All Right, Let’s Be More Like Europe-They’re Not Imposing Net Neutrality
by Seton MotleyEurope has of late become a place for We the People of the United States to begin in some ways to consider emulating – after decades of it being an economic and societal afterthought and punch line.
The Barack Obama Administration spent its first two years hurtling us towards 1970s France – accumulating record debt to fund dubious “stimulus” spending and corrupt political payoffs, enacting socialized medicine, nationalizing large swaths of various industries and slapping the economy with heaping helpings of new regulations.
And when President Obama headed across the Pond for the G-20 Summit, he demanded the Europeans engage in the same profligate spending he had – in other words, take his Old Europe medicine – to address the recession.
This is the Administration, after all, that is the current way station for Vice President Joe Biden and his brilliant economic insights – “We have to go spend money to keep from going bankrupt.”
But many Europeans wisely responded with “Mr. President, we’ll instead practice austerity, thank you very much.”
Translation: They’ve long been doing the government-laden approach, and they will now instead try freedom. And in many parts of New Austerity Europe, the recession is now just a bad memory – not a continuing crisis.
Europe is now exhibiting the same good sense with regard to Internet policy – specifically the ridiculous notion that is Network Neutrality. It is passing on the government-laden approach, and instead (continuing to) try freedom.
At the European Commission and European Parliament Summit on “The Open Internet and Net Neutrality in Europe,” Neelie Kroes – the commissioner for the European Union (EU)’s digital agenda – gave a November 11th speech during which she announced that Europe would not be imposing a Net Neutrality law.
Kroes seems to get that Net Neutrality is a solution running around looking for a problem – meaning there are very few if any (in the United States – ZERO) current Net Neutrality-related complaints lodged anywhere by anyone. And unless and until there are, Europe will leave the Internet well enough alone.
“If we encounter significant and persistent problems, I will not be afraid to change the law in the future to achieve competition and choice consumers deserve.”
Kroes acknowledged that it is the Internet consumers who rule the roost – and not the Internet Service Providers (ISPs) as alleged by the pro-Net Neutrality gaggle. And if an ISP were to do something their customers didn’t like, they would let the ISP have it – just as always happens in every other facet of the free market. From Cecilia Kang’s Washington Post piece:
(Kroes) also said consumers will guide industry behavior. If a carrier were to block Skype, a service Kroes said she uses to call family back home, consumers would protest.
Kroes concludes her speech with what would seem to be an apt description of why they are passing on Net Neutrality:
“I consider that the core of the Internet should remain a robust, best effort Internet to which everyone has access (and) I want to leave room for future innovation….”
“Remain a robust, best effort Internet” – which means it is a robust, best effort Internet NOW – WITHOUT Net Neutrality emplaced.
“I want to leave room for future innovation…” – innovation which Net Neutrality would constrict into oblivion.
So we say Bravo to Ms. Kroes and the E.U. for making the rational and right decision to discard the absurdity that is Net Neutrality.
And hearty congratulations to all of Europe – who will enjoy an Internet that remains free to grow, broaden and be ever increasingly the free speech, free market Nirvana that it is and has been – without Net Neutrality in place.
Vive la Liberté. Lebhaft die Freiheit. Bully.

Unfortunately for America, Chairman O has decided to skip right past the 1970s anti growth "Euro-peon heroin chic" craze….
He's into the Zimbabwe / Somalia "death spiral nouveau" look now!!!
Obama has made it clear, that he has NO intention in compromising with anyone outside his liberal left party…WE have to find a way to STOP him, and Soros from taking our country down!!!
Soros has done this 4 other times…however, this time, he is messing with the WRONG people! We are NOT a third world country…we have the internet, and GLEN BECK to inform us of the coup de grace they are doing their best to slam us with!
NOT going to happen!
Let's be more like Europe:
-They're undergoing austerity to save money
-They're privatizing socialized medicine
-They're cutting back public employees
-They're not printing money out of thin air
-They don't run snitch sites out of the president's office
-They're not marxists
he is a deer looking into the headlights.
