Jerry Brown: Doing His Best to Kill Voter ID in California
by Thomas Del BeccaroDo you believe voter fraud is a serious issue in the United States today?

I assure you Jerry Brown – the California Attorney General – does not.
Do the videos of ACORN exposed by BigGovernment.com concern you? How about facts like these:
In Washington state’s disputed 2004 governor’s race, which was won by 129 votes, the election superintendent in Seattle testified in state court that ineligible felons had voted and votes had been cast in the name of the dead. In Milwaukee, Wis., investigators found that, in the state’s close 2004 presidential election, more than 200 felons voted illegally and more than 100 people voted twice. In Florida, where the entire 2000 presidential election was decided by 547 votes, almost 65,000 dead people are still listed on the voter rolls–an engraved invitation to fraud. A New York Daily News investigation in 2006 found that between 400 and 1,000 voters registered in Florida and New York City had voted twice in at least one recent election.
Does voter fraud like that concern you?
It doesn’t concern Jerry Brown. How do I know? It’s really quite simple.
Senator George Runner of California submitted a simple and straight forward Voter ID initiative which, in part, requires that California citizens show a government ID before they vote. Senator Runner fashioned his initiative on voter identification requirements upheld by the US Supreme Court. In other words, Runner’s initiative is consistent with the law of the land.
Also, keep in mind, as John Fund of the Wall Street Journal points out – time and again- “members of a bipartisan federal commission headed by former President Jimmy Carter and former Secretary of State James Baker came out in support of photo ID requirements . . . [in part because] . . . Voters in nearly 100 democracies use a photo identification card without fear of infringement on their rights.”
When faced with a similar Voter ID Initiative, in 2005, then California Attorney General Lockyer provided the following title and summary for the initiative:
“VOTER IDENTIFICATION REQUIREMENT. INITIATIVE STATUTE. Requires that voters present one of four types of picture ID before voting.”
Why did Lockyer do that? Because Attorney Generals are required by California law to clearly and truthfully state the “chief, purposes, and points” of such initiatives.
But all of that doesn’t matter at all to Jerry Brown. For his part, Brown summarized the Runner Vote ID initiative as:
LIMITS ON VOTING. INITIATIVE STATUTE. Prohibits citizens from voting at the polls, unless they present a government-issued photo identification card. Establishes provisional voting for citizens at the polls who fail to present government issued photo-identification card.
Why did Brown do it that way? According to Brown’s office:
“Sen. Runner fails to acknowledge the troubled history of voting in our country where some have erected discriminatory barriers including poll taxes, literary tests and requirements that one own property in order to vote. Sen. Runner justifies his new restrictions based on claims of widespread fraud, but empirical evidence is to the contrary; such cases are extraordinarily rare…These restrictions are all new, and they derive from Sen. Runner and his partisan allies…”
And you thought ACORN was the problem?
Well, Jerry Brown is part of the problem as well – which is why Senator Runner filed a lawsuit, on October 14, 2009, against Brown for his “unfair, partial, argumentative, confusing, and misleading” Ballot Title and Summary.
Oh, and perhaps the best/scariest part? Jerry Brown wants to be Governor of California again. I am sure that ACORN cannot wait for that possibility.

Poor Governor Moonbeam.
Let US all face it, what WE are up against, is Institutional Corruption at its finest. It is enrenched. Anything to upset, and disturb the status quo is quickly cast aside. If there is one thing that the Political Animal craves, it is easy votes. Aiding and abetting, guarding and protecting illegalities is the status quo. Politicians maintain the old "you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours" attitude.
California has a unique set of problems. It will take someone other than a career politician to solve them.
Remember the great photo of Jerry Brown and his political ally the Rev Jim Jones from over thirty years ago.
Why we should trust him after that I don't know.
I love how they constantly dig up "America's troubled past" and never acknowledge that ID's are a little more commonplace than in 1875. So much for "progressive". Progress only matters when its tearing down some traditional American institution like family.
