Dems Gone Wild: ‘F*%k the President’

The frustration with President Barack Obama over his tax cut compromise was palpable and even profane at Thursday’s House Democratic Caucus meeting.
One unidentified lawmaker went so far as to mutter “f— the president” while Rep. Shelley Berkley was defending the package the president negotiated with Republicans. Berkley confirmed the incident, although she declined to name the specific lawmaker.
“It wasn’t loud,” the Nevada Democrat said. “It was just expressing frustration from a very frustrated Member.”
Rep. Jerrold Nadler (N.Y.) was also overheard saying that “we can’t trust him” not to cave to Republicans and extend the tax cuts again in two years, according to a Democratic source.
The anger aimed at the bill was widespread. As Democrats moved to block the bill from coming up on the floor, chants of “Just say no!” could be heard by reporters outside the room.

I oppose the tax "deal" between the President and the GOP leadership. It's bad for America.
It extends current tax rates for a mere two years. This makes it harder for businesses to make long-term plans and may actually discourage them from hiring. A permanent extension would send a much better signal to the business community. Also, this deal . . .
* Includes a "food safety" bill that will ruin tens of thousands of farmers without making food any safer
* Reinstates the death tax
* Extends unemployment benefits without making corresponding cuts elsewhere – expanding the national debt
* Extends government funding all the way through next October (yes, in 2011!).
And I'm infuriated to learn that this "deal" funds Obamacare for 2011. Thanks, Republicans!
I won't be surprised if the final version includes a bunch of back-room deals and unrelated bills catering to special interests. After all, nothing much has "changed," right?

The Dimicrats have stopped the continuation of the Bush Tax Cuts. Wasn't that Obama's original position? Obama demonized these tax cuts for 2 years, now he has "cover", he tried to be bi-partisan but congress is just a bunch of squabbling children. And with a Republican majority in the House in 2011 the scene has been set to slime all of Congress, especially the Republicans. Obama could care less about taxes, just the political posturing, and will eventually rule by executive order. Merry Christmas, enjoy it, because January will be cold and brutal.

Got the fire going in the wood stove! I'm toasty. Haven't stripped down to my skivvies yet, but it's doable. As far as Obama's "compromise", I think it's more of what I'd describe as a "gambit" than a rouse. I understand it, and because I do understand it, I see it as the act of desperation that it is. He's taking a thumping from his base now, gambling that there will be a payoff down the line. It's not going to turn out like he thinks it will because his fundamental lack of understanding of free market economies is so skewed. He really believes that the stimulus is going to work. In fact, it's probably driving him crazy at night wondering why it's not already working. I'd almost feel sorry for the poor man-child if he weren't so anti-American.
Regardless what happens with this deal, I'm absolutely confident that the Republicans made the right move at the right time. The people complaining don't understand the game…or they realize they're losing. I only hope that the Dems throw a huge fit over this, giving us the opportunity to stuff this damned DREAM Act!

What worries me more is not knowing the details of the "deal" Obama made with the GOP to get this past his desk. I mean, we know the obvious extension to welfare, I mean unemployment…But seriously, we have no idea to what extent this deal goes. This "partisan" gesture by the POTUS doesn't sit well with me. He has a very specific agenda and will not, I think, waiver even to the coming house majority. Time shall tell…
