Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli is intervening in his state’s presidential primary dispute and plans to file emergency legislation to address the inability of most Republican presidential candidates to get their name on the ballot, Fox News has learned.

Meanwhile, four GOP candidates on Saturday joined fellow candidate Rick Perry’s lawsuit against the state, urging the Board of Elections to either allow them on the ballot or at least refrain from taking any action until a Jan. 13 court hearing.

Only Mitt Romney and Ron Paul qualified for the Virginia primary, a contest with 49 delegates up for grabs. Perry and the four candidates joining the lawsuit — Newt Gingrich, Michele Bachmann, Rick Santorum and Jon Huntsman — did not.

The failure of other candidates to qualify led to complaints that the 10,000-signature requirement is too stringent.

Cuccinelli, who is a Republican, shared the concerns and plans to take them to the legislature while the candidates work through the courts.

“Recent events have underscored that our system is deficient,” he said in a statement Saturday. “Virginia owes her citizens a better process. We can do it in time for the March primary if we resolve to do so quickly.”

From the Associated Press:

A federal appeals court in Virginia dismissed two lawsuits Thursday that had challenged the constitutionality of President Barack Obama’s health care overhaul.

The three-judge panel of the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled in both lawsuits—one filed by Virginia Attorney General Kenneth Cuccinelli, the other by Liberty University—that the plaintiffs did not have standing to sue. The court did not delve into the constitutional issues.

The Richmond-based appeals court is the third appellate court to rule in lawsuits challenging the health care reform law, which requires individuals to buy health insurance or pay a penalty. A federal appeals court in Cincinnati also upheld the law, but an appeals court in Atlanta struck down the insurance mandate.

Two of the judges on the Virginia panel were appointed by Obama, the other by Bill Clinton.

Read the whole thing here. Virginia has a law which says that individuals cannot be compelled to purchase health insurance. This is in conflict with federal law set forth in ObamaCare. That is what you call standing. This ruling, by a panel of all Democrat judges, will not stand.

WaPo has a front page piece titled (in the print edition, and teased as such on the home page), “The climate issue takes a back seat”. It begins by noting that “Heather Zichal, deputy assistant to the president for energy and climate-change policy, makes a forceful case for the need to slash greenhouse-gas emissions and boost the efficiency of cars and small trucks: The moves will cut America’s oil consumption, foster the nation’s energy independence, save consumers money at the pump and help revive domestic auto manufacturers.”

Its second paragraph is an intended-to-be-impactful, lone sentence, isolated in the physical layout: “What she doesn’t volunteer is that they will curb climate change”.

WaPo’s best defense for this stunt is that it wasn’t really saying the ‘global warming’ rules would curb climate change, but just saying the White House aide doesn’t volunteer that they do (the reason for this being a Stan Greenberg poll “urging Democrats to play down ‘global warming’“, dropping “warming”, “climate” and “cap-and-trade” in favor of re-branding the effort as “clean energy”. That is, in effect counseling Dems to be even less candid than their Plan A of an end-of-days fear-based campaign aimed at attaining public acquiescence for state-created energy scarcity).

Later in the piece, WaPo quotes a greenie as saying “I don’t blame the president for the failure of climate legislation, but I do hold him accountable for allowing opponents to fill the void with misinformation and outright lies about climate change”.

This in a piece in which WaPo does just that (or else their environment writer, like the editors, are factually ignorant; I leave it to them to tell us which it is).

You see, WaPo did not support its plain implication that these rules would curb climate change — or even, according to anyone, impact it in any way that could be measured or discerned. The reason for this is because there is no support for the assertion. Period. Full stop. Not even arguable.

No one, and no computer model on which this agenda is premised, claims that that is the case.

It is possible that is why the president’s aide doesn’t make that claim. Except the White House regularly made the claim before being advised to change course.

Even the left-leaning PolitiFact Virginia concluded the following, after having sensed opportunity to sully Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli for noting there will be no climatic impact from these rules:

[Cuccinelli said] “It turns out that they believe, that if fully implemented with all the regulations that go with it, they will keep the temperature from rising nearly five one-hundredths of a degree Fahrenheit. By 2050.”

As the crowd laughed and jeered, the attorney general added, “I might not be able to see my breath by then.”

