In the two previous blog installments “Part 1: Quid Pro Quo” and “Part 2: Get Out Jail Free Cards” the real-life scandal of government union boss Ron Saathoff is documented. “Part 1” exposes Saathoff’s abuse of his position and taxpayers to reap a special taxpayer-funded retirement increase...

Happy Easter and may God Bless y'all !!!!!!
May you all have a blessed Easter!
Since it's a holiday, the AWashington Post has an article today about why the administration hasn't closed Guantanamo. Buried in the story is the information that they planned to sneak terrorists into the United States and announce trials after they were already here.

"We're on the one road
Sharing the one load
We're on the road to God knows where
We're on the one road
It may be the wrong road
But we're together now who cares
North men, South men, comrades all
Dublin, Belfast, Cork and Donegal
We're on the one road swinging along
Singing a soldier's song"
Acdg to the O.T. Genealogies along with the N.T. update, Jesus Christ was the 77th man from Adam. Reading all of the "Begats" in the genealogies was a boring read for me at first…but then I realized it's organized and recorded just like our County's Records, certifiable records of births, deaths, more children born, marriages, etc. Both evidences from either records will hold up in court today.
We've all heard of the Devil's Number being #666, right? Well, using the same Greek, alpha-numcerica language system…the # of Christ's name is #888.
Jesus Christ was the lst resurrection..(raptured – Caught up to the Heavens) The 2nd General Resurrection is going to happen at some time, and I feel it in the air.
There were 257 O.T. prophecies regarding the lst coming of Christ, the Jewish Messiah. The Pivotal Prophecy was or is, Isaiah Ch 7: 14…"Unto us a child is born and His name shall be called…… .."
The odds of this all happening are beyond, way beyond Astronomical.
Easter is much more than the Easter bunny, Easter baskets and Easter eggs, or the family's excursion to the beach. Economically speaking, Easter isn't even close to the sales made at Christmas. But Easter is more; much, bigger than Christmas.
In December, we celebrate a birth, the birth of the Christ child. But at Easter, we celebrate the reason for His birth; to be a sacrifice for mankind's sins on the altar of the cross. But it did not end there, or Christianity would have died in that tomb. True followers believe that Christ overcame death and rose. For Christians, this is the heart & soul of our faith.
A fiction? A fairy tale? Not to Christians. Its gives our lives meaning, filling us with hope. We believe there is more beyond this life. As Christ rose from the grave, we too will experience the same, when Christ comes again and judges this world.
To all those around the world, from Mexico, to China, to India, to Europe, to our persecuted brothers & sisters in Egypt, Sudan, Iraq, rejoice in the Risen Christ, the Prince of Peace, the Lord of Divine Mercy. A Blessed & Happy Easter to All!!

I linked to it through Canada Free Press. Has a lot to do with the Passion and resurrection. Solid, verifiable evidence that something happened 2000 years ago that was definitely out of the ordinary in the general course of human events.
Happy Easter!
Happy Easter my friend.
May we have many many more to come………..
If Northern Ireland can finally throw off its chains–rationally and peaceably, IRA!–then this Ireland-descended gal will be very grateful.
A hat-tip to the Easter Rising, a ballad called The Patriot Game:
Come all ye young rebels, and list while I sing,
For the love of one's country is a terrible thing.
It banishes fear with the speed of a flame,
And it makes us all part of the patriot game.
My name is O'Hanlon, and I've just turned sixteen.
My home is in Monaghan, and where I was weaned
I learned all my life cruel England's to blame,
So now I am part of the patriot game.
This Ireland of ours has too long been half free.
Six counties lie under John Bull's tyranny.
But still De Valera is greatly to blame
For shirking his part in the Patriot game.
It's nearly two years since I wandered away
With the local battalion of the bold IRA,
For I read of our heroes, and wanted the same
To play out my part in the patriot game.
And now as I lie here, my body all holes
I think of those traitors who bargained in souls
And I wish that my rifle had given the same
To those traitors who sold out the patriot game.
Christ was given a promotion to "Son of God" at the First Council of Nicea. Before that, he was just a community organizer.
Besides, my imaginary friend is better than your imaginary friend.

Our country is so fantabulous that it allows even freakish cultists like you to worship the Duck of your choice.
Actually He always was/is/will be the Son of God. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. I'm glad you have an imagination, but with God I need not imaginative things to experience the reality of His presence.
Zat true 'bout Boto?
Apology accepted.
Golly gee whiz. I hope you are not disappointed when this superstition of yours turns out to be a pipe dream.
You could run a black dog for President and 99% of them would vote for it.
Christianity is a much larger freakish cult. My freakish cult is superior to your freakish cult.

That is why it takes faith to believe it.
This morning, at church, I had the most profound experience of my life. I'd love to share it with my "Big" friends. First, a bit of background…
The past six or so years of my life have been very difficult: a divorce after a 25-year marriage… long periods of unemployment and depression… I lost both of my parents within a couple of years… and, much to my everlasting regret, I have no children. Six months ago, after the death of my mother I was living in North Carolina, with my sister. I received an offer to go to work as a radio news anchor for a small group of stations in the midwest. I really had no desire to come here, and the pay was (and is) very, very low… I live almost at the poverty level. One of the reasons I took the job was so I could finally get health insurance, but find that with my salary as low as it is, I cannot afford the company's policy.
Anyway, back in November, I met a woman through Facebook who I had met and gone out with once a few years back in Pennsylvania. She had had remarkably similar experiences, and was staying with a sister in northern Illinois. Well, to condense that part of the story, we were married in December. Quickly, though, she knew she didn't want to live here, and neither did I… so we decided that she'd go and stay with my sister in North Carolina, and find work. When she did, I'd join her there. And I decided that I'd rather, literally, be a janitor in a bowling alley than to continue to do the kind of work I do.
Unfortunately, my employer here found out that she's there, and that I'd join her when she finds work… and now he's decided to look for my replacement. So soon, I may be out of a job with unemployment compensation an uncertainty. If that happens, before my wife finds work, then we'll both be out of a job, 700 miles apart, and having to depend on the charity of my beloved sister until we can get on our feet. By the way… we're both in our fifties… no longer young.
So frankly, I've been full of anxiety and fear, apprehension, unable to sleep… and yet doing an exceptional job at work, just to make sure they have no reason to let me go for cause. The stress has been excruciating.
I was invited to attend a local church this morning… Easter Sunday. Now, I've always considered myself "spiritual but not religious." But today, as the music played, I found myself asking, finally, for Jesus to become my lord and savior. And as I did, my hands were raised, tears streamed down my cheeks, and I felt a light, a power and a healing love I had never before known. And in that wonderful moment, I knew that after all these years, I understood what it meant to be a Christ follower. My wife had had the same experience a few years before, and it had always bothered her that I hadn't taken that step. Now, she's overjoyed… as am I.
Our circumstances have not changed. We have some rough times ahead. But now, I know that ultimately everything will be okay, because today, on Easter Sunday 2011, I have finally begun my walk with the Lord.
Thank you for allowing me to share this with you — Happy Easter, and praise be to God!
What have you done about any of those thing for which you mischaracterized me that I haven't done, macnvettes? That's what I thought.
Apology accepted.
You're free to say and think what you choose. That doesn't mean anyone will give it one iota of credence.
Tapadh leat; dia dhuit.
Indeed, God says with faith all is possible–not guaranteed, and not easy. Bless you!
7 of the most important words ever spoken:
"He is not here, He is risen" !!!!
"Fools mock but they shall mourn"
I'm happy for you Flig Narson, put your trust in God and let him direct your life. God Bless you.
First of all Ireland is NOT independent. Northern Ireland remains part of the UK. Second on Easter Sunday Publius chooses to celebrate a terrorist organisation which allied itself with Englands enemies during WW1 and which to this day targets innocent civilians , women and children indescriminately. But perhaps I should expect no better from a nation which supported and financed murder of English and Irish alike via Noraid.
By the same logic maybe Publius should run a thread celebrating the Glorious 19 of 9/11 who employed much the same tactics with same disregard for human life? Why not do it on Christmas day? Maybe Obama could present a eulogy to 'freedom fighters' on C SPAN ? The IRA,Al Qaeda, Hamas etc. Thats if he's not busy bowing and crawling to the Saudi's or the Chinese.
I served in Ireland, I have family in Ireland, my mother was irish and if she were still alive you could ask her and her and her brothers about the IRA. About the intimidation,extortion, bombings, beatings, kneecappings, blindings with acid and bleach,
Happy Easter Christ is Risen.
I've been changing my pic, name etc., at least daily for months now. I've been on the "Bigs" for more than a year and a half. If you had been here more than a day and a half, you might know that.
You continue to try to demonize me because I showed you the mistakes you made in your misdirected rant at me, it embarrassed you, and now you want revenge for your embarrassment that you brought on yourself with your haste to demonize someone over something you misunderstood. And you think I'm cowardly, stupid, disingenuous, etc.
The quote from Reagan I referred to was spot on and you know it but, because you have a hate on for Reagan and are a hothead, you pretended that my appreciation for that quote was demonstrative of an appreciation for everything he did when I didn't comment on a single other thing about him–that makes you a liar. And you think I'm cowardly, stupid, disingenuous, etc.? You're the posterboard for all the sh*tty things you accused me of being yesterday. Have a bad day–you deserve it.
Apology accepted.
HE IS RISEN!
HE IS RISEN INDEED!
Remember those words…when our parents and grandparents spoke them to each other at Easter morning service?
And therein lies the difference between the Judeo/Christian religion and others…OUR GOD LIVES!
~~~
GOD BLESS AMERICA THE LAND OF THE FREE AND THE HOME OF THE BRAVE…AND MILLIONS AND MILLIONS OF AMERICANS PRAYING TO KEEP HER THAT WAY!
"Oh, come out you black and tans,
Come out and fight me like a man
Show your wives how you won medals down in Flanders
Tell them how the IRA made you run like hell away,
From the green and lovely lanes in Killashandra."
Flig: That's awesome–congratulations. Remember this moment. Walking with God in this life is a marathon, not a sprint, and there are times where you will be winded from the race. Never stop running 'til you see Him face to face. God bless you.
Oval, I have read your posts and they are very good. Thank you for your service to your nation and thank for your service to Western Civilization…..we are all in this together.
You are 100% correct that the IRA of 1916 received support from the Germans and WW I was in full force and fury. The Germans did not give a tinker's damn about Irish independence but they did want to case a distraction for the British and force them to pull troops out of France to quell the unrest in Ireland.
I to not believe that the IRA of 1916 were communists. They were Irish nationalists….predominately Catholic. The IRA of today are marxist and largely atheists. In the past Northern Ireland Catholics faced severe discrimination and I believe that for the most part that is not longer the case. In fact the irony today is that British soldiers are as likely to face attack from violent Protestant thugs as they are IRA/Catholic thugs. The British Army is there to keep the peace.
1916 is a different time and a different world. Americans and British soldiers, sailors, marines and airmen have fought shoulder to shoulder and died side by side in WW I, WW II, Korea, Afghanistan, Iraq and other places that will never be mentioned. I for one am one American of Irish decent who is damn glad to have such a close friend and ally. When I worked at the CIA I quickly learned that in the final analysis America has four friends and only four friends that it can count on….UK, Australia, Canada and New Zealand. In the final analysis it is the English speaking countries of the work that will stand together.
A belated Happy Easter to you….Christ is Risen….Risen for us all.
