Dems Block Amendment That Would Protect Taxpayers from Pigford II Fraud

The unaccountable lame duck Congress is preparing to put Americans on the hook for an additional $1.15 billion in spending on a Pigford II settlement program that is rife with fraud despite the fact that current law caps the amount to be spent on these claims at $100 million.
To make matters worse, the Democrats who temporarily control the Rules Committee will not even allow my amendment protecting taxpayers from this excessive and fraudulent spending to be presented on the House floor for a vote.
By cutting off consideration of my amendment, and by refusing to investigate serious allegations of Pigford fraud prior to voting on legislation allocating an additional $1.15 billion to the program, the lame duck Congress is, in effect, enabling Pigford fraud and this calls for an investigation by the 112th Congress.

The U.S. House on Tuesday passed a $1.15 billion measure to fund a settlement initially reached between the Agriculture Department and minority farmers more than a decade ago.
The 1997 Pigford v. Glickman case against the U.S. Agriculture Department over claims of discrimination against black farmers was settled out of court 11 years ago. Under a federal judge's terms dating to 1999, qualified farmers could receive $50,000 each to settle claims of racial bias.
The legislation passed Tuesday also funds a separate $3.4 billion settlement reached with the Department of Interior for mishandling Native American trust funds, along with four separate water rights lawsuits brought by Native American tribes. It had been approved by the Senate and now goes to President Barack Obama for his signature.
"It's vindication and justice for black farmers," said John Boyd, founder and president of the National Black Farmers Association. "This is what I wanted. I wanted a final restitution from the government so the black farmers can move on." ( and take over the USA)
Obama laughing said in a statement that the measure passed Tuesday would "bring this painful chapter in our nation's history to a close." ( Moochelle is very proud today)
"While today's vote demonstrates important progress, we must remember that much more work remains to be done," Obama said, ( meaning get rid of the crackers)
adding that officials are still working to resolve similar discrimination lawsuits filed against the U.S. Department of Agriculture by women and Latino farmers. ( i.e, women who are pigs for men's bank accounts and illegal aliens)
Boyd acknowledged that the $50,000 compensation for eligible farmers will far exceed the amounts of individual loans many were denied under discrimination cited in the case. However, he said, no amount of money could properly compensate for the discrimination experienced by black farmers. ( meaning we want all crackers money)
"I don't think this is about the money. I think this is about justice," Boyd said.
He rejected claims by Republican critics of the settlement that the claims process was fraudulent but will not answer why 0ver 60,000 negro by fraud applied for this giveaway
"This case was about justice for black farmers who waited for so very long," Boyd said, saying it involved discrimination, not fraud.

Yeah, I'm with you. Reagan was my first vote back in 1980, and I've carried the banner ever since. The really unfortunate thing for me is Cantor's capitulation on parts of obamacare. That bothers me. But that also ties into McCarthy and Ryan (the "young guns"). If these guys don't band together to carry the Conservative banner, we're looking at another 2 to 4 years before we can get real "leadership" in the House.
As for Issa, this is a guy that has made his fortune in the private sector. He's been hailed, not by Republicans, but by democrat staffers, as the "scariest man on Capitol Hill," because he doesn't care about who gets crushed on the Hill. I think the accusation is that in fact Obama is for this because of racial reasons (do you agree with this then?) – and the left, in what is basically their last gasp of power are blocking a more thorough assessment of this issue by the ELECTED representatives in the house who do not take power until Jan, which is a FACT. There is a simple solution. Now that the "settlement" is going to go through, assign a team to investigate EVERY claim and prosecute any fraud with the maximum jail term and fines. This way any freeloaders looking for "free Obama Money" will have to think before they cash in.
I'm not sure of my facts on this, so toss plenty of salt if I'm off; but It looks to me as though there almost had to be complicity from within the USDA, not unlikely going back a number of years. If so, it seems reasonable that the entire agency could be defunded, abolished, and the entire army of USDA personnel sacked. Then a smaller, more narrowly-defined agency could be established if necessary to handle any essential work, with personnel transferred in from other agencies being downsized (OK, that last part is just me daydreaming).

As Congressman Ted Poe said: "No business would fire someone then let them stay around and write checks for another month." That is what is going on in Washington. The Democrats have tried every trick in the book to keep up the crooked shenanigans they have been pulling for the past two years. I think these last few days for some of them will be the worst, as many of those who are voting will be out of office Dec. 31, and they don't care what kind of mess they leave behind for Americans. A law should be passed saying when they lose an election, they are OUT of office then.. Don't let them stay around to write more checks.

But I'm just old enough to remember what the country was like during the Carter years. The mood of the country was different, of course, the world was gonna end because of an ice age back then. But it wasn't any better. Carter called it a "national malaise." I call it Carter's depression. But whatever you call it, the mood was just as hopeless, just as cynical as it is today. And nobody saw a way out of it. Nobody believed a Ronald Reagan would arrive, and in a few short years, change the whole attitude of the country. But he did, and a lot of things changed that nobody thought was possible.
Now I'm not saying that we need to look for another Reagan to come along. That would be crazy. What I'm saying is we need to look for what Reagan brought to the country, a new vision.

Let's not put TOO much on just one guy. My hope is that he can get 100 – 200 agency STAFFERS to resign or be fired and MAYBE 6 appointed members of the O Admin. It is the agency staffers that are the most corrupt. Look at the ACORN fire deal. It was some obscure agency committee that over-ruled the investigators and awarded the money. In this case it is the agency staffers that will choose who does or does not get this Billion plus dollars. And do you think it will ONLY be 1.15 Billion? Or will their be cost over runs and additional claimants discovered. And when everyone has been paid, do you think this new agency will end? Or do you think they will need to keep their office open for 10 years to "monitor the progress"?
Now they won't even protect Americans' money against fraud? Taxpayers come in every color and creed.

Our federal government has gotten so bloated and incompetent, it's impossible to determine which bit of bad news is due to unintended consequences of good intentions, or plain old greed and corruption, or deliberately sinister and predictable results from subversive plots.
You can remember this event and teach your children but it will always continue to happen. Government, under both parties, is unaccountable. Wage slave? W-2. Independent contractor? 1099-MISC. You work and YOUR "INCOME" is reported. Independent contractor petitioning government for handouts? Nothing. "INCOME, REDISTRIBUTED" should be reported via a 1099-GOV.
