Friday-Free-for-All: White Rose Edition
by PubliusToday, in 1943, Hans and Sophie Scholl and other members of the White Rose resistance movement were arrested by the Nazis, and then later executed. While public sector tenure bums who earn more money than the average taxpayer invoke comparisons to the Nazis during their protests in Madison, WI, they should spend some time thinking about what it was really like to go against the Nazis. The Scholl’s were college kids who gave their lives to fight fascism. The unions in Madison are upset they might have to pay 12% of their health insurance costs. (Yes, you read that right.) No one should take them seriously.

"No one should take them seriously."
And the great thing is that people are wising up to the facts pretty fast. These fools are only making it harder for the boat of freeloaders living off the productive class.
We are the majority. And when we unite, we will be unstoppable. We will then sweep these losers into the dustbin of history.
The common denominator that links and will unite nearly all people together is dislike of the government. Even the unproductive class that lives off the efforts of the productive class dislikes the government. Dislike of government is an all-time record high and will not be getting better any time soon.
I never thought I'd see the day when Americans needed to look to a group who fought the Nazis for inspiration.
What is so ironic is those with the weakest respect because of the abject failure to educate are the ones that are squeeling the loudest. A full time wage for a 2/3 of the year job. It has often been said that those who can, do and those who can't , teach. The question is what have they been teaching?
I was chatting with my son this evening when he came in from work about this. Something my folks shared with me when I was a fresh young lady looking for work was along the lines of: If you want security and a steady paycheck become a government drone and if you want opportunities for success go into business. Drones make less but are safe and business people risk failure while striving for challeges and rewards. Now days we are upside down in the fiancial arena of Public Service and get poor quality and high costs. I think it is time for a major reset button PUSH!
As the Governor has threatened to bring in the National Guard to quell the unrest, perhaps this over the top analogy isn't as ridiculous as it appears.
Defying scapegoating and threats, the public sector unions fighting for their rights in Wisconsin should remember executed White Rose member Hans Scholl's final words, "Let freedom live".
Breaking news-Supremes to check Prez's eligibility! World Net Daily reporting! http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pag...
We beat the Nazis and then the Soviets, and socialism still ends up dominating Europe and threatening the US.
How the hell did that happen?
There are signs up that the Wisconsin Governor is Hitler. As this thread shows if he was really Hitler those protesters will in jail and executed the Democrats in the Senate would've resigned volunatarily according to the media with replacements totally loyal to the Governor being installed yesterday.
But then again these are teachers who don't know squat about American history let alone world history.

The left always CRIES the loudest when they glimpse a pic of Obama with a Hitler mustache…and now, it's the norm when THEY have something to protest! Maybe WI. should show them exactly 'what' the likes of a Hitler would do to their organized rioting!!??? Not promoting violence or anything, but, THIS kind of 'behavior' is exactly what Obama has wet dreams about!
Enough already! Call out the National Guard!!!
Oh, dear God.
YES, it is as ridiculous as it appears. More ridiculous, in fact. Tell you what, you mindless leftist drone, when the governor has the strikers executed, you get back to us with that Nazi comparison. Until then, all you're doing is making yourself look foolish by defending it.
People are cowards and lazy. Promise them enough to get by with no work and far, far too many will take it.
The choice between govt handouts vs. hard work and taking risks is too hard for many people, and they opt for the easy path.
Public Employee UNIONS are an ABOMINATION!
They should never have been allowed they are inherently in a conflict of interest.
REPEAL Executive order 10988!!!!
Just a word of thanks Publius!
Keep it coming my Conservative friend.
There is a rumor of Civil War…Proggs will receive foreign aid…as they do now…it's their plan…the invoice for freedom is overdue…never forget the gift of the Scholls….
Never underestimate the Power of the Dark Side…
House votes to overthrow 'czars'
“These unappointed, unaccountable people who are literally running a shadow government, heading up these little fiefdoms that nobody can really seem to identify where they are or what they’re doing,” Scalise said Thursday. “But we do know that they’re wielding vast amounts of power.”

