Occupying Seven Deadly Sins
by Rusty WeissA friend of mine was recently opining on Facebook, in the midst of the Occupy Albany movement announcing plans for a Black Friday flash mob scene at the local mall – What are the Occupiers trying to get done? It is a question many people have been asking since the movement began.
Democrats, particularly Nancy Pelosi, would have people believe that this is simply a wonderful grassroots citizen movement, people exercising their freedom of speech, holding banks and corporations accountable, and spreading peaceful socialist messages of a perceived attainable utopian economic society. It is not.
The Occupy Wall Street (OWS) movement amounts to nothing more than making excuses. Excuses that legitimize a platform of laziness and entitlements, excuses to act in a lawless manner, and excuses for snubbing basic principles of civil discourse.
After pouring through reports coming out of the Occupy movements in D.C., Portland, Boston, Oakland, and on, and on, what the protesters most closely resemble becomes quite clear. Seven basic attributes define the movement in its entirety.
Wrath
The wrath of the protesters seems to be aimed mostly at big banks and corporations, though some have certainly expressed anger for other reasons. The rage though, has simply grown out of control. Witness…
- Police officers being slashed with sharp objects, and having chemical irritants thrown in their eyes.
- A clean-up of Zuccotti Park which yielded “knives and other potential instruments of violence in flower beds throughout the public space.”
- A 78-year-old woman suffering a bloody nose, cuts and large bruises after she was knocked down some stairs at a protest in D.C.
- A protestor throwing a fit of rage because employees at a McDonalds refused to serve him free food.
- Flags burned, ATMs overturned, and occupiers hit by cars in the street at a gathering in Oakland.
Worse, there has certainly been a tangible element of anti-Semitism at the protests.
Jewish citizens have been berated and slurred many times over. Here are a few examples of the Occupiers anti-Semitic wrath (h/t Zombie):
- A Jewish man being called the N-word in Zuccotti Park.
- Another Jewish man being labeled a “dumb mother______” whose people own “schools” and “government buildings”
- This gem of an individual claiming that Israeli’s lack heart because they are unwilling to blow themselves up in suicide attacks against Palestinians.
Greed
One mantra of the Occupy movement is their opposition to supposed rampant Wall Street greed. Hypocritical, when you realize their solution to such greed is to steal from those that have worked hard to attain their level of wealth, and give to those who refuse to reach such a work ethic. Money for nothing, a definite aspect of greed, seems to be no problem for the movement.
- Donations to the Occupy Wall Street movement have ballooned to over $500,000 in October.
- Protests have been joined by such 1 percenters as Susan Sarandon, Michael Moore, Kanye West, Alec Baldwin, and Anne Hathaway, seemingly unaware of their own wealth.
- Jay-Z designed a line of “Occupy All Streets” t-shirts that were selling at $22 a pop, and rather than redistributing the wealth in solidarity with the people, opted to keep the profits.
- Oakland protesters deposited $20,000 into an account at Wells Fargo, the country’s fourth-largest bank holding company.
Sloth
Indeed, nothing demonstrates sloth quite like having the ability to set up camp in a public park for three months while doing nothing. When Accuracy in Media delivered job applications and opportunities to the D.C. faction, the excuses for not taking employment were numerous, ranging from “Can’t work for… Defense”, “Getting a job won’t fix the system”, and quite simply, “We won’t do that”. As parents often tell their kids – If you worked half as hard on your job as you do at making excuses to get out of work…
Anyway, here is a list of other sloth-like activities to be found at OWS:
- Defecating on sidewalks.
- Defecating on police cars.
- Defecating in cathedrals.
- Defecating on doorsteps.
- Fleas and lice.
- Poor sanitation.
Envy
One staple of the Occupy movement is pure, unadulterated envy. They want what others have, and they want it without cost to themselves, either monetarily or based on time. They are envious of those with jobs, wealth, health insurance, homes, etc. It is the common attribute upon which all of the protesters rally around.
Pride
Pride can be identified as a desire to be more important or attractive than others, and failing to acknowledge the good work of others, a hallmark of the movement. Occupiers certainly have this latent desire to be identified as an important movement, comparing themselves to the civil rights movement, the struggle in Egypt’s Tahrir Square, and of course, to the historic protests in Tiananmen Square.
Gluttony
Two words. Michael Moore.
And not for the reason you may think.