Elections will be won by ACORN and SEIU unless the law is upheld for Voter ID and only one vote for each qualified citizen voter.
Voter IDs in Georgia were struck down by Attorney General Holder. I think Holder will strike them down in all "57" states.
I have and will always support voter ID. It's the best way to ensure that only citizens are allowed to vote and that they are only permitted to vote once. Any who desire to leave the system vulnerable to fraud must believe it provides them with an advantage and do so only for selfish reasons.

This is crap!!! If you are not a legal citizen in this country, you cannot vote, period! if you are dead you obviously cannot vote, period! You cannot vote twice, period! Rules have to be established and followed otherwise the corruption, like a cancer continues to spread. What are they afraid of?? If people are voting legally there should be no problem presenting a valid ID at the polls. Why do the rules affecting so many have to be changed to appease so few??
Republicans need to take voter fraud and voter identification seriously because they can't keep trying to win against a handicap of 5% (or even more) of the vote.
This makes perfect sense…..Califonification — the state that has the most undocumented workers and illegal aliens……and those that show up early bused in from other states to vote in California, and those college students who also are from other states…..along with the dead registered voters that get a vote…..all can now vote early and vote often….right??
who will check their id's??? no-one… who will check if they have voted more than once?? no-one… who will check to see if they are in the right district?? no-one……just vote, vote, vote, vote and vote again…….as much as your little hear desires……..
California should be used as collateral as re-payment for our current US debt to China…..let China have California, they are a bunch of bankrupt blowhards. And if they want to go communists, who better than China to manage their people and economy. Lower wages, smaller houses, smaller cars, everyone makes the same wage….and oh yes…..they will have to close those marijane stores….hahahaha
Anything suggested by Pres. Carter is suspect but until someone takes voting procedures
seriously we are heading for third world status, if we are not already there. All election results are now suspect and it will only get worse now that the Dems have come out against any fix that matters and challenge any results that don't favor them. Yes to voter ID.
Let's see, You need a drivers license to drive a car. You need a Social Security number to file your taxes. You need a passport to cross the border. You need a valid address on your checks (and normally a drivers license number as well). All of these are common, everyday forms of acceptable ID, used in daily commerce, in the ordinary everyday course of living.
Why then, is this not required for the most precious of American priviledges, the VOTE?
Sub-standard, sub-human "Community Organizers" have created full time jobs for themselves; rousing rabble and herding humans who are comparable to barn yard animals in their IQ's and cognitive abilities and social coping skills. They have in fact utilized the Cloward-Piven Strategy to its fullest extent.
The whole matter has gotten completely out of hand. Quite frankly, they should roll things back to pre-1964 and institute a poll tax and a poll test. If a person can't name all 57 States, they shouldn't be allowed to vote…….
I agree girl…….Let China have Cal…..would save the US a hell of a lot of interest payments on debt we can't afford anyway….if they want to be socialists/communists….I say — let California go girl. won't be missed….
I agree……you are on the right track….but, I also come from the old school and feel you must prove you own some property, even if it's a modest amount…otherwise, you have no proof you can create value for others or any evidence of productivity in the community they want to organize against those that produce.

Note To Editor: The "Voter ID initiative" link is screwed up, should be this one, however even though the bulk of the info presented here comes from the second news article posted I cannot find the Jerry Brown reply there.
As we approach the 31st anniversary of the massacre in Jonestown, it is worth exploring all of Rev Jim's supporters such as Gov Jerry Brown, Willie Brown, Mayor Moscone, Harvey Milk, Rosylin Carter and a photo with Walter Mondale. They and more hardcore leftists had good feelings about "progressive community organizer" Jim Jones.
I am a victim of vote fraud. Due to the illegal activities of the Democraps, I am now "represented" by a stand-up comic (Smalley-Franken) instead of a stand-up guy (Coleman). America is the big loser when cheaters cheat.