/ Wooohoooo !
phuck you, AzzzzBot…Bust to Dust the communist Unions now squealing for more after eating all there is…
Believe it or not, there ARE some conservative professors in this country, and we're supporting Governor Walker, as well as every other politician elected to get spending under control.
All about the kids my ass!…Milwaukee public schools closed.
..650+ teachers "sick"…I have to go to DMV today…hope Its staffed
Kind'a puts ''things' in perspective, doesn't it boys and girls?
Thanks Publius…
.
Sorry, Djmcs11, but it's not "scapegoating" to point out that the biggest offender in the cesspool public schools have become are the unions who bully Democrat legislators into granting them gold-plated benefit packages–almost infinitely more generous than those get who actually PAY for those benefits.
It's high time that Gov. Walker went Reagan on them and fired everyone of them that he has the authority to do and to compel his legislature to pass legislation that he would sign to defund the rest.
Fox News is reporting this morning that Media Matters and other leftist groups are FINANCING these protests, paying for buses to transport "protestors" to Madison, paying for hotels, meals, etc. That alone should tell us that these are just a bunch of communists trying to bring down rational and reasonable government activities for their own benefit.
It's a shame that I can't thumbs up this more than once.
Exactly. Scott Walker isn't Hitler but the organized protest looks more like the Munich Putsch.
Mornin Corn.
Seems like things are getting crazier and crazier. Some good like the Gov in WI, some bad like the rage on the streets of the middle east (like that won't reach our shores or impact our lives)…
Have a good weekend. I heading out to the Ranch.
It might be staffed but you'll be there all day and never get your business done and then told to come back tomorrow.
If I spoke Spanish I could be in and out of the DMV in half an hour
Either have a little pain now through modest attrition, or forced agony from a total collapse. I know, I’m asking the parasite to have mercy on the host, and the ability to reason.
Read a book on what nazis were…my grandfather hated you people that called other americans nazis..
he earned that right killing real nazis
Hi there CE, Enjoy your weekend at the Ranch! Be thankful (I know you are) that you have a nice
escape.
I wrote in a comment somewhere just this week that the protests in Greece, and now Egypt are an
example set by the LEFT to convince their own US UNION members that protesting will equal suc-
cess.
The unabashed greed of the WI teachers UNION is breathtaking…
Evidently they don't understand the country is in dire straits and cannot afford to continue with all
their lavish bennies. LOL, can they not see what they are asking for is exactly what put General
Motors out of biz? I guess they can't…
I can only pray that that WI Governor has backbone enough to refuse to back down. That UNION
dang sure won't get a better deal from the next one. The WI citizen will see to that.
.
Another thing about this Gov. Walker=Hitler message: As was observed on last night's RedEye, look at some of those signs carefully. They draw a comparison between the Governor and some man named "Hilter". These people are supposed to be educators; in practice, they're too stupid to even be good at drawing incredibly overblown comparisons.
It's been 24 years since Jimmy Carter gave us the Department of Education, and our students are infinitely stupider than they were two-and-one-half decades ago. How could they be otherwise? The TEECHURS R STOOPID 2!
We really should consider just closing all the public schools. The kids couldn't possibly get any dumber than they are now.
As usual Obama has it 100% wrong.
He called what is happening in Wisconsin as an assault on the unions when the truth is it is the taxpayers who are under assault form the public employees unions.
They are grabbing the taxpayers by the ankles and shaking them upside down for every last nickel.
Union….freedom Hahahahahahahaha Hahahahahahahahahah
Man that is funny Hahahhahaha
The government has every right to remove you thugs from the capitol building !
Prosperity after a few generations tends to breed a complacent population more interested in being entertained than being vigilant.
I wonder how all of these left-wing union whiners would do and live under a real left-wing fascist totalitarian dictatorship like…wait for it…Nazi Germany. Unions were destroyed, no freedom, no pay/wage rights, all of the liberal things they believe in outlawed (except maybe that homosex thing). Sometimes I can't believe that our grandfathers and fathers fought, with zeal, to rid the world of such evils as Nazism and Communism only to have whiny, bitchy, brats piss and moan about having to Deal With Life.
The collective bargaining experience in this country,………
which once was a positive force for the economy and……..
and helped build the industrial might of this country has long ago,…..
ceased to be a "bargain" for our nation.
