Anatomy of a Beat-Down Part 2: Why Kenneth Gladney Was Beaten And by Whom
by Larry O'ConnorYesterday we discussed the events leading up to the August 6th health care town hall meeting featuring Rep. Russ Carnahan (D-MO). The event was hosted by Health Care For American Now (HCAN) and Organizing for America (OFA), the former a front group for Service Employees International Union (SEIU) and the latter an off-shoot of the Obama Campaign now run by the Democratic National Committee (DNC). We revealed a four page document released by HCAN two days before the August 6th town hall meeting. In that document, guidelines are revealed for members of HCAN (union members) on how best to stifle the protestations of ObamaCare.
The meetings hosted by HCAN (like the one on August 6th in St. Louis) were set up using these rules. Americans showed up at these meetings thinking that it would be an opportunity to address their elected representatives and talk to them about the single most important piece of legislation our congress has proposed in decades. Instead, they were pushed to the back of the room and shouted down by the well-trained SEIU members. Eventually, an American citizen who was distributing “Don’t Tread on Me” flags and buttons was assaulted by a handful of the SEIU members. His name is Kenneth Gladney.
Let’s look at that memo and how it matches the events of August 6th:
- One advantage to organizing your own Town Hall or public event with Members of Congress is that you will have much more control over the event and limit the other side’s opportunities for disruption.
- Make sure you turn out a substantial number of people from your base and that everyone signs a sign-in sheet upon entering the event. Give everyone name tags so they are easily identifiable. If you want to ensure greater control over turnout, you can ask attendees to RSVP or even issue tickets to the event and require presentation of the ticket at the entrance.
- Choose a venue that is difficult for the opposition to access without being noticed. Get to your location early and make sure you set up the venue in a way that ensures that the attendees you want are at the front and that any protesters who come are sequestered as far as possible from the stage.
- Make sure that you assign marshals to take care of moving the crowd, keeping people organized and orderly, and acting as security should any need arise to ask noisy or disruptive protesters to leave.
- Another way to limit protesters’ ability to hijack your event is to confiscate signs or leaflets that they may bring into the venue from outside. The best way to do this is to make a blanket rule that no one can bring signs or leaflets and to advertise this fact as you do turn out in the weeks preceding the event. You can distribute your own signs in the event and offer them one as they enter if you choose to allow them to enter.
- It’s important that you take away right-wingers opportunities to talk with reporters by making sure that your staff or leaders are in constant contact with the media who attend.
According to Harris Himes an eyewitness at the scene of the town hall meeting the evening of the 6th:
They let in about two hundred of us but had about 120 seats set aside, marked “RSVP,” and these were for Carnahan supporters. These people were let in by a side door for the “handicapped.” Many had purple t-shirts with “Organizing for America” in white letters on the back and large “SEIU,” smaller “Service Employees International Union” on the front. They shut the doors on about 1000 people around 6:30 pm for the 7:00 pm event. After being introduced, Carnahan spoke but was booed frequently while the supporters stood and applauded…. Finally, Carnahan stood for questions. It turned out that the questions had to be written and turned in. The dissenters booed, shouting that they didn’t know this and hadn’t been given a chance to write any. It didn’t make any difference, because he answered a couple of seminar questions and then announced that he had to leave about 8:30 for an “interview”—after most of the time had been taken up by the panel.
Also on the evening of the 6th, a town hall meeting organized by HCAN and OFA was set up in Tampa Bay, FL with Rep. Kathy Castor. An eyewitness describes what is seen on this YouTube video:
This is part one of the Tampa Town Hall meeting on August 6. Left Wing organizers are seen passing out Obama Flyers and signs. Once they see that right wingers have their own sings, they quickly pick them up and hide them. Hundreds of people are outside trying to get in, many of them who had been waiting for hours while others were able to sneak in the back door. Even with all this, there was still many in the audience that booed once Kathy Castor started detailing the Health Care Plan.
And here is a second description on a YouTube video that shows the “marshals” and security forces in action:
Kathy Castor’s union thugs beat up a guy (in the green shirt – evidence 3:21) and shut the doors to prevent the opposing opinions from being heard. She then proceeded leave, not taking any questions, because “she couldn’t hear.
The Tampa Bay meeting and the St. Louis meetings followed the same templates and they were both arranged by HCAN and OFA. Both ended with pushing and shoving (in both cases the pushing being done by card-carrying members of SEIU) and both ended with the elected official leaving after only answering a few scripted questions put forth by plants in the crowd.
It is hard to not reach the conclusion that the events of August 6th were a result that could have been expected given the rhetoric from elected officials in the Democratic Party (Speaker Pelosi saying the protesters carries swastikas) and the President’s Advisers (Jim Messina telling Senators “if they hit you, we will punch them back twice as hard”) coupled with the instructions handed down to obedient union members by their union leaders. If you agree that HCAN and OFA were instrumental in creating the climate for violent confrontation that led to Kenneth Gladney’s assault, then it is important to learn about the leadership of HCAN and the SEIU members who are suspects in the assault and learn who they are and what might have motivated their actions.
Meet Margarida Jorge. She works for HCAN and is the person who released the memo that served as a template for the meetings in Tampa Bay and St. Louis. Ms. Jorge worked for SEIU in Missouri prior to her position at HCAN. She is often featured at the People’s World web page (a direct descendant of the Daily Worker the newspaper of the American Socialist and Marxist Movement). In fact, Ms. Jorge was honored with an award from People’s World for her work with an organization called Progressive Vote, or Pro-Vote. Pro-Vote is a coalition of many organizations including SEIU, HCAN and ACORN. Their mission: To fight for progressive issues and progressive candidates.
That is Margarida Jorge. She wrote the HCAN memo. In the past she worked with Sara Howard.
Meet Sara Howard. She used to work with SEIU. She also worked for a group called America Coming Together (ACT). In the 2004 campaign, ACT was very active in registering voters on behalf of the Kerry Campaign. ACT was later fined $775,000 for taking illegal donations (including those from SEIU), the largest FEC fine in history. She also worked as a Senior Strategist for Obama for America. On August 5th, the day before the St. Louis town hall meeting featuring Rep. Russ Carnahan, Sara Howard was named the Communications Director for the Missouri Democrat.
That is Sara Howard. She is Russ Carnahan’s Communication’s Director. When she was working on the Obama Campaign, she was under the direction of Buffy Wicks.
Meet Buffy Wicks. Buffy Wicks is the Deputy Director of the White House Office of Public Engagement directly under Valerie Jarrett. She was the White House representative on the infamous conference calls involving Yosi Sergant and the NEA which were exposed by Big Hollywood resulting in Mr. Sergant’s forced resignation. Before her job at the White House Buffy Wicks ran the Obama Campaign operation in Missouri where she was instrumental in get out the vote programs involving SEIU, ACORN and Pro-Vote, where she worked with Sara Howard and Margarida Jorge.
That is Buffy Wicks, Sara Howard and Margarida Jorge. In their capacities with SEIU and Pro-Vote and HCAN and the Obama Campaigns, they were involved with SEIU Public Service Director and former organizer Elston McCowan and SEIU Business Agent and Organizer Perry Molens. McCowan and Molens are the men charged with the assault on Kenneth Gladney.
Let me just lay this out once more:
- Margarida Jorge worked at SEIU in St. Louis. She wrote the HCAN memo on fighting back against the right.
- Sara Howard worked at SEIU in St Louis. She also worked for Obama For America. The day before the St. Louis town hall, she was hired by Rep. Russ Carnahan.
- Elston McCowan and Perry Molens worked at SEIU in St. Louis. They have been charged with the bloody assault of Kenneth Gladney.
- Jorge, Howard, McCowan and Molens were all involved with Buffy Wicks at Obama For America in Missouri.
- Buffy Wicks now works for Valerie Jarret in the White House Office of Public Engagement and was involved in the NEA Conference Calls.
Does your head hurt yet? If it doesn’t, it will tomorrow.
Tomorrow we will show how this small network of insiders in the leftist political power structure of St. Louis are inter-connected with the very people charged with investigating and prosecuting the individuals responsible for beating Kenneth Gladney. And, how those same people were also instrumental in the Obama Campaign in Missouri in 2008. We will show how the three month delay in bringing charges against the assailants appear to be motivated by political and personal relationships in the close-knit family that is the St. Louis Democratic Party.

