The Official Unraveling of the Obama Presidency
by Thomas Del BeccaroIt can be no secret by now that President Obama did not have a signature achievement his first year in office. Of all his major initiatives, health care, cap and trade, civilian trials for terrorists and the “stimulus” bill – only the so-called stimulus bill was enacted. Hardly a success, as more Americans than not know what Paul Krugman and E.J. Dionne do not – that it was a bad idea. Worse for the Democrats — none of those efforts have produced a greater consensus or momentum for them or Obama. To the contrary, the Democrats lost key races in 2009, a Democrat House Member defected to the Republicans, the nation is more divided than ever and the Democrat Party is in disarray — as in the Obama presidency.
Not to be out-done by 2009, in 2010, the Obama presidency has endured:
(1) the loss of the Kennedy seat (which is how the Democrats view that race) even though Obama stumped for the Democrats’ candidate;
(2) Obama’s deficit commission was shot down;
(3) The unions are warning the Democrats that they are “going to have a hard time getting members out to vote”;
(4) Democrats are slowly signing onto a bill to defeat Obama’s civilian trial for terrorists,
(5) Obama’s TSA nomination died before a vote;
(6) Obama’s NLRB nomination died after a vote;
(7) Nancy Pelosi is openly criticizing Obama’s plans for a job bill;
(8) Some Democrats are openly worrying about the political effect of the expiration of the Bush tax cuts;
(9) the left, in general, is openly criticizing Obama on a host of issues from the wars to his comments on Wall Street bonuses.
In other words, far from standing with Obama, Democrats have no fear of Obama anymore and all of that is playing almost daily in the nation’s newspapers, TV and the internet. Obama’s troubles are coming far too fast for even the mainstream media to ignore. Highlighting all of those problems is the fact that Obama’s poll numbers have reached new lows.
As bad as that anti-momentum is (and I use the word “anti-momentum” because Republicans still need to positively turn this to their favor with a “Republican Plan for America’s Renewal”), Obama’s troubles are going to get worse – much worse.
Obama is now open to tax increases on the middle class (”agnostic” is the word he used). Anyone with a memory of longer than 15 years can tell you how successful Bill Clinton was in his first midterm elections after breaking his promise of a middle class tax cut or at least 54 lost House seats and the Speakership well remember.
Amidst so much Democrat blood in the water, it is no wonder Congressional Democrats are distancing themselves from Obama. If Obama pushes that middle class tax hike, rather than backing away from Obama, they will turn and run and the Obama Presidency will have officially unraveled.

How is it possible that in a free country like America which used to be guided by the U.S. Constitution as the Supreme Law of the Land can there be this genuine phenomena of a mysterious power controlling the body politic and the main stream media by blocking any discussion of ARTICLE 2 SECTION 1 for which Obama is in violation of! The one thing the Obama admin. did not count on…The silent majority. I am so proud of what "We The People" have accomplished and the promise that the future still holds. A year ago, my hope stood on the edge of a knife, but I can see the change in our country. We have a two houses and the senate to flip before we can even begin to breathe easy.

I hope someone soon covers the real failure of this administration. The President and the Congress are working together to let the Bush tax cuts expire at the end of this year. These are not "tax cuts for the rich". These are across-the-board tax cuts, and letting them expire will raise taxes on everyone. I have not been able to discern that there is anything being worked on to extend these cuts. No one is asking any questions; it seems that the cuts are just going to expire and we'll all be worse off on January 1.
You are so right, I am regaining my faith and hope in the American people. When awakened we are the most amazing people ever, we have that Yankee, can do spirit, and it has been unleashed. Now we just have to stay vigilent and throw out all the progressives, return to our roots, remember we were the pioneers for goodness sake! We can do this!
One of the larger challenges of business is to re-educate new hires into how the real world works. What a shock for graduates at all levels! Unfortunately the USA has "hired" a President who really has no idea of how the real world works. Great! We have a new hire with no experience, getting OJT and no one to mentor him! Can he learn? If the last year is any indication the answer is NO!
We need to prevent this assclown from doing damage. We can't stop everything, but we have to keep up the pressure on him and the idiot libs in Congress.
I'm glad to see his presidency imploding. The worry is his administration is so clueless and weak, real risks like Iran and terrorists are going to make strides in the next three years.
A year ago I thought we were doomed. The far left had the media, the presidency, Congress and it seemed, the American people. Man, was I wrong on the American people. The people are taking back their country, are going to retire much of Congress, and the media no longer is relevant. We now get our news elsewhere. America is awake, I am so proud!