The problem is that the government union workers are the last group,….
of Americans that are still benefiting from this "bargain"……
For this reason Madison Wisconsin is going to become one big PR campaign,…….
and we all know who wins those,.unless of course,…
Gov. Walker emulates Ronald Reagan.
Closed minds are small minds……People screaming and complaining cannot "think". They are simply mindless drones, who feel "useful". In the Wisconsin case, these are the people teaching your children? Knowing history is vital- one of the first stories of the power of "brains" I give my children, has been the "white rose ". Adults are grown-up children, simply because one is older, doesn't mean one is smarter or braver! It makes me cry every time I think of Hans and Sophie.
Wally, next time I'm in town, I'd like to buy you a beer…..
The Governor has talked about bringing in the National Guard to DO THE JOBS THAT THE STRIKING WORKERS AREN'T DOING! "Quelling the unrest" has nothing to do with it.
They are the most uneducated, freedom hating, incapable, useless scum sucking cry babies. I take them as serious as a child throwing a tantrum.
The Guard will do the jobs of the striking workers….
Let freedom live…correct the government works for the people…..Not the other way around….
Sorry Djmcs11, your lies won't work here, people are too well informed. Take your lies over to Huffpo where they are welcome and your Leftist bonehead buddies will not only embrace them but will also embellish them and feed them back to you.
He knows that. Leftist love to lie, that's what they do.
RE: Obama's comments on the "assault on unions"….
Remember Obama publicly excoriating the guaranteed secured bondholders for being greedy because they were unwilling to accept pennies on the dollar–contrary to US Bankruptcy Laws–and cheerfully go along with Obama's brilliant business plan for recovery by giving GM to the very unions that ran it into the ground in the first place?
Andrew, any chance we can get a video up of those two clips played side by side?
Obama statements on spending issues devolve into Clintonesqe word-parsing and classic politician double-speak.
Usually a varation of "<we must do this critical thing>; but <we must not do this critical thing>".
A latest example when speaking about Wisconsin:
"I think everybody's got to make some adjustments, but I think it's also important to recognize that public employees make enormous contributions to our states and our citizens," he continued.
"Adjustments"? As usual, his word choices diminishes the issue. The "adjustment" is that Wisconsin has x revenues so they try to spend less than x. It's mathematical. Do or do not. Spend less than you take in. Token gestures "to adjust" do not count.
Having just lowered the bar on what is required, the second half of his sentence goes on to suggest why what's required should be ignored; namely, his cronies interests supercede interests of everyone else. But again, his word choices try vainly to obscure his obvious motivations.
President Obama: Everyone knows what the game is, where you're coming from, and what your tactics are. It's obvious you don't intend to acknowledge the will of the people. So we will eject you from office, and elect someone motivated by the welfare of the country rather than the protection of crony thugs.
Exactly W. They will be filling in critical positions (prison guards, etc.) if those entities choose to take a powder.
Of course the Liberal hacks and their losers MSM mouth-pieces will twist it into "They are calling in the Guard to go Kent State on the defensless group."
People fell asleep.
They are having another conference on it, but I don't think its accepted before the court yet. But I agree this is a good thing.
When unions allow their members to donate money to them instead of taking it out of their pay before they even see it then you can blather on about fascist methods.
I have been googling and reading this heartbreaking story and while I appreciate the juxtaposition posed by this article… it is stunning we even mention the two in the same breath. Theirs is an unspeakable and tragic story of true courage. The Wisconsin charade is nothing but a childish temper tantrum.
The Gov should pull a Reagan and fire striking teachers. It's not like there aren't teachers out of work who would be more than happy to pay that increase.
He should put out a freakin AMBER ALERT for his missing legislators, and the rules committee should enact every fine and punishment on the books for their misconduct and dereliction of duty.
People did nothing and let others with loud mouths and offensive language take positions of power.
The average Wisconsin teacher makes $100,000 in salary and benfits (60k/40k).
They are being asked to contribute 12% of their top-notch health care premiums, and 10% of their extremely, obscenely lucrative retirement benefits.
