Jesse Jackson Slanders Memory of Martin Luther King with #OWS Comparison

by Jeff Dunetz

You’ve gotta feel sorry for Jesse Jackson; his time is so far gone, people don’t even remember when his time was. He reminds me a little of Willie Mays playing for the Mets in 1973–the best all-round baseball player who ever graced a baseball diamond, looking like a minor league-er, an all-time great who hung around one season too long.

Jackson is a civil rights leader desperately looking for a following to reclaim the good old days, but in his feebleness, he lives in yesterday and doesn’t quite “get” today, nor does he realize he should have hung it up after he threatened Obama’s private parts during the 2008 campaign.

Over the weekend, this shell of a leader went to help the Occupy Atlanta protest and explained his presence by slandering his friend, mentor, and the man whose dying blood he smeared all over his sweater, the late Reverend Martin Luther King Jr.

About 60 people gathered around Jackson as he told them their movement was an extension of the last movement organized by the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., the Poor People’s Movement.

“It’s not the size of the crowd, it’s the substance of the discussion,” that is important, he told them.

In an interview, Jackson said the protesters were voicing dissatisfaction with banks, with government policies that favor the rich, with Washington gridlock and lack of action to help average Americans.

“This is the cup running over,” he said. “People can’t take it anymore.”

A extension of  Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.??? Give me a break!! (more…)

Gay Ex-Staffer Files Sexual Harassment Suit Against Rev. Jesse Jackson

by Publius

From TPM:

A former staffer for Rev. Jesse Jackson and his non-profit Rainbow PUSH Coalition alleges in a lawsuit that he was discriminated against because he is gay, allegedly instructed to bring women to Jackson’s hotel rooms and sometimes sexually harassed by Jackson himself.

Tommy Bennett, who filed a sexual discrimination complaint with the Illinois Department of Human Rights in 2010, filed a lawsuit alleging “pervasive” sexual harassment during his time as a staffer at Rainbow PUSH, a social outreach group started by Reverend Jesse Jackson, Sr.

Bennett worked for Rainbow PUSH and Jackson from July 2007-December 2009, beginning as National Director of Community Affairs, according to the complaint.

The Modern Face of Black on Black Crime

by Lisa Fritsch

Jesse Jackson, Andre Carson, Maxine Waters and Walter Fauntroy are the new face of “black-on-black crime.”

The term black-on-black crime was coined in the eighties to publicize shockingly disproportionate amounts of violent crimes perpetrated within the black community.  Now, instead of Bloods and Crips, the new gang threatening black neighborhoods can be called the “Elite Liberal Libelers.”  With political power and acceptance, the ELL holds an even tighter grip on black America’s throat.

The ELL’s rhetorical drive-by shooting style wounds the spirit and kills hope and the notion that blacks can find equality and prosperity by their own toil and purpose. These assaults on character and intelligence, unfortunately, come from within the trusted and intimate quarters of recognized black leaders.

The ELL demands acceptance of life at the bottom, handicapping potential growth and progress., and has no scruples finding a scapegoat or excuse.  Like the neighborhood drug dealer, they figure someone will make the money off poor kids.  May as well be by one of their own.

And words can be deadlier than bullets.  Whereas a bullet only claims a single victim, the reach of words is infinite — infiltrating countless souls and minds. Such ill-will can also have generational consequences — undermining core beliefs and self-worth.  Fatalism and despondency roll off ELL tongues from a poisonous well of lies, self destruction and defeat that’s deadlier than crack cocaine.

Consider ELL attacks on the tea parties:

ACORN, Soros-tied D.C. Official Admits Apparent Voter Fraud

by Matthew Vadum

Only a week into the job, Washington, D.C. mayor Vincent Gray’s deputy chief of staff resigned from her position after admitting she committed what appears to constitute voter fraud. The resignation of Andrea “Andi” Pringle comes as several U.S. states initiate a much-needed crackdown on rampant electoral fraud.

