All in the Family: Obama Spends Labor Day at Detroit AFL-CIO Rally

President Barack Obama is previewing his ideas for job creation and economic growth at a Labor Day rally with union members in Detroit.
Obama’s speech at the annual event sponsored by the Metropolitan Detroit AFL-CIO was serving as a dress rehearsal for the jobs address he’s delivering to a joint session of Congress on Thursday night.
The president’s appearance follows last Friday’s dismal jobs report, which showed that employers added no jobs in August. It was the first time since 1945 that the government reported a net job change of zero. The unemployment rate, meanwhile, held steady at 9.1 percent.
The disappointing report sparked new fears of a second recession and injected fresh urgency into efforts by Obama to help get millions of unemployed people back into the labor market—and help improve his re-election chances.
Polls show the economy and jobs are the public’s top concerns. Public approval of Obama’s handling of the economy hit a new low of 26 percent in a recent Gallup survey.
The unemployment report also gave Obama’s Republican critics, including those who want to challenge him in next year’s presidential election, fresh ammunition to pound him with.

Just knowing he is about 30 miles from me is making me physically ill.
But it's good for him to see firsthand what liberal nonsense combined with unchecked corruption can do, and in a relatively short span. Detroit, once the industrial capital of the country, that built an entire war machine which was absolutely central ending the second World War and eliminating the Nazi regime, that made available the freedom to go where we please, when we please. Now, it is simply returning to the Earth. People have been leaving in droves, and still are. Blocks upon blocks of empty homes that have been left in place to decay, including a huge number of ones that are burnt out. I've seen several areas where a street, from one end to the other, is nothing but burnt out hulks, and have been that way for more than a decade. There are beautiful buildings that were once considered some of the best architectural designs in the country and once housed the offices of some of the countries most successful businesses are basically falling in on themselves. Huge, beautiful gothic churches that brought services to literally thousands of people, now stand as monuments to the civilization that left it behind. Empty lots with literally tons of trash piled in them. Stripped out hulks of stolen cars and boats dot the land, still sitting where the thief dumped it. Abandoned police stations, littered with mountains of forgotten records.
So it is ironic that the jackass socialist is visiting the U.S. version of Pripyat. The reason for the abandonment of the cities may be different, but the ultimate result is exactly the same.

What you taught me today, Mr. Obama, is that I can never trust your word, never depend on you to stand for all Americans 'rights' and that you truly hate the idea of freedom. As for your 'unions', I will not support or buy the product of any 'union' shop again. I will go without a product, but I will have my dignity.

How things have "changed" since his election days when he was telling us that war was bad, GWB was bad and destructive, didn't have permission for this and that, transparency during the healtcare debate BS and now he is doing the exact thing. That my friends is a hypocrite, plain and simple. This self centered President and his agenda has hurt America at a time when it was "vunerable" and he has taken us to the lowest point of possible survival as a free nation.

After extensive testing, Germany has decided not to deploy body scanners at the nation's airports. Germany field-tested the scanners with more than 800,000 passengers over ten months and concluded the devices produced too many false alarms and were not effective. In an interview with ABC News EPIC’s John Verdi said, "when they can't distinguish between body sweat and explosives, they aren’t making anyone safer." Italy also recently removed the scanners from airports after the Italian Civil Aviation Authority concluded that they were inaccurate and inconvenient. EPIC has petitioned a federal appeals court to rehear the organization's challenge to the controversial program, citing erroneous findings that the devices would detect liquid and powdered explosive. You know does anybody find it odd that his most recent campaign appearances have been in Minnesota, Iowa, Illnois, and Michigan. Those are states all won by Obama easily in 2008. If he's trying to shore them up now he must be in real trouble in Ohio, PA, Florida, NC, Virginia, WI, IN which are all basically swing states which he won in 2008.
Looking like a rout forming since this new jobs plan which will come out won't work.
