BREAKING: Palin Urges Romney to Release Tax Returns, Provide Proof of 100,000 Jobs Created at Bain Capital
by PubliusFormer Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin has called for Gov. Mitt Romney to release his tax returns, as well as the data that could substantiate his claim of having created 100,000 jobs as CEO of Bain Capital.
Romney has resisted releasing his tax returns, and his campaign has thus far refused to provide the hard proof to back up his claims about Bain.
“Governor Romney has claimed to have created 100,000 jobs at Bain, and people are wanting to know: is there proof?” Palin told Sean Hannity on Fox News.
Rick Tyler, former Gingrich aide and head of Newt Gingrich’s Super PAC, has already accused Romney of having created those 100,000 jobs in Asia and Mexico. Earlier this week, Big Government pointed out that Romney’s claim to have created 100,000 jobs contrasts with claims he made during his 1994 U.S. Senate campaign, when he claimed to have created 10,000 jobs at Bain. Romney retired from Bain Capital in 1999.
Palin said that Romney needed to come clean about his record, given the likelihood that Democrats would probe the tax issue and Romney’s tenure at Bain if he were to become the Republican nominee.
The former Alaska governor also told Hannity that she did not think it was inevitable that Romney would become the Republican nominee.
“The majority has not yet coalesced around one,” she said, adding that conservatives were still searching for the right “free market, pro-military” candidate to back.
She also attacked the Obama administration’s creation of large new debts, excoriating the president for cutting defense spending before doing anything to address the financial instability of America’s entitlement programs.
Palin will be keynoting the February 11 CPAC convention, as announced on January 5, 2012.

Romneys' Capital Song
I would cut employee hours
'till the venture sours.
A company down the drain.
And a plant I'd be scratchin'
pad-a-locks would be a latchin'
If I only had a Bain
A class that was the middle
is just an individal
Can't bother with their pain.
'Cause there's bucks to be makin'
Millions there for the takin'
If I only had a Bain
Sarah is correct here, but the Liberals are already pouring over every single time Romney changed his socks, so every aspect of Bain will come out soon.
This infighting over free market Capitalism is stupid, just plain stupid for the Republicans. Obama counts on division, he has made it one of his key elements of his existence in politics and with the help of the OWS dregs, he will win if everyone (Republicans) keep attacking another Republican over Capitalism.
This is about a Fascist man who wants to "rule" America, fundamentally change it. THAT should be the topic.
just when Mitt was starting to get in cruise control mode…
Bain Capital rears it's head. And considering the dour take on capitalism by the fascists currently in charge of the country, Romney has, in the immortal words of Ricky Ricardo, 'Got some 'splainin' to do'.
He'd better get on it, and quick. Lady Sarah has been keeping her powder dry while waiting to see just HOW the nominating process goes, and one always expected she'd hold the presumptive nominee's feet to the fire.
Good. Better her, and now- than Obama and later. Get on it Willard, and it'd better be good…
That's kind of good.
Uh-huh… Yep, gonna let the "process" play itself out and come November I will vote OMG! (Obama Must Go!)
NONE of the current field excites me in the least, but the prospect of DEATH at the hands of the current Marxist/Fascist-in-Chief is just too much to swallow.
If you don't vote for whoever the hell is opposing Obama you are cutting off your nose to spite your face. The injury is yours, you will own it….
Hell, I'll even vote for Ron Paul if he gets the nomination…
He won't, but I would – if that was my "choice"…
I imagine Romney is waiting until after he gets the GOP nomination locked up before he plans to release his tax returns.
The Bain job claims could probably be provided pretty soon. I've already heard counts like 45,000 employees at Staples, etc.
We really better elect some conservative Senators, as well as some more conservative House members. If Romney is the candidate, we will need to protect our interests via the legislature.
yea sarah!
Not only a "King Maker." Seems she can be a King Breaker as well.
Sarah will have more impact then all Leftist media hacks combined.
The "splainin" would go a country mile over the heads of the average voters. I would ask if those companies/businesses/ventures would have collapsed entirely and left ALL of those people unemployed. I would also ask what the "vulture capitalists" had to LOSE if their gamble proved wrong.