Re: Dr. Ronald Michael's purchase of the controlling interest in Arcola Homestread Savings Bank; Arcola, IL
As you know, the I.D.F.P.R. is in possession of proof of FRAUD regarding Dr. Ronald Michael's purchase of Arcola Homestead Savings Bank.
The only question remaining is, what is your agency doing about this?

DOC Banks on government cash
Unpaid taxes no obstacle | Big campaign donor still got OK to buy controlling interest in bank

Dr. Ronald Michael once headed a company that faced more than its share of money troubles. It didn't pay its taxes. And it ended up bankrupt.
But those financial problems didn't prove to be a hurdle when Michael decided to buy a downstate bank.

State and federal officials signed off on the Bourbonnais neurosurgeon's purchase of 73 percent of Arcola Homestead Savings Bank in 2003. And in the past year, the tiny bank has seen a big boost in deposits from public, taxpayer-funded sources.
So how do you go from running a bankrupt company to owning a bank with millions in government deposits?
Michael — who's made $178,390 in campaign contributions to state and local officials and thousands of dollars more to federal candidates — won't say. "I'm not talking about my personal life," he says.
His business troubles involve a restaurant delivery company called Hypermeals Inc. In the late 1990s, Michael started a business that acquired a 70 percent stake in Hypermeals. He personally held a 2.5 percent stake in Hypermeals and served as its chairman.
In 2002, Hypermeals' troubles boiled over. The company filed for bankruptcy that May after failing to pay $34,987 in state taxes. The state filed a second tax lien — for $49,979 — against the company in 2004. Hypermeals still owes the tax man, records show.
Less than six months after the bankruptcy filing, Michael began seeking approval to buy Arcola Homestead from then-Gov. George Ryan's administration. State and federal banking officials gave their OK to the $1.1 million purchase in February 2003, a month after Gov. Blagojevich took office.
Bank regulators won't say if they investigated Michael's involvement with Hypermeals. Nor will they release details of the financial report Michael filed with his banking application. They cite privacy laws.
But records show that, as of June 30, 2006, Arcola Homestead had just $550,000 in deposits from state and local government entities. A year later, that figure had soared to $7.2 million.
FDIC records don't specify where the cash comes from. But the Illinois State Treasurer's office says it has $285,000 in Michael's bank. The most recent deposit came in January 2004, when then-state Treasurer Judy Baar Topinka deposited $95,000 in state funds.
Subsequently, in May 2005, Michael started donating to Topinka's failed 2006 run for governor. In all, he ended up giving Topinka $63,810.
Michael also has given $21,180 to current state Treasurer Alexi Giannoulias, a Democrat.
Topinka and Giannoulias say Michael's contributions didn't affect decisions about his bank. Also, they say they didn't even know Michael was in the banking business, that they knew only that he was a doctor.
Gov. Blagojevich has accepted $47,000 from Michael, including $25,000 on Nov. 23, 2002 — 18 days after Blagojevich won election.
About three months later, on Feb. 28, 2003, Michael won approval to take control of Arcola Homestead. He gave another $20,000 to the governor's campaign fund on July 25, 2003.
The donations had nothing to do with Michael being OKd to buy the bank, Blagojevich campaign spokesman Doug Scofield says.

Gentleman,
It appears as though, Carol Marin has made a decision that she no longer wants any information about Dr. Ronald Michael and his pals.
This does not bode well for the state of journalism in Chicago. As many of us know, Dr. Michael is a close friend of Tony Rezko. One of my sources informed me that Dr. Michael's family met Tony in Lebanon, before he came to the U.S. to live with the Michael family. This story gets better everyday, so you can imagine my dismay that a veteran like Carol Marin would want to be excluded.
Anyone else want out of their responsibility as a journalist?

