Administration Uses Obamacare to Unilaterally Stimulate Economy; Says, ‘We Can’t Wait’
by Dr. Susan BerryOn the same day that the Supreme Court announced that it would take up the challenge to President Obama’s healthcare reform law, Kathleen Sebelius, secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) launched the Health Care Innovation Challenge, a competitive program that will award up to $1 billion in taxpayer-funded grants to applicants who will “implement the most compelling new ideas to deliver better health, improved care, and lower costs to people enrolled in Medicare, Medicaid and CHIP…” At a press conference, on Monday, Ms. Sebelius said, “Efforts like these to improve the health of communities and reduce cost while sparking the economy are a priority of the Obama administration.”
Using the Obama administration’s new theme of “We Can’t Wait,” a slogan which refers to Congress’ inability to obtain the votes to pass the president’s Jobs Act, the secretary said, “In recent weeks, Congress has failed to act on the full jobs agenda, so we will continue to do what we can.”
A new Rasmussen poll, however, indicates that most American voters oppose the Obamacare jobs plan, and believe the president should wait to enact the plan in order to reach an agreement with Congress. 63% of those polled said that the president should wait to work with Congress.
Once again, the effort on the part of the Obama administration is an incredible usurping of congressional power, and serves to illustrate how the wide banner of Obamacare will ultimately be used as a shield for many purposes that have little to do with the actual delivery of healthcare. All the more reason for Americans to demand that Obamacare be suspended entirely until the Supreme Court delivers its ruling next year.

Silly me. In the "good 'ol days" the US Constitution made it clear that it was the House that did the funding and appropriations – not the Treasury or Fed Reserve.
Automatic funding of between 100 billion and 150 billion per year in automatic funding were improperly written into the text of the bill. So they get a minimum of that much each year by default.
Yet another reason to euthanize obamacare.
Get it done before the Republicans take control and try to repeal it. (The Republicans will need a majority in the House and 60 Senators to do it, plus a Republican President.) Obama, the time is running out. I can hear it ticking down. First of the year, the countdown really begins.
I feel you win this debate petee! Coupled with the earlier post that some Obama bundler shall "win" the award and cycle the money to the darkside.

As long as Obama is in office, there will be no improvement in the economy. Jobs are created by businesses, large and small, who have no idea what crazy thing Obama will propose to cause them grief. How is offering incentive for cost savings plans to be developed going against the Constitution? I thought the idea of finding new ways to save money is what everyone wants to do? That is part' n parcel to the ongoing debt crisis–medicare/medicaid cost increases. Helping cut those cost increases is good and part' n parcel to health care reform.
BTW, if you are referring to the overall health insurance mandate in Obamacare being heard by the SCOTUS as to it's constitutional validity then you know that as it stands now the ruling of the second highest level court in the land affirmed it's constitutionality. Unless and until the SCOTUS rules otherwise, it is constitutional.
Except for the fact that private sector job growth is good and companies have record profits and record levels of cash and many don't pay any taxes, pay very low taxes or even negative taxes yea, businesses hate Obama and are doing very poorly. Not. It is the shrinking public sector that is putting the drag on the economy bc those crazy, get back the WH at any cost republicans are cutting jobs and programs that support, create or protect jobs with a vengeance. Shrinking government is their mantra, along with rolling back regulations and cutting taxes further, claiming to eliminate uncertainly so the job creators can do their thing. Yea right. Problem with that besides the points I wrote above is that the job creators themselves don't agree with the republicans mantra. The job creators say it is about demand for their products. Increase demand, they hire.
Simply put, if the guy with the lemonade stand has no customers would giving him a tax break motivate him to hire help? Or, if he has customers beyond what he can handle by himself would higher taxes prevent him from hiring?
Saying Obama is anti-business is like saying the courts are anti-constitution or the DOD is ant-military.

michelle bachman pointed this out when the law was first passed. they funded it w/o congressional approval with 105bil i think it was (pls don't hold me tthat number), it's an amount that can NEVER be defunded now that the law has been passed. the other thing people need to keep in mind is that starting in 2013 there can be no more wavers issued, so any candidate who says their first move will be to issue 49 state waivers is not being totally honest (unless there's been some new development i'm not aware of)