OWS as a whole is not satisfied with having started a conversation about their principals in this country. The need to feed their pride has taken over, fueling a self-importance that must continue to grow through perpetual media coverage. Moore himself has openly expressed his opinion that the movement must continue to grow, encouraging the people to take their grievances nationwide, to grow ever larger.
Worse, Moore has essentially served as a spokesperson for the movement, while simultaneously living the lifestyle of a one percenter. He is gluttony personified.
Lust
Lust is generally considered to constitute an uncontrollable range of sexual thoughts or desires. The Occupiers seem to have an overabundance of this at their protests:
- A 24-year-old convicted sex offender having sex with a 14-year-old at Occupy Dallas.
- Rapes and instances of groping in New York’s Zuccotti Park.
- One rape victim was alleged to have been a deaf man.
- A female protester raped at Occupy Philadelphia.
- Women Only sleeping quarters had to be erected at the New York encampment.
- A permit was yanked in Madison, Wisconsin, due to public masturbation.
- A Los Angeles protester arrested for masturbating in front of children.
Despite this actually being a short list of incidences, the Occupy group in Baltimore issued a memo openly discouraging those victims of such attacks from reporting to the police. In essence, what happens at Occupy events, stays at Occupy events.
Is it fair to compare the entire movement to a certain percentage of participants committing such acts as the seven deadly sins? Perhaps not. But if we have to evenly distribute wealth and success throughout the populace, then the vices, excesses, and sins should also be redistributed.
Besides, it is, at the very least, more accurate than other comparisons being made (h/t Jawa Report)…

I hope this continues through 2012 right up to election time. I think Americans(normal ones like us) will have an absolute belly full. The further this continues the more violence will ensue out of frustration.Communists, Anarchist,Nazis, and other lowlife scum has been exposed for all of America to see. An extension of today's Democrat Party.
They forgot one. Leaving the area they use clean as it was before they came: Tea Party (Check)/#occupy (X).
Under anti-Semitism, you forgot to mention this guy, Rusty. http://weaselzippers.us/2011/11/25/occupy-miami-f...
Founder of the Occupy Miami clusterf–k and Punkastinian simp (yes, my abbreviation for sympathizer)
Time to cue up that Little Purple Prophet from the 80's… "All 7 and we'll watch them fall…"
Tea Party: Morals, values, principles and educated in History = Sane.
Occupying Flea Baggers: useful idiots with no values or principles, educated illiterates = Insane.
The "Occupy Movement" has harnessed all that is Anti-American. They are a great reminder that there is a body of people constantly trying to undermine our American values of productivity and contributing to society. They need to be watched and marginalized and kept away from our children's vulnerable minds.
That graph tells it all…. it makes you believe we all live with Alison in Wonderland, where the world is entirely upside down…… I feel like I've been living in it since the "o" took over our country.
Looks like indiepalin and all the other trolls to me.
Yup. Meanwhile DHS is publishing memoes about Tea Party bumper stickers.
I enjoyed this analysis through the "seven deadly" lens you chose, it helps to underline what many see as the negatives that are implicit in many of the signs, official statements, and individual comments made by OWS folks.
To gain sympathy from the average American, showing the virtues of prudence, justice, temperance (restraint), courage, faith, hope, and charity would have a far greater impact and generate true support.
Prudence (discretion) – That would mean that maybe you drop your "civil disobedience" meme and start to work on changing minds, educating, and above all, NOT BOTHERING PEOPLE. People do not like it when they cannot bring their kids to work, get to work, go to a store, cross a bridge, enjoy a park, etc. and when the reason is that there is a group of people who are inconveniencing them for some cause that is not directly related to them, frustration mounts.
Justice – This one is what they claim to be for. Yet even social justice, which is nothing more than a fancy method of word-smithing to hide communist, socialist, marxist values, should be carried out through actual policy – not a free-for-all party that makes you finally feel like you "belong" to something. It is not the average American's fault that you feel guilty for having opportunity and that you have been brainwashed by your sophomoric teachers and college friends. Work to change policy to bring about justice – or more accurately, bring about a condition where justice thrives – one like small central government and freedom.
Temperance – Oh boy. Stop being gluttons. Picket, march, and go home. Come back again the next day. Get a permit. Do things properly and NOT to excess.
