US Census Form Letter Promises ‘Fair Share’ of Federal Money

Knowing that federal and state money doesn’t come from Obama’s stash and does come from our own paychecks and our friend’s and neighbor’s paychecks, I found the 2010 US Census form letter puzzling. Yes, I know that the census is required (but not all forms are completed) and helps allocate federal funds, but this was much more in-your-face and clearly baits the reader with federal funds that they “need” as quoted:
Dear Resident:
About one week from now, you will receive a 2010 Census form in the mail. When you receive your form, please fill it out and mail it in promptly. Your response is important. Results from the 2010 Census will be used to help each community get its fair share of government funds for highways, schools, health facilities, and many other programs you and your neighbors need. Without a complete, accurate census, your community may not receive its fair share. Thank you in advance for your help.

ABOUT THE 2010 CENSUS
The 2010 Census is a count of everyone living in the United States and is mandated by the U.S. Constitution. Census data are used to apportion congressional seats to states, to distribute more than $400 billion in federal funds to tribal, state and local governments each year and to make decisions about what community services to provide. The 2010 Census form will be one of the shortest in U.S. history, consisting of 10 questions, taking about 10 minutes to complete. Strict confidentiality laws protect the respondents and the information they provide.
According to the Constitution the census is to be taken every ten years to count the population to accurately determine how to apportion Congressional Representatives among the states. The census is also used to allocate federal funding to the states. Now, the White House oversees the census and Congress enacts, via law, the questions the 2010 will ask.
In addition, the census process has had to endure a White House power grab making Americans very skeptical of the WH’s true intentions. Moreover, there’s is some inherent distrust of how the census is designed and the information it may yield that could allow for a permanent Democrat-controlled government:
The civil rights community won an important battle today in the fight for a fair and accurate 2010 census that counts every person in the United States as required by the U.S. Constitution.
By voting today for cloture on the Commerce-State-Justice Appropriations bill, the Senate effectively ended debate on the divisive Vitter-Bennett amendment. The amendment, which would have forced the Census Bureau to add questions on citizenship and immigration status to the census form less than six months before the count, is clearly unconstitutional. Under the 14th amendment to the Constitution, the apportionment of members of the House of Representatives is based on a full count of persons – not just citizens – in each state. emphasis mine
Unconstitutional? Not sure about that if the people they are referring to are in this country illegally. But, because the citizenship question is not on the form, illegal residents will be more inclined to fill out the form.
Furthermore, the questions asked are quite intrusive and appear unconstitutional.
Finally, this form letter has all the characteristics of Obama’s “fair share” and ”spread the wealth around” sentiment because, as we clearly know now, he will return the wealth to its rightful owner–and it’s not the ones who earned it–because that wouldn’t be fair. And it’s disturbing that other people’s money is used as the bait to motivate people to fill out the census form.

I just got one of those letters today in the mail.. Kinda makes me wonder.
I put how many are in my home. For race I checked other and filled in the boxes with AMERICAN.
For who the NYSCA, Brecht Forum, Marxist School of New York, ACORNs reincarnated entities, SEIU or will they just cut out the middle men and give it straight to George Soros, Wadeand Dale Rathke or Andy Stern?
If you want any more evidence that our government is more racist than our people, just look at the census questions. What difference does it make what race people are?
So in other words, my neighbors and I should "juice" the numbers so Uncle Sam will break off more goods for our hood?
I find it ludicrous to burn up additional taxpayer funds by sending out a mass-mailing letter to tell everyone that, in about a week, you're going to get another letter. What kind of waste is this?!?!?!?!?!
Oh, wait a minute, I guess the admininstration wants to prop up the USPS as much as possible. Okay, now I understand… ;-/

By sending two lettere they have revealed their thoughts about us. We voters & taxpayers are irresponsible and will pitch the census form if they don't remind us to watch for it. They also think us to poorly educated to realize what the census is used for. You see, the study of the Constitution is not part of theprogressive grammar school curriculum.
And did you notice on the form that they asked the age and the birthdate of each person? Cause math is a problem for our government!

The actual text calls for apportionment of Representatives "among the several States according to their respective numbers, counting the whole number of persons in each State, excluding Indians not taxed."
When the prog.'s get all Constitutional they still ignore that which they do not like.
I don't mind them sending me a new form every 3 months or so. They burn pretty good, and wood is expensive.

