Code Pink Democrats Aid and Abet Terrorists, Obama and the Democrat Party

House Majority Whip Rep. James Clyburn (SC) recently accused Republicans of “aiding and abetting terrorism” because of their support for the Tea Party movement. With all due respect, Rep. Clyburn needs to clean out his own party first before he has standing to say anything on the subject.
Top Democrat Party activists Jodie Evans and Medea Benjamin, through their group Code Pink, have spent the past eight years terrorizing soldiers, their families and public officials on the homefront while working with terrorists and state sponsors of terrorism abroad. Rather than being condemned and disowned, Code Pink is embraced by President Barack Obama and leading Democrats while being celebrated by the media.
The Code Pink Democrats have harassed wounded soldiers and their families at military hospitals in Washington, D.C. and San Diego; they have repeatedly targeted military recruiting centers for abuse; they cruelly taunted the children of military families at a White House Halloween party; they have terrorized government officials at their homes and they have led a campaign for the kidnapping of former President Bush and his wife Laura (for this they enlisted the support of the Muslim Brotherhood).
Abroad, the Code Pink Democrats have worked with state sponsors of terrorism including the governments of Saddam Hussein, Cuba’s Castro brothers, Iran’s Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Syria’s Bashar Assad as well as the anti-American governments of Venezuela’s Hugo Chavez, Nicaragua’s Daniel Ortega and Bolivia’s Evo Morales.
In December 2008, the Code Pink Democrats led a shoe throwing protest in front of the White House to celebrate an incident in Baghdad when an Iraqi “journalist” threw his shoes at President George W. Bush. This encouragement of violence against Bush was a propaganda bouquet by the Code Pink Democrats to their terrorist allies aroud the world.
These Code Pink Democrats have also worked with terrorists including Hamas, Hezbollah, the Taliban, Sunni terrorists in Iraq and the father of Islamic terrorism: the Muslim Brotherhood. The Code Pink Democrats have bragged about giving cash and humanitarian aid to terrorists who target Americans, Israelis and free Iraqis.
The Code Pink Democrats publicly endorsed the terrorists in Iraq in 2005 at the World Tribunal on Iraq.
“There is widespread opposition to the occupation. Political, social, and civil resistance through peaceful means is subjected to repression by the occupying forces. It is the occupation and its brutality that has provoked a strong armed resistance and certain acts of desperation. By the principles embodied in the UN Charter and in international law, the popular national resistance to the occupation is legitimate and justified. It deserves the support of people everywhere who care for justice and freedom.”
Jodie Evans also gave her personal endorsement of the terrorists killing our soldiers:
”We must begin by really standing with the Iraqi people and defending their right to resist. I can remain myself against all forms of violence, and yet I cannot judge what someone has to do when pushed to the wall to protect all they love. The Iraqi people are fighting for their country, to protect their families and to preserve all they love. They are fighting for their lives, and we are fighting for lies.” (AlterNet, June 26, 2005)
While the Democrat Party complains about Republicans saying things like “You lie!” and “Baby killer!” on the House floor, at least the Republicans have the courage to speak for themselves. Democrats have given special Congressional access to members of the Code Pink Democrats so they could disrupt President Bush’s second inaugural address, a speech to Congress by Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al Maliki and assault Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.