Courage – this rarely comes from joining a mob. Mob mentality is counter to courage – it is actually weakness. The most feeble, frightened, and socially-awkward join mobs. Try courage. Especially the courage to read and learn what are the causes of that which you disagree with. You might find out that those who lead you are quite similar to those that lead pigs to the slaughterhouse…
Faith – It does not have to be God or Nature's God, but faith in things improving help to calm the spirit and make you more amiable towards others. They might listen to someone who is sane and not frothing at the mouth. It can be easy to have faith – look how great America has been over the centuries. We are cleaner, safer, and have more opportunities than most other nations, having faith this will continue is quite simple.
Hope – There was a reason this word was utilized by the current administration when running for office. Hope is something that runs with faith to allow us to keep pressing forward when it seems so dark. Hope is what counters they comment that "voting doesn't work" or "they control congress". Hope makes the calories of action burn more efficiently.
Charity – If the Civil Society was not being gutted and replaced with Statism this would be a great outlet for all of the marchers to expend energy in. Looks great on resumes and helps people directly. I wonder what a pool of OWS and the Tea Party would look like in numbers of those engaged in charity? Charity is something that YOU do YOURSELF because it is not the government's responsibility to do these things. It is OUR responsibility as citizens and members of the Civil Society.
I think that out of the OWS folks I could find may 15%-20% that could be turned from the dark side and shown the force of knowledge about true capitalism, civil society, and a constitutional representative republic. The rest of the snots out there will most likely release their views when their heroes admit they were wrong, when the mob dissipates to go and live actual lives, or in the case of the hard-core radical reds – from their cold dead hearts when they pass away to be recycled and used to make something else or more worth – as only nature can.
Finally, my comments remind me of Paul Krugman's article on Thanksgiving being socialist. Besides being completely wrong (it was private ownership that brought about the bounty – socialism almost starved the Pilgrims to death) he is also so blinded by his Socialist beliefs that his mistakes the actions of the Civil Society as actions of government or socialism. The civil society is (supposed) to be separate from government. We take care of things locally and for each other because we all live together in the civil society – not because Mr. Smarty-smart did a "study" and is going to "tell" us how to "fix" everything. Poo on him.
Big ups to the BIGs!! Keep the fight strong and the minds clear!
prudence, justice, restraint or temperance, and courage or fortitude, (from ancient greek philosophy) and the 3 theological virtues of faith, hope, and love or charity
Ahhh…Barry’s Brats, the perfect democrat.
Nick – I think I ended up with about 37 links in the piece above – and that is a short list! The wealth of material these protesters provide is astounding.
Thanks for the tip!
Get more popcorn. Now Los Angeles says their tent slum has got to go by Monday. Philly is shutting down their scummy tent slum. Pretty soon ows will be just a bad memory. What a bunch of losers!
Great analysis! You focused on the positive way that people should be voicing their grievances.
I'm always a glass half empty kind of guy…
OWS is a Satanic movement, their official motto starts with "we are legion for we are many".
They and their leader, President Downgrade, wish to install a global religion of the self and abolish God from the lexicon of humanity.
Jim Wallis (Rasputin 2.0) says that "you can't be a good Christian if you don't support OWS", he is asking Christians to willingly accept they motto aka "mark".
Sounding biblical yet folks?
When the celebrity supporters of these scuz-buckets give away ALL their assets, then I will take their lil "movement" seriously. This "movement" is the pure definition of ASTROTURF, bought and paid for by the elite. They claim collectivism is their core belief, but for some reason they are not practicing it.
They can KISS MY GRITS!!! Individualism and the freedom capitalism fosters is a roaring success, every time it's tried.
WHAT A COUNTRY!
.
What are the OWS scum trying to accomplish? Why nothing, of course. They are nothing more than useful idiots.
What are their masters trying to accomplish? Socialism/communism.
The politicians in DC have turned America into a plutocracy. It is time to throw them out.
Totally agree with you, Missy. Romans 1:28-32 seems particularly appropriate:
28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; 29 being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality,[c] wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, 30 backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving,[d] unmerciful; 32 who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.
Yer welcome. I consider it part of my job. Tipping. Cows or pundits, doesn't matter to me.
I personally believe that President Downgrade fancies himself the "12th Imam" and wishes to "bathe the world in blood", he likely sees OWS as a vehicle to that end…
Much as I'd like to think so, I'm not sure that the OWS mess has "backfired" on Democrats. What if the creation of disorder all over the country IS their goal? What happens if these useful idiots continue to cause filth and mayhem all over the country–will the current administration claim they've been "forced" to come in and take over from local governments to "restore order"?