And the Governor is seeking to put some limits on their bully union.
I make considerably less than that, pay 25% of my mediocre healthcare premium, and 50% of my retirement (401k).
I don't have a union – don't want one.
Every day I show up at work, I know I'd better earn my pay, or I may be shown the door – there are lots and lots of people who are looking for a job.
This spurs me on to always do my best, or damn close.
There is no taking off from work for 3 days so I can go whine about my boss in front of the tv cameras, dragging along my kids and making them hold up signs for the money-shot.
I'd say my situation here in Michigan is much closer to that of the vast majority of Wisconsin workers than is the teachers' situation.
I hope the hard working people of Wisconsin realize that it is on their backs – and those of their children – that these teachers wish to place the cost of maintaining them in their unsustainable standard of living.
Why doesn't he just fire them; they are violating their contract to teach by fraudulently calling in "sick."
Making these jerkwads pay into and for their own benefits v Nazi's .Did you school in Wisconsin?
As I agonized over the failure of leaders to take swift, Reaganesque action and fire these slackers who are bleeding Wisconsin taxpayers dry and destroying Wisconsin's children with horrible examples of good citizenship, a friend on another board admonished me to count my blessings. And being FROM the "Right To Work" state of Texas and living in the "Right To Work" state of Arizona, I have many blessings to count.
"A blind boy sat on the steps of a building with a hat by his feet. He held up a sign which said: "I am blind, please help." There were only a few coins in his hat.
A man was walking by. He took a few coins from his pocket and dropped them into his hat. He then took the sign, turned it around, and wrote some words. He put the sign back so that everyone who walked by would see the new words.
Soon the hat began to fill up. A lot more people were giving money to the blind boy. That afternoon the man who had changed the sign came to see how things were. The boy recognized his footsteps and asked, "Were you the one who changed my sign this morning? What did you write?"
The man said, "I only wrote the truth. I said what you said but in a different way." I wrote:
"Today is a beautiful day but I cannot see it."
So write, call, ACT for the greater good while counting your blessings that you are not among the ill, the bankrupt, the unemployed.
If you ARE among them count this blessing: we who are not are fighting for you, praying for you and your families, and doing everything in our power to help you. And we will not stop until you are again free to be prosperous.
Remember, it isn't a paycheck we remember when we think of "good times." It is the laughter and love shared with friends and family. So have a laughter filled, loving weekend.
If you spoke Arabic they'd bow to you and treat you like royalty.
I wonder how all of these left-wing union whiners would do and live if they actually had a non-union, private sector job, Bee.
Great point!
Unions "bully" Democrat-ick Senators? How about "pay"?
We let them "educate" us.
The NEW hijacked word by these Socialists is "Democracy" …a very respectable idea, indeed, which ranks very high in ALL polling data, Tyler. Hopefully, the sheeples will see through this one, too (like Progressive, Liberal, etc).
Democracy …NOT a good thing. Iran, Libya, Lebanon …even Islam claims to be a Democracy.
The United States of America was founded as a Republic …the Founders KNEW what they were doing.
It should be mentioned, in fairness, that when the Wisconsin Teacher's Union called their membership and issued the order for them to phone in "sick" for this protest…..only 40% responded.
Unemployment is high in this country. Wonder how fast they could be replaced with teachers who WANT TO TEACH? I'm thinkin under 24 hours.
My gosh…They would have to grow up…
" And when we unite, we will be unstoppable."
Well how do we unite. We can't just get together for Tax Day Tea Parties every April 15th, with a 9/12 and an 8/28 thrown in for good measure.
If all those Progs are in Madison and other places protesting, where are the local Tea Parties.
I know that we usually don't do such things because we have jobs and responsibilities which we take seriously.
But here's a suggestion: perhaps we should find out if there are any unemployed Tea Partiers out there, or ones that have the money and time to do this. Organize it that way.
We have to show Walker and the GOP that we are behind them, or they will fold like a deck of cards.
We can't be the Silent Majority anymore.
Exactly – it's not scapegoating when it's a FACT.
Unions aren't freedom. They are just another master telling you what to do.
maybe later….
Right now, I've got to keep a low profile…..
