Transparency: Burton, Depp Not in White House Visitor Log

The White House is under fire for reportedly trying to downplay the role that two Hollywood stars played at a 2009 Halloween party, with press secretary Jay Carney today calling the media’s reporting on the incident “irresponsible” and denying reports of an attempted cover-up. But no record of the two stars, Johnny Depp and Tim Burton, appears in the official White House visitors logs.

An administration source said that entertainers are generally not recorded in the visitors logs. ”Entertainers and production crews who are working events are generally not WAVED in since they are not guests visiting the White House, they are working,” the official said.

#OccupyWallSt to Occupy Halloween

NEW YORK (AP) – Dressed as protesters, complete with toy megaphone, Mitch Robinson and his wife unrolled a sleeping bag and “occupied” their friends’ Halloween party. Unlike the real-life Occupy Wall Street demonstrators, they had a detailed, numbered list of demands for their hosts.

Among them: Equal time on the karaoke machine, more meat on the grill and extra alcohol in the drinks.

So went the party in Tacoma, Washington, last Saturday night—Robinson in jeans, flannel shirt and a “Live Free or Die” cap and wife Mary Boone in beret, baggy sweater and a “Peace, Love Bieber” button.

“We were a big hit,” said Robinson, 48, a marketing executive. “We tried to incite the other partygoers. Plus I loved that basically what I wore was perfect for raking leaves the next day.”

Last month the food police sued a North Carolina man for growing fresh vegetables, and this month San Francisco’s food cops have committed a different kind of atrocity by making the City by the Bay the first major metropolis to ban toys in happy meals.

This month’s top busybody is the pol who sponsored the ordinance to make happy meals sad, the one who hopes his “food justice” agenda goes nationwide.
