Convicted Felon and Democrat Strategist Robert Creamer Visits White House Five Times in August–Tie to #Occupy?

by Joel B. Pollak

Michelle Malkin reports today, based on the Obama administration’s latest document dump of visitor logs, that convicted fraudster and community organizer Robert Creamer has visited the White House sixty times since January 2009–five times in August 2011 alone.

As first reported at Big Government, Creamer is the apparent architect of the Democrats’ political strategy for imposing Obamacare on the nation, composing a “blueprint”–that was later endorsed by high-level Obama advisers–while he was in federal prison. Creamer also claims to have been “one of the major architects of the successful 2005 campaign to defeat the Bush plan to privatize of Social Security.” In 2010, Creamer led efforts to rally the Democratic base by demonizing Republicans and making wildly optimistic predictions of victory:

Big Government also reported in May that Creamer, who worked for the Obama campaign in 2008, has also set up a nationwide political consulting firm to provide field operations and propaganda for Obama and the Democrats in the 2012 elections.

The timing of the August 2011 efforts is particularly interesting, given Creamer’s efforts this fall to promote the Occupy Wall Street movement and to target Bank of America in particular. Creamer told the New York Times in October that he hoped the Occupy movement would “inspire the progressive base” and help President Obama frame the issues for his re-election campaign. (more…)

White House Visitor Logs ‘Riddled with Holes’

by Tom Fitton

Remember when the Obama White House proudly announced it would make records of White House visitors publicly available as a demonstration of the president’s “commitment to transparency?” Well, this announcement may have played well in the lap-dog press, but when you dive into the details, it appears these White House logs are “riddled with holes,” rendering the grand Obama promise into nothing more than political posturing.

According to the Center for Public Integrity:

The [White House visitor] logs are…incomplete for thousands of…visitors to the White House, including lobbyists, government employees, campaign donors, policy experts, and friends of the first family, according to an investigation by the Center for Public Integrity.

The White House website proudly boasts of making available ‘over 1,000,000 records of everyone who’s come through the doors of the White House’ via a searchable database.

Yet the Center’s analysis shows that the logs routinely omit or cloud key details about the identity of visitors, who they met with, the nature of the visit, and even includes the names of people who never showed up. These are critical gaps that raise doubts about their historical accuracy and utility in helping the public understand White House operations from social events to meetings on key policy debates.

Judicial Watch has been covering the White House visitor logs issue for a very long time. (And we were happy to help the Center for Public Integrity on its story.) In fact, it was Judicial Watch that successfully forced the release of White House visitor logs related to visits by former lobbyist and convicted felon Jack Abramoff to the Bush White House all the way back in 2006.

Which Malik Shabazz Visited White House in July 2009, Mr. President?

by Andrew Breitbart

In May 2009, the Obama/Holder Justice Department dropped charges in a voter intimidation case against Malik Shabazz, a leader of the New Black Panther Party, despite having already won a summary judgment against him, and his New Black Panther Party colleagues King Samir Shabazz and Jerry Jackson who were video-taped outside polling place in Philadelphia intimidating voters as they arrived on election day, 2008.  In July 2009, when Congress began looking into the matter, someone named Malik Shabazz visited the private residence at the White House.

malik-shabazz

When news of the visit was released under the auspices of transparency, the White House denied that the Malik Shabazz on the visitor’s log was the same Malik Shabazz involved in the New Black Panther voter intimidation case.  According to Norm Eisen, special counsel to the president for ethics and government reform, the records contained “a few “false positives” – names that make you think of a well-known person, but are actually someone else.”  He specifically cited Malik Shabazz as an example of one of these “false positives”.

At the time, the media did not challenge the White House on the veracity of this claim.  The White House’s position was, basically: “We’re being transparent, here are all the visitor logs, and this guy is not the guy you think he is, TRUST US.”

The great thing about transparency – when there is actual transparency – is that it renders trust unnecessary.  We ask that the White House identify which Malik Shabazz visited the White House residence on July 25, 2009.

The logs show that a ‘Jodie Evans’ met with Buffy Wicks, the Deputy Director of the White House Office of Public Engagement (OPE) on June 19, 2009. The meeting came just days after Evans’ group, Code Pink, visited the terrorist group Hamas in Gaza from May 28th to June 14th and was given a letter by Hamas to deliver to President Barack Obama.

On December 30th, the Obama administration released 25,000 records of visitors to the White House complex from the latter half of September. Mixed in those records were visits from other dates, including two by ‘Jodie Evans’ in June.

A Different Malik Shabazz and Jeremiah Wright? What Are the Odds?

by Larry O'Connor

As a frequent contributor to Big Hollywood and Big Government, I was so proud to read Andrew Breitbart’s full-throated correction posted front and center at Big Government the other day.  I was not proud that we had made an error that required correcting, but I was proud that we treated it up front and loudly for all the world to see.  It is a stark contrast to corrections in the New York Times that are hidden somewhere between the crossword puzzle and the obituaries (which soon will include the Times, itself).

But, the more I thought about the story that prompted the correction (the fact that our headline stated that ACORN CEO Bertha Lewis visited the White House but it appeared that it was a different Bertha Lewis), the more I kept thinking to myself:  “What are the odds?”  You see, it isn’t just Bertha Lewis who has a name doppelganger out there.  The White House also claimed that the Jeremiah Wright who visited there was a different Jeremiah Wright.  And, even more credulity-defying, a different Malik Shabazz visited the White House this year as well. New Document Reveals: SEIU Will Conquer Using Any Means Necessary

by Kyle Olson

When a small sampling of the White House guest list was revealed several days, Obama campaign bankroller SEIU was at the top of the list.  Having spent over $60 million to elect Obama, why should we expect anything different?

Earlier this year, SEIU president Andy Stern admitted he holds weekly meetings at the White House and, according to the guest list, several with the president himself.  That makes Andy Stern one important man.  Perhaps one of the most important in Washington, in fact.

seiu

Andy Stern has long been labeled a ruthless, bare-knuckled union organizer.  His union has a significant portion of its membership made up of health care workers and, not surprisingly, has been of the groups most aggressively pushing for socialized medicine.

Stern’s SEIU has been very aggressive at increasing its membership, often employing intimidation to meet its ends.  Just one example: In, 2008 SEIU thugs beat up members, mainly women, from rival unions at a labor union convention.  SEIU then issued a press release entitled, “SEIU Members Stand Up for the Future of the Labor Movement and the Interests of All Workers.”
