RNC Open Thread
by PubliusTonight, the RNC elected Reince Priebus as the next RNC Chair. As state chair in WI, Priebus managed to shrink the number of both small and major donors. (There is a reason the GOP is called the stupid party.) Donate money to the RNC at your own peril. We will have news soon about an alternative. Hold onto your checkbooks for now though. There will be a multi-pronged effort to deny donations to the RNC. Stay tuned.

Well, this makes it awfully difficult to pull out the wallet. Looks like we will have to continue to leverage the GOP with TEA Party influence….
VOTE NO TO RINOS.
I won't be giving a dime to the RNC, go directly to the candidates and demand compliance with the constitution above all before you shell out any donation to any of them!
Game is over. The GOP have an opportunity to redeem themselves, however, if they blow it here, you can bet there will a third party that will make them into dinosaurs.

I stopped donating to the RINOS in the RNC a looooong time ago. All my donations and contributions go directly to the campaigns of the candidates I support.
There was no clear Tea Party dog in this hunt. Those of us who place principle over party had already pronounced our verdict…"meh".

I'll only donate to Constitutional Conservatives. The Progressive RINOs will only get my finger….
I posted elsewhere that both Mark Belling (WISN) and Vicki McKenna (WIBA) both believe Reince Priebus will do a good job. I will defer to their judgement until I learn otherwise.

Big Gov has posted negative article after article ripping Rience. Some of them were very dishonest. Paul Ryan endorsed Reince for Christ sake. I am sure that Paul Ryan would endorse a Rino(scarcasm). Big Gov was in the bag for Ann Wagner but didn't really want to say so. So they tore down Reince and now that they lost and are pouting. That being said I still really enjoy the site. I just wish that they would have been more honest in their representation of the candidates and who they backed in the behind the scenes game.
You need to back up what you say. Give us trusted sources of information and we can decide if you are correct. BG is a no bs site. Can you deny the firm that employs/employed Rience Priebus has benefited from Obamacare? This is no popularity contest, it is serious business for our Republic.

All I can say is look what happened in WI. The winning the governorship, state assembly, state senate, and defeating Feingold and the majority of the assembly seats. Dave Obey was so scared he didnt even run for reelection. Reince was a big factor in that. WI has done a 180 and 90% of the candidates were conservative republicans. As far as the debate goes he was the front runner and as a rule you try and play it safe.
He is just one more casualty of this battle btwn the ppl and politicians. You can be sure DC there will be more, the ppl of this nation have had it with all of you!
With a RINO like Steele out of the way it will be interesting to see what the republicants do and who they prop up for 2012. Doesnt really matter though they are all the same in my book socialist or republicant just 2 faces of the progressive beast that must be put down.

That’s why we can’t leave it up to the RNC. We changed Steele, he didn’t like it – - either embrace the Tea Party, conservatism or perish.
Great. Now I'm going to have to learn how to pronounce his name.
My prediction, the GOP is going to be heavily divided. Palin will win the nomination. A far right, Libertarian-ish candidate will run, splitting the vote. We will suffer through another 4 years of Obama's New Deal.
Then in 2016 America will finally have suffered enough and Rand Paul will win a landslide and restore the Republic.
Well, I'll just say that he is what we got from the RNC. My hope is that he surprises us all and turns that ship around. But he should realize that he is starting out with a lot of opposition and suspicion from the Conservative voter base. He's got a long, uphill climb ahead of him.
That is what I have done for the past several cycles here in NM.
There are Progressive Republicans, Democrats, Independents and Tea Party. It is not just adherence to the Constitution, but what do they see as their role. They can believe in the Constitution but they also see Government as an entity that takes care of it's people. This leads to an Arrogant Government. It is the illusion that just because they were elected to serve in our government they hold a special place above the public. They see society as a collective and believe it is their job to take care of our daily lives. In other words protect us from ourselves. The Constitution was written for us not the Government. It is a blueprint of how we protect ourselves from an Arrogant Government and the single most important thing that the Constitution provides is an irrevocable license to have Individual Freedom to pursue our own happiness. So I look at what they have done and how they have voted on issues that don't support Individual freedom.

As have many of you, I stopped giving to them in the last election cycle, choosing to give directly to candidates. After what they did in withholding support or begrudgingly showing up late to help the "unapproved RNC" candidates, then electing this man, I see they have not heard my voice, nor felt the loss of my money.
Please so keep us posted as to a viable alternative. There is more power in organized rebellion.

Howard Dean as DNC Chair led the Dems to a huge 2008 win and afterwards the Dems dumped him, without even a bone to chew on in the Obama administration. Howard is an assclown and the Dems were smart to shut him out…..but I hope the GOP finds a way to treat Steele better than that.
Krauthammer just called Steele a great Republican and a great politician…but was in the wrong job as GOP Chair. I agree with that.
Steele has something important to say about Obama's lack of leadership and the GOP needs to find a fitting platform for him to say it.

