Eyewitness: Scott Brown’s Victory Party
by Ryan P. DixonI want to start off by saying congratulations to Massachusetts new U.S. Senator Scott Brown.
Secondly, as I stated at the beginning of the campaign trail. Either way this election went, it was going to be an historic one. Coakley and the Democrats would have changed healthcare forever behind closed doors. Brown has a chance to stop Obamacare, and is the 41st vote that would be cast against the bill.
My four day trip to Massachusetts was a great one. I was proud to volunteer for Scott Brown, and I would do it again in a second. I met a lot of nice people along the way, and left with some lifetime friends. This campaign taught me that anything is possible, and anything can change in a second.
Congratulations to Scott Brown and his campaign for this historic election.

I want to personally thank all the people from Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New Hanmpshire, Maine and several provinces in Canada(!) to come to the state to hold signs, and make calls for Brown. Mass voted, but It was a national effort.
Ryan – Thanks for letting us share your experiences, and so happy things turned out the way they did!!!!
Good job Ryan, thanks to you and all of the volunteers, for workin' so ha-ahhed back th-air in Beantown, on behalf of Scott Brown. Looks like you guys had a great night.
To the VOTERS of Massachusetts who made it happen…from Cape Cod to California…WE THANK YOU!
And finally, to Sen.Scott Brown (R-MA) …"Do you believe in miracles?!…YES!"

Congratulations!
Thanks also for all of the people who found a few more dollars in a tight economy to send directly and via the various "TEA PARTY" groups! Common sense Conservative Americans pulled together to support the best candidate in a critical time in our nations effort to reign in an arrogant out of control herd of progressives. These same progressives who have shown only disdain for normal people and family values. We have a win and in a few days begin to build on this for a successful November turnover.
After a day of listening to the drivel from the swamp to me it is obvious they know the words but will be unable to deliver the deeds we need. Over the coming months we will witness the walk back to fiscal responsibility and moderation in spending. It is just my opinion that it is too little and too late. They have betrayed our Nations trust and will not get another chance of of my vote. They have fooled Americans once and we need to make sure that they do not get another chance.
Great job Ryan! This video was great as well as your earlier chronicles of your journey. What fun. Keep it up.
Thank You Ryan and pals, for letting us share in your journey. You are awe inspiring. The youth of America needs to follow in your footsteps! I hope you make a documentary diarying your travel and triumph.
I honestly cannot understand why everyone is so excited about this guy. Joe Kennedy was the real conservative in this race. Yes it is nice that Brown will defeat Obamacare, but guess what… as a state senator Scott Brown played a large role in writing and passing socialized medicine in Massachusetts (aka Romneycare) which contains (drum roll) a mandate for everyone in the state to purchase health care! Does this mean we will now just get a bipartisan government takeover of the healthcare system instead of the Democrat one? I wouldn't be surprised if it did. The Republican alternative bill that was pitched was still highly intrusive. Will everyone feel better about national health care if it is presented by people with an "R" after their name? In a press conference today Scott Brown said he was not totally against a national health care scheme.
As a constitutionalist first and conservative second Scott Brown does not speak for me on a lot of the issues.
Great Job Ryan! – I was able to participate in this too from California, calling into my Massachusetts database of customers and prospects a couple of days before the election, you know, talking about our products a little, then working Scott Brown into the conversation.
The people I spoke to were energized over this ( all but 2 that I called). I came across at least one fence-sitter, who I ended the call with, "OK Patriot" She giggled. I know I got her vote. All her friends were Democrats. The other one I called who wasn't on board with Brown ,was an admitted liberal. We spoke about the health care they have. I think I may have switched him when I brought up how Medicare fraud is a 60 billion a year industry, and that when the government can prove they have a handle on that national program, then they can then be trusted with more. http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2009/10/23/60minut...