All communists fall. Obama is next!
We still have strong laws, starting with the Constitution and including our 50 State's Attorneys General! Bring the corrupt communist Obama Administration down using our power of State Sovereignty, and our new Congress who has the will to do it. This will send a message, and the Unions and socialist Democrats will scurry like rats.
Make America communist-proof using prosecution!
Remember though, they will always be there with their marxist intents!
That will make a good screen saver. Just think of the 3-D effects. LOL
Don't give up Congress. Start the repeals and prosecutions. Make them public to deter other communist politicians. Use our laws to protect we Tax Payers!
The Federal Government should never be allowed to dictate to the U.S.
We will exert our power to limit Government. Obama didn't like having these "pesky" elections and voting. Now let's show him how "pesky" legal investigations and holding he and his Administration accountable, can be!
Go Tea Party Constitutional Americans! In or out of Government we will fight to keep America free, and to hold Dictators accountable and drive Dictators out, starting with the entire Obama Administration!
With all Dictators and the countries they overtake and "change" to a communist nightmare, the people have an epiphany moment where they realize this is not what they want and pain and suffering are coming. That moment of our epiphany was the day Barrack H. Obama was elected. There is no doubt this man is intent on remolding us into Communist Venezuella, the difference being with all the other countries whom this has happened is that we are America. We are not sheep, we are not followers, we are leaders and have endured much worse than this man in our history.
My family has it's blood spilled in defense of this great nation, I personally am not willing to have had them die in vain. The genocidal maniac that is B.H.O. gets stopped by us. You will be lucky to escape with your own life Mr. Obama after the trials.
Complacency is not an option. We are under seige by the Obama Administration and their communist friends!
Too bad o didn't go to Kenya to run for dictator, he fancies himself so far advanced over the bulk of
US that we are merely 'primitives' in his mind. That attitude just might have flown in Kenya, however
here? Just a total waste of money and time.
We need him GONE, yesterday!!!
Recovery cannot begin with his regimes ongoing silly game-playing. OUT, out damn spot!
.
It is unfortunate that so many believe Obama just doesn't know what he's doing. I believe he knows exactly what he's doing. His every move is to bankrupt this country, and (bring us down) to the level of his Muslim friends, sorry but that is what he's trying to do. Along with his One Worlder friend George Soros. I have been saying for years; they have to break America, to get us into their One World Order from Hell. Too many of our own Congressman have been going along with this idea of Tyrany for too long. They have believed the lie and they have helped to put a knife in the back of every American. Even Democrats would be shocked, if they truly understood the real plans Obama has for them. We need to stop Obama at every turn.
Get your congress critters to vote down NN and the Dream act. The dream act is being pushed in congress by pelosi this coming week. Beware the lame duck congress. The socialists are angry(PC word) that they lost big time and want to punish the American voters. BTW, the EPA is bypassing congress on CO2, cap and trade, regulation in spite of what the court has stipulated. Stay awake folks, our greatest fears are being realized.
Senator Orrin Hatch (R) Ut., has filed the "American Liberty Protection Act" which will do away with the unconstitutional employee mandate.
He also filed a Bill to do any with job killing employer mandates.
Hatch stated that these 2 Bills will take the pillars and underpinnings of ObamaCare away from Obama's intentions.
Add to that the 20 States and their Attorneys General who are filing against the Constitutionality of ObamaCare, and we will have a lot of pressure on Obama.
I know that Obama hates the pesky legal framework of America but he is going to be facing it up real close soon!
Laws Mr. Obama. They are different from dictates! We'll show you the difference. Stand by.
If States want something let them present Single Bills.
The Obama Administration never thought that the TeaParty Constitutionalists would ever make a difference. Now they will be sitting side by side with them in Congress! Hell hath no fury like a Country scourned!
