New Docs Show Extensive White House Involvement in ‘Fast and Furious’

Late Friday, the White House turned over new documents in the Congressional investigation into the ATF “Fast and Furious” gunwalking scandal.
The documents show extensive communications between then-ATF Special Agent in Charge of the Phoenix office Bill Newell – who led Fast and Furious – and then-White House National Security Staffer Kevin O’Reilly. Emails indicate the two also spoke on the phone. Such detailed, direct communications between a local ATF manager in Phoenix and a White House national security staffer has raised interest among Congressional investigators looking into Fast and Furious. Newell has said he and O’Reilly are long time friends.

ATF agents say that in Fast and Furious, their agency allowed thousands of assault rifles and other weapons to be sold to suspected traffickers for Mexican drug cartels. At least two of the guns turned up at the murder scene of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry last December.

The email exchanges span a little over a month last summer. They discuss ATF’s gun trafficking efforts along the border including the controversial Fast and Furious case, though not by name. The emails to and from O’Reilly indicate more than just a passing interest in the Phoenix office’s gun trafficking cases. They do not mention specific tactics such as “letting guns walk.”
A lawyer for the White House wrote Congressional investigators: “none of the communications between ATF and the White House revealed the investigative law enforcement tactics at issue in your inquiry, let alone any decision to allow guns to ‘walk.’”

Among the documents produced: an email in which ATF’s Newell sent the White House’s O’Reilly an “arrow chart reflecting the ultimate destination of firearms we intercepted and/or where the guns ended up.” The chart shows arrows leading from Arizona to destinations all over Mexico.

In response, O’Reilly wrote on Sept. 3, 2010 “The arrow chart is really interesting – and – no surprise – implies at least that different (Drug Trafficking Organizations) in Mexico have very different and geographically distinct networks in the US for acquiring guns. Did last year’s TX effort develop a similar graphic?”

This is illegal! Ignorance is no excuse! The President and AG need to be held accountable. If not, there is no rule of law in this country! Nothing less than jail time is acceptable! People have died because of this order. This is the most serious Presidential scandal in the history of the US!
The fact is that this scheme is so juvenile, so naive, that it could have only come from an imbecile in the change of command. I can only think of two. Barry Soetoro & Eric Holder. Now comes the cover up and in this case the actual crime is WORSE than the cover up. This is what you get when you elect an affirmative action moron as President.

Articles of Impeachment should have already been filed.
Many so called "journalists" must be taken to task, right along with their "parent companies" for playing an active role in covering up this GunWalker Scandal by refusing to report on it and making things up like "botched".
The other one who must be taken to task is Mr. Speaker himself.
John Boehner, you are the voice of the people of this country. Your intentional silence on this matter, Mr. Speaker, at the very least makes you complicit in the cover up of it. You, Sir, are derelict in your duty, not to mention in violation of your oath of office, every second you remain silent. You should be screaming about this into every microphone and camera that follows you and records your every word.
Enough of the silence Mr. Speaker. I call on you to either speak openly to the American people about this Scandal or step down in favor of someone who will do so. Your stonewalling, Mr. Speaker, is no better than that from the White House or the DOJ or any of the other Executive branch entities who are refusing to tell the truth.

aren't solyndra and fast and furious great examples of theory vs real world experience? both of them may, and i repeat may have looked good on paper, but real world experience would have said, lets hold on, this won't work. solyndra shows business professors ideas about business never take into account real world market demads. and fast and furious shows a criminal law professors ideas for how to deal with drug cartels, does not consider the side effects of thier wild ideas. this is why the next administration needs to be filled with people of some expertise in the real world for the field of thier jobs. and the person at the top needs to understand the downside of theory vs experience.

Let's give credit where it's due. Fast And Furious should be credited to this administration. They are breaking laws they are meant to enforce. It should be a no brainer to at least impeach this president over this issue. Whether or not the senate convicts is another matter.

These are released so that all the front page stories on Sunday can show just how innocent Barry really is – it is the fault of someone else and King Barry will get it all straightened out. Judicial Watch needs to subpoena every communication between Center For American "Progress", The AFL-CIO, The Teamsters, AFSCME, SEIU and the White House as well as other related organizations.
Van Jones' new home C.A.P. enable him to make use of their resources for "back channel communications" as well as "coordination" with the White House to incite these allegedly "organic" protesters.
I personally believe that the entire "Days of Rage" operation is being run right out of the west wing which would make the president a traitor for instigating violence against private citizens and property via proxy "organizers" (Jones) and political front groups.
FBI and DEA are also neck-deep in all of this.

These documents only scratch the surface of the crimes committed by the regime re Fast and Furious. Holder: I have always known you were lying; now, there is proof. What the emails do not mention is that the gun sellers were forced to sell these guns to the scum. Then the purchases were recorded, allowed to leave the US and lost in Mexico, over the objections of several ATF agents who were relocated to places like Minnesota.
Never forget Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry. He never had a chance. He was killed by one of these guns, with 2-3 others found at the scene.