I didn't have a census form delivered by mail, I had a 300+ pound black woman with what sounded like a NY accent deliver it to my front door. She was driving a 2010 Lincoln continental and dressed in what looked like a $500 pant suit.
Sorry, but from what they said at the start these census jobs in Arkansas were supposed to go to the state's unemployed, not to people from out of state that look like they've never missed so much as a snack, much less than a meal.
I don't think they'll like my answers on the form.
They'll only get the number of people who live here from me. I'll answer the other questions, but they may not like the answers. After all, that information exists in a government database somewhere. They should just get off their lazy butts and do their own datamining.

I live in a highrise and we have a gatehouse. I have distributed all the info I can find to my neighbors about the thugs they have hired to harrass those have haven't complied. We have all agreed that the guards are not to permit them on the premises as it is "Private".

I just finished my lecture on government grants for business funding. In it I explain that the middle class students and their parents in the room are the ones that are paying for these grants and do not bother applying. Then I explain that if you are not a handicapped, muslim, black, woman married to a native american convict woman, don't bother to apply!

I wouldn't say that I 'actively refuse to participate". I always tell myself that I"ll get to it just as soon as I am through with my tax return. Then I usually just forget or am too damn tired.

I would think it would be unconstitutional not to make sure that the census counts just citizens. I am disgusted that illegal aliens get a portion of representation, and more of our money the government keeps ripping off us. I am going to answer the one question, I live where I live.
So according to their leter if people don't want or need government money there is no reason for them to fill out the form, right?
How difficult would it have been for them to mention that it will determine how many resentatives your state will have in Congress?

Well I'm confused about this the more I think about it. I thought that the Census Dept was hiring persons who were unemployed to do the Census taking. I will say that if someone shows up at my door to do this, they best show me a lot of identification.

I have not received my census yet, or a pre-census letter for that matter. Do these forms say how long you have to respond to the census? I've been trying to sell my house in the SociaIist Republic of Washington for 450+ days so far and I don't want to fill out the census while I live in this blue sociaIist state, I'd rather do it when I eventually make it to the Free State of Oklahoma so they get credit for my residency. Even then I'll only fill out the question regarding how many people are in my household since all of the other questions are unconstitutional. If I knew how long I had to send my form back I could delay it as long as possible, hopefully to the point of where I have moved, otherwise I have a feeling I will accidently lose the form or never actually get it.

This is not just an article. They came around our neighborhood with GPS equipment about 3 months ago and took a GPS reading at our front door. I asked her what she was doing there and she showed me her Census badge. I told her to get off my property.

Because pre-civil war, a slave was worth 3/5 of an individual. Now in 2010, a minority is worth greater than 1 individual.
The fact is, the only time race matters to the government is when they plan to treat you differently (good or bad).

I wonder how much extra money it cost, and how many more government employees are required, to send out that letter and fund the whole advertising campaign for The Census than if they just simply conducted the Census.

I admit I'm a simple man, but still it makes me want to puke. Seriously.
The "race" question has been asked since, well, the beginning. And "are you a citizen" was not asked.
For basically the same reason. A slave – usually a "black" – was only part of a person in the counting for purposes of representation, and was not a citizen.
Of course, since "race" is defined as "a group of persons related by common descent or heredity" we could probably all answer "black" for race now, as it is generally accepted that all humans are descended from dwellers of the African continent. Or, too, "human race" includes all of us – as far as I know.
I will admit there is some point to the question, with regard to certain health concerns. Or rather, there would be if the question was more specific. Northwest-African "black" populations have some genetics-related health problems which are more rarely found in Southeast-African "blacks" (eg a pre-disposition to hypertension). Hemophilia is traceable to a subset – not the whole – of the "white" race. And so on…
What kind of questions did she ax you?

I agree, but this is why states like The People's Republic of California allow hoards of illegals into their state, so they can increase their progressive representation and power in D.C. and get more handouts at the expense of states that obey the law.
Since the census is used to apportion money, I will only tell them how many are in our household. That means that the less information, the less they will spend. Right?

Is that true? We only have to answer the first question? If you are suspicious of the person who comes to question you (their website refuses to say the groups like ACORN won't be involved), can you refuse and tell them to send someone else?