how dare they call our redsox hero curt shilling the hero that reversed the curse a yankess fan!!!!! while they were so foucused on curt shilling they dindt see the hail mary redux doug flutie threw to help put this game away for good! we have tome brady doug flutie and scott brown all probowl quality "comeback kids"!__and obama and coakley thought the get out the vote acorn people would get large numbers to the polls but it was more like the anti acorn anti voter froud get out and vte rally this election! i never heard of glen beck before the libs made him out to be so eveil i had to watch him and judge for my self even though i don't always agree with everything he says he makes good point most of the time and he always says if he is making up stuff prove him wrong while i don't always agree with everything he says I got to admit the truth is i haven't seen anything that proves him worng! i do enjoy watching his show and I bet tonites beck at 5pm is gonna be a very good show!
The guts of it, there was no way that the train was going to slow down without this win. Slowing it down gives us a chance.
I sure hope Brown's win can stall the insanity in Washington till November.
Erm… Just smack him if he embarrasses his daughters again hmm? (If my dad did that he'd be DEAD!)
This was not a republican victory. This was a unaffiliated victory for there was not enough republicans to win election. Brown must keep his promise or he will be gone that is the power of being unaffiliated. Without a party to re-elect the politician must keep their word or be gone.
4 weeks ago this election didnt seem to matter i never heard of scott brown and i knew it didnt matter even thogh i personally have problems with coakley and i would love to somehow metaphorically give her the middle finger i wasnt voting! then i heard of something this guy scott brown in a truck! i see the tide turning the word was spreading the signs were out hes a mass natiuonal guard one time he had a kinda funny pin up he seemed alright!

Nice job Ryan.
im a little offended at becks not as enthusiastic outlook for brown im entusiastic! but his nober line with the zero onit and the 1tick to the right mark was a very accurate was of how i see the founders of this nation just slightly right of center (zero) he hit the mark 100% there lets hope the swear scott in soon i wanna start pumping out the water asap! i defintly don't wanna junp off the ship into the icy waters when it sinks and hope the boats arrive before i freeze! everyone knows that ending alreay and thats not the conclusion i was looking for pump out the water and right the ship fire up the engines and steam on to america the greatest land of the free on the planet!
im looking foward to debarking this boat when it arrives safe in port to see my family!! not to jump in the water and watch those shiny bronze props sink neneath the waves for all eternity! that is kinda how i feel! thank you for coming out of state and showing me an alternative to a horrific ending! a hope to change this to the happy ending!!
god bless america and let freedom ring….. forever!!!
Let us here in California when you get back here know how we can contribute to you guys to help you out. We need to take this state back in November!
I think that miracles can happen but this miracle was backed by a lot of hard work on the ground and money pouring in from the grass roots organizations like The Tea Party movement, etc.
Glenn Beck's comments were congratulatory but muted. Maybe he does not realize yet the profound nature of this win. Oh, I think he might but he has been immersed in the nastiness that is behind the Obama admin and the people Obama has surrounded himself with and I think that may have made him just a bit hesitant to be as jubilant as his heart really wants to be. I say this win in MA is more than a shot across the bow of the policies that would bankrupt this country it is a real poke in the eye! Thanks everyone and congratulations to Senator Brown.
Brown's comments today 'We're past campaign mode. I think it's important for everyone to get some form of health care. So, to offer a basic plan for everybody, I think is important."
Hahaha, the wheel in the sky keeps on turning. Stupid politicians
Excellent point. I also feel that the true importanceof this election, for whatever reason, is being glossed over by almost all media sources. As you stated, there were not enough votes by Republicans for Scott Brown to win in Massachusetts. This was a true 'Peoples" victory, as people from all political persuasions came together in unison to fight the politics of corruption and entrenchment.I don't believe this fact was lost by the politicians, from Mr.Brown to the BHO administration(regardless of how much cover they tried to run), to the Republicans to the Democrats. the pols, while seeming to be frequently out of touch with voters, aren't that stupid, I hope.If they are, Massachusetts will have to happen again, and again, and again……………
Actually, if you'd research the speeches and memoirs, writings, etc., of our Founding fathers you would think, by todays politically correct standards, that they were all right-wing extremists. An interesting point to note is that many of the politically active men of the day were true firebrands, and a very high number of them were ministers! These men often worked politics into their sermons, and they were responsible for a large part of the patriotic fervor and groundswell of support for the new colonies in their quest for freedom and liberty

oh and if you don't believe me, http://c-span.org/Watch/Media/2010/01/20/HP/R/286... around 5:30, enjoy more of the same
Right now we do need this turn around.
