Gibbs: ObamaCare the Law of the Land by Next Sunday

Doing his rounds on the Sunday talk shows, WH spokesman, Robert Gibbs, stated:
Gibbs added that those on next week’s Sunday talk shows “will be talking about healthcare not as a presidential proposal but I think as the law of the land.”
It’s interesting to note that Gibbs did not mention the reconciliation package. In fact, there has been a definite cooling of the rhetoric about the prospect of reconciliation in the Senate.
Note to those members of the House, you are being duped. The Senate will not take up the reconciliation package at all. After the House is stupid enough to fall for their bait and pass the ObamaCare bill, the Senate will deem reconciliation an impossibility due to the Byrd Rule.
In addition, Gibbs stated:
President Barack Obama will look to campaign on the new healthcare law in midterm elections, Gibbs said.
“We believe healthcare reform is going to pass, and once it passes we’re happy to have the 2010 elections be about the achievement of healthcare reform,” Gibbs said.
The GOP would love to run on the platform of the Democrats ramming ObamaCare down our throats, and the Slaughter Rule will make it the ultimate death blow.
Either way, the Democrats will lose the House in a mauling in the November elections, as will the Senate, though the hemorrhage may not be as bad as the House because they walked away from reconciliation. Or it could be worse because the Senate reneged on the deal.
How do you spell political suicide? ObamaCare.

I watched the talkies this Sunday. Saw Robert Gibbs, David Axlerod and the rest of the Talking Heads, posturing and pontificating. I believe they are all like scared children, whistling past the graveyard, afraid of the boogey man.
I do not think Madame Pelosi has the votes. It is unraveling behind the scenes, and will continue to doso, unless there is some more high stakes deal cutting done this week. Barry is toast, and Israel is about to distract him.

Well, I live in Illinois, so there is no chance of my state getting on board.
However….I would like to share a story, in the spirit of the ridiculous obama care stories we heard at the TV healthcare summit.
I was in line at a convenience store in a small town the other day. I work full time, have a fairly large family, go to church, and volunteer a lot of time and money to my community. This person in front of my purchased two candy bars and two root beers with an Illinois LINK (welfare) card. THEN, she pulled out a $100 bill to pay for her smokes. I'm thinking, WTF….when was the last time I had a $100 bill in my wallet.
Welfare and public aid is out of control. Anyone can qualify. You don't even have to try and succeed in this country…the goverment will take care of everything.
I'm a reasonable rational guy. If obamacare passes, look for violence in our streets.
Remember when that happened in 2008, when they took the first vote on the TARP scam? Madame Pelosi assured everyone she had the votes. It was on C-Span,and every business channel. She looked like a plumb idiot.

If y'all watched any of the talking heads today on the idiot box, there was one recurring theme they all used.One word in specific. The word "IF". Gibbs, Axlreod, even Tom Brokaw. They were not speaking as statement of fact, but hyperbole and conjecture. The big "IF" of uncertainty.
All I know about that, is what my old pappy taught me when I was a kid.

Obama himself, like his AG, also presented some thoughts about how D.C versus Heller would come down. They sided with D.C. in thinking bans would stand when tested. They were wrong about that as Gibbs is now about this.
The health care reform action died the day the Senate passed a bill so radically different than the House did.
Democrats had 60 votes and could have passed anything they wanted to without any help. They didn't. The aren't going to now either. Cap and trade hit a brick wall, they went to health insurance. They wanted to turn away from health insurance to jobs when it hit a brick wall but instead the "jobs" bill met little to no interference. Look for them now to turn to Immigration reform.
Soda and candy bars are necessities in Illinois? Any item that is Taxed should not be bought with welfare.
Drug tests for all welfare recipients, food stamp users and /or subsidized housing users.
Glibbs could be wondering what his next gig will be.

What I find facinating about your 'position', is that you seem to not care one iota about any disposable income that poor people have each month. Money that they aren't using to pay the bills that provide their necessities. IE: food, rent, clothing, medical costs (ok, I know they are receiving medicaide, but, play along), gas money, insurance, etc. Generally, one would think that by definition, 'poor' people wouldn't have disposable income for 'vice' purchases or anythign beyond necessities. Anyway, you have no problem with how they spend their disposable income….yet you want to control (by taxing to kingdom come) the disposable income of those that are contributing to society by working in needed job fields, creating jobs and already paying income taxes?

Healthcare is already available to everybody at hospitals everywhere in this country. By law they cannot turn you away. So, really how do you think government is going to help? I suggest everybody, especially ANON to do this, and all who are for this albatross of a bill to do a little home work first, by going to your local hospital, and test this out with no insurance card, and then they will inform you were you should go next. Then you will be able to witness government health care first hand. Good luck.
This should be an exciting week for those of us who understand the importance of the economy vis a vis health care restructuring.
The days of taking advantage of the little man are over.
Unions are gaining political clout by the minute. Every appointment to a government office or council is a sign of this government's commitment to rejecting the status quo.
Clearly, people are excited about (if not confused by) the prospect of a health care system which does not discriminate based on things like 'employment' (a term which is often misused, btw).
And, as after this tremendous move forward, we can anticipate a move to reconcile the status of many misplaced word citizens. Citizens who contribute to our economy, I might add. Hopefully, we will do what is right. Get them health insurance and union membership.
Never could we have dreamed that, when we pulled the switch behind the election curtain, President Obama would move so quickly in enacting the type of change for which this country has been clamoring.

I have put myself in a position in which I can take care of myself and my family. Certainly, I think that it is fair that I pay more taxes than you do. Hey, I am successful at what I do. You aren't. I think it's fair that I pick up the slack and pay a bit more than you do to cover the cost of running the government, paying for highways and defense and education. No argument here.
My 'whining' is based on the fact that I shouldn't have to, year after year, be asked to pay for MORE things that don't have to do with running the government (see my previous list).

So I could explain that you either needed to have some sort of entrepenurial ability or develop marketable skills that people would pay you well to utilize. If your parents had done THEIR job, maybe you would have learned this and could have been a success.

It is amazing that anyone is supporting this health care bill.If the democrats, with their super majority, can't get it through without all the illegal bribes, there has to be something terribly wrong with it. Does anyone know what's in it at this point? I read there was something about school loans. Who really wrote this bill if even Pelosi has to wait until it passes to see what's in it. It's simply crazy. I just hope the advocates for forced abortions and mass sterilization, Czars Holdren or Ehrlich, had nothing to do with it.

I believe that since I am successful I should pay more to help operate the government. More for roads, military, education and the general operations of the government. Your lack of success dictates that if we want this country to function well, those of us that understood the importance of education and developing a marketable skill MUST pay more. My problem is that I am asked each year to pay more for things which are not related to running the government. I don't think protesting inefficiency and realocation of my income to those that can't achieve personal success is whining. Frankly, anyone who understands business understands that efficiency is paramount to profits. I simply think that a lean government that focused simply on retrieving solely the revenue necessary for operating would provide better efficiency and in turn allow the citizenry the ability to more effectively allocate their personal funds in ways that would better suit the economy. Thus providing more jobs. Thus reducing the need for smokers to rely on LINKS cards to free up their 'personal' funds.

No thanks. My EP/cardiologist has already said he's moving to a larger market if this thing passes and letting his staff go. We need malpractice insurance/ TORT reform, along with many others. And don't give me that 1% bit because it came from an obscure study done in '81. You should watch C-SPAN more often, especially when Queen Pelosi allows coverage. A government takeover will insure sub-par doctors and rationing of services, it's inevitable.