We hear plenty about when "greed" wins, but somehow the press isn't interested when the "vultures" shrivel and die in the desert. I guess only "success" sells in this type of case…
Mitt is weak. Not surprising so much that a man without a truly moral foundation is incapable of making a moral argument. You know what I mean, but most others won't…
Where is the candidate that will defend Capitalism on moral grounds???
It should be soooo easy…
Something smells fishy about Romney's hidden tax returns. Not only is he Obama-lite (as opposed to Ron Paul, the anti-Obama) but Mittens even hides his documents like Obama!
You need to be officially in the race for the Office of President, Sarah.
You know it, I know it and so do oh so many others.
Sarah, you said so many are still looking for a candidate to coalesce around – and you are right. Abso-smurfly right.
We are looking for your candidacy, Ma'am.
Some of us are committed to voting for you regardless….
Except for Ron Paul, it makes NO DIFFERENCE who you vote for, because they're all part of the two-headed, one-body progressive party.
I was never clear on what Romney said. Was the 100, 000 claim for his time at Bain & Company and/or Bain Capital and/or all the companies they invested in and/or the Olympics and/or when he was Governor of Mass.?? All of the above?
All I know is that no matter how many jobs Romney created, it's a hell of a lot more than 0………….that would be Obamas number.
LOL! wes, that's funny. If I only had a Bain!
You first , Mrs. Palin. Tell the American people about your disastrous programs, ACES and AGIA, which destroyed the possibility of a gas pipeline in Alaska, and how ACES slapped a progressive tax on the oil companies here, which has led to the loss of high paying jobs in the oil industry. The oil companies are leaving so they can make a profit elsewhere. Fortunately, our current governor acknowledges your mistakes , and is trying to rectify the problem.
If I were you, I would fess up so you can at least be a viable candidate for prez-if that is your intention.
And why has no one on this site really studied her record?
The more Mitt gets behind him now the better – he does not need surprises –
What is clear is the world does not or does not want to understand these investment firms. Yes they make money on fixing companies that are mismanaged or they can make more profitable by doing something. Changing or removing people is only one method.
Maybe Mitt should refocus on the taxes he paid – that would require a tax return
Marxists don't provide proof of their claims.
Gave you a thumb's up there 1212
fantastic.
Sarah,… Sarah
I just knew you would get it right.
It's even better when you sing it. But, now I can't the dang thing out of my head! Arrrrrg!
The Olympics jobs don't seem like permanent ones to me. That comes and that goes.
MA produced around 16k jobs in Mitt's 4 years if I'm informed correctly. That's terrible performance because MA isn't that small and these were boom years where most states were growing fast. In fact, it was 47th out of 50 and the government grew a lot (as did the regulations… romneycare alone is not easy on MA employers).
So we're up to 26k assuming Romney's 10k boast was accurate.
Regardless, you are right that this is all superior to Obama's numbers, but again, Romney did not govern in a recession and Obama has. While this is not a good reason to support Obama, it is a relevant point.
Another coward on the sidelines, taking shots at the great man who will save us from Obama. I wish Romney would unleash the superpacs on her for just 1 day. If only she would run.
Except for her economic policies in Alaska-do the research-but you people won't.
O has killed or prevented several million jobs in the U.S. But that's being unfair. He has saved or created thousands of jobs overseas.
Hey its Andrew Halcro!
Still hurtin' over 2006, champ?
If you look at Bains investment companies like Staples, Sports Authority and Domino's I bet that adds up to a lot of jobs. And, if you count jobs "saved", he did pull Bain & Company out of the toilet.
They really need to just get this out of way and focus on Obama.
Halcro and Palin are both f%^$ing jokes. I WAS going to vote for her in "06, until I realized what she was.
Do you live in Alaska? Did you vote for her? She has a 68% negative rating here-she would lose her home state in a presidential election. Fortunately, we have a governor who is now trying to extricate the state from her bad business deals.
I just envisioned Romney and Obama, during a debate, arguing over who created more jobs overseas. Ugh!
Why are you people so scared of researching Palins record ?
just close your eyes and click your heels.
The research that should have been done was,…..
on Obama, but,……..
"you people won't"
You mean there's stuff on Palin that isn't out yet,…??????
The head on the Left side of the body has a bigger mouth, sharper teeth and a larger appetite. I attribute that to a lack of shame for their immorality.