Corrupticans rule right now, and like all criminal conspiracies they will not go down without a fight, and I would say CA is on the leading edge of becoming a barbary coast type organization because of that.
I expect it get extremely vicious in the next election cycle no matter where you live, people need to be prepared to be intimidated and outright threatened in some states and districts, and B-Daddy won't do anything about it, hell he will probably be behind 6 degree's of seperation running it.
As far as ID with the current crop of crooks I agree it will never happen because it is one of the three legs of the corruptican platform that they fall back on when handouts and fear mongering stop working.
I think it has to be eliminated but without a very big scandal I dont think it will happen anytime soon.
J & H how about a new video series, hmmm?
If ID is required, Jerry will never win an election again.
Cowboy Logic;
Please don't forget Attorney General Eric Holder who forbid I believe one southern state from cleaning up thier voter registration rolls (eleminating dead people etc.) as this was discrimination. This must be the FIRST agenda of a GOP administration that we have clean and honest voting. Of course Dems will fight this tooth and nail (Dems would put voting machines in Mexico if they could get away with it). Keep up the good fight, People still support the Dems & Obama because they are totally ignorant of what they are or are just as evil as thhe Dems. Keep spreading the word, don't give up the fight. We MUSTget our Country back. Thank you for your intellegent comments.
From here comes what is most astonishing to me about Kalifornia voting, which sounds completely absurd.
"Voter fraud is as easy as going up to a polling place 30 minutes before it closes and looking at the list of people who haven't voted posted on the outside of the polling place," Runner said. "Then walking into the polling place and giving the name and address of someone who has not yet voted."
Say What?! Look, I am in Pennsylvania. Voting is personal, private, that info is kept inside and safe with the election workers. In Kalifornia they POST that info for anyone to see?
YES to voter IDs – as Cowboy stated you need ID's for just about everything in daily life. In CT we are required to show a photo ID – I normally would use my drivers license but I look nothing like the photo. So I use my state permit to carry pistols & revolvers card – Yup that's the real me.
I urge everyone to read the link Tone Loc posted and scroll down to the Jonestown peice.
It is a grossly under reported history of how the Democrat politicans and the media in the Northern California and beyond went out of their way to cover for Christian hating, Marxist Jim Jones for petty political gain.
The only local politican and media people who dared to question and investigate Jones were attacked and some killed.
The one early investigative journalist of Jim Jones was Les Kinsolving who is currently keeping Robert Gibbs honest in White House Press conferences. Kinsolving wrote the first expose on the Temple in1972 and the series was shut down due to legal and political pressure from Jones.
The two leftist lawyers for the Temple, Charles Garry (famous Black Panther lawyer) and Mark Lane (leftist lawyer and author) talked their way out of Jonestown the day of the massacre and fled in to the jungle while hundreds of mostly black children were being killed. Jones who was hailed as a civil rights hero and progressive community organizer murdered more African-Americans than those lynched in the south during 20th century.
Come on California you can get rid of these crazies.
They should require voter ID – if you need to show ID to get into a bar so the owner isnt fined, why not at the voting booth? In fact, perhaps a law that personally fines harshly any poll worker or counter who commits fraud or allows for fraudulent votes to go in, in additional to jail time, then okay skip the ID. But I bet with a law like that they would be screaming for ID. In fact I feel the voting age should be raised to 21, unless you are in the military or employed paying taxes.
"Do you believe voter fraud is a serious issue in the United States today?"
Yes. But there IS a reason I pulled the rip cord and bailed out of the Golden State. False gold. Fake wealth. Failed government.
Fraud? Tip of the iceberg baby!
Meanwhile across the pond it was recently revealed that the Labour party used mass Muslim immigration to secure their positions:
The huge increases in migrants over the last decade were partly due to a politically motivated attempt by ministers to radically change the country and "rub the Right's nose in diversity", according to Andrew Neather, a former adviser to Tony Blair, Jack Straw and David Blunkett.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/politi...
