In the two previous blog installments “Part 1: Quid Pro Quo” and “Part 2: Get Out Jail Free Cards” the real-life scandal of government union boss Ron Saathoff is documented. “Part 1” exposes Saathoff’s abuse of his position and taxpayers to reap a special taxpayer-funded retirement increase...

Forensic science wasn't very well developed at the time. They've recently made a new discovery about Gandhi's death, that Nathuram Vinayak Godse was actually contracted to murder Gandhi in cold blood- you guessed it- it was Bushes fault! He took a time machine back and…
Ok, the life and message that Gandhi brought to the world deserves more than that.
Great story, told in full at http://www.progress.org/gandhi/gandhi01.htm
(by the way after perusing the rest of the website "Progress.org" I have no doubt they blame Bush.)
Good thing that the Clintons and Liberal elite keep Gandi's name in bad joke!
"Among the many misdeeds of the British rule in India, history will look upon the act depriving a whole nation of arms as the blackest."
–Gandhi
"Religous extremist"? Is that code for 'typical Muslim'?
Gandhi wasn't perfect (for example, his advocating that the British lay down arms and let the Nazis do whatever they wanted was nutty) but he was a great man who was definentely the right man for the time. His dedication (later in life) to pacifism made India and Pakistan's independence from British rule a lot less bloody than it could have been.
Gandhi's non violent civil unrest that he advocated to bring about social change is nothing like what we are experiencing with the OWS crowd.
Gandhi
I wonder if he could succeed today?
Times have changed but people remain the same.
I wonder how long before the burning of books begin.
It is clear the burning of peaceful words has begun.
Unpopular words do not make them wrong, just unpopular.
The report button is too the right.
The hateful thumb is too the right
Reply is to the left
Democrats/republicans have made a mess of our country. This can not be denied.
Political greed has a price and every private sector worker will be stuck with the bill.
No, apparently not. A little research revealed that a fellow Hindu killed Ghandi because Ghandi was too much of a dhimmi.
And so it begins #SuperBowlHype
Churchill or Gandhi ? They were bitter enemies, but most people now revere them both. Which one would you have sided with THEN ?
We've been handed that bill already. And our children's children will have to finish paying it off. You are so right about it being the private sector, Serf.
Gandhi could succeed today, but only in free western cultures. If he was in China, he would be shot and buried in an unmarked hole.
If he was in Iran…shot, buried, unmarked hole.
West Bank, or Gaza…shot, buried, unmarked hole.
Venezuela, Hugo Chavez would have him…well, you know the drill.
Only in free, open, and tolerant societies with a Judeo-Christian ethic that permeates the collective psyche can someone like Gandhi flourish.
Good to see you about my friend!
Good to see you
It is an honor to trade words with you. I wish more people had your tolerance and talent.
I like a good debate it tests your beliefs and knowledge. I don't mind being shown wrong it is how I learn. It is sad too many have closed their minds.
Be careful out there in comment world.
Thought and reason is coming to end.
There is times for Churchill and times for Ghandi,Churchill when another leader can't seem to understand the nature of trap set before you? In a uncivilized nation. Ghandi when dealing with Reason, ethics and Christians.
"We believe as much in the purity of race as we think they do, only we believe that they would best serve these interests, which are as dear to us as to them, by advocating the purity of all races, and not one alone. We believe also that the white race of South Africa should be the predominating race." ~ Gandhi
Gandhi was your typical political opportunist who said one thing in trying to get the Brits out ("peace" because he knew he could not defeat them militarily) and another with other people he called to be slaughtered. But Eastern philosophy has no way to center itself in any moral commands (see my chapter on this very subject, "Reincarnation vs. Laws of Logic": http://www.scribd.com/collections/2649254/Worldvi...
I guess no discussion about whether or not India is better off without British rule.
Or maybe the other discussion of is the world better off from the outcomes of British rule. Had the British not conquered all the tribes in middle east/indo-asia, would we have been better off if they were never organized.
Wow, your are both kind, and gracious. Just finished making coffee, sat down and read your comment.
Now this is a nice way to start my day! Thank you, Serf.
I think it's you who needs to be careful out here in comment land. People see you saying I'm "tolerant" or "talented" and they'll think your either a big fat liar, or your hopped up on drugs. Maybe your both…a doped out liar, ( notice I dropped the fat part, that wasn't nice of me.) lol
i call them as I see them..
thus why I am having so much fun with my fan club here.
I read your words.. they are good words
After independence India plunged into civil war. Like Iraq was supposed to if we got rid of Hussein. I guess Gandhi was one of those crazy neocon persons who don't understand how stabilizing dictatorship and imperialism are.
Liberals must really hate Gandhi's guts. I wouldn't even mention Gandhi to a liberal because I don't want to hear them rant.
Gandhi: "My nonviolence does not admit of running away from danger and leaving dear ones unprotected…Where the choice is set between cowardice and violence, I would advise violence…I would a thousand times prefer violence than the emasculation of a whole race. I prefer the use of arms in defense of honor rather than remain the vile witness of dishonor."
Gandhi was just another bigoted opportunist, using whatever tools he had available to pursue his own aggrandizement.
When it was convenient for him to promote apartheid he did just that, only opposing the part that labeled him as inferior while happily endorsing the parts that labeled others as inferior.
India suffers more from his cult of personality than it ever suffered from British rule, and I've got no use for British rule.
He is a perfect example of everything wrong with would be saviors promising hope and change.