What should this country expect? We've been teaching that theft is good, that there is no ramification to casual sex and that Christianity is silly, at least, and demonic, at worst. We are reaping what we've allowed to be sewn in our schools, our churches and our homes for 4 decades.
I love the checklist. Thank you.
Outstanding, Cowboy!
That was from The Jawa Report. Good site to check out!
And don't forget, their official Bible is dedicated to Lucifer, Missy.
Just sayin'.
You surely do date yourself with that phrase, One.
Maybe that's why we agree.
That's just the Alinsky bible, they have MUCH bigger plans, OWS is their gateway to hell on Earth…
"No one will enter the New World Order… unless he or she will make a pledge to worship Lucifer. No one will enter the New Age unless he will take a Luciferian Initiation."- David Spangler Director of Planetary Initiative United Nations
Good stuff.
Date myself? LOL, my friends here at the Bigs know I have no secrets about my "life-long experience", Nick. Besides, did'ja ever consider that I might have seen that show in reruns, or as a babe on my pappy's knee?;-D
Happy Trails!
; )
Oohh yeehhhhh,…..!!!!
What about all those nasty Tea Party anti Obama signs.
there is no doubt that the dispossesed will behave far worse than those who have…
So the list makes total sense. But the major flaw with OWS, and what will prove it's undoing, is the intrinsic link between the movement and international communist organizatons. Whatever legitimate greivance they may have had about corporate greed (30% credit card rates are evil) will be lost.
No one will want to replace a flawed sytem with a completely onerous one like Communism. Proven a failure everywhere it's tried, it crushes the one thing these protestors value most- free expression and dissent. Pepper spray will be replaced with bullets, they will be just as disadvanteged as before but this time without hope- and the rest of us will be brought to their level. This is not a recipe for success…
Nope! You saw it first hand and old enough to get it, just like me!
"I feel like I've been living in it since the "o" took over our country. "
I've felt like it ever since Clinton lied under oath…But it's all relative these days.
Yes this will be interesting to say the least. The city of LA's mistake IMO is letting them know in advance when they are shutting it down. This will give time for the black clad Anarchist and other loons to assemble and gear up for the "mother of all battles". I look for Mayor Villagarosa to back down like the coward he is I hope not. Let the skull thumpin begin!
Those who work hard will ALWAYS have more than people who want to sit on their asses, smoke dope, and have their food handed to them.
The moment we have a system where that this cannot happen (and we're close) people stop working hard. Or working at all.
Once being a parasite is more profitable than being producer, ALL production stops, and there is nothing for nobody.
I like to think of OWS as Obama's Willing Slaves (this encompasses the entire Occupy movement).
Let's not forget Nancy Pelosi, cheerleader for #OWS, denegrating Catholic's for having a conscience.
If that's the only complaint then its pretty minuscule. And I wouldn't mind anti-bush signs at the OWS (or anti Boehner etc). Fine by me, attack the true cause of this mess.
Yes they complain about pepper spray yet advocate giving even more power to the state. That's like giving Boss Hogg more deputies to bribe.
Obama's Occupy Movement is a true reflection of Obama's Democratic Party
Obama and the democrats own this movement.
Dispossesed? Disadvantaged?
You speak the language of the left, friend. Words like that evoke the notion of entitlement.
Priorities. Decisions. Choices. Also known as personal responsibility, are the things that will lead to attaining more out of life.
Equality is only existent when we speak in numeric terms. Equality is a quantitative notion. You can quantify opportunities.
Human abilities are qualitative. You can't quantify ability.
The recipe for success, in most cases, is individual.
If you don't want to pay 30% for a credit card:
-ensure you have built a good credit history (cards at 30% are reflective of issues on the CONSUMERS part)
-measure your priorities and decide if you really NEED a credit card. Are you buying groceries or paying rent? Or are you using credit to purchase more luxury type items that you don't necessarily need and just want?
If your priorities are not in line with your ability to afford them, then you are making a bad decision and the fault lies within YOU…..not an evil bank.

Is there any more proof needed that Marxists have successfully taken over this country? When will we kick them out?

That is so perfect.
2 articles for the price of one—Good Job!
