In the two previous blog installments “Part 1: Quid Pro Quo” and “Part 2: Get Out Jail Free Cards” the real-life scandal of government union boss Ron Saathoff is documented. “Part 1” exposes Saathoff’s abuse of his position and taxpayers to reap a special taxpayer-funded retirement increase...

Hmm… Does this ring a bell?

The money shot:
Many members of the liberal intelligentsia, that herd of independent minds, agree that other Americans comprise a malleable, hence vulnerable, herd whose "false consciousness" is imposed by corporate America. Therefore the herd needs kindly, paternal supervision by a cohort of protective herders. This means subordination of the bovine many to a regulatory government staffed by persons drawn from the clever minority not manipulated into false consciousness.
Because such tutelary government must presume the public's incompetence, it owes minimal deference to people's preferences. These preferences are not really "theirs," because the preferences derive from false, meaning imposed, consciousness.
This convenient theory licenses the enlightened vanguard, the political class, to exercise maximum discretion in wielding the powers of the regulatory state."

And in other developments, Harry Reid makes it easier to ram bills through the Senate:
"Reid's ‘nuclear option’ changes rules, ends repeat filibusters
By Alexander Bolton – 10/06/11 09:10 PM ET
In a shocking development Thursday evening, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) triggered a rarely used procedural option informally called the “nuclear option” to change the Senate rules.
Reid and 50 members of his caucus voted to change Senate rules unilaterally to prevent Republicans from forcing votes on uncomfortable amendments after the chamber has voted to move to final passage of a bill.
Reid’s coup passed by a vote of 51-48, leaving Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) fuming.
The surprise move stunned Republicans, who did not expect Reid to bring heavy artillery to what had been a humdrum knife fight over amendments to China currency legislation. " from: http://thehill.com/homenews/senate/186133-reid-tr...
New Poll:
Romney 22%, Perry 17%, Cain 13%

The conservatives need to hold the house and regain control of the senate regardless of the candidates. We just need to make sure conservatives are elected in 2012. We, as a nation, can not survive another four more years of the divisive, inept, narcissistic brat.
Heck we're already bankrupt. Actual unemployment is closer to 17%, our national debt is pushing 15 trillion, more jobs are going overseas, legal immigration is adding approximately one million new residents a year, the administration throws good money after bad, and is not willing to cut unnecessary spending, our unfunded debt is in the trillions, and we are borrowing at the rate of over 2.5 million per minute. Tell me again just how well off we really are.
Can't emphasize it enough. Prayer is the answer. What was the question again?
The global Keynesian meltdown.
"There is one good thing about Marx: he was not a Keynesian."
- Murray Rothbard
Its about time to start listening to those who saw this coming, predicted the governments response and how it would fail, both here and in Europe, and have been telling the truth for years/decades. Not Paul Ryan, not Art Laffer, not Herman Cain, not Bachmann. It was Ron Paul, Peter Schiff, Bob Murphy, Robert Wenzel, Lew Rockwell, and all those over at http://mises.org/
Liberals will answer we need borrow and spend another trillion (what is another trillion they say?) and welcome tens of millions of new immigrants to pursue the American dream (cough).
DAVID HOROWITZ EXPLAINS IT CLEARLY HERE:
http://frontpagemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/1...
Reagan and Bush borrowed and spent just as much as liberals. Stop being a partisan tool and see it for what it is: The State vs. You.
actually its higher than that its apprx 22% 60million UE
What everyone is missing and why we are screwed was in Eisenhowers 2nd warning! We all have heard his infamous warning of the military industrial complex but he had another warning!
Dwight Schultz yes 'Howling Mad Murdoch' guest hosting for Michael Savage presents it and makes one heck of an argument! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ldbeKJNDCTo
Progressives are the masterminds behind this demise we are all headed for. I use to laugh about the NWO but it is so clear after things I have heard this past week from this audio, to Rush stating BHO is behind the riots, Robert Kiyosaki confirming everything Beck has been onto even going darker.
I dont think there is anyway to stop this ship from sinking folks. Its time to get anyone who wants in to the lifeboats in and forget about those who will not listen thinking they can save the sinking ship by filling its opposite end with more water!!!!
If you're reading this you are the resistance
Was I speaking of Reagan and Bush, or was I speaking of current WH policy?
No you are wrong. Remember Bush bailed out the banks so it wouldn't happen./Sarc/
That would put our unemployment number equal to that of the Great Depression. Ouch!
Go ahead "progressives", create a bunch of patriots with nothing left to lose. See what you get then.
Predator here.
Good one GF.
Be well.
Markets? They have been nothing more than a scam since they introduced short selling and derivatives. They need to be thrown out along with the money changers.
"Liberals will answer we need borrow and spend another trillion "
Clearly, you were playing the us vs. them card.
As a family’s finances get tight, they will reduce spending, cut waste and sell less needed positions. As our country’s finances get tight, they confiscate property from citizens and print more money. I have yet to see the Grand Canyon up for sale or wasteful departments disbanded. Once our government has over confiscated and over printed, it will fall and we have no idea what group will take control. While the collapse is happening, those with highly marketable skills or large amounts of non-US currency will be able to move to a different country. The rest of us will have to remain and live our lives, the question is what our lives will be like. Will we be like Cuba, China, Somalia or one of the other dictatorships? When other countries fall, the US steps in to try and advance democracy but who steps in when the US falls? I doubt a UN without the US would help us, NATO has no teeth without the US, and there is nobody to help us out. We will be primed for Mexico to take us over.
For those who missed the link yesterday, this is a must read about the ever rising cost of health care, education, etc:

What markets are in meltdown? Europe and Asia are up right now….?

Look, it's OhSoStupid, spreading idiotcy indiscriminately for all to ignore.
I don't believe the 17% that voted for Romney are actually TEA Party folk.

Maybe you should look past the stock market numbers and look at the fundamentals. Greece will not be able to pay back their loans. The rest of continental Europe is not doing so hot with their debt situation either.
China might be in trouble, they have been printing money like crazy and it has shown in the vast overdevelopment in the housing market. Millions of vacant apartments and ghost cities.
A highly recommended read…….
The snot nosed, communist educated, malcontents continue to have tantrums in the streets and have the audacity to compare them selves to the TEA Party? They can not even articulate the argument they claim which is further evidence of poor education.
I have just spent the last three weeks working with several clients in an effort to shore up what they have for what is coming. They want to expand and have the resources to do so. They will not under the current uncertainty that is our environment. Repatriation of U.S. dollars will not happen until the tax code is simplified and shows reasonable condition for returning that capital to their homes.
The gnashing and wailing on Wall Street and around the country is misdirected. Call your President and Congress to get it straight. Learn something more than what your handlers tell you. Ask the question that will lead to answers, Why?
Good morning FC,
It seems that these people are firing the last bullet. The people they have attempting to make the argument are completely incapable. They have been deprived of the necessary tools to make any intelligent argument by those who claim to have educated them.
Morning P2O. It's good to see you again.
Yep. They only believe what they were taught in public schools and universities. Their parents failed them as well in that they didn't teach them critical thinking skills.
As GHUA used to say….God Help Us All.
In a shocking development Thursday evening, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) triggered a rarely used procedural option informally called the “nuclear option” to change the Senate rules.
The Democratic leader had become fed up with Republican demands for votes on motions to suspend the rules after the Senate had voted to end a filibuster.
Reid said these motions, which do not need unanimous consent, amount to a second-round filibuster after the Senate has voted to move to final passage of a measure.
The Senate voted 51-48 to back Reid and overturn the Senate precedent. Sen. Ben Nelson (Neb.) was the only Democrat to vote against his leader.
read the rest of this at The Hill
Republicans that VOTED FOR this:

Chambliss – R GA
Isakson – R GA
Graham – R – SC
Snowe – R – Maine
Cochran – R – MS
Portman – R – Ohio
Collins – R – Maine
Shelby – R – AL
SEssions – R – AL
and 2 others that I didn’t get their names
You betcha. Time for a good ol' woodshed style counseling session.
I just did a post that said this……
Spanking- thumbs up, Dr. Spock, thumbs down! LOL Great mind think alike.