Pringle acknowledged she voted in the September 2010 primary election in the District of Columbia even though she was residing at that time in Montgomery County, Maryland. The county abuts the District. In her resignation letter Pringle said she was quitting because she had “become a distraction from the important work of” Gray’s administration, the Washington Times reports.

Andrea Pringle (photo by Alan Suderman, Washington City Paper)

Like Mayor Gray, Pringle is a Democrat. She was campaign manager for former Sen. Carol Moseley Braun (D-Ill.) when she ran for president in 2004. Barack Obama helped to elect Braun to the U.S. Senate in 1992 when he ran a successful get-out-the-vote effort for ACORN unit Project Vote.

Pringle worked on both of Jesse Jackson’s presidential campaigns and for his group called the National Rainbow Coalition.

Obama War Room: Debt Deal Postmortem

by Steve Grammatico

BILL DALEY:  The delegation is here, sir.

OBAMA:  All right.  Bring them in.  Let’s get this over with.

[enter Clintons, DNC Chair, Reid, Pelosi, Pollster John Zogby, Jesse Jackson, George Soros]

WASSERMAN SCHULTZ:  John, tell the President what you told us.

ZOGBY:  The debt-ceiling deal hasn’t helped you, sir.  We’ve just completed a telephone survey of 1000 people.  10% said they would hold their noses and vote to reelect you; 10% complained the aides were mean, the kids never visited, and the home smelled like disinfectant; and 80% vowed to vote for your opponent, whoever he is.

OBAMA:  Bad, yes, but there’s still time to  . . . .

NANCY PELOSI:  Tell him the rest, John.

ZOGBY:  The survey was limited to Democrats in Ms. Pelosi’s district, sir.  Of those who swear you won’t get their vote, 40% say they plan to register and cast ballots in neighboring districts as well.

PELOSI:  Obviously, they’re good Democrats, sir.  They’ve simply had it with you.

OBAMA:  So, you want me to stand down in 2012 for . . . Hillary?

WASSERMAN SCHULTZ:  God no, sir.  It’d look like we pushed you out.  Poof goes the black vote.  We want you to run but . . . welcome her primary challenge.

VALERIE JARRETT:  Ah, I get it.  He’s supposed to lose gracefully, then stump for Hillary next fall in places like Harlem, Watts, and Liberty City, where his approval rating is holding steady at 97%.  I’d pass, sir.

HILLARY:  Way I look at it, Mr. President, Billy Jeff here broke trail for you in the 90s.  “First Black President,” and all.  You owe us.

Who We Talked with at The One Nation Working Together Rally: Rangel, Sharpton, Jackson, and Neil Young(?!?)

by Reason TV

Reason.tv reports from the “One Nation” rally for “Jobs, Justice, and Education” on Saturday, October 2 in Washington, D.C. The event was organized by the NAACP, the AFL-CIO, the American Federation of Teachers, the Service Employees International Union, and other progressive outfits.
Reason’s Nick Gillespie talked with Rep. Charles Rangel, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, the AFT’s Randi Weingarten, MSNBC’s Ed Schultz, comedian-activist Dick Gregory, Electronic Frontier Foundation co-founder Mitch Kapor, and other luminaries (including somebody who looked a helluva lot like Neil Young).

Video Proof: The NAACP Awards Racism–2010

by Andrew Breitbart

Correction: While Ms. Sherrod made the remarks captured in the first video featured in this post while she held a federally appointed position, the story she tells refers to actions she took before she held that federal position.

***

Context is everything.

In this piece you will see video evidence of racism coming from a federal appointee and NAACP award recipient and in another clip from the same event a perfect rationalization for why the Tea Party needs to exist.

race_card

But first the context:

For the past week, Americans who consider themselves aligned with the Tea Party movement have suffered the indignity of being falsely labeled racist by the NAACP and their pro-bono publicity managers, the main stream media. The constant calls to “repudiate the racists from your ranks” have not only been insulting, but have also served to force a false standard upon America’s fastest-growing and most vibrant political movement that no other group could ever live up to nor would ever be asked to live up to.

