Finally, the year where true change can be made. It is time for all of us who want to see smaller government, protection of our liberties, our way of life, true hope and change for our future to get busy. If we do not and we have another four years of the current occupant in the White House, we have only ourselves to thank. The people get the leadership they deserve.
WE THE PEOPLE need to remember two very important clauses in the Declaration of Independence, something most Americans have taken for granted:
"… Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed …"
" … That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government … "
What are these ends? The God-given rights to life, liberty and the pusuit of happiness. How do we in the US abolish or alter our government? We will do it by voting for A SINGLE CANDIDATE (do not split the vote) TO DEFEAT OBAMA IN 2012.
There is a New Year's Resolution we can all make and work to achieve.

Congress ='s the Senate and the House.
For a bill to go to the President, a bill must pass BOTH Houses in identical form or it dies.
The House is in the hands of a Republican majority. The Senate is in the hands of a Democrat majority.
+++Fact that must be gotten across – The House has passed bills such as Ryan's Budget Bill to tackle our financial problems, but Harry Reid, Senate Majority Leader, a Democrat, will not take up for debate or even vote on MANY House proposals.
+++Obama claims its a do-nothing Congress. But House attempts to pass legislation fall dead in the Senate. Therefore the Senate keeps Obama from ever having to veto a bill passing Congress that violates his principles.
Lesson for day one. Pass it on. All Americans must know how their government works. This is the only way, we can stop the Liberal Distortions that will come fast and furious this election year.

Very Good Mr. Wesley, and this is why, even if somehow the presidency slips through the hands of the GOP (hopefully conservative) and remains Obamafied, it's important to get Mr. Ried as the Minority leader in the senate this year. Obama's next 4 years (God help us all) will be quite miserable for him if he's facing a majority in house and senate.
Amen on your observance that CONgress was never meant to be a career, but especially close to my heart is your statement that CONgress was not meant to consist of mostly lawyers. I have been bringing up that last one for a few years. Most lawyers lose their soul in law school, when they are taught to worship at the altar of compromise. It's very sad really, as most of them would throw their own mother under the bus to compromise. They sell out clients regularly, in the name of compromise, so we shouldn't be surprised that they will sell out the U.S. Constitution too, should we?
I wish we could get some sort of movement started to restrict the number of lawyers serving in the U.S. Congress at any one time, but I'm sure that is unconstitutional. I suppose it is up to us each as individuals to take note of. At this time it would be easier to list the CONgressmen who are not lawyers, than those who are.

I found a new (to me) TV show about gold miners recently and I thought of you when I was watching it. Hope you strike it rich this year.

You are probably referring to "Gold Rush". These guys are beyond inexperienced, but it does show some of our methods. Coincidentally, I am up on the mountain today, the nestmate came up for New Years and I'm taking her to a hidden claim of mine which has provided us with some very nice stuff over the years. I have a front loader/backhoe which I wanted to take in there to scrape away the poison oak thicket which exists there. Our lovely Libs in Sacramento now require special regulations to be met when wanting to do something like this. They sent me a 17 page environmental impact process guideline, it takes about $100,000 and two years to complete, all to just scrape away the top soil from a flat claim with no water on it. Then, after completion, they just tell you "NO".
What a freaking State.
Out of all the New Years that I have experienced,……

Frankly I didn't pay attention to the name of the thing, and the "faux-drama" amongst the crew was nauseating, but I LOVED all the technical stuff I learned from watching a few episodes. I could totally relate to the problems that came up with the big equipment occasionally. We farmers understand how breakdowns can quickly suck productivity and joy from ones day.
Keep fighting Sacramento, even in conservative Tx we have a list of new environmental rules to comply to, beginning today. It makes me sick… I've purposely ignored most of them, but one I did pick up on is, we're supposed to build a frikken moat around our large fuel storage tanks. The new rules are swarming on us so fast no one can keep up, and do any actual farming. All the better for the EPA or some ridiculous state agency to come snoop around, then fine the hell out of us. Our damn ground water is over 350 feet deep here, thus it's very hard to pollute the groundwater. Pure silliness for us to have the same rules that apply to areas with very shallow groundwater.
I don't look for us to be able to roll all these rules back, even with the most TEA Party Congress we can elect. Good luck with your project. Y'all enjoy your time on the mountain, sounds like an excellent way to start a new year.

LOL, yeah… I "read" that between the lines ; ) And you are right about enforcement being on their priority list. Remember when o-HOLE had that good idea shortly after taking office, to set up an 800 # hotline for neighbors to rat on each other? When/if that sort of initiative fails they'll go satellite. Farmers acreage and crop type is already reported to USDA via sat pictures once or twice per year. It won't be much of a stretch for them to get the apparatus in place to monitor us 24/7. Merely hire a bunch more gov bureaucrats (Dems love that) to man the screens. Who wouldn't take a gov job watching a screen for a gov salary? Then when we are plowing a field when the wind is blowing over 10 mph the gov enforcement officer will show up to impound our tractor for a week, and write us a big fine… I "see" what is coming our way Petro, but that optimist still lives somewhere deep inside me. She's just in hibernation right now. My pleasure to know you too. I was wondering just the other day if you still had your FJ Cruiser. Yes, I still have the old girl, best truck I've ever owned. I'm fighting with Toyota right now as my tail gate came separated from the weld just inside where the hinge is. It is a manufacturers defect, and I'm waiting to see if they'll cover it.
I agree on the sat, they are doing that up here as well for any new construction without permits. Fortunately for me, all the building and excavation I've done on the new property has permits and I have passed all inspections. This particular area is also very Conservative and I've made contacts with Senators, city managers and other "decision makers".
I'm working on running electricity up to the landing I cut right now, PGE is beyond Liberal and the costs are unbelievable. Makes one want to move to Alaska.

I haven't run any new electrical overhead lines in years, since the local Electric Co-op singled out Agricultural users to have their power disrupted for hours to days in their new contracts, about 5 years ago. Why do I want to be out the expense of running new line to service an irrigation well that already has access to natural gas (via pipeline), that has no such disruption clause? It seemed odd, that "industrial" users, like the big dairies (that have recently moved here from CA/AZ) would continue to have their needs met unlimited, as well as big grain companies and small factories. I had to LMAO that farmers who furnish that whole industrial system with raw materials would be the ones to be shut out. Only a gov bureaucrat could think that made sense.

If these facts are known, the American people will figure it out. You and I and others on this blog can help. The Republicans, themselves, need to educate the American people on the process. Understand the process of how our government works will undermine the Democrats and those in the Republican Party that want the status quo. This is part of the Tea Party philosophy. Last year I said that I was going to try to use less exclamation points. I've tried, and I don't seem to be doing so well toning down my political intensity. I guess as long as these Socialists are around & on the attack, I'm always going to be responding with intensity. Kick these lying Socialists out of our Government and our children's schools!
