Pigileaks: The Pigford Applications

These are redacted Pigford applications that are all done by the same lawyer. All of the claimants come from Arkansas (two are related) and the stories they write on the application are clearly boilerplate, probably done by the same paralegal. Some of the words are even misspelled consistently through the documents.
We don’t know the outcome of these apps but if they were successful claims it shows how little the claimants actually had to provide to get $50K. This is the kind of information that we can’t wait to subpoena.

I would like feedback from someone with real legal bonefides. Preferably on the prosecution side. If fraud is committed is there a statute of limitations? Would the representing lawyer also be liable? Is Congress the only entity that can investigate and if not who can.

The sad fact is that this Pigford settlement money is chump changed compared to the real thievery taking place in this country right now.

Today is the day Obama signs Pigford.
There is a little know, seldom used point of law that stems from the old English Common Law, known as "Misprision of Felony." Although arcane, it is still Federal Law. It can trip a person up, and put them in the penetentiary. I have seen it used.
Here is my point.
If Obama signs Pigford today, knowing what is known about it, that it is rife with fraud, that it is embezzlement in the truest sense of the term, then Obama, by simply signing Pigford, is an accessory to the fact.
I would love to see a legal and Constitutional scholar take Obama to task, and file Federal charges. Further, it should be expanded to include Mike Espy, and every attorney who ever represented a client in this case. They are all guilty of fraud.
Remember Barry is the one they’ve been waiting for. Until this anti-American jerk is out of office expect more scams. This is all he knows and understands, a community organizing flim-flam man. Thanks John McCain, Barry’s a real good guy…dumbass!

Yeah, but an investigation into this fraud could open up a Pandora's Box of fraud that goes on in welfare, medicare and medicaid. A few billion here and a few billion there, and pretty soon you're talking about real money.

Hey Cowboy, I'm not so sure the courts would challenge barry. I've been following the birther movement and even though there have been multiple lawsuits filed, not a single judge was strong enough to allow the case to go forward. I agree though, I'd love to see this thing go forward in court.

But I know this much, if one reads this entire exhibit, look at the top of item Four Narrative Statement, where it lists "Damages". The "colorvator" that is mentioned? I reckon in English, and more particularly in the Ag Industry, that would be more commonly referred to as a "cultivator".
So much for this particular crooks farming expertise.
This is why I do not trust my government. These thieves will all walk away without nary a hint of punishment. If impeachment is not warranted in this case I do not know what is. How far does a president have to go if they are democrat before they are held accountable. The republicans will play footsie and nothing will be done. Two or three republicans complaining and demanding investigations means nothing. The American people should be amassing on the steps of the capitol building to demand justice. From slow simmer to rapid boil. Way to go Obama.
The new Tea Party Republicans and Independents are going to be put to the test. If they don't yell and scream about this then we do not have a chance. It is kind of like the Castle Law, where if you see someone robbing your neighbor,(this administration), you are obligated to demand they cease and desist or face consequences.

If you look at the first claim you can clearly tell that there were 2 people who filled it out. One was left handed and the other one was right handed.

I read the statement above and just as expected it is full of bogus references to "white" farmers, but nothing was cited to substantiate their accusations but mere claims of discrimination. Wow. Is that all it takes? I very seriously doubt each and every Pigford claimant can prove discrimination and it is obvious we have massive fraud esp. in those instances where "black" people are claiming discrimination when in fact the high majority could not grow a watermelon patch let along drive a tractor and till the land. The real racist Shirley Sherrod was fired due to her discrimination against "whites" and then it was learned that she and her racist husband stand to collect 13.3 million dollars from this fraudulent Pigford case. Notice how she has gone into hiding and then suddenly everything is hush-hush. Cease with the bullshit now and perform your investigation Congress. This case is flat out fraud to rip off the U.S. Treasury by people who mostly don't pay taxes and mooch off the system. They do not deserve one single dime and all involved should face prosecution by the Federal Government to the fullest extent of the law.

Other than Michelle Bachmann I haven't heard anyone of note making noise much about this … yet. As far as Obama keeping his distance though, Cowboy Logic points out above that he is supposed to sign this today. Doing so and knowing it is rife with fraud would seem to be enough of a case against him IMO.
Sometime ago I went to the bank to make a deposit. I've got a pistola permit and a pistola. Wise guy walks into the bank with a loaded finger. Where I live, if you are a gun owner, you are guilty until proven innocent. Thus, the bar for me acting in my or others defense is almost insurmountable. Put it this way, for me to pull my trigger, he would of had to pull his. I'm not going to jail. Regardless, he was black, and all I can think of now is what an absolute sucker and moron this guy is. All he had to do to commit theft was go to his local ACORN office, take a tutorial, and in two shakes and a lick, a potted plant here and there, he's got my money! And he didn't even have to risk his life!

I'm not a lawyer but work for them. So with that lack of adequate qualification here are my thoughts.
My initial concern was not for the propriety of the legislation and the settlement but whether the journalistic approach was adequately fair and balanced. All facts aside this is a class action lawsuit and what that means is that all claims have a certain amount of facts in common. And it isn't out of the realm of normal operating procedure to have one person participate in the completing of a number of these documents.
In conclusion, I'm hesitant to comment further without resolving in my mind whether this is something ado about nothing. That being said there are plenty more stinking piles of poo in this legislation to discuss.
I think Michelle Bachman did a pretty good job of detailing the deficiencies in this pork yesterday.
So, how many suspicious-looking applications and statements from people who've witnessed the abuse do you need before you believe this is NOT "something ado about nothing"? Have you noticed the difference between 18,000 and 96,000 yet?

So for the last 3 days, Breitbart releases these docs and not one person is coming forward to warrant aninvestigation? This is UFB to me. Also unbelievable is that they provide so little in documentation. When the IRS performs an audit, they want receipts down to your last damn sheet of toilet paper! Yes I did. Did you bother to read my post in context? Especially the last sentence? It's not like I'm cheerleading for the legislation I just don't trust the media either. Sorry, I guess I've been watching too much Glenn Beck…..trust but verify.
I'm curious…are these three examples for three different claims? The name on two is "Robert", and on the third is "Lonnie". But if you read all three, they all sound the same. (ie, verbiage and complaints), and the handwriting is much the same on all three. The only significant differences in the three claims is the amount. (one @ 59k, one @ 81k and one @ 79.5k)
Also, all the apps have the box marked, noting that a claim of discrimination was filed. Where are these claims? Further reading reveals that all of the applicants state that they "orally" complained of discrimination. Which is it? Oral or written complaint- or both? So, again, where are the written complaints? If there aren't actually written complaints on file at the time the discrimination took place, why not?
What could be a bigger pile of poo than nearly 70,000-plus bogus claimants x $50,000 each?