The tide is turning, beware leftists you will not prevail.
You know, the Left is saying, "you are just being a conspiracy theorist". The funny thing is that over & over again, the same names keep showing up & what were also considered "conspiracy theories" are no long theories but facts. It's like watching a child deliberately break a glass & saying "I didn't do it, he did" even though the child knows you were standing right there, watching, the whole time. What worries me is that the Conservative side starts resorting to the same tactics. But hey, what goes around, comes around.
SEIU, ACORN and the Andy Stern Healthcare connection: Is it to harvest nursing home votes!
Just speculating here but it occurred to me that recently ACORN workers were spotted leaving a nursing home in NJ with voter registration cards back in September or October I believe. So I kept thinking about that and the closeness of NY 23 and it occurred to me: just how many Alzheimer and comatose patients in nursing or home care voted in the last election? Did their family know about the voting? Is it enough to tilt a race? Could this be a “get out the vote harvesting source?” See Continued
Continued
Is it possible that registration, absentee ballots requests, and ballot returned by mail are going into the system from incapacitated patients through a dubious source? Could this be orchestrated by “SEIU union health care workers” and ACRON? It certainly isn’t outside of the scope of what ACRON has done before to manufacture votes! How can this be checked out? What about finger prints on the ballot?
Could this be part of the reason Andy is so important to the White House? Can he harvest a couple of million votes in key districts? Can they affect the outcome of the 2010 mid-terms? As the population ages more votes become available to harvest!
Kenneth Gladney deserves a Red Badge of Courage for exposing the Democratic Party for what they are…….the real racist party.
The Prosecutor should be held responsible.
And I thought Buffy drank the Kool-Aid by the drum. Rather it appears that she distributes it by the truck load.

Why does the Left get to investigate themselves? What a hoot if Beck's diagram turns out to be spot on. If W tried something like this he'd have been fried by MSM. Justice will be sought through the means available. There is now little expectation that serious investigation of 0-connected organizations will occur. Justice ends up being handled outside the oxymoronically named Justice system.

This sounds like something which deserves a RICO investigation: definitely work across state lines to commit violent crimes. Whoopsy, won't have DOJ investigating that.

It certainly doesn't strike me as something that should be happening in the US, that's for sure. The perpetrators need to be prosecuted.
Ah Buffy, not nice. Soon you will be under the Obama bus. Better get that resume polished.
I'm posting this on every thread on this subject.
One of the same people who is refusing to file charges (at least the proper charges) was one of the prosecutors involved in Obama's :Truth Squads" during the campaign.
A report on the Missouri "Truth Squad" was done by a local St. Louis TV station during the campaign. I had seen the video of the newscast online but it's gone now.
The transcript can be found here
A youtube video with part of the newscast featuring McCulloch is here.
This is outrageous. This prosecutor was going to act quickly and go after people for misleading or telling lies about Obama during the campaign yet now he blows off someone getting beat up?
Anyone from St. Louis should contact the reporter in the "Truth Squad" story . Mr. Gladney's beating, slow action and minor charges juxtaposed against the "Truth Squad" story could expose the outrageous politicizing of the prosecutors office.

It works in California.
I really hate to say this. In pre-Nazi Germany there where rallies and open public meetings. Hitler rose to popularity because of his actions during these often violent meeting. Where he pushed a socialists agenda.
Those who do not learn from history are condemned to repeat it.
You are right. But there is one thing that the "resistance" to Hitler did not have. We did not have the internet.
"Speaker Pelosi saying the protesters carries swastikas"
You do realize there are pictures of this, yes? I mean, this is a big bad investigative outfit, right?
I was wondering if Carnahan could be charged with inciting to riot. Tried to pull up a video of his townhall meeting in STL, but the first 50 google search pages have to do with Gladney and the SEIU thugs!
Still hoping to find some actual town hall meeting footage.

