Contrary to recent media reports, the Brazilian Blowout hair treatment is safe for use.

You’d never know it, though, because the mainstream media has been perpetuating one myth after another about Brazilian Blowout while ignoring the facts.   Last time, I wrote about a hatchet job made to appear as a legitimate study by Oregon OSHA [Note to Editor: Please link to Part 1] that was covered ad-nauseum by the media.

Yet, when a respected scientific association issued a balanced statement regarding Brazilian Blowout, the media spun it to make it appear that the company was fighting regulatory sampling of the product.  To wit: The American Chemistry Council, which actually manufactures formaldehyde, released a statement ten days before Oregon OSHA unveiled its biased “report”.

“We encourage the company that makes the Brazilian Blowout to cooperate fully with government officials to ensure that the product meets federal and state standards for formaldehyde use”.

Brazilian Blowout fully cooperated and, as thanks, was subjected to a biased and editorialized government report from Liberal environmentalists at Oregon OSHA.  Yet Time Magazine would have you believe that “The chemical industry is actually sort of coming down on the side of regulators and activist groups on the issue”, while quoting hack anti-capitalist enviro-wackos like Siobhan O’Connor.  The company’s side of the story, however, was omitted.

So, with the house already stacking the odds against Brazilian Blowout, Federal OSHA entered the fray.

Spurred by a spate of sex attacks in Zuccotti Park, Occupy Wall Street protesters built a “safe house” for women on Friday. The 16-square-foot military frame tent is designed to shelter up to 30 women from the predators lurking around the lower Manhattan encampment.

“It will be used to protect ourselves from people out there,” said Nan Terrie, 17, a protester from East Oakland Park, Fla. “I’m sick and tired of women getting taken advantage of, raped and murdered. “We need to take charge. We can make it happen without men telling us what to do,” said Terrie, who heads a protester subcommittee called Strong Women Rules. Terrie said the tent, erected along the southern edge of the park near Cedar St., will be outfitted with bunk beds, drawers and a welcome table. A second tent will house a computer.

“I think it’s a great idea, especially for a movement like ours, to show we’re supporting each other,” said Bieje Chapman, 37, of Park Slope. “Certainly women are the first target for any type of crazies, but I live in Park Slope, and the rapists there are more scary. I feel safer here.”

Never mind money laundering or violating the Mann Act. Never mind illegal campaign contributions and the subsequent lies about the true source of the money. Never mind using the New York State Police to spy on his political opponent and then trying to cover-it up Nixon style. Never mind that the Spitzer of today rails for the AIG e-mails when he blocked release of his own e-mails in the Troopergate matter. Eliot Spitzer’s real crime, above all, was having sex with calf length black socks on.

And now, sadly, he’s lying about it. In an amazingly candid and obtuse interview in Bigthink.com, Spitzer denied he wore black hosiery to do the wild thang. But there are at least three independent confirmations of this weird predilection.

Lying is not new to Eliot Milhous Spitzer. He lied about the illegal loans from his father that financed his election as Attorney General until the NY Daily News exposed his lies. He lied about his involvement in efforts to have the New York State Police spy on his political opponents as e-mails released after his resignation prove. I believe he ‘rolled on” Manhattan Madam Kristin Davis to avoid charges in the hooker scandal that brought him down.