While the media has chosen to do the Democratic Party’s bidding in allowing for the NAACP to negatively and falsely brand the millions strong, loosely affiliated tea party phenomenon as “racist”, the moral indignation over race and racism has taken center stage in a summer of economic and political discontent.

The NAACP, an undeniable weapon in the Democratic Party’s arsenal, was more than happy to exploit this nation’s sensitive racial schism for possible political gain. The Democratic Party and the NAACP, needless to say, are playing with fire.

From the beginning of the Tea Party movement, the Left, its aiders and abettors at MSNBC, the NY Times and other reliable left of center propaganda venues, raised race as the driving force behind the movement, even though the evidence was never there. MSNBC even egregiously cut off a black protester’s head in a photograph of a man carrying a gun to a rally in order to discuss that anti-black racism was rearing its head in America.

Jesse ‘Hymietown’ Jackson Throws The R-Bomb At Cav’s Owner Dan Gilbert

by Andrew Marcus

lebron-james

Jesse ‘Jacko’ Jackson is accusing Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert of behaving like a slave master.

“He speaks as an owner of LeBron and not the owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers,” the reverend said in a release from his Chicago-based civil rights group, the Rainbow PUSH Coalition. “His feelings of betrayal personify a slave master mentality. He sees LeBron as a runaway slave.

Jacko is responding to an open letter Gilbert wrote to Cleavland fans in response to learning his star basketball player will departing for Miami. Here are some excerpts of that letter, which is available in full here.

…. You simply don’t deserve this kind of cowardly betrayal.

….This shocking act of disloyalty from our home grown “chosen one” sends the exact opposite lesson of what we would want our children to learn. And “who” we would want them to grow-up to become.

It might be a poor business decision to write such a letter. You might even fairly characterize Gilbert of being a poor sport, but is there any evidence at all whatsoever that Cleveleand Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert is a racist? Has he ever purposefully insulted/attacked/or otherwise denigrated anyone based on their race? If Gilbert is some kind of Marge Schott of basketball, he should be outed.

President Obama Deeply Connected To Organizers Of Recent Angry Street Mob Actions

by Andrew Marcus

President Barack Obama and his administration, is shamefully deeply connected to the people and organizations that recently organized street mob protests, terrifying a teenage child in his own home, and storming bank buildings (violating how many Federal laws?) in a show of uncivil disobedience (intimidation).

http://biggovernment.com/files/2010/05/seiu-MOB.jpg

Previous posts detail the intimate connections between the President, and “Showdown in America” protest organizers SEIU and National People’s Action (NPA)

Digging a little deeper reveals some additional disturbing connections between President Obama, and other organizers of these mob actions. These connections might be of interest to any reporters who claim the White House as their beat.

Another key organizing force behind the “Showdown in America” is a group called Americans For Financial Reform. This group is headed by former SDS radical and proud Alinsky protege, Heather Tobis Booth.

Heather Tobis Booth is the founder of a group called USAction.

USAction used to be called Citizen Action, until the illegal behavior of  Rep. Jan Shakowsky’s husband, ex-con Bob Creamer (Obama Campaign Organizer), combined with the notorious “Teamstergate” scandal, forced the organization to collapse it’s national brand into a newly named entity. (This collapse and restructuring is the role model for ACORN’s transition today.)

In the video below, the president of USAction and Chair of Illinois Citizen Action, William McNary, openly glorifies and embraces a working relationship with the Communist Party of America (CPUSA).

The Left: Bending Over Backwards to Excuse Racism

by Warner Todd Huston

In the book Game Change penned by John Heilemann and Mark Halprin, Harry Reid is quoted as saying that people supported Obama because he was “light skinned,” and because he exhibited no “Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one.” This implies that Reid thinks dark skinned Negroes cannot win election. Since then the left has circled the wagons and refused to treat Reid as they’ve treated Republicans in similar instances. It’s an obvious double standard.