The 2nd Amendment is in place for self protection and to protect the 1st. Time to start exercising that right at ALL meetings and defend our rights from being hijacked by these thugs.
Memo Translation = Use Stalinist Tactics to identify, control, and deal with villainous scum, sometimes known as average American Citizens
Some hypothetical but serious questions.
1) There is evidence by ACORN of repeated and willful violations of the law, and SEIU has been implicated in numerous beatings of political opposition.
a) Should these organizations committing crimes be considered "organized crime"?
2) Government officials at the highest levels of DOJ on down have protected New Black Panther Party, SEIU, and ACORN.
b) Is the government an accomplice after the fact of these crimes, or involved before?
3) Very Senior government officials are tied in with SEIU, ACORN and other organizations that commit crimes as a matter of course to advance their political objectives. The party with those ties now controls executive, legislative and judicial branches of government.
c) If ACORN, SEIU, or NBPP are organized crime, and their allies control the entire federal government, is the federal government now a criminal organization.?
d) If the government is closely tied to organizations known for voter fraud, can there be a civil, electoral remedy to remove criminal elements and return to honest government?
4) The Declaration of Independence contains 27 grievances. It could be argued that this government has committed 9 of these.
e) At what point should resistance to tyranny advance to civil disobedience? And at what point should it advance further?
As I ponder these, I look forward to your input. Thanks in advance.
Let's see some photos of Howard, McCown, Molens, & Jorge. Mug show style photos. Shine the light on these rats. They will hate that and it will dissuade Union Goons in the Future.
This story reminds me of Emmett Till. Emmett was killed because he was the wrong kind of person to be doing what he was doing. Kenneth was beaten because he was the same. Shame on SEIU. They are rats and should be jailed.
You mean the Larouch Douche bags?
Yeah thought I smelled a little of that on you, go home, take a shower, you have a big day ahead of you at the quicky mart you Anarchist troll.
Dude… you're stealing my thunder! lol
Stay tuned for the rest of the chapters going up this week….
Boy, I wish Russ Carnahan would have another meeting in the near future. Knowing what we know now, I would travel the 500 miles just to be there. I think a LOT of people just might show up. We'd have the SEIU on the run in no time.
Scott_Z dreams about being on a wanted poster, these guys probably do to.
We fix that though
I suggest using a little creative photoshop work and adding lipstick and maybe eyeliner. Then put it on a big poster with a purple border, at the bottom a picture of Mr. Gladney in his wheel chair and as a title.

I'm very sorry that this happened to this man. He was not hurting anyone. He was passing the flags around. Because of the purple shirt. They had no right to come over and do this. There should be an outrage over this. It's sad what our county is becoming. People don't have a voice anymore. Who is running who. the purple shirt are going to change there names so they can get funds from us. And this is the way they like to treat us the people. There should be investigation on this and also, the white house. It could happen to anybody….?????????????
These SEIU thugs will likely evolve into our dear leader's Brownshi*t Army. I'm sure the WH will call on NEA to design nifty little uniforms for them, bearing in mind that the Brits wore red so the blood wouldn't show, they'll likekly have brown pants.
What's funny about the Carnahan event is that it was not originally set up to be a town hall meeting on the healthcare bill. It was originally set up as a forum on aging, and related issues. In some ways it worked for him, others not so much. I thought it quite rude to the panel presenters (at least those who stayed on topic), and the businesses/organizations who had come to display at the event. On the other hand it gave him great cover for reserving seating for his lackeys. I was told that those seats were for the seniors who has "RSVP'ed". I was also told that if I were there for anything other than a panel on aging issues, I should just go home, despite having received a phone call from Carnahan earlier that day inviting me to a "health care townhall".
A friend told me that her father was offered a seat by someone and was seated next to a rather large man from SEIU. This man told my friend's father that he didn't really even like Carnahan, but he was told to show up and intimidate people. So much for fair and open exchange of ideas.