This was forseeable, and OWS timed their "protests" to coincide.
Months?
Try years.
Make no mistake, the damaging actions of Barry, his Democrat peers and a feckless GOP aligned more with "compromising" with the aforementioned progressive/communist/socialist element will reverberate for years to come.
The only shot this nation has now is to see the worst of the worst offenders removed by impeachment and conviction for obvious criminal behavior ( Ahem, GunWalker, Solyndra) with more removals coming as a result of a more familiar process called elections.
We must stand and fight for our Constitution, and we do so best by making our constitution match our Constitution on an individual level. George W Bush said the way to battle terrorists was "One by ONE". I submit that righting this country is facilitated in much the same way. Individual Liberty and Personal Responsibility has to become honorable again. Not only must accountability be assigned, but so too must it be accepted. Both must happen at the individual level.
If it does not happen now, there will be a fundamental transformation alright. America herself will fall asunder and the dancer called communism will have officially killed another host.
Stand up and fight, Americans. Stand up now and fight with words, before, as has been the case before in this country, bullets become the only option left to defend Liberty.
It is time to choose. Stand up or stand down.
Republicans, grow a set, walk out and leave them with no quorum. Reid can go straight to Hades and take Obama and the rest of the marxists with him.
I say we throw out all the racist, anti-Semitic assclowns like OhSoStupid.
Keep your head in the sand moron.
Let 'em melt.
It's time to get out of this pot where the temp is increasing so slowly that we'll one day be boiled alive — turn up the heat so we can jump out now, before it's too late. Sure, we'll all be burned, but better a burn now than total annihilation later.
All the usual girls. Scott "Cosmo" Brown is a worse blight than Dead Ted and now my only choice in the upcoming scam is nothing, him or Elizabeth Warren. WTF? So much, more like so little, for democracy. I won't vote for him, can't vote for her–phuckit, I'd just as soon waive Massachusetts representation in congress and not even have senators or congressgirls.
TERM LIMITS! GET 'EM GONE AND KEEP 'EM GONE!
Will hit it on the head. The intelligentsia claim that they work for the good of the people but in reality they hold the unwashed masses in contempt and simply use they to gain more and more power and control. The unwashed masses are truly fools as they are trusting their fate to those who will eventually treat them as serfs.
The current path of this nation is a result of "unchecked" democracy. Pure majority rule is nothing but mob rule. The interesting thing is that the mob is lead by the liberal intelligentsia.
Our founders feared pure democracy. Note the words of John Adams:
"Democracy will soon degenerate into an anarchy, such an anarchy that every man will do what is right in his own eyes and no man's life or property or reputation or liberty will be secure, and every one of these will soon mould itself into a system of subordination of all the moral virtues and intellectual abilities, all the powers of wealth, beauty, wit and science, to the wanton pleasures, the capricious will, and the execrable cruelty of one or a very few." – An Essay on Man's Lust for Power, August 29, 1763
And John, cann't we all just get along, McCain is on the sidelines saying: "But you promised to be nice."
You are right. They should walk out. The commiecrates did it in Wisconsin. Excellent suggestion.
Payback's a b**th!
Don't forget Ayn Rand – 50 years ago. (Albeit in more general terms.)
We are about to become the last 'People's State', although we do not have a pirate out there named Ragnar Danneskjold to save our wealth for us.
The People's State of North Korea is going to need the grain and the watermelons must get to the festival.
Although she wrote it as a piece of fiction. The overall philosophy of self-reliance that she espoused in the novels should have been followed (minus the godlessness).
You are right. Reagan can be partially excused for it though. He had an entrenched opposition that he made deals with to offset the spending increases with spending cuts. The agreed to spending cuts never occurred.
That is a knock on him though. His plan to get the country out of recession was successful. After the Cold War, the so-called 'peace dividend' was spent elsewhere (and with even more fervor). The reduced expenditures on the military weren't used to pay off the nation's debts but were directed towards increases in social programs.
It shouldn't matter and it will be interesting to see how they rue the day that they did this, in January 2013.
If the GOP takes control of the Senate (which, as it stands now, they are likely to do), the Democrats will come to regret this move.
Predator, of course. I see you like shooting the bull…
We are in a depression….. PTB wont admit it b/c they know through sheer panic of that being said the markets will collapse, society will collapse over the 'D' word solely being used
Very educational.
Thanks for your valued response.
Really? Thanks. What college is your economics or finance degree from, because that commentary there is astounding in it's depth and insight.
That or I feel like I just read the headlines of any financial website from the last six months.
My pleasure
It was… She wrote around (guessing) 10 non-fiction books on her philosophy. The reason she wrote it into fiction is because she wanted to give a demonstration of it in context, and wanted it to be enjoyable enough for people to want to read it.
And she was right to do so. Philosophy can be a very dry subject – I would never have read a non-fiction book about philosophy had I not read Atlas Shrugged first.
So when the Republicans tried to do this a few years back, the dems threw a "not fair" tantrum. I don't think people realize that this means now even the most menial items will not get passed. Good job liberals, once again, if you don't get your way, you take everything and everyone with you, off the deep end.
