The latest drive-by assault on Palin–that she wrote 6 words on her hand–is being treated like a national scandal.
How short their memory is. For that last year we’ve witnessed numerous examples of President Obama’s staged press events and town halls–most recently the Politico reported on Obama’s preselected questions for an Organizing for America forum on February 5, 2010:
The four pre-selected questions Obama took were the exact issues he stressed this week: health care, small businesses, jobs and education, in that order.
Obama is rarely seen without a teleprompter and in the off chance his speech writers can’t put together a masterpiece for him, it’s a disaster.
So, let’s take a walk down memory lane, shall we, because, the MSM seems to have forgotten the online town hall debacle and the control the Obama White House has had on them since the 2008 election. In addition, American Spectator previously reported:
Using a screen is nothing new for Obama; almost nothing he said in supposedly unscripted townhall events during the presidential campaign was unscripted, down to many of the questions and the answers to those questions. Teleprompter screens at the events scrolled not only his opening remarks, but also statistics and information he could use to answer questions.
Also forgotten were the preselected reporters, in addition to his complete reliance on the teleprompter–Palin was dead-on when she said, referring to Obama, that he was “A charismatic guy with a teleprompter.”
Palin spoke for over 40 minutes and only used note cards; but the media pounces over 6 keywords written on her hand–not even answers but words. Andrew Bretibart is right when he stated, “It’s you that sucks.”
To the MSM, so willing to assail Palin, I have a question. Why do you write your questions down?Can’t you memorize them? You only get one question to ask during a press conference, maybe a follow-up. What’s wrong? You need to write it down. Interesting.
Finally, rather than trump up Palin stories, couldn’t the MSM concern itself with some real news?For example, in 2009 Obama’s policies set a number of “records”, including record bank failures, record foreclosures even with assistance, record car dealership closings, and record lows in air travel.
And the one that poses the most threat to Americans–record terror attacks since 2001. Then there is the newly breaking story of Tim Geithner’s problems with the AIG bailout–now that’s a scandal.

I believe most of the attention that I have seen issue to Palin criticizing Obama for use of a teleprompter, but then reading her speech from note cards and whatever was written on her hand.
What were the words? "Don't forget to support John McCain"?

As I said in the previous thread on this topic, many many working moms will look at Sarah's palm and see their own: They do the same thing in their daily haste to keep the family humming along, so the Democrats calling them, "stupid" will only alienate them. Sarah so completely outshines Obama, she's make a much better president, like by miles and miles. Palin gets smeared six ways from Sunday along with everyone who ever stood in line at the grocery store with her, (like I have) and she still comes out on top, that's the difference between a Palin and and the O-fraud.
When Palin is untangling this mess, they'll try to say Obama did all of the heavy lifting, all the lifting he ever did was to dump more crap on the people. Get this guy out of office and put Palin in there, you know you want to. Get on then, quit your doubting naysaying and get out there and make it happen….they did…and they'll do it again if you sit on your hands.
Obama didn't need to write on his hand when he did a Q and A with the House GOP.
I can't comment on her support of Rick Perry, but it is my guess that she feels somewhat obligated to John McCain. If it wasn't for him no one would really know who she was outside of Alaska.
Why is this a story? Most veryone uses notes of some sort when they speak before a crown.

It's astounding that Obama becomes a complete muddled-mouthed uh-uh-uh-uh-uh when he is off the page. That means he's not saying what he thinks, just what his team has concocted for him to say to placate the public. We actually KNOW what Obama thinks – his early interviews before he ran for US Senate. "reparations" "redistributuion" "the Constitution is an impediment" and the nasty bit of "I don't know the facts but the police acted stupidly."
The media covers up all that and turns on a dime and projects all Obama's speaking faults to Palin who isn't hiding who she is.

Who exactly is criticizing Palin for that? I think the Huffington Post is the only one that brought that up…and they are about as mainstream as this site. The report I read in the New York Times was just informative. They didn't insult her. They talked about the controversy (getting paid) and talked about how much people love her. You Palinites are just as annoying as the Obamites.
And if we're going to talk "predictable, funny" criticisms: EVERY economists recognizes that these record deficits etc. are not a result of Obama's policies. It's the worst recession since the Great Depression and it has only been a year into a recovery. If we are going to responsible participants in the democratic process, let's be fair and thoughtful. If there is no appreciable difference between no and election 2012, then we can start lambasting Obama.

I have no problem with Palin using notes or even the handwriting during her speeches, however I do have a problem if she is going to criticize Obama for using a teleprompter when she is just using a lower tech method to accomplish the same thing he is.

What the hand notes reveal are just buzz words. She doesn't really say anything of substance when she speaks, just sticks a lot of buzz words together. And what she wrote down on her hand were the buzz words. And she gets $100,000 per speech.
Obama answered questions from the Republican House members at length for a long time without notes, and said much of substance. I do not see how you could compare him to Palin at all.

Budget spending planning for a given fiscal year occurs in the previous year. That means that all budget spending last year was the result of policies that went into place when "He who shall not be named" was in office. This isn't BIOBism, as McCain likes to call it. This is just facts. Most of Obama's policies won't go into effect until this year.

When the cameras are on Palin or anyone else that uses note cards, we the public know it. When you use a teleprompter, the camera shot usually doesn't include the teleprompter. It makes you think that this person is so brilliant because they don't need note cards. Palin isn't trying to fool you into thinking she has all the answers. Obama is trying to make you think he has all the answers. Think about it.
What I've found in scanning the troll posts is that the very same children who were screaming "RAAAAACISM!" every time we expressed the least displeasure with candidate ObaMao are now engaged in a vicious and vindictive form of sexism. Just think of what they'll do to Michele Bachmann should she be our candidate.