you are right we have real problems in the government , we need regain our privet sector rights .
the future is not the R@D fight it is the government against the privet fight.
any public worker will seek for a party will give money and power to them, they are
well organized the privet sector need reduce the power of the Government by
setting sunset laws on all government regulations, so they can not culminate too much power.
if the democrats go forward with their agenda we should see the collapse of the democratic party to level of the die hards.. around 20%..
The independent/unaffilated will go above 50% in this country.
The only thing saving the parties right now is gerrymandering and election laws.
if we can force the parties to change the election laws away from re-election to real representation we can still save our country, but the die hards in both government parties would rather destroy this country than give up power.
thus we must keep playing wack a mole until the unaffilated are above 50% and can force change to representation, not party affilation.
country before party before there is no country.
I believe you but we are out number by a bunch closed minded government party members..
Thank you for your volunteering. It feels great to do the right thing and have it turn out just right.
California needs all the help it can get. A great state has been sabotaged by liberals in Washington, and Sacramento. I don't have to name them. You already know who they are. Pour the tea.
I was troubled to see Brown saying that he would not be beholden to the traditional conservative Republican values or principles. If this is his true sentiment, then I see the potential for Brown to be another RINO that can be perpetually peeled off by liberals for a vote that would be touted by the Dems as a "bipartisan" victory. We have enough Olympia Snowes and Susan Collins'. The last thing we need is a male version of the same thing.
I hope my concern is unfounded, but I worry that we may be declaring victory a little too soon.
You know how that's done? Precinct by precinct. Get involved in the precinct and you have a say-so over nominees, agendas and platforms of your chosen party. Light a candle or curse the darkness, but there is a way out. And no shortcut miracle workers.
National Precinct Alliance has some great testimonials about their effictiveness. Get excited. Get involved in the process.
he is a republican and thus part of the problem, but he served a purpose and since he is a republican in an independent state over 50%, not a democratic state like talking head call it. He will forced to keep his word or he will be out and I doubt he can keep his word for he is a career politician.
joan.. I believe in no party for they are the problem not the solution.
The fringe.. The all and powerful Republican Lindsey Graham called those who seek freedom in HIS party , “fringe”, I think I have heard those words before from some democrats. Too bad he was just re-elected by 58% of the vote.. Too bad the republican party is full of grahams and they have all the power and money..
Even though I battle republicans here it is to show them the light that the party doesn’t want your answers. Show all the grahams across this country that freedom and your vote comes with a price.
Register unaffiliated and fight back for they will not listen until they are forced.
They can’t win without party members and as long as you stay a republican they will always call you fringe and laugh. and win.
Brown won, and that's a great start.
But let's not lose sight of what he is, or what we are.
Scott Brown is called a "Republican moderate" by his fellow Massa's. That means that he's still somewhere closer to left than right.
He is ok with abortion, and that sucks.
He is not quite as fiscally conservative as he let's on. He doesn't value the market the same as many of us in flyover country.
And no sooner is he elected than Drudge runs him up the GOP flagpole as a 2012 Presidential hopeful.
Nope. He has to PROVE he deserves my vote and he has a helluva long way to go.
