Meet Another One of Harry Reid’s ‘Rent-a-Thugs’: Edward ‘Eddie’ Gering
by Larry O'ConnorWhen thousands of peaceful, Tea Party protestors came to Harry Reid’s hometown of Searchlight, Nev. last Saturday, you would have thought that the favorite son of this hardscrabble, mining town would garner tons of local support. Not so. Members of IBEW Local 357 were called to action to agitate the crowd and, as we’ve previously shown, to hurl eggs at the busses carrying them.
Around 0:18 into the video released last night showing the exploding shell and yolk that came inches from Andrew Breitbart’s face, a loud protestor taunts Breitbart, smiling and mocking his condemnation of the egg-throwing. “Glad you approve!” he sneers, “Thanks, man!”.
This guy really gets around. Here he is at a Las Vegas healthcare townhall meeting back in August.
He’s holding a megaphone and rallying the crowd with chants of “Health Care for All!” What a tireless advocate for taking other people’s money.
No longer just a face in the crowd… ladies and gentleman this proud Harry Reid supporter is Edward “Eddie” Gering. And like his sister in the struggle Alvivon “Bon Bon” Hurd, he is not just a random loudmouth with a picket sign. No, he’s actually the Vice President of Local 357. He’s one heartbeat away from the Presidency of Harry Reid’s favorite union.

According to UnionFacts.com, Gering makes over $111,000 a year to look after his brothers. Not bad, Eddie. Is standing on the side of a desert road screaming support for Harry Reid and disdain for your fellow Americans who are exercising their constitutional rights in a peaceful and orderly way part of your job description, or were you “going the extra mile” last Saturday?
Your incredibly handsome salary paid for by the hard-earned dues of your brothers and sisters is especially remarkable considering the average annual salary in the state of Nevada is under $33,000.
I bet the public would also find it interesting to find out that the Local 357 Pension Fund is in deep trouble. As of 2007 (before the recession) they were under-funded by 35%! Per Federal law they were required to notify their members of the problem and the fund is now in a ten-year “Funding Improvement” period. Hope that goes well for your sake, Eddie. With the salary you are currently hauling in, you are due for a nice, fat pension. Good thing your health plan isn’t in line for one of those “Cadillac Taxes” that your favorite Senator voted for. Nope, that tax is only going to the non-union folks in your state. Whew, dodged that bullet, didn’t you?

While i've been very mean-spirited to the Progressive Leftists on this website, (and some of you have let me know it), i often wish that one of these thugs would get in my face. Unlike the majority of you that promote the "peaceful" means on this entire "Grab for Socialism" debate, i can't help thinking how satisying re-arrangeing this losers face would be. The difference is the Left usually hides it's intentions or claim to be a 'victim' of intolerance as opposed to my shameless assertion of violence begets violence. Wealth redistribution will not affect everyone negatively, but the organizers and above have taken precautions to exempt themselves from the penalties they mete out. I think it goes something like this: I, King Obama, do decree that all wealthy people in the land shall pay a tax of such and such. I will of course pay no such tax. Oh, and and all my knights and ladies of the court shall be exempt from any new taxes. All their servants shall be exempt as well. However all peasants living outside the castle walls shall also pay a tax of a lesser amount, and shall bask in my benevolent aura five times a day.

My husband belongs to IBEW and I finally talked him into filing the paperwork to get a refund for the percentage of his dues used to fund demacrats in elections. He is going to talk all his "brothers" that are like-minded into doing the same thing— Next I'll work on getting him to QUIT the union. EVERY state should be "right 2 work"

Wow, those union types make a handsome salary! That's around as much as a full Colonel (or Navy Captain) in the military. And I would hazard a guess that the union types do much less to draw (certainly not earn) that salary.
These Union guys are pathetic……….living in la-la land and laughing at the rest of us on the way to the bank. I had a direct experience with these goons in Las Vegas while trying to set up a booth at a trade show some years back. You can't do anything yourself, they have to even plug in the electrical devices, showed up at the booth (two guys on a cart) didn't have any tools, had to drive off to get them, came back after their break and then did 15 minutes work (if you want to call it that) and then we had to pay them for their efforts on top of the booth charges. It is the biggest scam going……….all of this stuff could have been done by a fourth grader and probably better.
We all need to always look to buy non-union produced product and services whenever possible and hit them in their wallets. But then again under the current administration and its love affair with the Union bosses they will just get subsidized again, that is what the GM and Chrysler bailout was all about……………saving the Unions and the constant flow of Union funds into the coffers of the Democratic Party.
Hey, maybe Rep. Harry (Batman) Waxman can start a parade of these goons in front of his committees. The same ones he uses to intimidate and silence the dissenting CEO's of companies that actual earn their keep.

I too saw this Union thievery years ago at the Atlantic City Convention center. You had to run around witha fist full of 50 dollar bills to bribe these guys to get anything done. If you didn't do it your both wouldn't be ready by show time.

(think of Tea Partiers holding up a "Shame on Local 357 -they are hurting our community", sign) Decent businesses thinking of hiring them (or employ them now) will think twice once these prospective and existing employers are made aware of the racism, lies, deceit and vandalism we have seen here, they will not want to condone the activity they have witnessed by employing them.

Hollywood, just remember that atleast when this was found out (through good journalism I might add) that the RNC did do the right thing and not try to hide from it, or deflect away from it, or demean the reporters for reporting it. No one is perfect or even close to it but there is a difference between admitting there was a problem and trying to resolve it versus constantly trying to hide from the problem or placing the blame on the messenger instead of actually admitting to the mistake.

With reference to Maladroit's comment, I made the same observation on another site. Those people were provided their props and by whom one can only speculate. Mr. Gering's presence is certainly more than an expression of his ardor and zeal for Herr Reid. Indeed, Gering is nearly the same as Goering – remember him? Ah, yes, he rose to prominence out the the rise of the Brown Shirts some years back. The good news is they are actually becoming an asset for the Tea Party folks. All well and good, and I support in principal, but…very few items are made int he US anymore. Cars? My next one will be a Ford or, for the first time in my life, a "foreign" Toyota. Unions mostly build (construction) or haul things.