Not in the Charlton Heston sense?
Yeah, but who wants them?
yeeesh……
Some of them, would be better off wearing Helen Thomas masks…..
not at all.
Some of the folk- early on- had a legitimate gripe about the steamroller effects of crony capitalism; executives voting themselves huge bonuses while the shrareholders take the pipe is ugly- and capitalism as it is practiced now is not the proper laissez faire capitalism of the past.
But if you are of limited means and get sucked in by a low interest credit card that due a to LATE payment you get socked with 30% that's usury, not business. No one disputes the individual responsibilty aspect; you are correct about it. We were just pointing out a few salient arguments the OWS crowd has. There were very few-
but just enough to help them garner some early support.
So we aren't disagreeing at all. Your bullet points are all accurate…
Janet Napoleon know who threatens America: patriotic Americans… just expressing the views of her boss.
Eh, ya get used to it, I haven't owned a vehicle in the last 15 years that didnt have a NRA sticker on it within an hour of me getting it home, I am sure I am on someones terrorist watch list.
HOW ABOUT A LITTLE MUSIC WITH THE CHART:

You also need to put democrat, and supported by Obama under the occupy column
I suggest we put it in OWS language: "Caring for the environment"!
EXCELLENT! 1000 thumbs up!
Another good job Honest American!
" the perfect democrat"
Dirty, stupid, violent, mindless zombies?
I thought the perfect democrat was only found in a cemetery.

There are as many agendas as there are Occupiers. In fact too many to name, but among them are 1.) Screw as many chicks a possible 2.) See #1 3.) See #1 & #2 4.) Well you get the idea.
I doubt occupiers believe in sin – deadly or otherwise. Sin is too judgemental for them. Only THEY get to be judgemental about what is owed to them just because they exist and they want it.
Anti- Dodd, Frant, Obama signs would be far more accurate.
,
Nice observation. If given the choice between 30% interest and Stalin…which would they choose? I know I would drop all credit.
As I've said all along, #OSW is simply a collection of "adults" who were never spanked as children. Thanks go out to all of those lazy, coddling parents who leave it to the responsible part of society to do the spanking.
A clear distinction is drawn for 2012. Marxism or or a democratic republic. Me, I am going to opt for the latter. At least I am going to opt for restoring the latter after Obama is sent back to Chicago.
They are the Flea Party.
The party of Me and what I am entitled to.
Apparently making friends wherever they decide to "occupy".
It is interesting that the writers themselves after their long list of deadly sins admit their whole attack is unfair: "Is it fair to compare the entire movement to a certain percentage of participants committing such acts as the seven deadly sins? Perhaps not. But if we have to evenly distribute wealth and success throughout the populace, then the vices, excesses, and sins should also be redistributed." As a sociologist (PhD) I see that the statistics quoted in the article are totally subjective and of very little value. Let's use rape for example. You would have to take the total number of rapes as a percentage of the total OWS population and compare it to a similar group who camped out overnight for a similar length of time to come to any conclusions. That would then have some meaning. We all know that rapes do occur in any population. The tea partiers were accused over and over of being racists which I don't believe they were. I am not a supporter of OWS, but as a member of a group (Mormons) who have been unfairly attacked for hundreds of years, I believe that criticisms should be fair and objective. I am also a strong supporter of the First Amendment for all groups no matter how disreputable they might appear to others.
There's a personality type that finds meaning and self-worth in negativity and protest. Feeling wronged, especially within a group that feels the same way, gives them an identity they can't get any other way. Plus, the whole psychology of the 'wronged group' allows them to commit anti-social acts they wouldn't ordinarily be allowed. This is the underbelly of our country, made possible by our president and his minions, like Pelosi and the other cheerleaders of spleen and entitlement.
Since the main-stream press seems to sympathize with them, I doubt they are sugar-coating the news pics of the gatherings I have seen. They look like a bunch of slackers and scummers to me. But maybe those are the best of the bunch!
wasn't speaking to the general idiocy of the crowd.
They never think about the consequences; even Billy Ayers- (BIG friend of Obama) told the FBI informant about their plans after 'collapsing the system'- prattled on and on about all the domestic things they would do
(not to mention the re-education camps and planned exterminations) but when askied about actually RUNNING the country he said this:
'Oh, well, we'll just have the Soviets, Cubans and North Vietnames come in and take care of that'.