As I stated before the RNC must, must elect a solid conservative that believes in the founding principles if they want to raise money and have credibility. They blew it. Priebus is not what the RNC needed but is a message to me like, screw you, we know what we are doing. I say screw them, I will fund candidates independently and raise money for them in the same manner.

I think we are guaranteed a third party. There is too much division on the Right. Plus I think the Dems will encourage if not finance a third party.
That is exactly the point, if the leaders of the RNC were actually following the vision and the intent of the constitution we would not have 20.5 MILLION government employees!
The constitution intends small government directly responsible to the people, free from the temptations of graft and monetary influence that come with power.

He is a partner in a law firm that is one of the biggest in the state. He is one of 142 partners. He is a corporate litigator for them. The articles I am referring to do not state this fact. It is atleast implied that he had something to do with that. The firm he works for issued a press release that talked about the constitutionality of Obamacare. There is no evidence that he was involved in that brief. It was a shoddy article. I commented on it then. It is hard to deny that Big Gov has an ax to grind with Rience. They rarely ripped any of the other candidates which has led me to believe they have an agenda, which I wouldn't have cared about if they would have been honest about it. Like I said in my post above I like the Big sites and read them daily but I feel they were wrong and dishonest about Rience.
I hope he does to. I just wish that based on what he accomplished in WI he would be given a fair shake at Big Gov.

A well financed Rino with the RNC keeping its distance from there "new" "Tea Party" candidate ala Alaska would be a more typical play for these arse clowns. I saw Charlatan Krauthammered glowing with pride that this man won. I further saw Charlatan digging against the Tea Parties even more and taking his shot at Sarah Palin (again).
I saw Republicans thumping each other on the back while this simpering pussy took his bows.
I saw Democrats rubbing their hands together with anticipation of destroying yet another losing league of leaders from the corrupt ruling-class of Republican appropriators…
I saw all the people – in total relief – who told me that we had to change the Republican Party from within and that it would be unnecessary for the Tea Parties to fracture and destroy the GOP.

Funny, Steele didn't say anything about Obama when it could have mattered. Steele used his position with the RNC to write, sell and promote his book. Krauthammer never knows from one day to the next what he is or what he stands for. He's either naive, stupid or the biggest phony on the block. Steele HAD a "fitting platform" and put the RNC 20 million in debt. How much more do you think he should be given for total failure?
Unfortunately, Clint, we are less than two years away from an election that we cannot lose. We have to choose a candidate that has the skills to lead the country away from catastrophe, AND the public appeal to beat a billion dollar obama campaign.
In that time-frame, if I saw a possibility to do that outside of this blasted organization, I'd be all over it. I don't see it.
With that said, I believe there are a lot of organizations that will help carry the ball more effectively than the RNC in the next election. And I'll be supporting them. But I also think we're going to need every horse we have to pull this cart over the finish line. Even that lame, sickly RNC horse.
After we've won that next battle I will gladly talk about reorganizing the whole structure, including the RINO establishment in the RNC. Until then, we need to push them as hard as we can, while working to make up for the deficits.
Well, it's not just Big Gov. No matter who it is on the Republican side, there is a serious trust deficit that exists with the public. Whether it's Reince, Boehner, or the 2012 candidates, they are going to have to overcome that trust deficit before they're given a fair shake.
It's a brutal truth. But that's just the reality of where we're at.

I agree. What the Republicans needed was not another person wearing the same Republican t-shirt just a different size. They needed someone who bucks the dress code and wears a coat and tie, means business and has the character to conduct that business. Kind of a weak metaphor but the Republicans will just have more of the same. Just more lip service and no action. I will be surprised if anything changes in the Republican party. They also plan to infest the Tea Party with the same lethargic "realism" just to water it down. You think they want a third party anymore than the Demoncraps? If the Tea party is co-opted the Dems win. We need a "Horse of a different color".

When I heard that Steele dropped out I was monetarily hopeful. I then read on and found that the only less appealing choice was made.

1- Raises money!
2- Accounts for every penny!
3- Runs around the Country supporting OUR fiscally Conservative Repub Constitutionalists! and defends our Freedoms. That means Repeal & Replace the Socialist Bill, ObamaCare! and enforce our Fed Laws! or Impeach him!
4- Finds & cultivates Reps that will FIGHT FOR OUR FREEDOMS that we are losing daily with Omarxist!
5- WE have to continue STRONG TEA PARTY COMMUNICATIONS with Boehner, Ryan, Cantor, & all the GOP powers. They already have respect for WE TEA PARTY Citizens, so lets keep it up here and on America Speaking Up.
