AP reported last week -

“TROY, N.Y. — A Troy Democratic councilman in Troy and the Democratic elections commissioner for Rensselaer County face charges that they forged absentee ballots in a Working Families Party primary in 2009. A county grand jury has accused Councilman Michael LoPorto and Commissioner Edward G. McDonough of participating in a scheme in which dozens of bogus absentee ballots were submitted in the names of unsuspecting Troy residents.LoPorto and McDonough were arraigned Friday and are now free on bail. Special Prosecutor Trey Smith began investigating after the Times Union, of Albany, interviewed a number of people who were surprised to learn that their names had appeared on ballot applications.”

The two men pleaded not guilty Friday to a combined 116 felony counts alleging they falsified dozens of  absentee ballots.  The ballots not only involve clearly forged signatures, but also, falsifying excuses for not being present to vote  and registering individuals who no longer live in the area. In some cases a false promise of a trip to a Las Vegas casino was used as an inducement to fill out absentee applications. WFP leaders and their Democratic allies have no qualms about forging absentees to keep control of their political arm.

The WFP has been proven to be nothing more than a front for ACORN and its left-ward agenda.

WFP is used by ACORN as a sledge hammer to force Democrats to toe the Union line .  WFP was founded by key members of ACORN, and shares many of its political strategies.The WFP has listed ACORN as an affiliate program directly on their Web site.

Karen Scharff, co-chair of the Capital District WFP is a key link between ACORN and their WFP front. Scharff was instrumental in using WFP money in the Democratic primary to elect Albany County District Attoney David Soares, who has jurisdiction over the activities of the WFP and ACORN. When this expenditure was challenged in court as illegal, New York Attorney General Eliot Spitzer declined to defend the state law prohibiting cross party funding in party primaries. Spitzer subsequently got the early WFP endorsement for Governor and Soares declined to prosecute Spitzer in the Troopergate matter in which Spitzer used state resources to spy on Senate Republican leaders.

Former ACORN boss Bertha Lewis also serves as co-chair for the WFP. ACORN associate Dan Cantor  is another key link. Cantor also serves as Executive Director of the WFP. Cantor is the great great grandson of Vaudeville and radio star Eddie Cantor. The New York Times  reported that Patrick Gaspard, the  former White House political director, worked with ACORN in New York to set up the Working Families political party and sat on the party’s board. Gaspard was bounced as White House political director after the disasterous mid-term elelctions but moved over to serve as executive director of  the Democratic National Committee’s day-to-day operations .Gaspard will oversee Organizing for America, a project of the Democrats to rally support for the Obama agenda.

If you have any doubt that ACORN and it’s political party will engage in voter fraud to keep Obama in the White House you can stop wondering.

Voter fraud is rampant. Nevada voting machines are automatically registering votes for Harry Reid, no matter who you vote for. And who are the voting machine technicians? Members of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), which donated $500,000 to the Patriot Majority PAC, which in turn has spent $1.3 million to destroy Sharron Angle — who is running against Reid.

In Craven County, North Carolina, a man voted the straight Republican ticket, only to see the machine register his votes as if he had voted straight Democrat.

In Chicago, thousands of votes submitted through the new vote-by-mail system may not be counted. In Daytona Beach, Florida, City Commissioner Derrick Henry was arrested last week for absentee ballot fraud during his re-election campaign earlier this year.

In southeastern Pennsylvania’s 8th district, according to Thomas A. Shakely in National Review, voters “were receiving notices warning that their right to vote could be in jeopardy if they did not return an absentee ballot to the ‘Pennsylvania Voter Assistance Office,’ a fictitious agency headquartered at a post office box. The letters…were underwritten by the Pennsylvania Democratic State Committee.”

This comes on top of the sharp increase in Democrat absentee ballot requests in Pennsylvania in 2008 — probably because they threw away non-Democrat requests. This tactic resembles incidents in Texas and Arizona. And in Harris County, Texas, a former SEIU member registered 23,207 fraudulent voters. There are rampant incidents of voter intimidation being documented in Harris County.

