Palin Tells Supporters: ‘Room for More’ in GOP Race

Sarah Palin tantalized supporters on the eve of her appearance at a tea party rally by telling reporters “there’s room for more” candidates in the contest for the Republican presidential nomination. But she gave no hint as to whether she was talking about herself.
The former Alaska governor was mobbed by enthusiastic supporters who chanted, “Run, Sarah, run!” when she arrived at a Des Moines suburb Friday evening. Many had come hundreds or thousands of miles to attend Saturday rally in Indianola and many believe that Palin will become a candidate.
Aides have suggested that Palin will not make her intentions clear on Saturday and what she said Friday night did nothing to clarify the picture. Asked about the current field of candidates, she said she was happy with them, but added, “I think there’s room for more, though, because spirited debate and more competition will allow an even better discourse and more rigorous discourse that the public deserves.”
With that, she and her husband Todd were swallowed up by the crowd inside the restaurant. For more than half an hour, she posed for photographs, signed autographs and chatted with supporters who had been brought together by the group Conservatives4Palin.
She did not speak, but Peter Singleton, who has spent considerable time in Iowa promoting a Palin candidacy, did. Saying the group’s mission “is literally to save this great nation,” Singleton told the crowd of several hundred people, “There is no one who has the political courage or vision of this woman.”

If Sarah Palin was serious about running, she should have announced in time to put herself in the upcoming debate and quit tantalizing.
It looks like she will run, and I think it would be a mistake at this point.
I think Sarah will wait until she sees how the field goes. She is more concerned with the welfare of her family at this point. If she were to declare now, the LSM would fillet her and every member of her family up to election day. I do think she would make a great president, but she would have to go through a living hell from the left and media to get there.
Of the current field I have more faith in Cain and Bachmann. Both Perry and Romney carry lots of political baggage, and we haven't really heard much from either on the illegal alien issue and securing the border. Little has been also stated about cleaning up the duplication, waste, and corruption within both federal agencies and current programs. Attacking BO only goes so far. We need to know what each candidate is going to do if elected to the oval office. We can't survive four more years of hopeless change. The brat will have free reign to finish what he has started – the destruction of the Republic and the institution of a socialist regime.
That's another reason to insure the house stays in conservative hands and the senate majority is finally captured by more fiscal conservatives. Let's make sure pelosi stays a minority leader and reid is introduced to the same in the senate.
Hopefully she will run and water down the vote for those other two poison RINOS, Romney and Perry.

I don't understand this mentality that she has to announce at whatever timetable the media sets or meets with anyone other than who she wants to meet with at this point. Events will shape themselves and she'll announce when she thinks it is the right time and she'll meet with those that she thinks is important to meet with and when to meet with them.
She doesn't do things in the conventional manner and she will continue to do them in an unconventional manner.

In photography there is a term, 'golden hour' – the time an hour or less before the sun goes down and around fifteen minutes after the sun has set. It produces the best possible photograph, but if you wait a little too long it's gone.
I think the same is true for presidential candidates. That time for her is close.

The one thing that Sarah Palin brings to the campaign is the rare ability to connect with the American people. It's time for her to enter the race.

However the open border policy he then espoused is not acceptable. I wish to see Mexico rise from their poverty, but an open border will not accomplish that. Ending our war on drugs would help (reducing cash flow to criminal empires), but ending the stranglehold of the ruling class on Mexico's resources is the main thing that needs to happen. Not coincidentally we need to do that here, and not coincidentally the oligarchs here are more interested in opening the border and merging our society with theirs than in changing anything in Mexico.

Yes, Reagan announced late in the year (although I don't think he had to do it even then), but there was lots of talk about Reagan's age. That's not a problem for Sarah.

Right now, I think that just about any GOP candidacy (yes, even Jon Huntsman) could win the White House.
She was actually an executive of a state prior to being on the 2008 GOP ticket. She was the only candidate among the 4 on the GOP and Democrat tickets that had ANY such experience. The next best qualified candidate was the Libertarian VP candidate (Wayne Allyn Root) who actually is a business owner.
She had more than an 80% approval rating in doing her job before being tapped by McCain to the VP slot on the GOP ticket.
She energized voters for the GOP ticket (I know that I was one of them). I wouldn't have voted for the GOP ticket otherwise.