I (WE) could bruise and bloody the head on the Right side and possibly quell it's appetite somewhat. It MIGHT be capable of being shamed, and thus taught or forced to be more moral. The DIFFERENCE is a chance at survival and the possibility to live to fight another day.
Ron Paul is a f'n FOOL where foreign policy is concerned. HE may be rational in his desire for how the people and governments of this world should relate to and interact with each other, but a small cadre of very powerful THUGS doesn't quite see it the same way he does… They are collectivist gangsters and thieves. They want to RULE… They only understand guns and threats, and thus need to be dealt with accordingly…
America IS Rome – whether we care to accept it or not. The U.S. Navy exists to protect the free passage on the High Seas for all. It is THE protectorate that allows you to have the fine and luxurious lifestyle that you and many sailors and their families enjoy. It IS "law and order" in the jungle of "humanity".
Be a fool and vote for Ron Paul as a "third party" candidate. All I ask is that you wear that proudly and visibly so I can pass your bloody, dying body by when I search the wreckage for someone who actually cared enough to fight the rational fight…
There may be no good choices, but one will be better than the other.
Obama Must Go!
If you won't take the "winning" side in that fight then you are my ENEMY…
NO quarter…
Have another beer – it will help you to "feel" better…
Well, at least until it wears off…
And people who say "Marxist" aren't taken seriously by serious people.
Correct. He should have been vetted. If you are insinuating that I voted for that POS 0bama , you are wrong. I knew what he was before he even became the candidate for the demonrats and the CPUSA. As far as Palin is concerned-tell me about her programs ,AGIA and ACES. Tell me why she wouldn't eliminate Alaska as a sanctuary state for illegals-tell me about the $500 million she gave to Trans-Canada.Tell me why she let the supreme court of Alaska make a judgement on notification of parents of minors in regards to abortion-the bill had passed the senate and house here, and it was the first item on her agenda-and the supreme court of AK had to do it for her
Do you live here ? Do you truly know her record ? I don't think so.
Romney already said he had documentation on jobs created. Wrong move Sarah. First time I've disagreed. Businesses have records. He stated that is probably under-stated, meaning more jobs have happened. Not the same as lying government records manipulated for the public consumption.
Romney is still a private citizen until he becomes the nominee. Why beat up on Republicans and legitimize Paul's left wing followers? What has happened to you?
Yes. The Lame stream media only wanted dirt on her personal life. It is my belief that they are saving it for a rainy day. The sooner she comes clean and admits her mistakes, the better off she will be. I am not saying she hasn't learned anything, but admitting mistakes she made as governor now before theLSM does would be a good thing for her.
Gingrich is a sociopath and Romney is an opportunist. I know I'm paranoid, but I think these two traitors in waiting have been working together all along to make sure we don't get want we want.
"Be a fool and vote for Ron Paul as a "third party" candidate. All I ask is that you wear that proudly and visibly so I can pass your bloody, dying body by when I search the wreckage for someone who actually cared enough to fight the rational fight… "
Well said.
I expect that Romney isn't sharing his personal finances yet because his great wealth will be found annoying by those who did not achieve it. Envy is a poisonous form of mental illness which aims at destroying the successful so that the less-successful won't feel so small and inconsequential.
Ryan / Rubio 2012!
GO SARAH!!!
If you know that there are mistakes, then you should share them with us "right now" — otherwise I'm inclined to think that you're blowing smoke up my axx and jrkg me off.
Relax, sport. If it does not exist, it will be invented and insinuated. Palin Derangement Syndrome rots the brain and puts her detractors in permanent propaganda mode — they just can't stop lying about her.
Ryan / Rubio 2012!
Sorry folks, this getting a little weird. Todd Palin endorses newtcakes and now Sarah is telling Mitt to put his tax returns out there? I am having a WTF moment.
That's a scattergun blast of assertions, but for each charge to be taken seriously, you must explain each one [no lying, please] separately to the reader, names, dates, laws, media reports, etc, etc —- else we are entitled to think that you're just another anti-Palin freak, blowing smoke up our axx and jrkg us off.
Wait for it…
When will Newt start talking up Palin as his VP?
One more example why Sarah Palin is the Establishment Politicians worst nightmare.
Keep at Sarah, lots'a trash to clean up.