Americans, be prepared: the same thing could occur in your town, at your polling place, on November 2.

It is not enough to win Tuesday. We must win big, by a landslide. There is more evidence than just what is above that the Democrats appear to be trying to steal the election. They have had plenty of practice — ask Al Franken. The ghost vote used to account for maybe six to eight percent of the vote. There is no telling where that number is now, with organizations like ACORN and SEIU gaming the system for years.

When Democrat House Speaker Nancy Pelosi speaks confidently of keeping her leadership position, it’s not because she is crazy. It’s because she knows something we don’t know. Do not underestimate the moochers and the looters. They appear to be willing to do anything to hold on to the reins of power – even crossing the line of illegality.

Consider this: our soldiers are being denied their right to vote while they lay down their lives for us in the bloody war waged by the Islamic jihad, but the votes of felons and convicts count — as do the those of the homeless (whose benches are registered as their homes). But not our soldiers. And the Democrats do this every election.

It’s hard to feel anything but contempt for Barack Obama. Notice the uptick: his rhetoric in recent days has been increasingly radical. Judging from the tone of his recent public statements, Obama seems to think he’s back in some Third World country where banana republic dictators steamroll over the little people and the fat cat corruptocrats rule.

Not so fast, buddy.

What ever happened to the rule of law? Who is investigating these allegations of voter fraud now? Is there no one protecting and preserving the Republic? We have lain down too long. This is a call to action — that means you and your loved ones. Ask yourself: what have I done today to save the Republic? Volunteer at the polls, volunteer for a candidate, volunteer to drive an elderly or infirm neighbor to the polls. Do something, anything.

If something is not done in these rampant incidents of Democrat voter fraud, millions should march on Washington. They can’t steal the country. They must not be allowed to steal it. We must not let these thieves, carpetbaggers, thugs, moochers and looters keep control over America — they will have to go through us first.

Daytona Beach City Commissioner Derrick Henry and his campaign manager, Genesis Robinson, were arrested Wednesday, charged with committing absentee ballot fraud during Henry’s 2010 re-election campaign, the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office said.

The arrest of Henry and Robinson comes a little more than two months after Volusia County Supervisor of Elections Ann McFall requested an investigation into irregularities in absentee ballot requests coming into her office. McFall brought her concerns to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office in August, prompting the Sheriff’s Office and the State Attorney’s Office to immediately launch a joint investigation that ultimately led to the filing of a dozen felony charges against Henry and Robinson.

The investigation revealed that Henry and Robinson devised a strategy to boost Henry’s re-election bid by obtaining absentee ballots for numerous people, most of whom never requested the ballots. By law, residents are only allowed to request absentee ballots for themselves, immediate family members or for someone for whom they’re acting as legal guardian.

McFall filed the complaint in August after her office received a large number of requests for absentee ballots that were all sent from the same e-mail address. Based on the e-mail address, it appeared that the requests came from someone with an interest in the Daytona Beach City Commission Zone 5 race. Henry, the Zone 5 incumbent who was locked in a three-way primary race, was re-elected on Aug. 24.

The investigation revealed that between Henry and Robinson, they had requested a total of 92 absentee ballots through the elections office’s web site. Four of the absentee ballots were found at Henry’s house when investigators searched it in September. Investigators also recovered absentee ballot applications and receipts for some of the absentee ballots along with handbooks outlining Florida election laws.

Five Wisconsin residents have been charged with criminal counts of voter fraud in the November 2008 general election, state Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen announced Monday.

Two of those charged – Maria Miles, 36, of Milwaukee, and Kevin Clancy, 26, of Racine – worked for the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN), the embattled community organizing group.