Unfortunately, Soros will succeed in creating economic chaos in this country; he's already half-way there. The upside is that, but the time the 2012 election rolls around, Americans will be so desperate and so angry that Obama will stand ZERO chance of re-election.
The other side of that coin, however, is the 2012 election being delayed, canceled or rigged on a massive scale.
He is OUR Bobby Mugabi…
Thank you progressives, the cat is out of the bag and we the people are putting some sunshine on your agenda.
Soros, you have been weighted, measured and found wanting. Take your socialist ideas and president with you back to Kenya.
Obama doesn't listen to the American voters…
Maybe his "European voters" can have a positive influence…
The path he's on now is the 'garden path' to bankruptcy and hyper-inflation….
Wisconsin Assemblyman Don Pridemore (R) Wisconsin, is joining Arizona in fighting Illegal Immigration. He has proposed Legislation to incarcerate Illegal Aliens for 48 hours until they can prove their legal status. If not they are deported. Bravo! Finally a politician with ethics and conviction. It's a start. Keep the pressure on Barack Hussein Mohammed Obama!
Will someone please begin prosecutions directly against the Obama Administration including D.O.J. Holder and Clinton, who are refusing to enforce OUR Federal Immigration Law! and are even prosecuting our State of Arizona! The longer they get away with this the more they will persist.
San Diego and several other cities are staging Impeach Obama Rallies this weekend to bring awareness to this situation that he needs to be Impeached, Convicted and Removed. Two to 5 in San Diego down in front of the Star of India.
Here is a listing of the cities http://stopobamanowsd.wordpress.com/impeach/ If you can join, that would be great, they are a lot of fun. The La (R)Douche guys come out and talking to them is a trip.
I'm starting to think it's George Soros who is driving him. What if the power of Soros was removed? Oh hell, it would be much better just to remove all the corrupts fools. I didn't see LA on the list of Impeach Obama Rallies this weekend. I wonder what is up with that? Ohhhh oh yeah, LA loves Obama, silly me, I forgot.
We are making progress so stay alert! Rush the other day reported that the "Cap and Trade" on Wal-Street, Al Gore, top investor as well as many other Dem's, quietly shut down. A victory the media does not seem too want too report. The so called "Lame Duck" session I suspect will not be so "Lame". This is the last chance for Dem's too sneak through more of thier agenda. We need too remind the Dem's who are up for election in 2012–what happened in 2010. We want deadlock! We want the Dem's in the spotlight so more of America wakes up and smells the Tea brewing!!
What's funny about your response is that you say "we have the internet."
Yes, we do…for now. If the corporate establishment has its way, however, you'll be able to view corporate-approved content, and maybe you will and maybe you won't be able to view other content. Net neutrality is critical to the continued reliance on the Internet as a tool of democracy. Now, I know "democracy" is uncomfortably close to "democrat" for some of you, but the fact is that democracy is what we have and what we want to keep. Remember Ben Franklin's words? "…if you can keep it." We're not doing a very good job of that, and letting the last best hope of democracy slip into the hands of a handful of corporate behemoths is the very last thing we need.
Don't know if you noticed, but Sarah Palin's top advisor is on Soros' payroll. Bing it, since you all fear Teh Google.
You people talk as if the Federal Government is some alien entity out to destroy the country, when in fact it is the glue that holds the nation together, and it is comprised of and authorized by the American people. Your failure to understand that WE *ARE* the government (basic Civics) has caused you to put your faith in the very organizations that seek to subvert the power of the people to control them — the multinational corporate hegemon. And they're taking full advantage of your misguided anger, fueling it with their treasuries, publicizing it on their media broadcasting networks and, ultimately, buying our elections. Keep it up, and it's over for America. Over.
"LA loves Obama, silly me, I forgot"…
Especially on the West Side, where economic ignorance, class envy, and hypocrisy cloak the eventual sad reality coming their way…
You know the guy is 80 years old. He has been active in politics for many years now. Frankly I am surprised this is an issue that people care about just now. I have not heard anything about George Soros trying to bring American economy in 2009 or 2008 or 2007 or 2006 or 2005 or 2004 or all the years before that.
