As Yuval Levin notes in National Review, the Ryan-Wyden plan also plans to keep the cost of premium support low by using competitive bidding among private insurers to provide a defined minimum amount of coverage. That mechanism, Levin adds, is “an even more market-based reform than the original Ryan proposal” passed in the House budget earlier this year.

Rep. Ryan’s staff notes that he has always been willing to tinker with his Medicare proposals, and has done so in the past with Democrats such as former Clinton budget director Alice Rivlin. They stress that the key to the Ryan-Wyden plan is that Medicare would move from a defined benefit plan to a defined contribution plan–and they hail Sen. Wyden for his willingness to embrace that step, which is common in the business world but has traditionally been a conservative approach in the public policy arena.

The prospect of bipartisan entitlement reform is shaking the political world–not just because the Ryan-Wyden plan appears closer to Gov. Mitt Romney’s proposals than those of any other presidential contender, but also because it may thwart Democrats’ most cynical, and effective, campaign tactic: scaring seniors.

The left-wing Talking Points Memo predicts: “The move will infuriate other Democrats, all the way up to President Obama, who has been preparing a national campaign that emphasizes — not obscures — the contrast between the parties’ different visions of the social safety net.”

(Update: As expected, the White House has attacked the Ryan-Wyden plan almost immediately, claiming that it would “undermine, rather than strengthen, Medicare.” Even Sam Stein’s not buying the administration spin, noting that the Ryan-Wyden plan contains reforms Obama has previously supported.)

At the Huffington Post, Robert Creamer–the felon who apparently hatched Democrats’ political strategy for Obamacare from federal prison–is furious, claiming that the Ryan-Wyden plan will still “eliminate” Medicare and replace it with “vouchers,” and venting his frustration at Wyden: “What was he thinking?”

The Ryan-Wyden plan also disrupts the false mainstream media narrative that Republicans want to harm the economy in order to defeat President Obama next November. In fact, it exposes the reformist pretensions of the Obama White House, which is fully prepared to exacerbate America’s debt and entitlement crises to ensure the president’s re-election.

And as the Wall Street Journal suggests in an editorial today, the Ryan-Wyden plan sends a message to those Republicans too timid to offer serious and sweeping policy proposals. Real and meaningful political change is still possible, with the right ideas, and the requisite amount of courage, which both Rep. Ryan and Sen. Wyden have commendably displayed.

Democratic sources told the Tribune that the dinner was “part of the Obama team wooing and coordinating with the tech world.”  In the case of Google, we are confident it was more about coordinating than wooing.

Google and the president are well beyond the wooing stage of a relationship. Schmidt has been named a potential nominee to fill the vacated Secretary of Commerce position.  Such a nomination would cement Google’s influence over the Administration – a relationship that has put the company in a position to steer policy and taxpayer funded contracts back into the pockets of Google executives who have funded the president since his initial foray into the presidential arena in 2007.

In 2008, Politico detailed the relationship between the newly elected president and the company.  “’ From the staff attorney all the way up the line, everybody now knows that Google is close to Obama,’” Politico reported. “And that could subtly affect the policy playing field in Google’s favor.”  Subtly was an understatement.

The group Consumer Watchdog has detailed some of the way Google has benefited from their relationship with the Obama Administration, including how NASA’s Moffett Airfield has been turned into a subsidized private airport for Google executives.  But that is just crumbs off the government largess table.  Google has received contracts from NASA, the NSA and other government agencies.  At the same time, they have placed key people in policy positions in the White House.

Conservatives have little qualm with companies that are successful, hence some reservation about efforts to call for anti-trust review of the behemoth.  However, Google isn’t running away from the government – it is running to the government with arms wide open.  They are seeking contracts, policy bailouts and taxpayer support to help beef up their bottom line.  This spigot of taxpayer support for the company needs to be cut off and conservatives need to lead the charge.

