In the two previous blog installments “Part 1: Quid Pro Quo” and “Part 2: Get Out Jail Free Cards” the real-life scandal of government union boss Ron Saathoff is documented. “Part 1” exposes Saathoff’s abuse of his position and taxpayers to reap a special taxpayer-funded retirement increase...

I actually have to say that Speaker Boehner deserves respect for holding out! I've determined that after this I shall show him the respect he deserves and call him by his proper title (until he does his next Boehnhead action like cry in front of advisaries!) Perhaps I was wrong about his charactor. (What am I admiting to here?)
True colors are starting to show though.
Mitch McConnell now- He's really starting to piss me off! Can anyone explain that deal he tryed to make- allowing the president to gain control of the Countrys finances?
And the "gang of 6" or what ever they were called, did they have a real purpose?
Oh yeah, and Happy Birthday, Publius' dad!
I guess the only way to cut out of control social spending is to cut off the supply of money.
First mistake is that BO was misconstrued with with the word, "leader". That is an oxymoron if I have ever heard one. As point of fact in his nearly three years in office he has let everyone but himself handle the reigns of power. His interests have tended more to parties, golf, shooting hoops, and taking vacations on the taxpayer's dime. That does not appear to reflect leadership in any way or manner
Now There was alleged to be a deal with Boehner until the idiot threw another 400 billion in revenue(PC for taxes) onto the table after the deal had been been struck. The toddler is as bad as Kerry, I was for it until I was against it, on his flip flopping. The only hope and change I see is the hope we have a change in the oval office in 2012.
Larry Kudlow posted an article on one of the Bigs recently about the debt and the canard of defaulting. He stated that if the ceiling is not raised then Congress will have enough money for Social(istic) (In)Security (as my dad likes to call it), the military, and a couple of other major needs but they would be $134 billion short for the month. I say, FREEZE the debt ceiling and cut $134 billion per month for the foreseeable future. Another talk show host (possibly The Great One) said we should immediately shut down the DoE which consumes $100 billion per year. I say it is a good start.
They already spent this years allowance. Better start working on next years budget, so this doesn't happen again. 5 months without money, is what happens when you fail to make one. Better turn in those paychecks, you didn't earn, too.
rudy giulliani said it best;
we took a guy who has never had to create a budget in his entire life and put him in charge of the most important budget in the world.
what did we expect?
reap what you sow…..
Same here, Billy.
Didn't think he had it in him.
Obama further proved what a weak person he is by his childish behavior at the news conference.
August 2 is not a default date. It is only a default if we don't pay our bills. The notion that check won't go out to retired folks and the military is only so if they chose that route.
The problem is that even republicans are using the same cunard of defaulting. Chris Wallace on fox news used the word default everytime he mentions not raising the debt ceiling.
That image for this subject just says it all… FAIL.
Obama wants our Country to fail. His actions say this loud and clear.
There are so many Federal agencies that could be cut. Start with the Education Dept, then EPA, Commerce, Federal Parks, DOE, FTC, etc, etc. etc. etc. Let the states handle it. The only thing the Fed should be about is the Military and Defense, FBI, etc. . I can't think of anything else the Fed needs to be involved in. Cut them all. Hence, no IRS, no Federal Income TAX. That will get all the Democrats out of office right quick, when they can;'t be about spending money, they'll go home, get a real job.
Obama wasn't even competent as a junior senator much less president, his inadequacies are now glaringly apparent which is why he'll be a one-term wonder.
The men in the white coats need to take Obama away. Seriously.
I don't believe Boehner's announcement that these so called "talks" are done. He was under immense
pressure from ALL the TEA Party realm, plus every conservative talk radio show was inundated by callers
with threats of what they planned to do if Boehner caved. IMO he's merely trying to release a little pressure,
get us to take our eye off the ball.
Remember, to the LEFT this is a game of rope-a dope, having more to do with the 2012 elections than the
US financial position in the world. Boehner is a moderate (R), who is being pushed beyond his zone of
comfort by US, and his conservative (TEA Party) colleagues. He will easily backtrack when and if that pres-
sure is removed. IMO we should make him cry every damn day.
I have come to believe he'd rather COMPROMISE than WIN – how sick is that?
He is frittering away opportunities to lock in the advantage the RIGHT now holds with each day he
continues this game of footsie with o-HOLE. A competent Speaker of the House would have slapped
the administration, and the LEFT back on their heels with our 2010 mandate. Boehner is a fool who has
failed to use that advantage to it's potential, and I absolutely refuse to pretend I don't know that fact.
Now I reallllllly want to know why Bachman backed off in her run for Speaker… Would she have played
golf with o-HOLE?:-D
Happy Trails, ALL!
; )
This administration had 2 years to at least, try to balance the budget…the were NOT interested then and they are NOT interested now! They could have done this WITHOUT the Republicans, as they have locked them out of every discussion since Obama took office….They waited on purpose, knowing that Obama would veto EVERYTHING that did not give him everything he wanted, and he would blame it on the GOP!!
As usual, he's pulling his crybaby act…I just pray that the GOP DO NOT BACK DOWN!!!!
HMMM. Let's see. The House of Representatives passed a budget which was not balanced. As a result, the United States must borrow money to meet its commitments under this budget. Now we are on the brink of defaulting on these commitments. The 14th Amendment to the Constitution provides:
Section 4. The validity of the public debt of the United States, authorized by law, including debts incurred for payment of pensions and bounties for services in suppressing insurrection or rebellion, shall not be questioned. But neither the United States nor any State shall assume or pay any debt or obligation incurred in aid of insurrection or rebellion against the United States, or any claim for the loss or emancipation of any slave; but all such debts, obligations and claims shall be held illegal and void.
Now lets assume, one of the commitments the United States made pursuant to this budget which was passed by the House of Representatives was to build a dam. Let's further assume that there will not be enough money to pay the contractor who has worked on this dam. Do you think he will be "questioning" whether he will be paid? He may not, but I assure you, his workers will be questioning whether or not they will get a paycheck on Friday.
I have an idea to resolve this problem. Obviously, there will not be enough money to pay all of the obligations Congress committed this country to under this budget. This means the U.S. Treasury will be forced to pick and chose which creditors must be paid. So I know. Let's pay our elected representatives who make the responsible decision and vote to stand behind our obligations and not pay the ones who do not. That sounds fair to me. This also applies to their staff. Do you think the members of their staff, when they are not paid, will "question" whether they will ever receive a paycheck? HMMM You know what, when their rent is due and they have not been paid, I bet their landlord will "question" them on how much longer they will be staying in his building.
It is the political class, both Ds and Rs, that have gutted social security over the years by diverting our contributions into the general fund (i.e. spending them). The "full faith and credit" of the US government is a sham, because they CAN'T PAY BACK WHAT THEY OWE US without borrowing from China. Well, it's time to settle up. Close the Department of Education and sell the physical assets. Same for Energy, Commerce, etc., etc. If you're still a bit short, then put the Washington Monument and the President's corporate jet on E-bay. Sell the White House to Marriott and lease it back. It's a fine mess you've gotten us into, now get us out. And if you can't, then we will put you out in 2012!
Re: Boehner's crying
Some people have a hair trigger for tears, it seems. It doesn't necessarily mean weakness, however. My wife is one such person. She'll cry at the drop of a hat. Yet, she will sometimes give Gandalf a run for his money, in the "You shall not pass!" department, when it comes to matters of principle.
I agree, seeing a grown man cry can be disturbing. It'd be even worse to see Pelousi cry. The laminations might start to blister and separate. I shudder just thinking about it.
The DoE serves worse than no purpose. Scholarship has declined precipitously since its creation. Empty the offices, and rent the space for relatively useful private endeavors, like buggy whip factories.
If your going to tell a lie, tell a big one, hey Bo? It would have been more efficient to go:
Nyah nyah boo boo! Bargle bargle bargle!
It would have been equally cogent and convincing.
Federal budget is merely a ponzi scheme run by self-serving egotists.
I gotta agree with you here. I don't trust Boehner. The only way to deal with him is to keep the pressure on.
When I watched the president's news conference, I knew he was going to take a beating for his childish behavior and from the comment that I have read so far, he is here.
Of course he always takes a beating here, but his performance this time is really revealing.
Figure out how to pay all the bills without borrowing money or increasing tax revenue. That is the problem at hand.
When the folks in congress really understand that is the acutal problem, the solution will come more quickly. There are plenty of government departments/programs we could eliminate and save bundles of money. Yes, that means putting even more people out of work.
Well, you are paid by the taxpayer and your're fired. Get a job in the private sector.
Budget/Debt Ceiling implies parameters, I’ve never seen any budgetary restraint in DC.
The ONLY reason Clinton had a balanced budget was because of the Republicans!!! You might want to PAY ATTENTION to what you are saying!!!
You know, when Husk spends this much time on a post he’s “super serial” this time.
super serial
Is that code for "on her last can of Krylon?"
I could not agree more!
You hit the nail on the head! Any "deal" must contain language negating part of the money if the senate and president continue to fail on budgeting.
Off topic slightly- Did anybody see Juan Williams on "The Five" last night? I never thought I'd miss Beckel. Juan took liberal talking points and used those as his arguement. As much as I disagree with Beckel, at least his debates (usually) has some thought and substance behind them.
Also, with nothing to do with the topic at hand (don't you love "Open Thread"? I could do this all day!) did you hear that Micheal Steel is joining MSNBC? I wonder if they'll be using him as their token conservative- I'm sure he can fool THEM into thinking he's a conservative… Also, now we won't be able to claim that they hired Al Sharpton for their token Black Man, now that they have two working for them. And Al won't be so lonely as he can't eat his lunch in the "Whites Only" lounge…
Mr. President was upset when Speaker Boehner walked away at these talks. I wonder how upset this Administration will be when the actual numbers of "small businesses" that have "walked away" are seen. Government reporting is still 2010 at best, most numbers for "civilians" are 2009 information. Anyone walking a small town Main Street knows better than any Government Report what is current.
I'm wary of Boehner. Could be a "broken clock" scenario. You know, even a broken clock is right twice a day. If there is any spine in Boehner, the Tea Party put it there.
Correctamundo. Obama hangs back and let's everyone else do all the work, then swoops in to take all the credit. I imagine it's the same tactic he employed throughout his years in academia. I know the type. Always getting someone else to do his term papers and homework. Obama is above all that.
It's more than just a canard; it's the classic Big Lie. When Aug 3 rolls around with no increase in the debt ceiling and nothing calamitous happens, Obama and the LibProg Dems will be exposed for the charlatans they are. Not that they haven't provided ample evidence already. If only we had a Press that took their Constitutional role seriously.
In charge for 2 years…………and ran up the nations debt $4 TRILLION DOLLARS………..
That's all i need to know about president boot-licker.
GTFO!!!!!!
How can anyone take this POSOTUS and the LibProg Dems seriously when the Senate has refused to submit a budget for over 800 days?
"HMMM",…so I guess the only solution is,…….
to allow Obama to buy a few more Monopoly games.
and they sh*t canned "Hilary Care"
Is there anyone other than the Tea Party,………
who still cares about this country……?????
Well, what do you expect from a person who has never been allowed to fail, never been forced to make a tough decision and deal with the consequences, never had to work a real job a day in his life, has in fact been shielded from the "real world" his entire life? No one has ever told him, to his face, "You know, Barry, that's the stupidest thing I have ever heard" or "Barry, you get your ass to work on time or you're fired." What we have is the most coddled POSOTUS in American history.
Obama wants to slash the military and raise taxes. That is his idea of a balanced budget. But then…..I have heard the same garbage from commiecrats for years.
I agree that the fastest way to balance the budget and restore freedom in this country is to eliminate the alphabet soup of Federal agencies and programs. Our nation grew and prospered at a staggering rate before the advent of the massive Federal bureaucracy.
Amen!
I agree. I used to think that Obama was merely incompetent and didn't know WTF he was doing. But that was before the famous Beer Summit. Like Rush and The Great One, I think it's deliberate. The POSOTUS has a huge chip on his shoulder and is doing all he can to level the world playing field by cutting this nation off at its knees.
Can you imagine what that wanna be dictator would do if he had a civilian security force stronger than the Pentagon? Those thugs would be marching us off to re-education camps and the gallows.
We all know that the only good that,………..
can possibly come out of Washington,………
must come from the Republican Party.
You are spot on (BINGO) in putting the spotlight,…….
on all DC folks Republican.
As for Bachman, her backing off for Speaker,……..
has always weighed heavy with me.
Yeah, but getting that done is another thing entirely. The crop of freshmen in the House have the cajones to do it, but the Senate will need such an infusion before anything substantive can get done. And let's give credit where credit is due – whatever spine the GOP has now was put there by the Tea Party. If the Tea Party can deliver enough Senators to change the equilibrium of that "most deliberative body," then there will be a better-than-average chance for substantive change. Otherwise, forget it.
