Census Bureau Coordinator Running for Political Office While on the Job
by Stephen Robert MorseRafael Dominguez, a New York-based regional partnership coordinator for the US Census Bureau since early 2008 has filed a petition to run as a Democrat for Assemblyman for New York’s 82nd District. Yet, as Census Bureau Associate Director Steve Jost recently commented on a MyTwoCensus.com post, the Hatch Act, “prohibits federal employees from engaging in partisan political activities while on duty.”
The problem is not that Mr. Dominguez is running for office, the problem is that he is running for office while an employee of the federal government and campaigning on the Census Bureau/taxpayer’s dime. MyTwoCensus.com has also learned that other Census Bureau employees who are underlings of Mr. Dominguez have been performing campaign activities while on official Census Bureau duty. These employees include other partnership assistants in the New York area: Ed LaFranco and Adrian Tapia.
New Yorkers should be entitled to a partisan-free census, and Mr. Dominguez’s overt Democratic Party affiliations require the Census Bureau to fire him immediately. MyTwoCensus has subsequently learned that Mr. Dominguez used his (massive) budget for partnership materials to fund events and organizations that will benefit his political campaign.
Admittedly, it will be difficult to prove that partnership funding was diverted for specific purposes that relate to the campaign, but such activities should immediately be scrutinized and audited more thoroughly than they already are. (MyTwoCensus.com has learned that the New York Census Bureau’s partnership office is currently undergoing a major audit.)

The rules (Hatch Act) don't apply to Democrats, didn't you know that? Dig a little deeper and I bet you find he was an ACORN operative as well. Oh and perhaps any CENSUS data he has touched should be scrutinized and recounted.

I agree with Patriot2Opine…since when do rules and regulations mean anything to democrats? There are TOO MANY lawyers in Washington, writing the laws and making sure there are loopholes big enough to slide the democrats through!
What else is new. Our president and congress use taxpayer money to get elected all the time, paying off their donors with tons of govt. contracts. And our president has been campaigning on the taxpayer dime ever since he was elected. He never stops.
Stories like this are becoming common place. I'll issue a news alert the day some democrat does NOT try to foist a scheme or dream that has the US taxpayer footing the bill or paying the price in some way. Now THAT will be a story.
The Hatch Act is only intended to stop unapproved candidates from running, get with the program.

Someone just did but I get what you are saying. MSM will never report anything that may interfere in the progressive agenda. I don't read them, and I don't watch them so I don't care what they put out. Those that do are in for a very rude awakening.
There is a shift occurring today in media sourcing. Bloggers are getting attention, internet news providers, and conservative media are getting broader readership. Real news reporting like Fox News have jumped way ahead of their competition due in part to the real reporting they are doing. They are not leaving a story to ride the bench. People are going there for information because it is credible.

I saw the photo entered as (Unofficial (Validated by Democrat hierarchy)) evidence, but I didn't see any BARS in front of him!!! More proof, no one goes to jail unless approved by the "New" Democrat ("Progressive") party!!!! THE NEW LORDS OF THE LAND!!! All information, all law, all grants, all permission to move about must be cleared by them!!! This guy is a free man, he's granted immunity, he is a friendly (One of them)!!!!!!!