Chicago Ralph is right. LSM looked for anything and everything against Palin….completely opposite of their willful ignorance with Obama. There's a remote chance LSM may have failed to report some mistakes or failure. Pretty damn unlikely.
Amen.
Watch them all fall in their circular firing squad — one by one — with Ron Paul sailing toward the goal line with a Tim Tebow pass for the winning TD at Tampa.
Go Ron!
Updates at http://www.dailypaul.com
She'll be endorsing statesman -patriot Ron Paul for Valentines' Day.
Hearts and minds vs. the robotic neocons.
Bain saved Staples. Staples employs 90,000 people. Why is the claim that Bain created 100,000 jobs in question?
ACES-Alaskans Clear and Eqiutable Share- this program slapped a high base tax on the oil companies with a progressive tax that increases to take MORE money from the oil companies should they increase the amount of oil coming out of the ground-the oil companies here are packing up and going to where the profit is. North Dakota is one of these places.
AGIA-Alaska gas inducement act-she would not deal with the oil companies who wanted to build the pipeline, so she GAVE $500 million in state money to Trans -Canada, which didn't have any leases here, but she awarded them the contract nonetheless. Trans-Canada then welched on the deal and has our money. Our current governor Sean Parnell is trying to break the contract, recovering hundreds of milions, if successful.
On her first day in office, she SHOULD HAVE SIGNED the bill passed out of the legislature here, that would have REQUIRED parents be notified if their minor child was going to have an abortion-but she let the supreme court of Alaska make that decision for her. To be fair-it was one of the last bills she signed as goverrnor, but she had to be dragged to the table to sign it.
Anti-Bain movement reminds me of Hitler's pro-worker/anti-banker concern for nationalism.
Each Republican voter must decide; worker or banker.
Then there is the issue of her presiding over a sanctuary state for illegals. While the bill was passed during Franks term as Governor in reaction to the Patriot Act, she should have nullified the law-but didn't . The law stated that no state monies or personnel would be used to round up and deport illegals. All the while there was a flood of illegals that showed up here during her term. Her press spokesmouth thought the idea of deporting illegals was ridiculous, and apparently, so did Mrs. Palin, as she took no action even though there was an outcry against this policy.
Just a few examples for your reading displeasure.
I don't have anything personal against her, it's just that she sucked as governor. Hopefully she will admit her mistakes before theLSM reveals this information-because you know they are waiting for the day when she runs for political office to reveal this.
Romney and Bain Capital…something like the puppet of the Bilderberg…Obama the Bush and Reverend Wright…something just not right here!
He is deep, deep in bed with big NWO money…and his CFR buddies helped him at Bain and continue to do so.
I, too, would like more information on Bain and all those jobs…sooner rather than later!
Here is another good article on his involvement with Bain Capital…
http://motherjones.com/mojo/2011/09/mitt-romney-b...
HE CANNOT WIN…HE WILL NOT WIN…HE IS NOT WHAT AMERICA NEEDS…HE IS JUST WHAT AMERICA ALREADY HAS!
And BTW, I don't have Palin derangement syndrome. Her policies ensure that we are on the downward slide economically, just like the majority of states are.
They only dug for dirt on her personal life. The LSM will use this against her should she run for a national office. They didnt even really touch her policies.
BTW, if you don't think they will reveal this should she run nationally , you are deluded. Look at what the LSM is doing to the GOP field. And you seriously think any of this won't come out ?
You are seriously underestimating how evil the press truly is.
As my grandfather might have said, "You can't get the water to clear up until you get the pigs out of the creek."
Romney is just another 'Progressive' wannabe career politician and a really weak suck who doesn't have the stomach to clean up the town. As such, he's more a part of the systemic problem instead of the solution. Do we really need a worthless wussie like that in the White House? On the bright side, he's not a Marxist like our current White House wussie and would be an improvement over Obama.
Maybe that figure should be for jobs 'created or saved' then???
He would be the same ol'…same ol'…in the Washington cocoon…because the same money that is funding him funded what we have now!
Get it?
Douches wild…
Chipsbee, I applaud you for citing a politician's record with facts. (I actually looked up the above mentioned in your post). It took me a few minutes to find some articles and read. Your comment about folks researching their facts is quite valid! Few people on this site actually research their case/points/facts about a given person/politician. I actually outlined facts that I researched and are well known about Rick Perry and got a -2 rating for the post. I guess I shouldn't feel so bad considering the negative votes people have been giving you. Don't be disparaged! I cannot say that I will always agree with your posts but I will always support a person who researches and presents facts. Thanks!