Obama and the Democrats claim that the Chamber of Commerce has been funding Republican candidates using foreign money. But as I show in great detail in my book The Post-American Presidency: The Obama Administration’s War On America (Simon & Schuster), in 2008 Obama’s FEC records were full of donations from people with obviously fake names, and other questionable material. (In contrast, McCain’s were squeaky clean.)

The Obama campaign website even featured a drop-down box enabling donors to specify from what country they were donating. All the donor had to do was check a box certifying that he was legally eligible to make a donation. There was no safeguard in place to make sure that foreign nationals did not donate from these countries, in flagrant defiance of the federal law forbidding candidates from receiving foreign donations.

Obama’s campaign received donations from the world over: the Virgin Islands, Vienna, The Hague, Madrid, London, Geneva, Tokyo, Bangkok, Turin, Paris, Munich, Madrid, Roma, Zurich, Moscow, Milan, Singapore, Beijing, Switzerland, Toronto, Vancouver, Dublin, Panama, Berlin, Geneva, Buenos Aires, Prague, Nagoya, Budapest, Barcelona, Sweden, Taipei, Hong Kong, Rio de Janeiro, Sydney, Zurich, Ragusa, Amsterdam, Hamburg, Uganda, Mumbai, Tunis, Zacatecas, St. Croix, Mississauga, Lima, Copenhagen, Dubai, Jeddah, Kabul, Cairo, and many others.

Worst of all, Obama’s campaign received contributions from Hamas-controlled Gaza (documentation here) and lied about refunding those jihad donations.

According to the FEC, the Obama campaign received contributions from three brothers in Gaza: Osama, Monir and Hossam Edwan, totaling $33,000. (It is illegal to receive campaign contributions from foreigners.) One of the Gazan brothers, Monir Edwan (identified here), claimed that he bought “Obama for President” t-shirts off Obama’s website and then sold the t-shirts in Gaza for a profit. All purchases on the Barack Obama website are considered contributions.

The Palestinians allegedly claimed that “they were American citizens,” or at least so said Obama’s people. They listed their address with a zip code of 972 (which is, ironically, the area code for Israel) and they listed “GA” as the state where they were living. That’s the state abbreviation for Georgia (screen shot here), but they were actually lived in a Hamas-controlled refugee camp in Gaza.

So if Obama’s people thought that the Edwan brothers were living in “Georgia,” and didn’t represent illegal foreign contributions to his campaign, why did they ship the t-shirts to the correct address in Gaza? One would think that they might have noticed that the shipping costs to send something overseas to a refugee camp in Gaza are vastly different from what you’d pay to send something to the state next door.

The Obama campaign claimed that it returned these illegal contributions. And they were prepared for this issue to come to the fore again: when I appeared on Asman’s show Tuesday, apparently Obama’s clean-up crew gave David Asman a record of “refunds.” The White House sent Asman this link showing a refund of the money that came from Gaza, but you’ll notice it doesn’t come near the $33,000 donated to Obama from Gaza; nor does it list Osama Edwan’s refund.

We have been down this road before. The Obama camp claimed in 2008 that they had returned the illegal contributions from Gaza, but this never appeared in the records. They claimed for two years that the money had been returned, but the donors in Gaza said it wasn’t. When we reviewed the records, it hadn’t been returned. Obama’s people claimed that virtually all of the money, about $33,500, was returned by December 6, 2008. But they also claimed that because of a “technical error,” the refunds weren’t reported to the FEC.

If McCain had been involved with something so dark and nefarious — taking money from Islamic jihad — his candidacy would never have survived the media firestorm. But in this case the perpetrator was the son of hope, the agent of change, the one we had all been waiting for, and so the media yawned.

But when the Democrats’ accusations against the Republicans showed up their hypocrisy, and I pointed it out, suddenly the money has been returned. The fixers had two years to wash these dirty donations clean. This is dirty pool.