Code Pink Democrat co-founder Jodie Evans was tapped by Barack Obama at the beginning of his presidential campaign in February 2007 to co-host his breakthrough Hollywood fundraiser. Just weeks before, Evans and the Code Pink Democrats were in Cuba working with the Castro government to put pressure on the United States to free the al Qaeda detainees held at Guantanamo.
Jodie Evans served as a fundraising bundler for Obama’s presidential campaign. She donated the maximum money to Obama’s primary and general election campaigns. She also donated thousands of dollars to the Obama Victory Fund, a joint vehicle by Obama and the Democrat party.
Jodie Evans and Medea Benjamin serve on the board of the Progressive Democrats of America. Serving alongside Evans and Benjamin on PDA’s board are elected Democrats: House Judiciary Committee Chairman Rep. John Conyers (MI); Rep. Donna Edwards (MD); Rep. Raul Grijalva (AZ); Rep. Barbara Lee (CA); Rep. Jim McGovern (MA) and Rep. Lynn Woolsey (CA). Rep. Maxine Waters (CA) is listed as part of the PDA Emeritus Board for having served on the board between 2005-2009.
When the Code Pink Democrats delivered $650,000 in cash and humanitarian aid to what Benjamin called “the other side” in Fallujah in late December 2004 as the Marines were clearing al Qaeda out of the Iraqi city, they carried with them letters of support from Democrats Sen. Barbara Boxer (CA); Rep. Henry Waxman (CA) Rep. Dennis Kucinich (OH) and Rep. Raul Grijalva (AZ).
Five years later, in December 2009, the Code Pink Democrats delivered thousands of dollars in “humanitarian aid” to Hamas-controlled Gaza supported by letters from Democrats Sen. John Kerry (MA) and Rep. Andre Carson. Hamas guaranteed the Code Pink Democrat’s safety during their trip to Gaza.
The Code Pink Democrats also worked with the late Democrat Rep. John Murtha (PA), awarding him their “Pink Badge of Courage.” Murtha, in turn, shielded the Code Pink Democrats from arrest by Capitol Police.
Barack Obama has ignored several appeals by veterans and military families to disavow Jodie Evans and the Code Pink Democrats. Instead, he gave Jodie Evans a photo-op for her to be seen delivering anti-American propaganda about Afghanistan after she met with the Taliban. He has also given Jodie Evans special access to his Deputy Chief of Staff and the Office of Public Engagement.
The Code Pink Democrats have been given carte blanche by Obama and the Democrats to consort with terrorists abroad and terrorize opponents at home. When will the mainstream media, including Fox, take notice?

Oy you people just don't get it. There is a difference between activist groups like Teabaggers and elected representatives. Elected representatives are supposed to be speaking for ALL of their constituents, even the ones that didn't vote for them, which is why outbursts intended to derail debate by violating the norms of decorum are wrong. Activists take action because they don't have a voice in government. Elected representatives cannot make such a claim.
I am also struck by your allegation that Code Pink harrassed people in hospitals. Links or videos please. You seem to have forgotten that your argument would be bolstered by independently verifiable links. As your hero Palin pointed out, the troops are hurt when people "make stuff up."

For the past several months, this radical anti-everything group has been disgracing itself by holding weekly demonstrations outside Walter Reed Medical Center in Washington, D.C. – in full view of wounded soldiers going out to dinner with their families on Friday evenings.
They've been effectively countered by the diligent efforts of groups like Free Republic and Protest Warrior, who have set up their own demonstration of support for the troops on the opposite corner.
And now, my fellow San Diegans, it's our turn.
It has come to our attention that the local chapter of CodePink will be holding demonstrations across from the Balboa Naval Hospital.
These protests are clearly designed to demoralize our military, and make them doubt the resolve of the American public.

You people shame me; you clearly don't understand what it is that we veterans were trying to protect… but let me make it clear… it included BOTH their right to object to the war and your right to make these ignorant, misrepresentations of what they are trying to do.
I can tell you that our troops understand the distinctions between supporting them and supporting the war; they also recognize the difference between "saying that they are supported" and failing to send them the proper equipment and failing to plan effectively for the peace and failing to focus on Afghanistan, where the real effort should have been.