Who do you think is going to replace Obama? What if it's another Democrat? What if it's somebody that holds truly populist views instead of somebody that talks about them and embraces the corporate establishment?
That is what Obama wants!! It was always what he wanted and America voted for him!! No one really listened too what he said, the tingles were flowing up their leg!! In away it was the best thing that happened. By being a exploting star he lit up the "Progessive's Agenda" which has been silently taking over our country for years. Hilary would of been smarter, and continued the Progressive Agenda under-cover. McCain at least had Sara Palin too keep it in check, but I also think he is a Progessive at heart.
I really don't think you have any idea what your greatest fears even are, at this point. You see ghosts and apparitions behind every detail of life. It would be funny if it weren't so pathetic and didn't stand the chance of ruining the country.
Hilariously, the mandate is the only part of "Obamacare" that the insurance companies really want. It's a Republican idea that made the cut. Progressives don't want it either, and yet you act as if it's key to some socialist plot to destroy America. It's a sop to the insurance industry and always has been. You don't have to believe me…look it up. See where it came from.
Well, perhaps it's such a big deal because it is actually going to happen on a massive scale. I respectfully suggest that if you don't care, you should START caring; this is going to significantly effect all of us.
Commodity prices are what drives the cost of everything we buy….have you taken a look at them lately?
" I have not heard anything about George Soros trying to bring American economy in 2009 or 2008 or 2007 or 2006 or 2005 or 2004 or all the years before that. "
Of course you haven't when you turn to media he owns.
Try educating yourself by turning to other news outlets on both sides of the issues.Try toning your criticisms down and actually LISTEN. Do your own research rather than take any one's word for anything. Go on….give it a whirl.
VE MUST SEE YOUR PAPERS.
Weak.
You need to step it up a few more notches if you want real credibility here. Go for it.
I hate to be mean, but I will be LMAO when that reality smacks them hard upside the face.
The US is not a democracy. We are a representative Republic. Franklin said "A Republic, if you can keep it. The Founders knew that pure democracies fail. They promote a ruling class and minority opinions have no representation.
Net Neutrality means, in reality, government regulation of the Internet. Now, whether it is a Republican- or a Democrat-controlled government, do you honestly believe that the internet will remain a 'tool of democracy' if the government gets it's grubby mitts on it? If so, then you are being incredibly naive.
By the way, Franklin said " a Republic, if you can keep it"; just thought I'd point that out, since you conveniently left out the most important word of that quote.
Ben Franklin said……"A REPUBLIC if you can keep it."
pnipni I am from Wisconsin (originally). I can name one company Clothes Clinic of West Bend, WI that in the 90s was hiring only illegals in their factory, I know they still retain at least 4 of them to this day. Also in 2003 an illegal was arrested in West Bend with an accomplice with 50lbs of pot in the trunk of their vehicle. They gave him 6 months in the county lock up and then sent him back to Guadalajara. Milwaukee turns a blind eye to illegals, back in the 90s I often heard them tell illegals "we can't deport you, we don't care what your status is"
If Obama stays on the current path, that will happen…
AZ sounds better all the time…Laguna Hills…?
The Federal government was created to be an agent of the states, not the other way around. The Constitution was written to insure the limitations of it's power. When the Federal government over-steps it's bounds, we will challenge it. We are for a limited Federal government, with elected representatives to represent us, as set forth in the US Constitution.
You are wasting your life.
How many people do you think you will "change" their minds and go "wow, trez is right, I should be a flaming liberal".
Edmund Burke said all that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. Do not allow evil to triumph.
Socialism, Marxism and Communism are proven failures. They succeed by slow, progressive changes in the laws and society. It can only take over when we the people become apathetic. Rick is being vigilant.
I think you missed the point. Without the mandate, the entire bill ( all 2700 pages) fails, which is the goal.