White House spokesman, Josh Earnest,  said, “This brings to light the importance of disclosure.  The only reason someone like Geller was able to find this out was because of the FEC’s disclosure of donations, something the Chamber of Commerce refuses to do.” Hey Josh, the Chamber is private, the FEC is government.

Aren’t they afraid that their hypocrisy will be exposed? No. The White House is fanatically partisan, bent on destroying the Republicans, and the Democrats don’t care about their hypocrisy on this issue because they know that the leftwing lapdog media will be carrying water for them.

So that means free Americans have to keep up the pressure.

Finally.

I have been calling for a special prosecutor for years, ever since I exposed the millions Obama received from Muslim nations, Hamas-controlled Gaza and other foreign countries.

Obama warned Thursday that “groups that receive foreign money are spending huge sums to influence American elections, and they won’t tell you where the money for their ads come from.” He also said that “just this week, we learned that one of the largest groups paying for these ads regularly takes in money from foreign corporations.”

Franken then duly hurried to do Obama’s bidding, calling on the Federal Election Commission to investigate the Chamber of Commerce, the group to which Obama was referring.

We move to a theater of the absurd upon hearing Al Franken, who lost his election on election night and began pulling votes out of car trunks to steal that election, calling for an investigation of foreign money.

Nonetheless, the Democrats’ mainstream media shills then took up the cause. On MSNBC, Rachel Maddow confronted Oregon Republican Congressional candidate Art Robinson with accusations about foreign contributions: “If you get elected in part because of this spending and you find out that it’s from criminals, or foreign interests, or communists or something, wouldn’t that bother you?”

Whether or not it should bother Robinson, it should bother Obama. While he is calling for an investigation into the Chamber of Commerce, there should be a full investigation into the foreign millions Obama received for his campaign.

It was I who broke the explosive news stories of Obama’s contributions from Gaza (Hamas-controlled Rafah) (documentation here), and of how he lied about refunding those jihad donations — not to mention the tens of millions of dollars Obama received in donations from foreign countries (scroll this link).

Yes, I checked over John McCain’s FEC records, too. They were so clean, you could eat dinner off them. Not Obama’s. Contributing nearly $25,000 to the Obama campaign was Monir Edwan, who was listed on FEC documents as contributing from the city of Rafah in the state “GA.” Georgia? No – there is no Rafah in the Peach State. Monir Edwan sent money to Obama from Rafah, Gaza.

Rafah is a Gaza refugee camp.

According to the FEC, contributions to the Obama campaign from three brothers, Osama, Monir and Hossam Edwan, all from Rafah, totaled $33,000. And they weren’t alone. Al-Jazeera reported on March 31, 2008 that Gazans were manning phone banks for the Obama campaign. Here is video of those Gaza phone banks.

The Obama campaign claimed that they had returned $33,500 in illegal contributions from Gaza – despite the fact that records do not show that it was returned, and the brothers said they did not receive any money. And indeed, Obama’s refunds and redesignations on file with the FEC show no refund to Osama, Hossam, or Monir Edwan in the Rafah refugee camp.

When I confronted Congressman Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) about the Gaza phone banks issue in South Florida in early November 2008, he said that if there “really were phone banks in Gaza, that would be a major campaign issue.” But he laughed at the idea that Obama was receiving campaign contributions from Gaza. The mainstream media laughed with him, continuing its refusal to cover this explosive story.

And to this day Obama’s foreign contributions have never been investigated.

The Democrat party today is so corrupt that Boss Tweed is blushing. The Democrats are so contemptuous of the American people, they think they can pull a stunt like this while being unequivocally guilty of what they’re accusing the Chamber of Commerce of doing.

As for the Chamber of Commerce, spokesperson Tita Freeman said: “We’re careful to ensure that we comply with all applicable laws. No foreign money is used to fund political activities.”

Remember when Obama said, “We are the ones we have been waiting for”? Yes, indeedy. And today, he is the one he is looking for.

