Join Me and Sarah Palin For the VICTORY 2010 RALLY In Anaheim this Saturday

by Andrew Breitbart

After Barack Obama’s historic victory in 2008, many in the Democratic Party and on the political left argued that the GOP and the conservative movement were finished and that Democrats were destined to control, in perpetuity, the presidency, Congress, and culture, writ large. But then something unexpected happened–millions of sleepwalking, mall-shopping Americans finally woke up.

The activist left, which denigrated the previous president in a merciless fashion, took the reins of power with reckless abandon and shoved its brand of poisonous hope and change down the throats of the American people. So we the people, the reawakening silent majority, responded in the form of a grassroots movement that is turning into a juggernaut set to roll past November 2nd and become something transcendent and long-lasting. Our Founding Fathers would be proud that we have rediscovered the spirit and the essence of their ideas.

While the Tea Party has not been specifically partisan–many Republican carcasses lie in its rubble–this conservative and constitutional checks and balances has created a rejuvenated GOP, chastened and wiser.

This weekend I have the honor of sharing the stage with one of the Tea Party’s and Republican Party’s fearless leaders, Sarah Palin. Since her arrival on the national stage, the Democratic Party has recognized her potential as a political powerhouse and has worked in tandem with its partners in crime, the mainstream media, to wage an unprecedented personal campaign against her and her family. The Tea Party can relate.

But the power of Alinsky and the politics of personal destruction vis a vis the Democrat Media Complex has reverse effects when the object of the hate bravely stands up to the bullies and thugs. The Tea Party and Sarah Palin have given America a great lesson in standing up to the bullies who have co-opted the Democratic Party and the American media. (more…)

Tea for the Tambourine Man

Suzanne Fields in the Washington Times:

Punditry and wonkery are great fun, and occasionally get things right, but a man named Jonathan Kahn actually represents something new for conservatives to sing about. He’s on his way to becoming an authentic hip-pop culture hero.

When he made the front page of the Wall Street Journal, it looked like the journal of high finance had been smoking something from the ’60s. Why would a guitar-plucking singer from Hollywood who wears sunglasses, a baseball cap and a fashionably scruffy beard that begs for soap and a razor be news? But you quickly learn that he’s not a throwback, but a leap forward. His lyrics to “American Heart’” appeal to patriotic derring-do:

Go on, raise the flag

I got staaaarrrs in my eyes.”

It’s Tea Party time from Searchlight, Nev., to Music Row in Nashville.

Friday Free For All: American Heart Edition

by Publius

This week, Big Hollywood and Big Government contributor “Jon David” was profiled in the Wall Street Journal. The acclaimed Hollywood screenwriter and musician has written a song, American Heart, that has been called by many the “tea party anthem.” While many have been touched by the song, most were not aware of what, to us, is the most interesting part of the song’s pedigree; Jon David is a pseudonym. “Jon David” works in Hollywood, after all, where differing points of view are not tolerated. In the WSJ profile, “Jon David” ‘burned his boats’ and outed himself as a Hollywood conservative whose real name is Jon Kahn. Unlike most of us, Jon Kahn has risked his career by simply admitting he’s a conservative. In the United States. In 2010. He may lose some Hollywood “friends”, but we will always have his back.

WSJ Profile: Out of the Conservative Closet — Jon David is… Jonathan Kahn

by John Nolte

Most of you know Jon David from his famous Big Hollywood “My Date With a Liberal” series that debuted not long after the site launched. After the Tea Party movement caught fire, so did Jon’s “American Heart,” which also had its premiere right here.

My congratulations to our friend Mr. Kahn who set an example for all of us with his willingness to throw off those shades and fight the good fight. There are right-of-center “sleeper agents” like Jon all over Hollywood. He is not alone. And when others throw off the shades and declare themselves the movement to reclaim a piece of the Hollywood/pop culture pie for pro-American and pro-liberty ideas and ideals can only grow stronger.

Jon is proof that you are not alone. It’s time to activate yourselves. Join the fight.

Or, as Robert Davi memorably put it, “After all we’re only talking about saving our country.”

The Wall Street Journal:

Jonathan Kahn normally lives and works in Hollywood, where he writes screenplays and pop songs. But for the last year or so he’s been living a double life – as a singer on the Tea Party circuit named Jon David. Now he’s decided to go public. …. (more…)

Jon David’s ‘American Heart’

by Andrew Breitbart

If I had the ability to write a song that captured the spirit of the Tea Party movement and my love of this country, it would be Jon David’s “American Heart.”

That’s why I’ve been asking Jon to play it at Tea Parties.  I’ve seen and heard the reaction to this song in Quincy, Nashville, Nevada, and soon DC on April 15.  The story behind the writing of “American Heart” is also a great example of how pride and creativity can flourish in the contorted face of left wing hate and misguided patriotism.

And that’s why I’m asking you to Tweet, Facebook, and email “American Heart” to whomever you can. This should be our anthem.

I’m American made. I’ve got American parts. I’ve got American faith in America’s heart.

Go on raise the flag. I’ve got stars in my eyes. I’m in love with Her and I won’t apologize.

ObamaHair

On October 12, 2008, then Presidential candidate Barack Obama made a campaign stop in a quiet suburban neighborhood in Toledo, Ohio. What was supposed to be an uneventful run of the mill “Grip and Grin,” turned into something quite the contrary.  Our future President and the world were introduced to Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher: a proud American who unwittingly became the symbol of the “every man” trying to escape the far reaching arm of Big Government.

Joe the Plumber….a great American….A great bald American.  I do not come from a critical place when I mention the state of Joe’s hair, or the lack thereof. In fact, despite the flowing mane of the anonymous avatar under which I post here today, I too, am a follicly challenged American….but not for long.

And this is where the press and the world missed the real story behind that fateful exchange in October of 2008.

As are most Americans, I am closely monitoring the status of S.1796 – America’s Healthy Future Act of 2009.  When it comes to Healthcare everybody has a different horse in the race. For example, we have all heard the concerns that a government run healthcare system would potentially “Kill Grandma.” Now this is a legitimate beef, but being that my grandmothers are currently not alive, this is not at the forefront of my concerns. However, what did occur to me was that in the growing chorus of objections to the bill, nobody seemed to be concerned about “Grandpa.”  Why? Why was Grandpa never mentioned? How come nobody was talking about killing him? Why does he get to live?

Just Act: A Response to Will Ferrell

by Jon David Kahn
Recently I had a conversation with Big Government contributor Maura Flynn in which we discussed the gravity of the health care crisis in this country. We didn’t necessarily agree on every issue. But what  became clear, was that we became soberly aware of what we didn’t know.  What resulted from this conversation is the 60 second video below.. Please remove your partisan hat, and take a moment to view this. It’s important….for all of us.
Written & Directed by Jon David, Produced by Maura Flynn, Edited by Andrew Marcus
