by Larry O'ConnorWhile scouring the thousands of videos that exist on YouTube from the March 20th health care bill protests in Washington DC, we were able to uncover four different angles of the Cannon Office Building at the precise moment Rep. Andre Carson and Rep. John Lewis descended the steps on their way to Capitol Hill.
We have noticed that there is a mystery man positioned at the bottom of the steps of the Cannon Building with a video camera. He is in the exact position to capture the moment that Rep. Carson later described to reporters. He is dressed in a dark suit and he is wearing some kind of credential on his jacket.
Who is this guy?

Do you have a link where I can download this video? I have a program that allows me to capture any particular frame, so that I can get the best single photo of the guy (enlarged) back to you. Looked at the video on YouTube, but didn't see a "download" option.
That is just too good Larry, this guy MUST be tracked down and his video MUST be brought forward as evidence under subpoena if need be.

I gotta say, I love this site but this is ridiculous. It's awfully creepy that a person can't be somewhere and captured on video filming a video without a virtual manhunt being called to find out who they are based on how they are dressed and the color of their skin. It's Washington DC, I would venture to say that there are a great number of African Americans who wear a suit to work everyday.
Perhaps he hasn't come forward with a story because there wasn't one… are we going to require testimony from every person who was present that day or are we just going to ask the black people who are well dressed. It's not as if he was out making false claims–why hunt him down?

The best view is around the 0:28 mark. Certainly, the guy is not a TEA Partier (he's in a suit with credentials on his jacket and pulling a rather large rolling briefcase).

My best guess is that he is one of Rep. Carson's aides. He undoubtedly took off his tie so that he would not look like he belonged with the Congressmen. He then put the tie in his coat pocket, and would have taken off his coat too, except there was no way for him to conceal his coat without having one of the Congressmen carry it for him. Why he was taking pictures is a mystery. I am sure you have already noticed that in one shot of the Congressmen at the bottom of the steps there was a man who reached over and said something to (I believe it was Rep. Carson). Perhaps that individual called the Congressman: "N……", but of course that too remains a mystery.

If he is a "staffer" on a congressman's payroll then he should be fairly easy to track down through staff payroll and employee rosters for congressmen…
I know its a tedious task but the people on the steps that day have been libeled and this is "potential" criminal evidence and we need the brain room working on this one 24/7 until he is tracked down.
There are so many people who's honor and integrity have been maligned by this it is amazing and this sounds like a rock solid case if we can find him.
My guess he is an aide to the Congressman and since they believe their own BS they assumed all T partiers were racist and they would inevitably yell out something racist and the video would go all over the news. Well, it didn't happen so Carson just said it did. Next best thing.

Hey there OnCommonGround– trust me my friend, I'm in the game. I've served my country and my husband still serves. There isn't anything I wouldn't do for my country. I just don't see how picking a guy out on a video and then saying because of his dress and color that he should be hunted down to get his side of the story. It's creepy. It is just as creepy as what democrats did to Joe the Plumber.
It's not like he was photographed with an egg in his hand or pushing down a reporter–he was video taping the events of the day like hundreds of other people were. So what if he was there at the behest of the congressmen? I think we already know what the congressmembers were doing…hunting down this guy will do nothing and saying that because of the color of his skin his 'testimony' is somehow more valid to anyone is just plain racist.

You are mistaken. Rep. Carson walked to the Capitol from Cannon and gathered reporters around him to tell them what had happened whole he and Rep. Lewis were "walking down the steps at Cannon". Did you check to see if similarly dressed people were filming other sections of the walk? Perhaps they used their combined footage to figure out the best place to make a false claim – a spot with no cameras on them walking.

Would it be acceptable to you if everthing pertaining to that video was the same, however the person happened to be white? I am a former cop, and when you are combing over evidence you look for what does not fit. You call this creepy and that is your opinion and I don't fault you for that. I for one am sick and tired of being called a racist just because hypothetically the person I am dealing with happens to be a different race than me. Here is something that is interesting about the video. He seems to be smiling. Would that be occurring if he was hearing the N word 15 times. Or is this a self hating black man that enjoyes seeing a fellow man of color who happens to be a congressman being spat upon. You see when you disect this scene it IS odd and if I were investigating a crime he would be the number one person that I would be trying to locate for information.

We first see the man with the badge at 0:22, with his camera to his face, filming the CBC members at the bottom of the steps. He keeps his camera on the CBC members, completely excluding the lone white guy following up the rear. In fact, it appears that he puts his camera down completely before the white guy gets in the picture. Conclusion: He only wanted to film the black guys, and only as they came down the steps.
Patience everyone. One of two things happen. One, he is a Tea Party member with a name tag or credentials…..hmmm, or not. Two, he is the guy that was supposed to catch the racist remarks. He will be ID'ed, so we'll know soon which he is.

Alas, I downloaded the MP4 and grabbed the best looking frame I could find, but I cannot get better resolution. Bummer; hopefully, more folks will start bringing HD camcorders with them to TEA parties in the future.
Also, don't think that still cameras are useless, either. I've often found that my Canon takes more useful photos than my HD camcorder. Take lots of still shots too!
It seems obvious where the benefit lies in identifying this person. One then MIGHT be able to say, "Well, Billy Joe-Bob Jones, who happens to be an aide to Congressman Bundersnatch, was there, poised, as part of an obvious plot to either lure a Tea Partier into a racist comment, or as part of a plot to record a 'plant' who was slated to yell a racist comment near Billy Joe-Bob Jones."

My guess would be staffer. Everybody who works for government — fed, state, local — always has their ID badges hanging on them. In the 'suitcase' is probably files, paperwork, copies of tons of et al, that all lawyers/politicians always have on hand, via their staff.
Anybody see if there is video of the Reps when they took their places in the hall that day, who is with them, who comes in later & is talking to them.