Importing needy dependent voters to secure their position has been going on for a decade with the left across Europe. American lefties in border states are just working that angle with the cards they are dealt here. Socialists whether there or here trash civil societies to the core.
I have to show photo ID before I can buy "Nicorette Gum" to help me stop smoking…and I am 68 years old. Why should an illegal dead guy get to vote with out it? Unreal!!!
[...] | Leave a Comment If you want to vote, vote once and know your vote is counted as one. Fraud has become pervasive and it must end. On one side are those who claim photo IDs will block some voters from casting ballots, but offer [...]
How can an illegal get a voter id????
Maybe Jerry figures he'll need those same illegal votes that stole the election for Loretta Sanchez a few years ago.
Congressmen and Senators demanded ID to get into their Town Meetings. We must demand ID if they want votes casted for them. Fair is Fair.
Hey, Hey, Hey….there are some of us out here in California who are fighting the good fight, holding our Tea Parties and gearing up for next year. You may see a couple new initiatives on the ballot out here that would lead the way for the rest of the country's conseratives (I pray!).
Mexifornia. thanks to Jerry Brown. The governor whom dismantled the embracadero program. Basically we can thank Brown for the severe over population, and all the free for all's that illegals have enjoyed. Jobs & industry not welfare.
Me too. I ahve the added pleasure of being represented by Keith "Hakkim B" Ellison–also courtesy of the entrenched DFL culture.
Striking down Voter ID rules benefits one party, and one party alone–the Democrats. If they're so worried about legitimate voters beings disenfranchized because they can't afford drivers licenses or whatever the excuse is, then why don't they mount a campaign to help get those voters ID cards? Why instead are all their efforts directed at getting rid of voter IDs altogether? Gosh, don't we all just wonder?
Thus we come to the true "undue burden," having to spend the cash for a good counterfeit photo ID.
With the surge in blackmarket demand, ACORN's "get out the vote" costs are going up twenty-fold, at least.
Only citizen gun owners should be allowed to vote. The weenies that don't exercise all of their constitutional rights can stay home and take what they get.
If it's brown, flush it!
Jerry Brown the California nut case that needs to be arrested for failing to do his job properly! Talk about a state filled with corruption! every where you look California is corrupted by the Gays, the lesbos, the teachers unions, the workers unions, the illegal immgrants union, the state judges who think they can over rule the vote of the people and the people who live there and let them! Jery Brown is just another of the spine less mushed brain idiots that pass for leaders in California. They may was well make drugs legal in CA because they are on them anyways. Jerry neds to be impeached simply because he doesn't have any intension of enforcing CA laws or US laws which he took an oath to up hold. Impeach him and then investigate him. How much illegal campiagn funds do you think he took from ACORN to look the other way? Wake Up America! no bail out help ofr CA until they clean house and make real cuts to the state budget. That would be to teachers unions, state employee unions, save the whale funding, save the sea otter funding and dozens of other worthless project that are just there to line peoples pockets at your expense! Wake Up America! Wake Up!
How is NJ going to veriry these votes – How?
http://www.nj.com/news/index.ssf/2009/11/thousand...
Easy … They will send it to you
http://www.nj.com/news/index.ssf/2009/11/thousand...
But the Libs insist you have a few I.D.s when you buy a gun
I'm from CA and voted a number of times here and I've NEVER seen that. The list is in the hands of the election workers. If that did occur in CA it might just be at one particular site. Again, NEVER saw that.
This does not mean I am against Voter ID. I can't understand why we wouldn't have it. Lots of libs like to point out the low number of cases of voter fraud as a reason not to do it, but that makes no sense. The fraud should be ZERO, shouldn't it?
Once again more proof that Jerry Brown is a tool bag!
I only know california uber allies, and i really like that song, do they have any other good songs?