I am more conservative on things like the right of an unborn baby to live and the government getting out of our lives. I want to SEE if Brown is qualified to do anything more than represent people from Massa-two-$h!ts.
joe kennedy was never gonna win period he want to cut everything fire police schools etc he isthe extreme opposite of this pelosi ried nitemare but i think he would be a nightmare none the less nobody would vote that guy in just circle the guy with a D next to his name he only got 22,000votes out of 2.23 million no one will vote to cut schools it will never happen we like the fire and police service to not be so this also! reguardless of party or ideal there is a ton of crime around here!
kennedy was a pipe dream if you holding onto it thinkiing it would happen that you would be out of touch too!
people wont vote that way! those 22,000 were only people daying wow joe kennedy thats that joe for oil guy they filled in his cicle! thats how he got 22,000 theres no thumbnail picture of him on ballot some people are just dumb!
Thank You Ryan, I appreciate the video, too. Just think if Coakley would have won….She'd be to the left of Ted Kennedy. As far as the MA Health Care system, I heard that it was "tanking". Our Federal, Obama Plan is Unconstitutional….Let Senator Scott Brown be aware of that, please.. This race was terrific 1st run for us & MA.
Blue-State Massachusetts just elected a REPUBLICAN to fill the seat occupied for 47 years by Teddy Kennedy! How is that NOT a Republican victory, barbarian? He was popular enough (or Coakley was UNpopular enough) for him to attract almost 30% of Democrats and well over 50% of "Independents" to vote for him…again, a REPUBLICAN. He campaigned AS a Republican, announced traditionally Republican principles and vowed to vote as a Republican in the Senate. Again…how is this NOT a Republican victory?
Obama told Stephanopolis yesterday (paraphrased), Americans are so angry and frustrated with Republican Bush's policies over the last 8 years that Massachusetts decided to elect….a Republican! Huh? Talk about being in denial!
They will learn soon enough.. They still see a difference between the R@D show when in reality it is a government party show. the laws, money and closed minds are against an independent, even though they could have been the next George Washington.
This was not a republican victory. This was a unaffiliated victory for there was not enough republicans to win election. Brown must keep his promise or he will be gone that is the power of being unaffiliated. Without a party to re-elect the politician must keep their word or be gone.
Joe Kennedy didn't have a snowball's chance and then Coakley would have won. Brown campaigned on some strong conservative values. He was clearly the most viable candidate for Republicans to support.
And as far as I know, Brown didn't say he was for a national health care scheme… he said he knew the system needed some fixin', and he wasn't against making some changes. That's not saying you're for a scheme. He also has come out and said that the Mass. system has problems. So, you're misleading with that.
Did he say that that means a government run system? I didn't read that in your comment.
The Republican party has not said that changes can't be made… you're reading too much into this.
first the state has 50% independent. thus it was not a democratic state. with out independents he would never gotten elected, nor will he be re-elected if he doesn't keep his word. The republican can't keep him in office.. He is a rino and if you want call him a republican it proves my point. now the truth is.. if we the people haven't been raising a fuss he never would have been elected. The republicans sat on their hands and hid their faces until they saw which way the wind was blowing.. So in reality he was elected strictly to send a message not because he was a REPUBLICAN.
He would immediately lose my vote for president for the pro-choice shit. He's not Republican presidential material.
Your logic doesn't make sense. When Obama won in Republican districts with hardly any Dems, was his win an unaffiliated victory?
The guy has been elected for two days. How about we let him get to Washington and cast a few votes…
he is a republican and thus must be hammered everyday so he won't stray to the dark side..
Mostly agree with your comments. Would like to suggest that the health care program in Massachusetts is the states' business. If Scott Brown adheres to the principle that health care is NOT the Federal government's business, then he should be OK. Would at least be in line with the 10th amendment. We shall see.
he supported romney care and was a big player in it. but he said he would kill this bill..but he left an unclear like politicians always do what he would next. he did spout the repulican line, but threw in the word compromise. to me typical rino talk, but if it kills this bill it will do for now.