The Democrats want to preserve the tax cuts for the middle class, but Republicans would rather have the political point and have refused to negotiate without a guarantee of tax cuts for the rich. A bad strategy that will fail. Obama and the senate will use reconciliation and use the same 51 vote strategy in the senate to extend middle class tax cuts that Bust used to pass tax cuts for the rich.

We are still a divided country, as we have been for 10 years. Obama's impressive victory made it look like things had shifted some, but that was due mostly to the incompetence of George W. Bush.
If you look at the polls, Americans are not excited about the Republicans either… you are in the unfortunate position of having to hope the economic recovery doesn't heat up until after the next election. If it does you will lose again, or at least not win enough seats in congress to regain control.
Lest we forget, Obama did not become the candidate of the "Democratic" Party without the hierarchy in the DNC AND the Congress of the USA knowing all that was needed of his past history. He is not alone in this refusal to alleviate the unease about his provenance. And what does that mean in the short and long term for the political system of the USA as based on two major political parties? And what does this mean for those persons who sit in Congress and are, in accepting the seat , bound by oath to UPHOLD the US Constitution., as it stands, whatever they think about its "defectiveness".
I'm thinking that it may just be best for National Security that we start having urinalysis testing done on some of our officials. You lie. The Democrats had super-majorities of both houses of Congress for a full year. At no time did they introduce any bill, or amendment to any bill, calling for the extension of the Bush tax cuts. They didn't NEED Republicans to do it; they could have passed it without any trouble. Using the "Republicans blocked us" argument no longer works, so you might as well drop that from your talking points. The Democrats ARE going to let them expire, and when they use that excuse, like you just did, they will be laughed out of office.

Obama was born in Hawaii to an American mother and a British father. By American tradition, he is a natural born citizen. And he would still be a natural born citizen even it both parents were British. Because he was born on American soil.
Constitutionally speaking, John McCain's birth status was a bigger issue than Obama's. But still not one that right-thinking Americans should quibble over.
Once a president is sworn into office, the only way to remove him is by impeachment. And the birth status of Obama's parents does not constitute a high crime or misdemeanor. Besides, the Republicans will never own the 2/3rds of the votes in the senate necessary for a conviction. Remember the Clinton fiasco. Politically speaking you don't want to attack unless you have the troops, and they didn't even come close to ousting Clinton. It only made him stronger.

The last generic poll I saw was just a couple of points difference. And the Republicans in the congress were trusted less on every issue except national defense. Oh yes I remember this well. Clinton did the biggest tax hike in history, his first hundred days in office. What saved his a** and gave him a second term, under the advisement of Dick Morris, was to cut capital gains taxes significantly. Tenth Amendment reinforcement at the state level is becoming an act of reality which will further encapsulate and constrain the Obama administration as he is too ideologic to due the type of flexion required to maintain political viability. Of course, he could change his mind at any time, but he wont. I wont hold my breath either.
He can resign…………PLEASE…………actually, no………let him single handedly destroy his party and the progressive movement in this country once and for all.

Your personal prejudices aside as well. Fear of taxes? They will be raised or not be raised, but the Bush Tax cuts are going to expire, so taxes will then go up. Do you suspect that the Democrats will renew the tax cuts?