That's exactly the election I always think of. Dornan even had evidence of Dem voter fraud, but the top Repubs wouldn't back him on challenging. It really is sickening. Will anything or anyone ever be able to turn this once great state back to sanity. No, we can't leave. All our children are here
The main excuse to not require voter ID is that old people do not have ID….My 96 year old Aunt had a non-drivers license issued from the DMV….She was born in the early 1900's and was born in another country and was an immigrant (legal)…how can you even rent a video or cash a check ….or even open a savings account w/o ID??????????? I am 100% for voter ID's required!!!!!!!!!!
Grandmas-mad – I am with you and a lot of others on this post. You can't open a checking account at a bank without ID. You can't write a check for a point of sale purchase without ID. When I moved back to FLA (3 years ago), I needed my NC drivers license, my birth certificate and my social security card to get a FLA driver's license. My ID (driver's license) is checked every time I vote. And, my name is then checked off the voter roll, before I am handed a ballot.
Why is this so hard? With all of the private information that is now actually public information, how are dead people voting? How does that happen? I would wager a guess that if the Social Security Administration continues to send out benefit checks to dead citizens, then those same dead citizens must be able to vote! What a crock this whole debacle is. So you mean to tell me that "the government" in all it's wisdom can fix healthcare, but cannot stop dead citizens from receiving Social Security checks and voting. I am shocked!
Again, why is this so hard? The left hand does not know what the right hand is doing. The more one compartmentalizes, the greater the risk for error.
In FLA, my driver's license is my voter ID. I registered to vote at the same time and place I applied for my driver's license. Based on the ID I had to provide to obtain my FLA driver's license, I have no problem with that. BUT, at some point, in my state, the issue of "dead" people voting has to be addressed.
Why is it that in Connecticut, when I know the voting official, I still have to show an ID but in California it acceptable for ILLEGAL people to vote. Easy law- show an ID that shows residency, get to vote in local elections. College students should vote in their home of record, not where they are going to school When I was in the active military. I could NOT vote in the local elections , unless I switched my home of record. Why should punk college students, who do not live in the voting district full time, be given full voting rights
?
No voter ID required in California? Gee, what a surprise! The state that is represented by a bunch of whacko liberals, like boxer, feinstein, pelosi, sherman, waxman, waters, guitierrez, etc. etc., etc.! Why would any HONEST politician be opposed to voter id? It's simple THEY'RE NOT HONEST! The people that would cast ILLEGAL votes because they did not require ID are the same people that vote for the LIBERAL LEFT LOONS that continue to get elected and screw the hardworking HONEST TAXPAYING VOTERS of California. Voters in California unite, and DEMAND a referendum that REQUIRES VOTER IDENTIFICATION! If you can't have HONEST elections, our democracy will be threatened! There is no room in a democracy for VOTER FRAUD! Just ask the people in Zimbabwe, Iran, and Venezuela if you need any more proof!
These people are traitors. Every one took a solemn oath to support and defend the Constitution – and every one of them violate it daily.
Every one of them deserve to suffer the proper legal penalty for treason – after a due trial of course.
We're going to need a bigger gallows…
DD
Brown doesn't want to see voter ID become the law. It will be much more difficult for Democrats to be elected if only citizens can vote. Whoever votes for this clown as Governor is voting for more corruption, inefficiency and fiscal irresponsibility. And, it is my understanding that the Supreme Court authorized voter ID as being constitutional. What gives Brown the audacity to contravene that?
Where did you get this theme from? It’s pretty clean and nice
You right wing folks are about 50 years behind time. You better work from within to get up to speed…………………….or just go away – you're boring.
[...] Jerry Brown: Doing His Best to Kill Voter ID In California [...]
I'm a Democrat in California in a city where voter fraud was paid for by developers. The residents brought a referendum to the ballot to stop a massive overdevelopment, but were outspent and out-maneuvered by greedy developers – even with hundreds of documented instances of voter fraud, neither the city attorney nor anyone else would help us get a fair election. WE WANT VOTERS TO SHOW PHOTO IDENTIFICATION!
