Judicial Watch Launches National Campaign on Illegal Immigration

by Tom Fitton

The illegal immigration debate could not be any hotter. While JW was protecting the rights of Maryland citizens to stop tuition breaks for illegal aliens in Maryland, on October 14, a federal court blocked provisions of Alabama’s new tough illegal immigration enforcement law from taking effect — at the urging of the Obama Department of Justice (DOJ) — while allowing other provisions to be enforced. At the same time, Arizona’s illegal immigration enforcement law, SB 1070, is expected to go before the U.S. Supreme Court soon (Judicial Watch currently represents the Arizona State Legislature in court and recently filed an amicus curiae brief with the High Court, which began its current term on October 3).

In the midst of this firestorm, Judicial Watch took aggressive action, launching a national television advertising campaign to combat illegal immigration. The purpose of the campaign is to collect petitions from the American people to send to the governors of all 50 states, urging them to obey and enforce all laws against illegal immigration. This campaign to encourage our nation’s governors to stand strong on illegal immigration law enforcement has become more urgent now that the Obama DOJ has decided to sue states for merely trying to protect their citizens from the scourge of illegal immigration.

But it’s not just the federal government that is to blame. Some states have decided to side with the illegal aliens, rolling out the welcome mat for illegal aliens through costly and unlawful sanctuary policies. That’s why we’re going national with this petition campaign. The petition campaign is being driven by a series of television advertisements that began broadcasting this week in California, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas, as well as nationwide on Fox Business News (FBN) and the Military Channel.

In this new national campaign, Judicial Watch asks Americans take a stand on this illegal immigration crisis:

The cost of illegal immigration is a burden on every taxpaying citizen. That’s why Judicial Watch fights hard to hold politicians accountable when they violate and undermine immigration law. Take a stand. Sign this petition and tell your state governor to enforce our federal immigration laws.

The objective of our television campaign is to educate the public and encourage citizens to petition their government in support of the rule of law. Here’s what our petition states (If you’d like to sign off on these principles, then please click here and join our cause!):

While Governor Jan Brewer Fights to Keep Arizona Safe, President Obama Fights Against Arizona

by AWR Hawkins

Immigration laws in this country are convoluted, of that there is no doubt. Through the years, far too many politicians have changed this or that aspect of our policy to suit their fancy (and gain votes), and as a result, minutia and backroom deals crowd out what is really important: enunciating a congruent approach to immigration and enforcing the policies that constitute that approach.

But who shall enforce it? Particularly when there are so many illegal immigrants and drug cartel members flooding into one state that citizens of that state risk being invaded?

It would seem that Article IV, Section 4, of our Constitution recognizes such enforcement as a federal duty, insomuch as it says the government of “The United States…shall protect each of [the states] against Invasion.”

But what if the illegal immigrants and drug cartel members are so powerful, because so well armed, that they actually outmaneuver the federal presence within a state to the point of literally controlling certain parts of that state? At that point, whose job is it to enforce immigration laws?

Here, Article 1, Section 10, of the Constitution seems to indicate that the states can act in their own defense, if “actually invaded” or “in such imminent Danger as will not admit of delay.” In other words, the same Constitution that recognizes immigration enforcement/border security as the duty of the federal government also admits that in a pinch, the states have the right to repel invaders and fight against threats that are so imminent there’s no time to waste. (The Supreme Court said as much in 1976 [De Canas v Bica] when it ruled “that federal immigration laws did not prohibit the states from enforcing the policies embodied by those federal immigration laws.”)

And this brings us to Arizona, where Governor Jan Brewer has long contended that the federal government refuses to enforce immigration laws or secure the border separating her state from Mexico.

EXPOSED! America’s Democracy Traded Away for a Slice of Pizza!

by LaborUnionReport

It is hard to believe that, when America’s founding fathers established our democratic republic, they could have envisioned it could be so easily manipulated and corrupted so cheaply. However, to Democrats and their union handlers, the ends apparently do justify the means when it comes to transforming America.

America’s democratic system for electing our representatives is supposed to be a model for the rest of the world.  Yet, unions and union-funded shadowy groups, along with their Democrat cronies, seem to have come up with a clever way of corrupting America’s democracy using Latinos and…pizza.

Last month, we wrote about how unions or their allies could be stealing the mid-term elections even before November 2nd. What you’re about to read and see for yourself is one of those events where Hispanic voters were lured to an early voting rally just two weeks ago and fed pizza for their votes…all the while under the watchful gaze of one of Arizona’s highest officials. SEIU to Illegal Immigrants: Republicans Will Round You Up Like the Nazis and Put You in Internment Camps

by Liberty Chick

Thursday morning at 12:01 a.m. local time, Arizona’s well publicized anti-illegal-immigration law will  finally go into effect.  Or at least parts of it will.  U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton ruled today to block several provisions of the law that some consider controversial (even though these mimic federal law).   However, the judge has allowed the remainder of the law to move forward as planned while the case is being litigated.  This includes allowing the state of Arizona to stop rogue state officials from implementing “sanctuary city” policies, and allowing the state to pursue civil lawsuits over sanctuary cities.  In addition, Arizona will still be permitted to implement the portion of the law that makes it a crime to pick up day laborers, an issue that law enforcement and officials say has become a major problem in the state.

While yesterday’s ruling is being praised by opponents of the law, it won’t stop their protests, it will prolong them.  For years.  In fact, hordes of angry protesters are scheduled to descend upon the state first thing Thursday morning.  And the propaganda machine on the left continues to run at full speed, cranking out intentionally misleading statements, disinformation, and outright lies.  We’ve watched the boycotts.  We’ve watched as the protests have erupted into hate events, directed not from the right against illegal immigrants as the left portrays them, but from the left and illegal immigrants against peaceful people on the right (and many in the center!).

Meanwhile, as the left continues their manufactured barrage of anger at Andrew Breitbart for supposedly taking things out of context in the Shirley Sherrod story, they fabricate their own version of context propaganda on video in examples like this one from the SEIU:
