Planned Parenthood Says it Did Nothing Wrong; Orders Retraining for All Staff

Planned Parenthood will retrain staff in all clinics on reporting risks to minors’ welfare and tighten disciplinary action to terminate staff in any confirmed instances where policies are not followed, the organization said on Tuesday.
The retraining efforts, beginning immediately through April 1, are for “anyone who has direct patient contact” and reassert Planned Parenthood’s commitment to women’s health care and protecting young people, said spokesman Stuart Schear.
The announcement comes as anti-abortion group Live Action on Tuesday released another undercover video it said shows the health services provider aiding and abetting sexual exploitation of minors.
In the video, filmed at a New York City clinic, two individuals tell clinic employees that they are involved in sex work and ask questions about documentation, making appointments, insurance and guardianship requirements for services for teenage girls who do not speak fluent English.
Planned Parenthood responded to the latest release saying the conversation as portrayed is not accurate and defended the actions of its employees.
Read the whole thing here. One would have hoped Planned Parenthood staff wouldn’t have to be “trained” to protect victims of sex trafficking. You’d think that just went along with being human.

If they never did this before, how many police reports did they file on minors that came in for abortion counseling last year. I'm guessing ZERO! I'm guessing they had a thousand minors come in. Why was there so much righteous indignation over what Michael Vick did to a couple of dogs while the horror of abortion continually flies under the radar? What does that say about the priorities of our society? Shouldn't a baby have at least as much right to life as a puppy?

There's a very old slogan that covers this situation: "Ignorance is Strength." It's always seen in the company of its siblings, "War is Peace" and "Freedom is Slavery."
IF they did nothing wrong, then why the need to for retraining? Better still, how do they know if they did nothing wrong if they won't look at the video evidence that clearly shows that they did?

And I'm guessing that almost all of those minors were victims of sexual abuse by their fathers or other members of the family or were sexually involved with other minors (i.e. not statutory rape). In these cases, where the minors may not have wanted their parents notified, I don't have a problem with PP not asking and not notifying parents and/or police.

PP spokesman isn't upset by what his organization is doing. He is upset that what they are doing has been exposed to the light of day. These workers HAVE been trained. They have been trained to not be "judgmental' to the point that they don't know how to have any good judgment…..and that non- judgmental attitude FEELS humane to them.