New TEA SHIRT!! "Hell Hath No Fury Like A Country Scorned".
Yes, it is a Republic, but it is a democratic one. I never said it was a pure democracy, and I guess with True Believers like yourself in the majority, it's a damned good thing. We'd still have slavery, I guess, if it were up to the majority.
But what is it you're trying to do, if not silence the opinions of what, I'm certain, you think is the minority in this country? Christians, for example, make up 80 percent of the population, and yet to hear them tell it, they're some persecuted minority in danger of being subject to Sharia Law in Oklahoma. It's really absurd.
Yeah that scenario you are joking about will coming soon to a gulag near you if the progressive nitwits your side is backing have their way son…..
Unfortunately we can't ask the over 100 million dead people in the past 100 years murdered by the leaders of socialist governments how they feel ……..
Insanity is doing the same thing over and over, expecting a different result…

Net Neutrality means no such thing. It means that corporate entities aren't allowed to control the chokepoints of the Internet (individual access) in such a way that content owned by others is disadvantaged in its travels over the Net. In other words, Comcast can't squelch video from Time Warner customers in favor of Comcast-owned content.
It's regulation in that it ensures equality of access, not in that it restricts anything except corporate dominance of content flow.
Yes, I believe that the government (i.e. you and me) will maintain the Internet much as it currently exists, since the government created it in the first place and since you and me have some say over government actions (as witnessed in the Great Refudiation of 2010) where we have little or no say over corporate methods of control and suppression. "I'll take my business elsewhere" doesn't carry much weight when the only way to access the net is through a handful of corporate chokepoints.
Right…so nothing democratic about the United States at all.
Do you people read anything other than Ayn Rand books and BigGovt?
And the last 234 years and the Civil War didn't happen.
The fact remains, the American people ARE the government, and they have the representatives and executives and, to a slightly lesser extent, the judges that they've demanded through their votes, their activism and their apathy.
What is your greatest fear in this Political Enviroment? –A inability to be responsible for your own life because the Gov'tal establishment won't? My Mom used too say the one that buys the toilet paper picks the color, eventently you do not buy your toilet paper.
"But what is it you're trying to do, if not silence the opinions of what, I'm certain, you think is the minority in this country?"
THAT is exactly what we DO NOT want. We want ALL viewpoints out in the open, in the sunlight, if you will. No scurrying around in the dark or making backroom deals behind locked doors to get an agenda through. We want open debates so the people can decide at the polls who has the better ideas.
The problem with Sharia, is that it cannot coexist with the US Constitution. They are incompatible.
And yet you blame a single billionaire that contributes to left-leaning enterprises (as if that's not his right, or the right of anyone to be left-leaning) instead of the (mostly Republican) crooks of Wall St. gambling with your "dumb money" (their words for you).
What are Soros' positions on commodities? I'm sure you know.
This is an excellent example of small business.
Leave it alone. If it is what the "customer" wants then they will visit the store/web site.
But to have the government dictate where we shop is tantamount to the old-style soviet way of doing things.
Oh wait. . . . that IS what obama wants!
You have fun your way, I'll have fun my way.
Hope that expression of my individual liberty doesn't make your head explode…
So, you would agree, that when those we elect do not represent us, we show them the door.
I understand all those words, but not in that order.
Whose goal? Not the insurance industry's…they WANT the mandate. They DEMANDED the mandate. And they used your premiums to advocate and astroturf for it.
Thinking people wanted to do away with the health insurance middleman altogether, but that wasn't even up for discussion, because the voices of the (majority of the) people were ignored in the process. You got the mandate because you allowed the insurance companies to write the damned bill through their stooges (including pseudo-Democrats like Joe Lieberman, Ben Nelson and Max Baucus) in Congress.