Only 0.05 degrees by 2050? Is that really what the EPA was claiming these rules would do?…

Let’s review. The Virginia attorney general said the EPA’s new tailpipe emissions rules for cars and other light-duty vehicles would reduce temperature increases by 0.05 degrees Fahrenheit. He said this would occur by 2050.

The EPA said the reductions would be between 0.011 degrees Fahrenheit and 0.027 degrees Fahrenheit and would occur by 2100. The agency’s claim is even more modest than Cuccinelli suggested…

Because his mistakes were minor and in the EPA’s favor, we rate his claim as True.

And that hypothetical small fraction of a degree is not detectable from background noise using even our most sophisticated technology.

The truth is that, running, e.g., EPA’s MAGICC model — that is, accepting all of the alarmist industry’s assumptions, methods and schemes — there is no detectable climatic impact from the more restrictive House-passed cap-and-trade legislation. There is none from even the ‘global treaty’, Kyoto. Zip, zero, nada.

WaPo’s statement is an emotional appeal, a political statement. It is at its very best, giving it more doubt than it ever gives anyone not fully in lock-step with WaPo’s agenda, highly and fairly cynically misleading. It is advocacy. Or it is ignorance. Regardless, it is wrong.

No one claims that the administration’s efforts in the name of temperatures would actually impact temperatures. It’s not about temperatures. Any more than WaPo’s reporting is about “just the facts.”

Virginia Attorney General Kenneth Cuccinelli was asked Sunday on FOX News if he will investigate Planned Parenthood.

Here is his response:

“Well certainly we take an interest any time you see an expression like you do in these tapes of a willingness to support sex trafficking of minors. What you don’t have is an actual case of it on film but what you do have is clearly an open willingness of several organizations meaning subsidiaries of Planned Parenthood nationally in the same category, sex trafficking of minors, and an open willingness to participate in this.

And, this is at a time that we are trying to deal with human trafficking. For a few years we have been trying to figure how to get at it. And, when you see something like this you can see how it can flourish. There are institutions already in place in Virginia and across America, Planned Parenthood in this case, who are happily willing to aid and abet that sort of effort.”

Our investigative team has just released the second undercover video revealing Planned Parenthood counseling a pimp on how to obtain secret abortions for his under age sex slaves, by bypassing Virginia parental consent laws meant to protect children. In the footage, taken January 12, 2011, undercover actors tell the Planned Parenthood worker that they are involved in sex work, and manage 14 and 15 year old girls,
“some of them from out of state, out of country.” The Planned Parenthood staffer assures him it is confidential, that “we see people here from all walks of life,” and goes on to coach the pimp how to obtain secret abortions for his sex slaves by circumventing Virginia law that require parental consent for underage abortions.

Just last Tuesday, our team released footage showing the manager of the second largest clinic of Planned Parenthood of Central New Jersey counseling a pimp how to have his under age sex slaves lie on paper, how to purchase cheap birth control, and how to ensure that his young victims can still make money for him “waist up” after coerced abortions. Along with the New Jersey footage, the Virginia footage further reveals the endemic cover up of abuse at Planned Parenthood clinic across the country. For four years, our investigative team has been documenting the widespread abuse cover up at Planned Parenthood.

See it yourself. From 2007-2009, we released 10 cases of sexual abuse cover up in six states. And our footage has led to suspensions and firings, resignations, numerous state investigations and probation.

Institutionally, Planned Parenthood refuses to report the sexual abuse of minors–even if the law requires that they do so, and even if the abuse is as brutal as sex trafficking.

Young girls are going into Planned Parenthood clinics every day, too many the victims of abuse. According to the Department of Justice, an estimated 300 to 400 thousand children are trafficked for sex every
year.

Some are taken to Planned Parenthood clinics for secret abortions. Instead of reporting the abusers of minors and young women, Planned Parenthood is enabling pimps and predators with their refusal to
report abuse and willingness to assist the pimp’s underage prostitution business.

Today our team is sending full footage from the Richmond investigation to Federal and state authorities, including Virginia Attorney General Ken Cucchinelli and requesting full-scale state and federal investigations of human trafficking and sexual abuse cover up at Planned Parenthood clinics.

We also call for the immediate freezing of all federal and state funds to this organization–funds that add up to over 300 million of taxpayer dollars.

Please join us in this effort to educate others and expose the rampant sexual abuse cover up and further victimization of underage traffick victims in Planned Parenthood clinics.