So yeah, usurous credit cards are one thing. Totlitarianism is something completely different…
"The Occupy Wall Street (OWS) movement amounts to nothing more than making excuses. Excuses that legitimize a platform of laziness and entitlements, excuses to act in a lawless manner, and excuses for snubbing basic principles of civil discourse."
…in other words, it's a PERFECT manifestation of the warped, perverse ideology of lunatic-left d-cRAT socialism.
Tea Partiers are used to being called anti-government. When we stood opposed to President Obama’s government-run healthcare law, we were labeled “anti-government.” When we called upon Congress to risk a 2011 shut down in pursuit of real budget cuts, we were marked “anti-government.” When we refusing to raise the debt ceiling without systematic fixes to the budget process, we were branded “anti-government.” Even now, as we stand in contrast to rallying under the militaristic term “occupy,” yet, it is we who remain “anti-government.”
"The time is near at hand which must determine whether Americans are to be free men or slaves."
George Washington
You forgot to list "shots fired at the White House, yes from OWS and no from Tea Party, this is necessary to explain why Obama fears the Tea Party and not OWS …. some how … some way … maybe if i was stoned, on some really good weed, really good, it would have to be really good for me to be able to understand it.
How many harvard grads does it take to start a World War?
stay tuned ….
Great article. Lying Libtards try to twist and distort the truth about their braindead OWS tools….but there it is!
Although Chicago would likely welcome their home boy back, obama belongs in a prison cell.
Yes, I was sneering at their ignorance and arrested adolescence. I know they generally can't think past the "hopey-changey" part of destroying a functioning society. The ones who do are self-proclaimed "-ists".
I remember reading that tripe. These people live in a fantasy world. If Ayers weren't protected by Leftist academia, it is not a wild guess to suggest he would not be a tolerated by a smaller community that had to work to stay alive and thrive. Even without his horrible past he is not a grown-up. He was so enthralled with himself in the video where he was teaching the squatters how to squat. There is something viscerally wrong with him.
not all the women there are butch, so you have to sort of change it to "…whatever moves".
Dire Straits indeed
Naw… for the lefties, "caring for the environment" means mouthing the words, not doing the deeds.
Chicago has thought so for a long time… according to their voting records.
Precisely my point.
Occupy Voting Booths is coming. WE THE PEOPLE must cleanse the body politic, media, govt, and schools of the Marxist and Shariah lice infesting and sickening freedom. Don't tread on me.
Delete the Defecatos! Expunge the Democrats!!
Meh. Occupy Black Friday was an epic bust. These people can't organize their way out of a paper bag.
This is how we should clear the streets… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cWAqDlQ1CEI
It all boils down to one huge difference in OWS and the Tea Party:
Both support "redistribution of wealth".
-OWS wants to take money from you and give it to someone else who did nothing to earn it. You get nothing in return, not even a thank you.
-The TP wants you to WILLINGLY redistribute your money to a merchant or service provider. You receive something you value and you will likely get a thank you!
Anyone who sees the OWS crowd as anything other than a bunch of misfits and criminals is probably too stupid to find his way to a poling place to vote.
as Michael Savage famously says, 'liberalism is a mental disorder'…
Not sure we agree with that in toto- but when one accepts a flawed ideology as their religion- like Ayers and others- they become blind. Such is the case with this crowd; institutional blindness…
My brother is swinging to Marxism these days. it is like arguing with a new Zen convert. Circles everywhere. When they run out of the standard prepared statements, they start over. How someone with an IQ over 130 can fall for this nonsense is beyond me. I can understand the gullible or the 70-90 range, but people who CAN think, should.
When I hung in the heavily Left infested world of yore, I noticed that many very well-meaning people were sincerely into this class warfare and playing victim. Over time, I never met ONE of them that had properly dealt with the things that caused them angst in their past–parents, friends, lovers…they all carried the baggage we are supposed to work through by the time we hit late twenties. I was slow, but I got there.
I still see this movement as a substitute for the cults of the seventies, if you are "young" enough to remember. They lured people in with a sense of community and being an important part of something, The blind fidelity is no different.
liberal/leftism is comfortable because it removes the responsibility of self.
That's why a lot of ordinarily intelligent people embrace it. It is intellectually lazy…
Great. Insecure, irresponsible AND lazy.
sure you've noticed the same.
Hard to ignore…
…like a teenager in a snit.
