Schakowsky said that Americans don’t deserve to keep all of their money because we need taxes to support our society.
“I’ll put it this way. You don’t deserve to keep all of it and it’s not a question of deserving because what government is, is those things that we decide to do together. And there are many things that we decide to do together like have our national security. Like have police and fire. What about the people that work at the National Institute of Health who are looking for a cure for cancer,” Schakowsky said.
Schakowsky also says one reason the 2009 stimulus bill did not succeed was because it was not large enough.
Schakowsky also admitted there are questions about the Obama administration’s connection to the now bankrupt Solyndra solar panel company.
The administration approved nearly $528 million in federal loans to the company, before Solyndra filed for bankruptcy.
Schakowsky sits on the House Energy and Commerce Committee Investigations and Oversight Panel, which is holding hearings Wednesday into the matter. She said she and other Democrats want answers.
“You know, it certainly doesn’t sound good. The Democrats are not going to shrink from actually, you know, from any kind of full investigation of that. If there is a problem we’re certainly going to support the efforts to get to the bottom of this,” Schakowsky said.

Start talking 10th Amendment, state sovereignty or — heaven forbid — nullification, and you will immediately find yourself branded as an extremist, a nut job, a radical and out of the mainstream. There’s even a supposedly nasty term for those of us who would dare advance such nutty principles: “Tenther.”
Well, apparently, the American majority is just plain nutty.
A Rasmussen poll released last Friday tells us that “54 percent of Likely U.S. Voters believe that states should have the right to opt out of federal programs they don’t agree with.” In other words, more than half of Americans now embrace the Constitutional concept of State sovereignty.
More telling than this small majority in support of such crazy ideas is the much smaller minority of people opposed to them. Only 31 percent of those polled disagreed and said States should not enjoy the ability to opt out.
Think about that for a moment, because it is significant. Less than one-third of the country opposes our base principle that each State can and should have a unique approach to handling various political issues.

The reality is that there are very few people saying they want no taxes. Every honest person knows that some level of taxation is necessary and inevitable. It is the level to which we are taxed that is objectionable, particularly when we get screwed over time after time – and no one even offers us a kiss.

The issue of taxes collected can be easily solved, only those US citizens (and retirees that have paid into the system) should have the right to vote. Everyone needs to pay taxes, everyone must have some "skin" in the game, otherwise you don't get to play.

Every one of the Republican candidates for POTUS needs to reference Schakowsky's comments on the campaign trail and on any televised debates. I don't care if Brian Williams is asking Romney about Romneycare or Perry about Gardasil. They need to say, well at the time I thought that was a good idea, however compared to what Schakowsky said about American's not deserving to keep their money it's not that bad. If they are asked about their foreign policy stance they need to bring up this quote, if asked about their favorite color, etc…In other words keep this quote front and center before the American people. This woman has just issued a Dem Freudian slip of epic proportions. This is what the Dems really think and people need to be made aware of it.
I had a guy call me a tenther at my friends wine bar once. It was astounding. I had not heard that before then. Did it go downhill from there? No. By the time we parted; he understood I knew for what I spoke. I may not have changed his mind on much; but I think he may of re thought the broad brush he used.
It is amazing that we allow schools to teach nothing to our children that they would actually benefit from. This is why I am very active in the school district, and school board meetings. We have to make the change we do believe in. Start from the bottom, and build what we need and want. Participate at every level that we can.