Hopefully, Scott Brown will help stop the Obama Marxist/Islamic attack on our economy and it will continue to occur in October big time! I know in the Bible according to the blessings/curses of ISRAEL (not Judah) that our ECONOMIC RECOVERY will BEGIN IN FEBRUARY 2012, INDICATING THAT OBAMA'S MARXIST MOVEMENT WILL BE STOPPED, BUT I STILL WORRY ABOUT JACOB'S TROUBLE AHEAD. When? I DID HEAR THE THESE "MARXIST" ("MAOIST") ARE OUT TO STOP INTERNET USE FOR FREE COMMUNICATION!!! OOCH!!! AGAIN, THANK YOU MASSACHUSETTS! THANK YOU MASSACHUSETTS! THANK YOU MASSACHUSETTS!
Exactly. Killing the bill was the most important thing. Slow the process down. It's not like Brown is going to rewrite the bill himself. Republicans will have to be part of the process. And then maybe we actually get some common sense changes that will actually help lower costs, etc.
The big picture was the bill had to be killed. Yes, Brown may have been unclear with what he does after, but dude is one of 100… and he's admitted to the problems with Romneycare. That is a good thing.
This dead HC bill talk has happened before, I believe the dems will push forward..they have no choice, this is not about the people or HC it is about campaign funds they are going need alot of money to defend their seats..
Spending NEEDS to be cut. What would the cuts reduce the government revenues to? Maybe mid 1990's or early 2000 levels? Was the Mass. state govt. on the precipice of collapse at that time? This is the attitude that allows govt. to expand endlessly. We can't cut this or we can't cut that. You either spend less money or you don't. Spending for schools? The government shouldn't even be involved in education at all. Since it has been involved our population has gotten dumber and dumber.
Note that Dangerous Doug Flutie was in attendance. A winner supporting a winner.
Sorry, but that's not what Brown said at all. What he said was that he didn't say he was going to kill healthcare reform. That is not the same thing.
Given that there are some things we can do as part of "healthcare reform" that even conservatives agree with (e.g., tort reform), I don't have issues with what he said.
We may all end up having issues with what he DOES — but that's our job to keep his feet to the fire. If he stops listening, he'll realize the error of his ways pretty quickly.
Precisely. Being a State "liberal" does not make one a RINO. State and Federal politics are quite different.
I believe they will too… but nothing is cut and dry. We take it every step and do what we can to kill it and force a better solution.
It's a good thing that old ted kennedy died . He did us a favor by getting out of the way. They wanted to credit this health care bill to the late senator kennedy. Well to his credit I say we lay it to rest right be side him and get them a double head stone that says HERE LIES TED AND HIS HEALTH CARE BILL. IF WE HAVE THIS BILL PUT ON US WE WILL ALL BE IN THE SAME PLACE SIX FEET UNDER.
To say the least, it is going to quite interesting when Senator Scott Brown happens to pass by or run into Rep. Murtha in the halls of Congress. Murtha is not very popular with the veterans groups and especially any active members who keep tabs on the dealings with Congress and here is why:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hMedVWUsSFU&NR...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ywgUCdefSW8
I wouldn't be jumping for joy so fast
Scott Brown 24hrs later "we are past campaign mode" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5L7n8vyz0xk
1 word…. HUH?!
America you keep doing the same things over and over again when it comes to dealing with all of this expecting a different outcome!?!? Thats insane!
Your playing their game… STOP and play your game through http://www.savingtherepublic.com
thus why brown is so important. the message was sent. we can turn the fight all about them seeking campaign funds and not helping anyone.
I agree with you.
The only way to cut spending right now is to fight raising the debt limit because that will FORCE them to cut spending….
Thanks, Cowboy. I know I'm a vitriolic SOB, but I think I'm pretty rational underneath. When I get agreement from a guy like you, whom I respect….that's pretty good.
I don't trust Brown. He's praying too much at the alter of "bi-partisanship" and strikes me as a pretty boy driving around in a gimmick pickup truck.
I wanna see him telling the Feds to get out of my life consistently. Then, I might be willing to overlook the pro-choice crap, because the right work there let's me further a pro-Life agenda at the state level.
Ya gotta watch those guys driving around in those old pickemup trucks. As I recall, that was one of old Sam Waltons props, and look what that got us……….