Competence never had anything to do with it. The media were never interested in questioning Obama's competence to be POTUS or even Senator, for that matter. No one dared for fear of being called a racist.
Whatever spine Boehner has was put there by the Tea Party. Given the opportunity, he'd have sucked up to the LibProg Dems and Obama and compromised, i.e., folded completely.
Which is why he's out in 2012. Unless they let these nattering nabobs in the voting booth to point the finger of racism. I guess this widely circulated joke is true…In 2008 Americans voted for Obama to prove they weren't racist. In 2012 they'll vote for anybody but Obama to prove they're not stupid.
Sarah Palin called it like it is….“This is the same president who proposed an absurdly irresponsible budget that would increase our debt by trillions of dollars, and whose party failed to even put forward a budget in over 800 days! This is the same president who is pushing our country to the brink because of his reckless spending on things like the nearly trillion dollar “stimulus” boondoggle. This is the same president who ignored his own debt commission’s recommendations and demonized the voices of fiscal sanity who proposed responsible plans to reform our entitlement programs and rein in our dangerous debt trajectory. This is the same president who wanted to push through an increase in the debt ceiling that didn’t include any cuts in government spending! This is the same president who wants to slam Americans with tax hikes to cover his reckless spending, but has threatened to veto a bill proposing a balanced budget amendment. This is the same president who hasn’t put forward a responsible plan himself, but has rejected reasonable proposals that would tackle our debt. This is the same president who still refuses to understand that the American electorate rejected his big government agenda last November.”
From above… ….Putting a smooth talker in a fancy suit doesn’t make him qualified. Palin was far more qualified than Obama during the 2008 election and that still hasn’t changed.
I'm reading in various articles that the younger folks are favorably eyeing the GOP. Perhaps the young whipersnappers are beginning to see that this debt is their hot potato and will have to scale back their standards of living like they have never known! Mommy and Daddy won't be able to help them on this one. It is an absolute obamanation that we have allowed this to happen to our children's futures. Career politicians are the "Bernie Madoffs" of the public sector and we need to send them a strong message in 2012. Citizen representation is what's required. Repeal the 17th amendment, and make these pompous Senators accountable to the State Legislatures once again! You can't get them out once their in there. They are like the people barnacles on the Davy Jones ship, with a captain like Obama sending us to the depths as quickly as he can.
I have never seen a President make a fool of himself like I did yesterday.
Barack can't even carry the respect that any President carries just by being President.
The LibProg Dems controlled both Houses before Obama even took office, so they've had more than two years to get our fiscal house in order. Instead, they chose to spend us to the edge of financial oblivion. But the GOP is in a tight spot. They're damned if they do, damned if they don't. The lapdog media will do all they can to portray Obama and the LibProg Dems in a favorable light – we all know that. The clear-headed among us who have been paying attention know that nothing calamitous will happen if the debt ceiling is not raised, as long as Obama prioritizes spending in such a way that seniors, veterans, and those relying on Medicaid, etc., are cared for first. There is enough in revenue to service the debt and meet the needs of the people who need it most, but there is a danger that Obama will seize this as another opportunity to acquire and consolidate more power. He could make a lot of people suffer needlessly, just to score political points, and then blame all the suffering on the GOP. And does anyone believe that the lapdog media would not play along, acting as unofficial WH stenographers?
Intelligence is meaningless without wisdom & strength of character.
Our legislators have bought their relevancy with our tax dollars. Being a Congressman wouldn't be all that sexy if they hadn't exceeded their Constitutional bounds years ago. It's easy being a philanthropist when you're using other people's money, and they got hooked on all the fame and adulation from the groups they favor.
What is a lie? Please be specific. After all, I thought there were no consequences to a default.
South Park, Algore Episode
He is not playing games. Times are tough and decisions need to be made. He made the decision. Too bad, so sad.
One wonders Ralph!
What does intelligence, character or wisdom have to to with it. Decisions must be made. How fast do you think the wingnuts will cave when they feel the heat. I bet their spouses will have a few "questions", don't you.
I can't help notice the rhetoric against the Tea Party has cranked up to a new high. Extreme, irresponsible, unrealistic, etc.
The debate wouldn't be happening without the Tea Party!