So if you're advocating for the "failure" of the health insurance reform bill, you're advocating for the status quo, which leaves millions of Americans without health care and creates a tremendous drag on the economy. If you want the insurance industry to fail in its efforts, then it seems to me you'd be, like I am, all for bypassing the industry altogether when it comes to baseline health care and instituting a single-payer system. Insurance companies scrape off the top 30 percent of every health care dollar spent, and now it is up in arms because the Federal government wants that number to go down to 15-20 percent. By contrast, Medicare has about a 3 percent administrative overhead, because there doesn't have to be profit involved for the government (i.e. you and me).
That doesn't make any sense.
First, you applaud Wisconsin Assemblyman Don Pridemore (R) for his proposed legislation that demands that people SHOW ZEIR PAPERS TO ZE AUTHORITIES or be deported (after spending two days in jail, the absolute BEST place to work to document one's legal status).
Then I come along and point out the authoritarian nature of such a law, and you say that my scenario will soon be coming to a gulag near me if PROGRESSIVES have their way. Nevermind that it is teabagging Republicans like Don Pridemore that want this legislation, not progressives.
You're angry at the wrong people.
Absolutely.
Just don't do it blindly, and, as Rush says, follow the money.
It won't take you long to find out you've been played for a fool by the corporate interests the Republicans spend their time protecting.
Excuss me I didn't realize I was speaking above your grade level. What "GRADE" are you in, dear?
Won’t that be nice, then you can wake up every morning to ‘tea bags’ in your face…
I’m sure you often dream of such a scenario, don’t you boy?
First, I don't know whether you're asking yourself a rhetorical question — "What is your greatest fear in this Political Environment?" — or whether you're asking me.
Second, if you are asking yourself, your answer — "A [sic] inability to be responsible for your own life because the Gov'tal establishment won't?" — is also a question. Again, are you asking me, or asking yourself?
Then you relate an odd tale about your Mom's philosophy on toilet paper color. For what it's worth, I do buy my own toilet paper, although I'm generally stuck with selecting "white" as the color.
So, "eventently" (I confess I don't know that word…), your post is very confusing on its surface. Whatever underlying psychoses it hints at are beyond my comprehension.
I see that you inhabit the same fantasy world as everyone else on the Left: "mostly Republican" crooks of Wall St.?????
Do you simply not pay attention or you a pathological liar? During the last Presidential election campaign, who received more money from Wall St……McCain or Obama?
The answer – and this a FACT, by the way – is OBAMA!
How many tax-dollars have gone to bailing out Wall St since Obama became President? I suggest you look into it. If you HAD any integrity – instead of being just another lying left-wing troll – you would be horrified!
I'm not pretending that there are no Republicans who have the interests of Wall St. at or near the top of their list of priorities, but you need to look at the facts, rather than just take as gospel what you read at Media Mutters or Moron.org….er…….MoveOn.org: This administration is IN BED WITH WALL ST. !
As for Soros' current position on Commodities; that's an easy one. He is currently buying like crazy and urging everyone else to do so. Don't you actually listen to WORDS that come out of Soros' OWN MOUTH?
“The Main Obstacle to a stable and just World Order is the United States.”
How do you – as a leftist – reconcile the fact that here we have the ULTIMATE Capitalist, who made no secret of his desire to break the US economy and YOU defend him?
How does that work?
You are falsely connecting corporations to Republicans.
The corporate powers that be officially went for the Dems in 2008. These are just the top ten.
1 Act Blue $3,151,038 100% Dem 0% GOP Solidly Democratic
2 Goldman-Sachs $1,656,954 71% DEM 29% GOP Strongly Democratic
3 Citigroup Inc. $1,582,857 63% Dem 37% GOP Leans Democratic
4 JP Morgan Chase & Co. $1,171,720 68% Dem 32% GOP Strongly Democratic
5 AT&T Inc. $1,094,144 45% Dem 55% GOP On the fence
6 UBS AG $1,068,953 62% Dem 38% GOP Leans Democratic
7 Intl Brotherhood of Electrical Workers $947,815 98% Dem 2% GOP Solidly Democratic
8 Laborers Union $924,500 91% Dem 9%GOP Solidly Democratic
9 Morgan Stanley $923,850 62% Dem 38%GOP Leans Democratic
10 Machinists/Aerospace Workers Union $904,000 97% Dem 3%GOP Solidly Democratic
Take out the Unions and the Democratic Organizations and we are left with what else, the bankers.