Sure, why not, it worked for BO (sic). However, unlike BO, Bain didn't destroy 4 jobs for every one "saved".
God knows American people want Sarah Palin to save the country~
excellent points.
Capitalism will be on trial and judged by a populace who can't balance a checkbook. Somebody better explain how financial freedom and personal freedom are inextricably linked, and soon…
Palin is pitch perfect as always. Lovin' it.
When Palin gives the OK and not one minute before. (He already has acknowledged her as a possibility.)
She's not running, Ashrak.
"Somebody better explain how financial freedom and personal freedom are inextricably linked, and soon… "
It would be nice if someone, somewhere, made Ayn Rand part of the curriculum, because all of her writings are soaked with the moral arguments for capitalism and individualism.
As I understand it, up until the early 20th century, grade school children in the US were taught about the Constitution and the founding of the nation; it was just expected that one would learn and know such fundamental material.
Nonsense
When Sarah Palin took office in December of 2006, Alaska was pulling up the rear when it came to jobs, ranking 49th out of the 50 states and Washington D.C. In her first year in office, Alaska was 6th best in improvement in unemployment. By the end of the final year of her tenure, Alaska was ranked 21st in the country. This kind of impressive record on jobs is how Alaska was 2nd best in job growth during her tenure. Data from the Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development, showed that in addition to a 13.7% increase in resource development jobs, Alaska saw a nearly 5% increase in business service jobs and a 6.4% increase in education and health related jobs during Sarah Palin’s time in office.
Another credit rating agency, Standard and Poor’s, upgraded Alaska’s credit rating to its highest possible rating of AAA. The agency gives several reasons why it felt confident enough in Alaska’s fiscal climate to make such an upgrade. A few of these reasons are due directly to the policies implemented by Sarah Palin.
ACES has made the state one of the fiscally strongest in the union.
While other states reel under staggering deficits, budget cuts, and protests, Alaska has built up a $12 billion surplus, most of it attributable to Palin’s tax.
ACES has probably meant the difference between a $12 billion surplus and a deficit.
ACES wasn’t a tax, as much as a reform on the purchase price of the oil that, per Alaska’s Constitution, belongs to the Alaskan people. For years corrupt politicians had made under the table deals with Big Oil, and Big Oil was paying Alaska well below the market rate for crude oil. Thanks to Palin, Big Oil was forced to pay Market rate for the oil, and many of the corrupt politicians went to prison.
Big Oil fought her, even though she told them that under her plan, they’d actually make more money, not less, and she was right. Alaska and Alaskans got their fair market price for oil, and yeah, profits for Big Oil actually went up.
Following the passage of ACES, Alaska saw a record number of oil jobs during Sarah Palin’s tenure. Not only were the number of jobs increasing, the legislation made development more attractive for other companies beyond the “Big Oil” companies favored by Sarah Palin’s predecessor. Since the passage of ACES, the number of companies filing with the state of Alaska has doubled.
AGIA was negotiated in a transparent manner and allowed all potential pipeline companies and energy development companies to compete for the opportunity to participate in the project and also allowed Alaskans to view these proposals in a transparent manner. No special treatment was shown to any particular companies because neither Sarah Palin, her commissioners, nor her DNR staff had industry cronies.
Nice try, but you are talking BS.

"tell me about the $500 million she gave to Trans-Canada."
Elaborate. I know nothing of this except for being Canadian and doing a quick Wiki search of your point. According to that, she nixed a previous deal that included BP, Todd's employer. I would think that is a better thing than steering a money to a spouse, never mind to a possibly less qualified bid (that would benefit her personally).
I'm not arguing; I'm asking.
objectivism is a perfect intellectual analysis of capitalism.
Capitalism, is after all, the outcome of the Christian fellowship started by the Templar Knights who invented the modern system of credit and banking. It WAS tempered by the fellowship's kindness towards each other; usury was banned. Same in sharia.