Great idea, Ralph. Stop making payments on their health insurance, too. I bet that will get a rise from their spouse. But remember, we have a point to make.
You're assuming that the POSOTUS actually cares about small businesses as anything other than some sort of rhetorical abstraction. Where is the evidence showing that Obama really wants to do something constructive to help out small businesses? Does increasing taxes on those who make $200,000/yr help the small business owner? Does imposing a permitorium on drilling in the Gulf help small businesses in the region who service the oil industry? How about the crony partnerships with GE, GM, and most of the big names in the financial industry? Does crony capitalism help out the small business owner? Obama doesn't give a damn about the small business owner. In fact, I think he despises them.
President Leaderless just amazes me. He divided this country second only to pre civil war days and now he complains about the division. I wish I were in an area where I could stalk the MSM and every time they fire up their camera with their rhetoric I could swoop out of the background and challenge them on the spot.
"Budget Edition" – see – the problem is that THE DEMOCRATS HAVEN'T SUBMITTED A BUDGET IN OVER TWO YEARS – OVER TWO YEARS OF SPENDING – WITHOUT TAKING ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR WASTE AND RECKLESS SPENDING.
How do I hate our DEMOCRAT "LAWMAKERS?" Let me count the ways….
Obama is playing the political game here – HE HAS GET to the GOP to raise taxes to has SOME BLUDGEON to use in 2012 to TRY to save his FAILED presidency. ANd YA, it's failed.
The GOP majority was ELECTED to GET CONTROL of this FISCAL MESS created by years of waste – GREATLY EXACERBATED by TWO YEARS of DEMOCRAT CONTROL of the HOUSE, SENATE and PRESIDENCY.
$4 TRILLION WASTED – NO BUDGET SUBMITTED in 30 MONTHS. Who is irresponsible here? Ya, it's OBVIOUS – the back bench, inexperienced Marxist from Illinois and the profligate Democrat Party. Both MASSIVE FAILURES.
there has got to be a ridiculous amount of wasteful projects this country spends our tax dollars on. go thru this list one item at a time (i don't care if it is 5 miles long) and cross out what is NOT NEEDED! is it that freaken hard for these people to do. these people are lazy greedy selfish sh*ts that only care about their own bottom line. cut out the pork or get the f out! its that simple. no more taxes.
Actually, I was referring to you. In the absence of character or wisdom, your fevered rants are merely annoying and are not persuasive in the least. Perhaps that is your goal. If so, you're doing a great job. But if you're doing your level best to convince people that Obama and the LibProg Dems are doing right by the American people, you're doing an awful job.
and thats just for his golf games, parties and vacations!
yes GTFO obama!!!!!!
well, knowing that public jobs outnumber private jobs, i'd say NO.
a pig with lipstick on would be more qualified than obama.
I agree whole heartedly with you. The GOP WAS ELECTED TO GET CONTROL OF THIS FISCAL MESS. SO START WITH THEM.
Obama has NEVER been in "charge" of anything – ever – and the American people FOOLISHLY put him in "charge" of ONE PART of the U.S. government – just ONE PART. He is NOT – despite the way he acts – a MONARCH.
It is the RESPONSIBILTY of the OTHER TWO PARTS of the government to QUESTION HIM, CHALLENGE HIM and if neccessary OPPOSE HIM.
He is being OPPOSED and he's WHINING and CRYING and BITCHING.
the picture of obama with his feet on the desk in the oval office a long time ago, told me what caliber man he is.
No rant, here. Just the consequences of their decision. As far as you not liking my posts, I could not care less. Coming from you, I take it as a compliment.
I agree. If Boehner is backing down it's because he's getting major heat from those of us that he inevitably must answer to.
You missed the "GREATLY EXACERBATED by TWO YEARS of DEMOCRAT CONTROL of the HOUSE, SENATE and PRESIDENCY"
One down, two to go.
Thank God! Wow, Boehner has a spine after all. The answer to the dilemma has already been passed by the House, they could have CC&B enacted by Monday!
How does your comment relate to the SH*TCANNING of "Hillarycare" – THE main fiscal misjudgement that cost Clinton the Democrat House in 1994 – for the first time in 40 YEARS?