As Bob Dylan sang; “You just want to be on the side that’s winning”.
The scariest words in the English language are……."I'm here from the Government and I'm here to help"
~ Ronald Wilson Reagan.
Hey dumb ass, you got your Franklin quote wrong and 3 people pointed that out in one minute.
NO, I've never read Ayn Rand, and I don't plan on it.
Do you read your Bible?
As I have said before, I'm no great fan of Obama. He has been too much like a Republican for my tastes, looking out for the interests of Wall St. instead of Main St. No argument from me there. Maybe he even received more money from Wall St. during the campaign than that ridiculous fossil…might be because he picked an insane idiot from Alaska to be his running mate and to be a faulty ticker away from the presidency.
What I have a problem with is this insane, over-the-top rhetoric you find in places like BigGovt and Free Republic, in which Obama, the most scrupulously centrist politician in my lifetime, is made out to be a communist dictator-in-waiting, doing the bidding of the evil genius George Soros. You're willing to believe every lunatic Bircher that comes along with some tale about how Obama isn't legitimately the president for whatever reason, never mind the fact that he was elected by a significant margin.
You people are poisoning American civil discourse and are preventing anything from being done about the very real problems facing the country because you are not willing to admit having lost the battle in 2008.
About $700 Billion went to bailing out Wall St. when BUSH was president, and your culture heroes like Sarah Palin SUPPORTED the bailouts because Henry Paulson was holding a gun to the heads of the American people, threatening martial law and civil unrest if Wall St. wasn't permitted to loot the Treasury. Now Wall St. is coming for Social Security, and they're using YOUR opposition to entitlements to get it done…they want people to HAVE to give them that "dumb money" so they can gamble with it some more, and you're right there to enable this effort.
Wall St. can count on the ignorance and racism of the right to play to its advantage, and that's why the crooks have spent $Billions to buy the election, astroturf the debate and get what they want. Do you think they've been spending $Billions to create jobs? No.
I understand that this administration is in bed with Wall St. That's why I don't like the administration. But I'm not going to pretend that it's because he's masterminding some kind of LIBERAL conspiracy…if anything, it's a REPUBLICAN conspiracy. Progressives like myself would prefer that the government did more to intervene on behalf of the American people, who consent to be governed and authorize and elect the government, than on behalf of the corporate criminals that are busy selling this country out.
And no, I don't listen to the words that come out of Soros' mouth. It may surprise you to know that he has absolutely no bearing whatsoever on the formation of my political opinions. I don't generally read MMFA or the MoveOn site, and I'm still waiting for my Soros check for being a loyal liberal.
I guess what I'm saying is that you people are angry at the wrong crowd…the objects of your wrath should be the corporate entities that are working overtime to shape the political debate, counting on (and funding) the Tea Party's hatred of government to support its agenda while working at cross purposes.
That's how it works. Hell, just today, it was revealed that Sarah Palin's top advisor,
Randy Scheuneman, is on Soros' payroll.
Too my First question–I am asking you what is your greatest fear reguarding a Political Enviroment which actually may require you too be more responsible for yourself and not a gov'tal program too lean on. In reference to the TP, my point is that all that is available too buy-white. They use too sell it in prints and soft pastels, which you paid a little more for. The market slowly stopped producing them untill now all that is available is the generic whilte. Progressive's play the same game, Taking one little thing at a time, seeing how the public reats, then takes another. –Untill no one remembers there once was a choice at all. Obama's idealisms is the same as the TP market. He is taking away choices, trying too make all TP in the same generic white. Some think that is a good idea but realistic, it simply kills the middle class. leaving no choice's for creating a better life for you and your children. Now, you would life in a world of the Elites (global politicians) and you, dependant on the crumbs they throw too you.