This is our moment. This is the moment we have been waiting for. This is the time to investigate Obama’s contributions. It could, and should, mean the end of Obama’s presidency.

Obama’s Organizing for America (OFA) members were bussed into the parking lot before the Right Nation 2010 Conference in Chicago. The leftist protesters harassed Andrew Breitbart and called him a homo. This is while one of the members was leading the group in prayer.

After their religious service they turned in their flags and stacked up their signs.

They loaded their bus and took off down the road to OFA land.

Anita also rolled out her new website Emerging Corruption. The website will focus on fraud and corruption in ACORN and affiliated groups.

Anita already posted the Obama Donor List on the website as promised.

The site was and is closely policed. The site moderators remove material that they consider to be “disrespectful to our other users” and to “detract from a welcoming community where all people can engage in positive discourse.” What they find disrespectful can be interesting: once during the campaign a conservative blogger, Bill Levinson, posted a blog on Obama’s website consisting entirely of a series of quotations from Obama’s own book, Dreams of my Father. Obama’s team did not approve of their standard-bearer’s words, and so Levinson’s blog and account were deleted from the Obama site in just under 36 hours. That’s right, Barack Obama’s website banned Obama’s own words. But the most disgusting anti-semitic ravings remained on the site, along with blogs advocating anarchy and the overthrow of the United States Congress.

In April 2008 a typical post appeared, claiming that “Jews owe Africa and Africans everything they have today because if Africa did not shelter them when they were homeless and starving, they would not be here today.” And in July 2008, a piece called “They fear peace” by Kate Smythe-Blake went up on Obama’s site. “The kike filth,” Smythe-Blake ranted, “are trying to steal this election from us. But this is our time. The kike live in fear of peace. They fear happiness. The thought of people living happily in peace without killing each other frightens the horde of kike that runs our government.  But when pieces of kike use their kike manipulation tactics to stop Barack, it is time to strike back. There is nothing a kike army can do when faced with progressive people who are determined to achieve peace.  We will achieve lasting peace.”

When such things went up on Obama’s website (and often stayed there for long periods), the Jewish lay leadership in this country said nothing, did nothing, and supported this man. Now he is President of the United States, and there is even more ugly Jew hatred and incitement to kill Jews on Obama’s website. It harks back to the Jewish blood libels. Obama’s website has become a hub for Islamic antisemitism.

On October 5, a post went up on Obama’s website entitled  “Nazi Israel … Indeed.” It quoted a Princeton professor, Richard Falk, referring to Israel’s “war crimes”, “genocidal tendencies”, “holocaust implications”, and “holocaust-in-the-making.” It spoke about Israel’s “Nazi-like crimes and human rights violation.” It claimed: “Comparing the present-day Israel with Nazi Germany one discovers that the majority of the Israeli policies are the exact copies of the Nazi policies. Nazi Germany had invaded its European neighbors extending from England to Russia. Israel had also invaded all its neighboring countries; Egypt, Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon. It is also heavily involved in the invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan. Its tentacles had also reached African countries as far as South Africa, Somalia, Sudan, Angola, and Sierra Leone.”

Continuing the lies and blood libels, the post claims: “Worse than the Nazis Israeli forces used to invade peaceful Palestinian towns, execute men, women and children in cold blood everywhere and anywhere they encounter them, dynamite their homes on top of their residents, and finally demolish the whole town making room for new Israeli colonies.” It charges that Israel pursued “a pre-meditated genocidal plan” against the Palestinian Arabs.

Suffice to say that this entry passed muster with Obama’s moderators and is clearly acceptable to Obama for America.

Why hasn’t Obama stopped the terrible hate speech he was hosting on his site? This has been going on for well over a year. And it continues. He knows the anti-semites post these blood libels on his website. So why does he retain the platform as President of the United States? It’s evil. Why does he encourage it with his silence? Is Obama an anti-semite? By his fruits we shall know him, and so we know him