Code Pink members became known during the Bush Administration as confrontational anti-war protestors, but the group is actually worse than that. Code Pink’s leadership has aligned with almost every tyrannical force opposing the U.S., from Chavez to Ahmadinejad to Hamas to Iraq insurgents. Code Pink is acting more like the ambassador for enemies of the free world than an advocate for peace.
Kristinn Taylor and Andrea Shea King over at BigGovernment.com are doing an excellent job chronicling the outrageous activities of Code Pink and its leadership over the years. Most recently, Code Pink has organized a “Gaza Freedom March” to call for an end to the blockade of the Gaza Strip, currently controlled by Hamas. The organization boasts that they have provided humanitarian aid to the territory, and has done so under the protection of Hamas. The terrorist group often diverts such aid for its own purposes, and it should be suspected that this is no different. Hamas also builds support by providing social services, so if such aid didn’t directly go to supporting the group’s violent operations, it certainly did go to support its recruiting efforts.
Hamas is a branch of the Muslim Brotherhood, a radical Islamic organization whose goal is to wage “a kind of grand jihad in eliminating and destroying Western civilization from within and ‘sabotaging’ its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God’s religion is made victorious over all other religions.” In other words, it wants to create a worldwide Islamic state. Code Pink has also teamed up with this extremist organization, placing ads on its website asking them to “join us in cleansing our country.”
Code Pink has been embraced by the Iranian government as well. Jodie Evans, one of the group’s leaders, met with Ahmadinejad in New York in September 2008, resulting in a trip to the country two months later. The group met with high-level government officials, and offered to help fund a “peace park” and environmentally-friendly businesses in Tehran. Co-founder of Code Pink Medea Benjamin praised the prices of public transportation in Iran and said she was “struck by how much more open Iran is than I had thought.”
To their credit, Code Pink did express sympathy for the protestors confronting the regime this summer, but called on the U.S. to lift sanctions and end threatening language and supported President Obama’s initial silence. In other words, Code Pink said they supported the Iranian people, but did not want do anything to support the Iranian people.
In January 2006, Evans and other colleagues including Cindy Sheehan met with Venezuela’s President Chavez. Benjamin had previously described Chavez as a “doll,” and said “George Bush—and John Kerry for that matter—could learn a thing or two from Hugo Chavez about winning the hearts and minds of the people.”
Maybe evans and her fellow POS should go to Iran and protest in behalf of the Iranian people. You know the ones that get EXECUTED for making their voices heard. Where does garbage like evans get the capital to travel and spew her garbage. Follow the money trail. Hmm, I wonder what anarchist person(s) or organization(s) might be involved? Any guess to their party affiliation?
Jodie Evans’ reaction to the 9/11 attacks shows a complete ignorance of the ideological element of the terrorists, instead linking the disaster to Middle Eastern anger over U.S. foreign policy. She agreed in an interview that Bin Laden had a valid argument against the U.S., and said, “Why do we have bases in the Middle East? We totally violated the rights of that country,” referring to Saudi Arabia. Apparently, Evans is unaware that those bases were constructed with the permission of the Saudi government and are meant to protect the country from the very people she defends, like Saddam Hussein.
In 2003, Saddam hosted Evans and other Code Pink members in Iraq, aware that their anti-war activism had crossed the line into propaganda efforts on his behalf. As long as a regime redistributes wealth and is socialistic in how it governs, the country is praised by Code Pink, who seems to have little passion for promoting democracy, free markets or the human rights of oppressed citizens overseas. This type of thinking was apparent when she praised Saddam Hussein’s social services, saying “there was a good education and health care system, food for everyone. That system didn’t belong to Saddam, it belonged to the Iraqis, it belonged to year of creating what a civilization needed. If your parents didn’t send you to school, they could be put in jail.”
After Saddam’s toppling, Evans supported the insurgents fighting American soldiers, ignoring the fact that many of these were foreign jihadists affiliated with Al-Qaeda-type groups, and were former members of Saddam Hussein’s Republican Guards, Fedayeen militia, and intelligence service. To Code Pink, these forces of oppression and evil were the representatives of the Iraqi people fighting for liberation. They are completely unaware that the insurgents fight not only against American forces, but target Iraqi civilians and want to overthrow Iraq’s elected democratic government.

Evans has even, according to her friend, Jane Fonda, met with members of the Taliban in Afghanistan and Benjamin has tried to paint them as being motivated by lack of employment.
Today, Code Pink is campaigning against President Obama’s decision to send 30,000 more soldiers to Afghanistan and against the use of drones in Pakistan. Politics seems to pull more weight than principle though, as Code Pink is against an immediate withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan for the exact same reasons as such a move would be wrong in Iraq. President Obama can pursue a similar type of policy that Code Pink lambasted under the previous administration, but they aren’t calling for citizens’ arrests of him and his officials like they are doing for members of the Bush Administration.

Code Pink’s embracing of anti-American actors is part of a calculated strategy. Medea wrote in 2003 that members of the movement she belonged to needed to “link up with appropriate local and regional groups” overseas to “channel the bursting anti-American sentiment overseas.” Forces supporting America are left out as part of the equation.
Code Pink is not a group genuinely promoting peace and human rights. The organization links up and supports virtually any anti-American actor, ignoring their oppression of their citizens that can hardly qualify as “peace” and the threat that they pose. In choosing its friends, Code Pink’s leadership has decided that the sole standard is that they must be an enemy of the United States.

You are right, Code Pink has the right to free speech but it's funny now that the other party is in power any critic or negative comment about them is considered to be supporting terrorism or anti-American.