But what Rand did was look at the practicality of one man, serving his own self interest, combining forces with another when it was in MUTUAL self interest. These philosophical building blocks are easy to comprehend and hard to disagree with. THAT's why she is a perfect example, now…
Robotic Ronulan neo-Nazi goose-steppers versus real Americans is more like it. Aren't you late for yet another one of Herr Doktor Quack Quack's book burnings, Adolf?
What else I love about her writings is that at the same time she is admiring individual liberty and reason, her contempt for collectivism and collectivists oozes between every line.
She doesn't let the Ellsworth Tooheys (George Soros, Maurice Strong, Hank Paulson, Valerie Jarret, Donald Berwick etc etc) or the Mr Thompsons (BHO, mm mmm mmmmm) off the hook by suggesting that they are good people who are in over their heads, she properly cites their evil, anti human character as being central to the policies by which they live their lives and wish to impose their wills on everyone else. Parasites, except parasites can be forgiven because they lack the faculty of reason.
If I had to choose a favorite quote from her it would be that "I cannot believe that grown Americans do not understand–as adults–the evils of collectivism as clearly as I understood them at age nine."
I hear crickets chirping…
You are talking nonsense ( a case of PDS)

Or "save" the jobs by bankrupting everyone involved…and their children's children's children…
They will also wait until the election before releasing anything damaging.
just a mention or photo of Sarah Palin brings out all the CRAZIES.
This is funny, even coming from a lefty. Can you work McCain into the next chorus? lol
This woman is just disgusting. I am sorry, she has NO credibility and is extremely divisive! Palin contributes nothing to the GOP – only her own sense of self-importance. Please, someone make Sarah Palin go away!!!! Her lack of understanding of Bain just demonstrates how stupid this woman is!!!!
"This infighting over free market Capitalism is stupid"
On this I disagree, Capitalism, that is limited government and the free market are foundational to our society and the destruction of the free market by the state is one of the primary goals of the statist.
To put forth Republican (conservatives?) candidates who do not fully understand and will pledge to preserve individual liberties – the free market and the Constitution is beyond unacceptable.
Once the camels nose is in the tent you know what is not far behind it.
Mornin Ralph,
Kinda hard to vet obama when the last known record of his existence is his high school diploma. We have nothin to search, no bills proposed, no jobs record as an attorney or community organizer, no college transcripts…….
He has spent over $4M fighting in court to keep them sealed and he wins every case. Folks don't have unlimited funds to keep taking him to court. Another good reason for judicial reform in this country. He's running for the presidency and far as I know he's still in Contempt of Court in the 5th circuit….but nobody will serve that warrant.
The playing field isn't and will never be level with obama.
NOT helpful — except to Obama.
I think I'll go along with John Bolton.
Yet clowns like this Chimpbee feel,………
we should know everything about Palin,….
from the day she was born till the day,…..
all the libs, MSM, and RINOS like chimpbee,……
buried her.
Gettin ready for some snow here princess,…
Arizona is looking good right about now.
Are you related to that trooper she had fired…..?????
Tell me why,…….Alaska voted for her and tell me why,……
you are so petty.
Mornin the sweetheart,
my first comment to ya was flagged,…….
don't know why,…???????
Read this clown's other posts and,……
you realize that he sounds like that Alaskan trooper's brother.
Have been reading your posts, as well as some,…
of the responses to your sour grapes.
It seems that if just half of what is stated,…
in those responses is true,…….
you seem to be a tad clueless,…
even though you are in the state.
Come on BM, at least,….
wait till So Carolina.
Bingo, but the problem is,…….
too many people do not know what God wants.
judgeing from the tag team(bush sr,clintons, bush jr,supposed to be clintons again, but obama stole the ball??)on who rules the little people(let the taxpayers carry the financial trillion dollar debt, while friends and families get rich??)romney is more of the same, tell everyone what they want to hear, spend millions to get in then do what you want ,& like corzine and others get a great return on your investment, billions lost or misplaced??dont know nuthing about where it went, just evaporated???
And your point, yuba?
I control my vote, not government machination declaring what choices I have to pick from. When more Americans figure that out, we will snap the usurpatious control the current corrupticrats have over us.
Whoa. The infighting is going to get Obama reelected unless a central focus upon defeating Obama on a failed record is promoted. This country will elect any strong candidate who runs against Obama even with some baggage. Consider what we have now! Obama is the worse POTUS ever!
Ron Paul's theory of global trade?