“The complaint alleges that Miles and Clancy submitted multiple voter registration applications for the same individuals, and also were part of a scheme in which they and other (special registration deputies) registered each other to vote multiple times in order to meet voter registration quotas imposed by ACORN,” the Van Hollen news release says.

Both were charged with one felony count.

ACORN could not be reached for comment Monday.

Also charged were a couple – Herbert Gunka, 60, and Suzanne Gunka, 54, both of Milwaukee – for supposedly double voting in November 2008, once absentee and once at the polls.

Michael Henderson, 40, was charged with two felony counts of being a felon who cast a ballot even though he was still on probation. The Milwaukee man was convicted in 2005 in Rock County with two felonies for bail jumping and one disorderly conduct misdemeanor.

He was sentenced to five years’ probation.

A felony for voter fraud carries a maximum penalty of up to 3 1/2 years behind bars and a $10,000 fine. All five individuals are scheduled to appear in court on April 20.

The charges were brought as part of the Milwaukee Election Fraud Task Force.

Van Hollen’s announcement comes the same day that the Journal Sentinel disclosed that a Milwaukee County prosecutor was accusing Milwaukee police of failing to investigate these cases for the first half of last year.

The first sign is a straight-up dirty trick. Daggett’s run for office is certainly convenient for Corzine, as he will help split any anti-Corzine vote. And, as a Corzine political appointee, one wonders if his candidacy wasn’t a set up to begin with. Now, in the final days of the campaign, it appears state democrats are paying for robo calls supporting Independent Chris Daggett. First reported here, the robo calls attack Christie (but not Corzine) and promote Daggett. At the end of the call, it is mentioned that the calls are paid for by a “project of the NJSDC.” No idea what that acronym stands for, but New Jersey State Democratic Committee, isn’t too big of a stretch. More interesting is the fact that the return number on the calls is the same number that was used to promote Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley’s election in closing days of the 2006 race.

More telling that the fix is in, however, is the sudden appearance of ACORN on the scene. Not by name, mind you, as their reputation is so tarnished that even New Jersey Democrats don’t want to be associated with them. No, in New Jersey ACORN sought cover behind its big brother, SEIU, specifically SEIU Local 32BJ.

The political director for the SEIU local is Peter Colavito. Just last year, he was ACORN’s political director in New York, working directly under Bertha Lewis, ACORN’s CEO and co-chair of ACORN-backed Working Families Party. He was, and remains, a top official and board member of the Working Families Party in New York. In fact, his wife is currently an employee of the Working Families Party. Corzine has made much of his endorsement by the SEIU local, failing to mention the union’s deep ties to both ACORN and its Working Families Party in New York.

These ties are starting to appear, however. GOP officials recently received a phone tip from a hospital in Newark, reporting that people in ACORN t-shirts were in the facility signing up and collecting absentee ballots. New Jersey law allows anyone to take up to 10 absentee ballots at a time. The tipster reported seeing individuals in the ACORN shirts entering the hospital with blank absentee ballots and leaving with completed ballots.

There are reports out of Camden, New Jersey that voters are discovering that absentee ballots have already been submitted under their name. They did not authorize these ballots. Early reports suggested that the number of absentee ballots ‘requested’ in Camden city is higher than in any previous election. This will no doubt spark confusion on election day.

Possibly anticipating this confusion, the state Democratic Committee recently sent a letter to the Secretary of State, arguing that any absentee ballot that is rejected should still be counted as a “provisional” vote. The letter complained that almost 3,000 absentee ballots had already been rejected “solely on the basis of a comparison of their signature to the signature on record.” Solely? If the signature of the voter doesn’t match the signature on the ballot, is there really a reason to look at anything else? The letter from the state Democrats suggests that election officials should simply verify that the address on the absentee ballot matches the address on record. Right, and my bank should go ahead and cash any suspicious check as long as the address on the check matches my home address.

The best hope here is that Christie wins by enough of a margin that these dirty tricks are moot. As they say in sports, put enough points on the board and the refs can’t steal it from you.