This 2011 government HAS THE TAX $$$$ to pay S.S./Medicare and PAY the interest on the DEBT. It's time to CUT OFF the MOOCHERS in society. People PAID for their S.S. and Medicare. FURLOUGH the "non-essential" {re: USELESS} FEDERAL GOVERNMENT that SUCKS UP $$$$ and accomplishes LITTLE.
You're not worth the time for a full answer, suffice to say: http://thehill.com/blogs/floor-action/house/17298...
And wrapping a lie in a true statement, is still, at its core, a lie.
There's a GOP PLAN ON THE TABLE. Where's the Demoncrat controlled Senate? They TABLED IT. They PUNTED. They FLED TOWN. THET ABDUCATED their responsibility. They FAILED THE AMERICAN PEOPLE.
You are hardly worth a response. A 6% reduction when the government is borrowing more than 40% of the budget. Hey, times are tough. Obama needs to decide who to pay and not to pay. Oh, and by the way, there are no laws on the subject I am aware of specifically stating who must be paid.
He's {BO, is trying} to DEFEND the indefensiible. Raising TAXES in a reccession is STUPID and irresponsible.
Obama is concerned with his OWN re-election. If the GOP agrees to RAISE TAXES – he has a tool – an issue to DEFLECT away from his own economic FAILURE and generally failed presidency.
I agree completely. We need to furlough the useless government workers. You can begin with the members of Congress who voted for a budget which was not balanced and then tried to welsh on the debt they created. Brilliant, simply brilliant. I love putting the fox in the hen house. Unfortunately, it is your ox which is going to get gored.
Yes, I lie awake at night worrying about the current crop of GOP candidates. But keep up the good work.
40% – FORTY PERCENT of the NATION'S DEBT – from the GEORGE WASHINGTON until NOW – was ACCUMULATED by Obama – and the 111th Congress.
Defend that.
Could not agree more with you. He is a monarch and as a result he needs to make decisions on who to pay and who not to pay. I hope you are not on the receiving end or are you perhaps someone who has a job in the private sector who must rely on the Federal government to pay them for work you have done. In that case, too bad, so sad for you.
You're posts are unusually weak today Bo, what's wrong? Need more fiber in your diet? Need more sleep? Worried about NU going to the Big 10 and into obscurity? What's wrong?
Sorry Bo, the DEMOCRAT 111th Congress {we're in the 112th now} CREATED MORE DEBT in 2 YEARS than in ANY PERIOD since the COUNTRY was founded. $4TRILLION plus $$$$. Incredible. Since most "gob'mint" workers VOTE DEMOCRAT – let's HURT THEM FIRST.
The AMERICAN PEOPLE acted – they KICKED RECORD NUMBERS of DEMONCRATS – done. Now it's "phase two."
{nice job stringing together the cliches`!}
Stopping the dims "progressiveness." So far, so good.
The point, unworthy one, is that the dims begrudge cutting even a few drops of expenditure. Thought it'd be obvious, but those lefty blinders are no doubt hard to wrestle off.
Shut down the DOE and other departments. Sell all their assets (desk, chairs, lamps, computers etc). Sell all the land the Federal government illegally owns, or give it back to the states. http://www.wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=43...
There are plenty of revenue generating sources the Feds have without raising taxes.
It's got the talking points down, though, doesn't it? Tell a lie often enough, and all that.
I know you are not aware of this, but there is plenty extra to cut and still pay for everyone on medicare and Social Securtiy. The problem is that the president and the Dems dont want to cut any of their programs, agencies, and any obvious fraud within entitlements and such as well.
All the Dems want to do is just basically expand government programs and increase taxes, they could care less about balancing the budget, and the president proved yesterday that he has no real interest in balancing the budget or make any hard decessions.
Classic case of talking point constipation.
Actually, Obama has been doing nothing but playing games. Just the other day and even before that all he ever did was just play the blame game and class warfare to. Neither the president or any of the Dems have proposed any real plans at all. And Obama just wants is just an increase in taxes and that will not fix anything at all, just to let them spend more.
I will say this, if you havent figured that out already, then you are a bigger idiot than what I thought you were before.
Absolutely true. I think Boehner realizes that even he, as speaker, cannot get anything through the house without the Tea Party leaning Congressmen being on board. He doesn't have the iron grip that Pelosi had on her Congress.
Same standard tea party line. The Republican House did not submit a balanced budget. I call on President Obama to balance it and bring the point home. After all, there are absolutely no consequences to not raising the debt limit, now are there?
Thank you.
