemic' (which again, was your intention, or choice….you read my post fully ready to shape it thru a right vs left lens) was actually a commentary on RATINGS. On the market of media. On the fact that television media is driven by ratings. They tend to put on more of what the ratings dictate. That is how they make money, isn't it?
And, quite possibly people look outside the US climate change science research….because many scientists outside it are begging to come forth and say they made errors in the science.
US scientists who advocate AGW are not allowing for any discussion which contradicts their findings. When the rest of the world is allowing discussion on this, why wouldn't one seek it out?
Read some of my previous posts.
You will see I am no right winger.
Why would one limit their intellect by taking one side for all issues?
Why would you do that?
I've plenty of history.
And, why would my opinions on other topics that might not directly relate to this one allow you to determine my politics? Life is not simply left vs right.

Don't look for Slick to jump in to help Obozo. A rapidly aging unelected Hillary would have his testes in a jar.
Obama has nothing in common with Hitler, which leads us to believe there is something else going on here, and from the racial makeup of the teaparty, it looks like racism. I don't expect any of you to admit you belong to a racist organization, but this is how the rest of us see you.
Google "tea party nazi posters" and click on images. There are a lot of them on youtube also.
This next fall may be rather interesting as well. I'd not be at all surprised to see SEIU, ACORN, and Black Panther thugs out in full force.
I make no bets, but keep your powder dry and hope you don't need it.
So everyone else in the Tea Party organization is a racist then? Please clarify.
FYI… I'm not a member of the Tea Party… YET. I do agree with everything they stand for. I am a Libertarian.
I just re-read your posts… I think you're doing more than just calling out the racist cards. You are making a lot of racial claims against the Tea Party… just sayin.
Rahmbo is still one nasty Leftist though. He may have a few clues, but he's just another manipulator looking for his own interests and no one else.
Of course that's fairly typical of Libs these days. Which is why they will fail in the long haul.
Way to change the goal posts. That isn't every black, of course. But if it was true that means every black (100%) in the movement has been beaten or racially stereotyped and marginalized by Democrats. You should be proud. Of course Democrat racism goes back to before the civil war.
Nope, sorry. Didn't get anything… here's my search.

NObama has taken over industry, like Hitler. Unlike Bush.
NObama has taken over Banks, like Hitler. Unlike Bush.
NObama has initiated a socialist youth movement, like Hitler. Unlike Bush.
NObama dislike's the Jews, like hitler. Unlike Bush.
NObama is circumventing our constitution, like Hitler circumvented the German laws at the time. Yes, similar to Bush.
I think that's enough for now. This is my opinion and how I see things. I'm no Bush fan either, so don't think I'm defending him. I'm also not calling NObama a Hitler. Just comparing actions of both.
Did some more searching on Google. Got it to work.
I see two posters comparing ObamaCare to ObamaFascism and calling him a liar (I don't get why they needed that symbol on that one).
A lot LESS than you would make us believe. One, or two, wackos doesn't define the whole!
If you want to debate real American climate scientists you can go out to realclimate.org and involve yourself in some very technical discussions about climate issues. They are very patient and will respond directly to you if you ask a meaningful question they haven't seen a thousand times before. So do some homework first.
I just brought it up in response to "I am no righty". None of us fit neatly into the little boxes we like to place each other in, but it helps to know someone's agenda before you try and debate an issue.
For example, if you tell me that you oppose wind power because it will kill the birds, it saves me a lot of time if I know you believe AGW to be a hoax and your agenda is to kill public funding for scientific research. Then I won't bother helping you find information on the environmental studies concerning wind power.