What part of my Franklin quote did I get wrong?
You that want to pretend that being a Republic means America is not democratic are tilting at windmills. The point is "…if you can keep it." That's what you fail to understand…it's YOUR responsibility to keep it, and that means becoming an informed voter and stopping your support of institutions that are working overtime to subvert our Republic through the buying of elections, astroturfing policy debates and killing its economy through globalization. That's Corporate America, and especially the banksters. Jefferson considered them more dangerous than foreign armies.
The sad thing is, real progressives like myself could buy into the teabaggers' demands for transparency, efficiency and so on if so many of you weren't wrapped up in racist John Birch Society conspiracy theories that try to paint us as part of the problem because we believe in the ability of the American people to form an effective government to protect our interests. So many of you have given up on that idea that you're willing to sell out to whatever corporate interest thinks co-opting your cause will help it avoid regulation and improve the bottom line a few ticks.
It's just sad.
If you aren't 'aware' of the damage this evil man can do…I suggest you DO YOUR HOMEWORK!!! He has taken down 4 countries!!! Check it out for yourself!!!
There is a lot of what you say that I will not dispute. However; I'll take issue with a couple of points:
"the most scrupulously centrist politician in my lifetime" – if it wasn't for the fact that you can read, write and have access to the internet, I would assume that you were born within the last two years. You know how many US Presidents have been more centrist that Obama during my lifetime? ALL of them!
The second point I must take issue with is your attempt to paint the Right as indulging in some form of extremist hysteria, when – every single day – we have a barrage of threats, smears and talk of revolution from the leftist media. You talk about THIS site but I defy you to go read some of the comments on the left-wing blog sites and then tell me you DIDN'T see any evidence of hysterical hatred towards everyone who disagrees with them.
The last point is your mention of the 'ignorance and racism' of the Right. Are you serious????? We get ignorance and racism from the Left on a daily basis. The fact that you refuse to acknowledge that and make accusations that you CANNOT back up with evidence, shows that I'm completely wasting my time talking with you.
You are a lost cause. All I've heard from you is the usual transparent and flimsy lies and soundbites that always come from the Left. The proof that you people are completely unable to think for yourselves is this repetition. Everything you have said (and I repeat that you have made a few points that I will not dispute), I have heard a hundred times, but you people never provide any facts or irrefutable evidence to back up your claims.
The amount of money corporate America spent on electing Democrats in 2010 is CHUMP CHANGE compared to all the millions (perhaps billions) of dollars that were laundered through all those little front groups, dozens of them operating out of single office buildings.
It's like 10 to 1 in favor of Republicans. Again, you don't have to believe me…look it up. For every George Soros, there were a dozen billionaires funneling money to Republicans, starting with the Koch brothers.
Stupid then. Stupid now.
Whose interest is it in to destroy the faith of the American people in their ability to govern themselves?
Most progressives can't even tell you What Net Neutrality is. I still have not seen a definitive answer. The best I have seen is this irrational logic:
1. We think there is unfairness somewhere in the internet or will be coming in a few years.
2. We think gov is some tool that creates fairness when in actuality it creates extreme unfairness and favoritism for cronies.
3. We'll give gov the power to fix fairness and worry about what exactly is unfair later.
Flummoxed.
No idea.
Nice job little boi, now go sit on uncle Georges lap an get your reward…

Hey good luck with that Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon technique, all the sh!t rags you read are piling it on, remember you heard it here first….much ado about nothing…bank it boi.

The best answer they can give you is usually "All the tech blogs are for it". Wow, so a bunch of pimple-faced virgins who never step outside their parents basement for anything other than Star Trek conventions are the guardians of free speech now. Its usually never pretty when nerds get political cause, speaking from my experience, most of them would be in favor of a worldwide gulag if they were provided enough mountain dew and 8-sided dice.