Beer-Summit-09

Now, we can look to no better authority on purported racism than The Root Magazine, an Internet publication founded in 2008 by Henry Louis Gates, Jr. (he of Beer Summit fame) which is published by the Washington Post. Gates’ online magazine pretty much proves that this double standard is alive and well by its treatment of two situations of obvious racist sentiment from the left. Gate’s magazine summarily rejects the accusations of racism by these lefties.

First up we look at a post by Root writer Omar Wasow who proclaimed Harry Reid in the rights for his comments as reported by Game Change. Wasow wonders what the big deal is with Reid’s comments? He says it is true that white people will vote for a light skinned black over a dark skinned one and that it was true that Obama only utilized a black vernacular “when he wanted to.” Interestingly, Wasow saw nothing wrong with Obama shifting from proper English to black vernacular at will. Wasow said that just made Obama a good politician. He obviously doesn’t see this as a cynical political ploy at all.

The Left Continues to Break: More Cracks in Net Neutrality Front

by Capitol Confidential

With the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) set to make a decision on proposed net neutrality rules later this year, the fight between supporters of the controversial policy and its opponents continues to heat up.

a_series_of_tubes

Yesterday, a group of minority and women’s organizations reportedly called on the FCC to give serious consideration to the impact that net neutrality could have on what has been termed the “digital divide”—the widening of which, opponents argue, constitutes a potential unintended consequence of the policy, and one which has become a primary focal point of net neutrality critics’ concern.  In a letter and a proposal to the FCC, the groups—which include minority organizations that have previously spoken out regarding the net neutrality issue such as the Asian American Justice Center—have asked for a field hearing and workshop addressing the topic.

ACORN Whitewash: ACORN Report Is Dishonest Legal Hair-Splitting

by Matthew Vadum

I participated in listen-only mode in the teleconference call Monday in which ACORN’s allegedly independent “audit” was released.

I regret it was difficult to make out what the players were saying.

That’s because as the left ferociously circled the wagons, all the creaking wheel noises in the background drowned out much of what was said.

Scott_Harshbarger

Scott Harshbarger, ACORN ally and former attorney general of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts

One the main points that ACORN ally and former Massachusetts Attorney General Scott Harshbarger and ACORN CEO/chief organizer Bertha Lewis were trying to make was that ACORN, i.e. the lead entity that controls the ACORN network, and ACORN Housing, are separate entities.

Because ACORN Housing and ACORN are different organizations neither is responsible for the other, they argued. In other words, ACORN is not responsible for ACORN Housing employees caught on video encouraging illegal behavior, and vice versa, they reasoned.

Harshbarger said on the conference call

Citigroup Executive Pulls Out of Sham ACORN Audit Under Pressure

by Matthew Vadum

Citigroup executive Eric Eve (pictured below) has resigned from ACORN’s phony, allegedly independent panel of inquiry, a move that removes one of the few people on the panel who could even remotely claim to actually be independent.

If you read between the lines, it also seems to mean Citigroup agrees the panel is a sham.

Eve, senior vice president of Global Consumer Group, Community Relations, at Citigroup, quit after the National Legal and Policy Center pressed Citigroup CEO Vikram Pandit to cut ties with ACORN.

In a letter to NLPC president Peter Flaherty, Citigroup announced Eve’s resignation from the panel.

“We too are deeply concerned about the recent media reports regarding ACORN and, because of those reports, have suspended our charitable financial support and program relationships with ACORN, and we are awaiting the results of the independent audit of ACORN activities now underway,” wrote Natalie Abatemarco, Citigroup’s vice president, Global Community Relations.

“On a related topic, please be advised that Eric Eve has resigned his position on the ACORN Advisory Council,” she added.

Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) Thanks Iran For Its Support

by Frank Gaffney

This Saturday, the Council on American Islamic Relations will hold its 15th Annual fundraiser in Arlington, Virginia.  Last year, our investigative teams went undercover to the November 23, 2008 CAIR 14th Annual Banquet fundraiser, and secretly videotaped the proceedings.  They were there to videotape the moment when Nihad Awad, Executive Director of CAIR, was served court papers for a civil suit for fraud, now on appeal.  But to their surprise, our team discovered that  six of the tables at the fundraiser were identified with signs for foreign embassies officially attending the event: the embassies of Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar.  Those same embassies were listed in the CAIR 14th Annual Banquet’s printed program (see below) in a section titled  “Thanks To: ” on page 20, which appears to give credit to supporters for the fundraiser.

The Mau-Mauing of Rush

by Mike Flynn

Rush took to the pages of the Wall Street Journal to address the mau-mauing that scuttled his NFL dreams. Personally, I’m a little mystified why Rush would want to own part of a football team. Oversized, preening and pampered athletes set in strictly defined roles and running elaborately orchestrated “plays” designed by a full bureaucracy of coaches seems, frankly, I dunno…unAmerican.  Quite unlike the other football, where there are no plays, few coaches and wide latitude for individual initiative and improvisation. (How did we get stuck with the collectivist top-down heavy sport?) But, to each his own.

rush_limbaugh_operation_chaos_cigar1

Of course the NFL is a private institution which can invite–or deny–whomever they’d like to join their owners’ club. But the manner in which Rush was sidelined is, at best, distasteful and definitely more than a little troubling. Alas, it was also utterly predictable. To wit:

Shortly thereafter, the media elicited comments from the likes of Al Sharpton. In 1998 Mr. Sharpton was found guilty of defamation and ordered to pay $65,000 for falsely accusing a New York prosecutor of rape in the 1987 Tawana Brawley case. He also played a leading role in the 1991 Crown Heights riot (he called neighborhood Jews “diamond merchants”) and 1995 Freddie’s Fashion Mart riot.

Not to be outdone, Jesse Jackson, whose history includes anti-Semitic speech (in 1984 he referred to Jews as “Hymies” and to New York City as “Hymietown” in a Washington Post interview) chimed in. He found me unfit to be associated with the NFL. I was too divisive and worse.

Rev. Jackson to the rescue of Obamacare

by Doug O'Brien

We can all be grateful that the Rev. Jesse Jackson has taken time away from his primary job of extorting money from corporate America fearful of his histrionic accusations of racism to cut through the rhetorical clutter and get to the bottom of the health care debate in a recent column in the Chicago Sun-Times.

Unfortunately, just like the president, Jackson is misrepresenting facts across the board and, also like the president, possesses little grasp of the fundamentals of health care economics.

jessebarry

Before itemizing the good Reverend’s errors and outright fabrications, it bears noting that, along with every other Obamacare apologist, Jackson starts by launching ad hominem attacks on those who have contrary opinions about the best way to reform health care.  He praises the president for calling opponents “fear-mongers” but asserts that daring to call Obamacare a “government takeover of health care” reduces the debate to childishness.  As countless commentators have noted, and as the American people are realizing, this administration and its allies couch no dissent and will vilify and personally denigrate anyone who opposes its policies.  This arrogance has been the most effective weapon available to slow the descent towards socialized health care.

Rev. Jackson says it is a “stark reality” that we already have “a government-run, single payer health care plan,” known as Medicare.  This is flat out incorrect.  A single payer system means that all, or nearly all, care is paid for by a government entity.  It is also known as a “universal” system, meaning it covers everyone.  Medicare covers only those over 65 and with permanent disability.  It also does not preclude beneficiaries from purchasing care outside of the Medicare system.  One fact that has been little mentioned by liberal champions of the Medicare model is that millions of seniors dig into their pockets each month to pay premiums for Medicare supplemental insurance that covers additional services and out-of-pocket costs that Medicare does not cover.  As it exists, Medicare is far short of a single payer system since beneficiaries can and do contract for additional coverage and can also go outside the Medicare system at any time and pay cash for any service they desire.
