Perry Laughs Off Debate Flub: Asks Supporters Which Federal Agency They Want to Forget

We’ve all had human moments. President Obama is still trying to find all 57 states. Ronald Reagan got lost somewhere on the Pacific Highway in an answer to a debate question. Gerald Ford ate a tamale without removing the husk. And tonight Rick Perry forgot the third agency he wants to eliminate. Just goes to show there are too damn many federal agencies.
The governor said it best afterwards: “I’m glad I had my boots on, because I sure stepped in it tonight.”
While the media froths over this all too human moment, we thought we would take this opportunity to ask your help in doing something much more constructive: write us to let us know what federal agency you would most like to forget.
Is it the EPA and its job-killing zealots? The NLRB and its czar-like dictates? The edu-crats at the Department of Education who aim to control your local curriculum?

Of course as a farmer, the EPA is the agency that causes me the most grief, and cost me mega bucks most people couldn't even fathom. Under o-HOLE it is only getting worse. Actually I voted for GHW Bush, my first (R) vote, because it was rumored he would curtail EPA's wild-eyed overreach… LOL, that was a while back, and it seems not much has slowed them down to date. That is because those agencies are rift with LEFTIST who merely go into hibernation during a (R) administration. They lay low so as to cause no issues that could lead to their dismissal. Katy bar the door when someone like o-HOLE is in the cat-bird seat… they are running hog-wild now. These agencies must be eliminated, since there is NO way to purge them of their rabid employees.

Anyone who says they've never suffered a brain-fart at an inopportune moment is lying. Perry's gaffe was inconsequential. What people need to be asking is who is the best qualified candidate with the best ideas and the best chance of getting Obama out of the WH. The rest is superficial nonsense.
The IRS gets my vote as the agency we could absolutely do without.
Farmers, Ranchers, Oilmen, Miners, Timbermen; they are all top dead center in the gunsights of the EPA.

I got yet ANOTHER letter from yet another government agency yesterday, informing me of dire consequences, should I not fill out yet ANOTHER set of papers every month and send them to some faceless person in an office somewhere.
The government over-reach is at a tipping point. When I have to pay a person FULL TIME just to do nothing but comply with the whims of the federal government, I lose my patience.
I'm happy to be a productive member of society.
But this increasing burden on small biz is WAY TOO MUCH.
I'm in agreement with Perry. He stepped in it. thick and smelly.
But I'll agree with him as well – when we're at the point in government that we've got rogue agencies presiding over the arming of our enemies, attacking our businesses, refusing to aid our states in protecting the border, harassing citizens for expressing their opinion, and a hundred other things, THE VERY LAST THING I CARE ABOUT IS WHETHER OR NOT RICK PERRY LOST HIS TRAIN OF THOUGHT FOR A SECOND IN A DEBATE!
Good God in heaven. Our cracksmoker-in-chief can't remember how many states we have, can't speak without a F&$%*@ computer to tell him what to say, can't tell our friends from our enemies, AND YOU'RE WORRIED ABOUT 30 SECONDS IN A DEBATE?????

It is true.
I personally know a man in the Northeast, who owns and runs a log yard. He is a timber buyer, buying high quality veneer logs, to ship overseas.
The EPA has cited him for excessive dust.
The funny thing is, his logyard, is paved…….
When I lived in the burbs I would go buy a bag of fertilizer three or four times a year for my yard with no regard for what the soil needs. After moving to the country and growing hay my fertilizer administration procedure changed due to costs. I now do a soil analysis and only spread what the soil needs because of the huge cost associated from over fertilizing 20 plus acres opposed to 0.5 acres. EPA regulations on farm use fertilizer are not based in reality, I see this with many alphabet agencies.
I agree, Kind of. A brain fart that bad on national television against Obummer could swing the general election 5-10 points in an instant. Look at it that way and it's not so inconsequenstial.

There is a big difference in misspeaking, like calling a primary a state, and not knowing the main issue that underpins your campaign.

Yeah, I know where you are coming from. You certainly didn't mean to, but you have swerved into a topic that is a pet peeve of mine, and has the research to back it up. I've lost the link, but some farm state university did the study, and found city dwellers, suburban users of chemicals and fertilizer are the major polluters of aquifers, rather than agricultural users, merely because of the reason you stated. We must always be worrying about our ROI. I wonder how long it will be before we'll have to have a US Fertilizer Inspector present on the farm as we are applying fertilizer? Same with herbicides and insecticides too? Gawd, we are sooo screwed!!!

I'm actually kind of worried for him. Yeah, it seems like maybe it was just a brain fart, but he is always reaching for words. I pointed this out last time, how he always takes long pauses like he can't come up with what he's trying to say.
About six years ago, my dad experienced some kind of swelling on his brain that doctors couldn't explain, and he's had memory issues ever since — specifically with names. If I were Mr. Perry, I'd get a check-up just to be sure nothing's going on. It could even be something as bad as early onset Alzheimer's.
I would like to see the EPA, FCC, NLRB, DOE, DOEducation, Commerce, and about 29 other agencies relegated to advisory and oversight.
The DOJ, SEC, and DOI need to be cleaned out as well as the state department, homeless insecurity, and TSA.
A great way to control them is to cut funding by 20% and pass legislation preventing them from writing regulations. Congress is the only branch of govt allowed to write law.
The American people disagree with you, and Perry will be gone when his money runs out. He's just not a very bright man.

Here in the real world we know that none of these candidates would ever eliminate any of these agencies, even if they could. Reagan didn't, Bush didn't, and a President Romney certainly won't.
Eliminate FEMA and then see what happens to you the next time a hurricane or earthquake hits. Eliminate the USDA and watch the bottom fall out of your poll numbers when Americans start getting poisoned by their meat.

Their function should be ceded to the states anyway. At the state level the freaks would never be able to have the anonymity they enjoy at the Fed level, thus we could at least know who our enemy is. Private property rights are nonexistent with the current level of oversight. It's scary !

Check this, I don't know about other states, but here in GA they are trying to pass a law that we can't spread chicken manure on our fields any more. We are the chicken growing state for god sakes. If this law passes, if you own a commercial chicken house you will have to pay someone to take your chicken manure and chemically process it to remove the odor, and then buy it back from them to use it to fertilize your fields. And it will only be half the potency after the treatment!
I'll be there to help. But the detectors will be going up the EPA inspector's ass.

I will vote any republican against Obama next election but I do think Rick Perry's slide downhill started with his "heartless" proclamation in regard to funding for illegals in Texas colleges.
